The Asheboro location was great, everything worked how it should. However, this is not where I originally made my reservation. I made, and had a confirmed, guaranteed reservation at a location closer to me. An AT, (Auto Transport), was guaranteed to be there and I was notified when I arrived at the location to pick it up. I then had to sit and wait while they looked around and called other U-Haul sites to find an AT. Then I had to drive nearly thirty minutes out to that destination, (the Asheboro location reviewed), and then rent the AT. If the original location could not supply the AT that I was guaranteed, a call or text or email would have saved me precious time and hassle. To any fellow customer reading this, please make sure to call ahead even after your guaranteed reservation.

Everything was fine with ease of renting and condition of the truck. The only issue we had was the location. Unless you know the area well, it can be a trick trying to get to the building.

So last night the day before turning the trailer back in to a drop off location we discovered it said the city and no address. We couldn’t get anyone on the phone at U-Haul to answer the question as to where to return it. They told us to call at 7 am. So we tried again at 7 am and found that they didn’t take calls until 9. Finally got through another scheduling location and they then told it that we could not drop it off in our city and would have to make a 3 hour round trip to drop it off in another city! This was around 9am we got this info and the drop off time was 12 noon. I finally got through to someone else that said we could drop it off in our city. What a mess. We are greatly disappointed in U-Haul I’m this rental. We will be requesting a full refund.

The lady that checked us in was super nice and very welcoming. The truck was in good shape for a moving truck. My only complaint is we were suppose to have the truck until 3:00 on Saturday...the owner started calling us at 11:00 am to see if we could bring it back early bc another client was suppose to pick it up at 3:00. We were under the impression we could keep the truck until 5 bc it was he same charge for 24 hours as it was for 22. But I understood I put in the computer 3:00 so we had until then to get it back...so the owner called my husband and I 3-4 times constantly until we were able to answer the phone. We didn’t appreciate feeling rushed for a service that we had paid for until 3:00. No we weren’t getting there early bc we had paid for the truck until 3:00. He then called again about 2:30 to make sure we were going to be there at 3:00. I understand he cannot control the way reservations are set up online and honestly he was very professional and nice but we just didn’t appreciate being rushed to bring the truck back when we had paid for the service.

Everything was fine, except I should have stayed to finish out the drop-off. The attendant VERY KNOWINGLY charged me 17 dollars for fuel. When I filled up the truck, I took special caution to only put as much as I needed in the tank, PLUS a gallon or two extra. I turned it in with the gauge reading OVER a quarter tank by a good margin. This operator very clearly took advantage of the fact I wasn't there and charged me to make himself a quick buck. I've dealt with U-Haul for over 30 years and have never seen such cheesy behavior. I expect a refund for that 17 dollars. Just unbelievable.

Staff was friendly and wonderful to work with answering all my questions. The truck I rented was in great shape and drove good for a bigger vehicle. It also got great gas mileage and didn't cost much to refill before drop off. If I ever move again I will definitely be headed back to Randolph storage.
