I will never use u haul again. I paid all the extra for the insurance.And I had an issue, and when I used the roadside assistance, they told me they couldn't help me and I needed to call a tow truck. I would highly not recommend u hall.

Andrew WIf I didn't know better, I'd think the place wasn't open for business. It looks like an abandoned building from the road. I got dinged for an additional 80 some odd dollars for some sort of mileage fee and an extra day of rental by you guys, which I am not happy about. Google maps said the route I took was only 62 miles long, but somehow you said I went over 80ish miles. It's not fair that you advertise a certain rate and then tack on a bunch of additional fees at the end. If I ever move again, I will likely not use a uhaul. Tacking on the extra fees at the end does not sit well with me at all. Very underhanded IMHO.

Paul SOwner/attendant is not helpful, available nor friendly. Hours are very short Phone assistance from schedulers/dispatchers was most helpful and streamlined the process. I highly recommend them
Lina ARude behavior. He added Safetrip coverage for $15 without telling me, I had it declined in my quote. Put hold for more charge on credit card than what I had in quote , which is ok to cover any extra mileage, but again was very rudel when I questioned to understand it, I would go to a different location, and carefully look the contract next time before signing. Very different (bad) experience from Avis or Hertz which we are used to

SAMUEL GAlways a nice experience to rent from here whether in person or online. To improve, I found it a bit difficult to manipulate the number key pad to open my locker for keys. I have arthritis and the number just didn't want to spin unless I used my fingernail and pulled down hard. Also the numbers are wearing off so it made it a bit tricky to tell if I had the correct ones.

Robert LI had to leave the door to the shop open when checking out because of the cigarette smoke and smell. I had to wipe down the entire cab because it was dirty and smelled.

Kim SVERY bad experience with renting from this location! I arrived to find the door locked and a note in the window stating that they were away and would be back soon. I checked their lot for the trailer I rented and found that it wasn't there. I had to change plans and rent from another location. I will not go back to this location!
James KDo not use the automatic pick up phone system! Takes way too long, many glitches, would have been much easier with a face to face person. It was not time saving or easy at all! Same with drop off.

Chris CThe tank was only 3/4 full, service engine light was on, steering was messed up and interior was filthy. Very disappointed with the whole experience. And when we went in to complain the owner was smoking. I thought you can't smoke inside a public building. Never again.

Robert RThis was my first time renting a U-Haul, and it was NOT a pleasant experience. I had the APP downloaded on my phone prior to pickup, and knew what needed to be done before driving off, so I arrived 15 minutes early. As soon as I clicked on "pick up my truck," the app just kept re-freshing to the same page. When I clicked the home button, it told me my location was not enabled, even though it was. Therefore it wouldn't let me proceed any further at this point and I called the pickup location in Painted Post. They were closed and I was told to call the U-Haul hotline for help. I had to do this two times because when it asked for contacts, I didn't realize they would be called ON THE SPOT, and I gave my employer number (just a generic number for the company because it is a very large corporation with over 3 000 employees - didn't know who to have them call). Obviously this number didn't work, but instead of showing me that I needed to input a NEW number for a second contact, the page just refreshed on it's own - making me have to start over AGAIN. After sitting in the parking lot and being on the phone with U-Haul three different times, I finally got my truck keys - only to find out that there was very little gas in it (37 miles to empty). Already frustrated, this sent me over the top. There's not a good way to be able to gage how much gas you will need to put into a vehicle you've never driven in order to bring it back at the same level. This is also frustrating because I was given the truck with 1/8 of a tank of gas, and I gave it back with a 1/4 tank of gas. Lost some money there too. I thought "dropping off the truck should be WAY easier than picking it up, right?" Wrong. The APP was telling me that my location was ONCE AGAIN not working. Not sure why this is even necessary, when I'm TELLING the APP that I'm in THAT LOCATION to pick up/drop off the truck. THANKFULLY there was someone on site during drop off that allowed me to just hand over the key. My headache would have been two fold and I would have probably just left the keys in the truck at that point, due to frustration. All in all - in the future, I will NEVER rent from U-Haul again, and I will NEVER recommend it to anyone that I know. It is 5000 times easier to rent a car!! Never again.

John WThe website says the height is 5'4". My haul was 5'3-1/2". The actual measurement was 5'3" height. Did not fit properly so caused a little damage. Not the location's fault.

Michael PThis was not my drop off location. this is where I picked up the auto transporter. My drop of location was Rocky Mount, NC with the truck and auto transporter. The person at the Painted Post, NY office mixed up the Reversation. He took my Reversation and someone by the name Shelia and switched them. So, when we went to drop off the truck and auto transporter to Rocky Mount, NC they told me I was in the wrong place. It took the U-Haul manager almost two hours to fix this person's mistake. Was not a very happy camper.
dorthy cWe were the only ones picking up a truck for a small job Saturday. The computer wasn't working - we waited 30-45 minutes and he finally got us checked in over the phone. Still couldn't print out contract. Drove it less than 10 miles and figured we needed to fill it up to return. I'm sure on a normal computer working day it's an ok place. Saturday wasn't it.

Dianne WI chose to return our van using my phone. While the process was easy, as luck would have it, it was pouring rain and I had to take all the return pictures showing the conditions of the return while getting soaked. It would have been sooo nice to have a carport-like place to stop the van and take the pictures (there are about 6 or 7) and only take a quick shot of the van in its parking place. Also, I have not received a final itemized bill. I "think" it was offered in the return process and I know we used less miles than we had estimated thus totaling less than the estimate.
