This was convenient because it's where my storage unit is. The people here are always pleasant and helpful. Check out was quick and easy. Uhaul did a great job of estimating my mileage. Between stopping for lunch and getting off the highway for gas, I had 12 miles to spare when I got to my final destination and didn't have to pay for more. This was helpful in managing a budget for moving.Victoria U.

Hours said were open till 10pm. Dropped off at 6pm and only employee was convenient store worker who first told me to watch the store and he would check truck in but then changed his mind and said just put the key in drop box and i would be all set. Next morning I get a email that I was being charged and additional $15 for not filling tank to 1/2 like it was when I picked it up. Speaking to female employee (Brittney?) she said she looked at it and it was just under the 1/2 tank. I told her that is where it was when I picked it up. I then asked so its my eyes versus her eyes. I was then told they could not credit me and I had to call the national phone number. I was put on hold 6 times in a 5 minute call. Eventually during the last hold I hung up and call the 1-800 number and spoke to a CS rep who then apparently contacted the drop off location and then came back on the line and gave me my credit. Uhaul was great. Drop off location was not.James L.

Cab was filthy dirty when I received the truck. To the point I purchased disinfecting wipes to clean the truck on my trip. When I returned the truck, I worked closely with an associate to make certain all of my obligations were complete. Was never told that to avoid a $25 fee, the truck bed had to be clean. I did move some trees and there may have been a few leaves left in the cab. Had I know about the fee, I would have certainly removed the leaves. Associate never told me In any case, it might have taken two minutes to remove the leaves. Totally unfair that I was charged $25 to clean the cab.Christopher T.

The tail light was out, water got in the uhaul and got my stuff wet, the windshield was cracked. They never went over contract. I paid for 2 days and got charged 3. The man who called me was very rude and disrespectful hung up on me twice.alice P.

I selected a different location and was assigned this location. The manager was not wearing a mask and coughing recklessly indoors and would not wear proper PPE. This was not contactless at all. I asked him to wear his mask and acknowledge his actions and he instead took a phone call and talked about his workers negatively in front of his other staff and his customers. I asked to wait outside and was told I couldn't. I had to wait 20 minutes to get the keys to the truck despite checking in on my phone. The truck equipment was very difficult to operate. The power steering seemed non existent and it was extremely frightening, but I did not want to engage with the manager again. I personally feel like I deserve a discount because of this lack of regard of my safety (infectious disease and poor mechanics).Melissa B.

Beware, this "location" is a parking lot with a key drop box. You can not check your rental in at this location without a functional gps, camera, and mobile data connection. The gps on my smartphone is broken. This prevented me from checking in my rental online. I was on hold for 45 minutes trying to reach u-haul and then I ran out of cellular minutes for the month. I had to borrow a stranger's phone and mobile data to check in my rental. This was not easy to do during a pandemic. This was incredibly frustrating. When I booked the rental, there was no indication that this location had no staff. I thought it was a store. There should be an alternative way to check in at this location or at least some indication that a gps, camera, and mobile data connection are required if you are going to check your rental in at this location. Because I wasted over an hour and a half trying to check in my rental, I missed a very important appointment.thomas B.

Mobile pick up still involved me going into the location to pick up the key. With previous mobile pick ups at other locations, the key was locked in the truck and I was given a passcode. Also the gentleman asked me to step aside and wait so he could wait on his convenience store customers. In a COVID-19 situation, I was in the location way too long.David F.

A first time employee was yet to be trained by her manager who was there and was incompetent or incapable of doing his job as a trainer and her job as an employee in Portland Connecticut, I was told nothing about the tank needing be filled to three quarter of a tank as well a both employees neglected to tell me I had to take a picture of the odometer. I was told only, after I dropped the keys off and backed the truck into its spot, by a different employee, who did not know the meaning of customer service as she was extremely rude, that I had to fill the truck with gas and take a picture of the odometer after I had already backed up the truck into It's spot and unloaded my personal belongings. I hope to hear from upper management as I am appalled at this transaction and got charged over 100 dollars for a minuscule amount of gas. I will be following up as well with management at uhaul at the Portland ct location. Kyle Adamskyle A.
Truck interior was very dirty, didn't even want to put my water bottle in the cupholder. Stored a bag on the floor then found a big sticky yellow mystery clump on it. Had to add a lot more gas than indicated on the paperwork, more than I'd expect for the miles I used, and the employee was overly defensive and worked up over my comment indicating as much, as if I was yelling or being argumentative, but I was just asking if I understood the paperwork right/commenting.... I rent trucks regularly for work and this is my least favorite location.Kellie R.

The vehicle was high mileage with the brakes feeling weak. And the driver side mirror wasn't useful at all, swiveling all over the place. Vehicles like this need a full in detail preventive maintenance check or take. Out of service with the amount of miles on this particular truck.Leroy S.

Lower the damn price, seriously. $330 for a trip for the state of CT. Shit, I could've just hired movers instead of renting out a damn Uhaul truck and sat on my ass while brute dumbasses moved my shit into the new house I had. Or better yet, why not offer some veteran or military discounts for disabled veterans? That's why I kept the truck for an extra day because I'm disabled. But lets overcharge the gimp. Made car trailer res. a week ago to get disabled car to dealer. Called night before, yes, trailer there. Call again AM, trailer gone, because I wasn't there at 7 am. I paid for 7 to 7, figured I could pick it up any time. Regional off. #800, helped, but said its like a Dr. appoint., don't show, app. cancelled.
