The worst customer experience of my life. Issues began a week before the trip, when we tried to register my colleague who has an international licence as a secondary driver. Her licence didn't meet the required fields of the online form, so we phoned in to sort our account. The person we spoke to brought up and made changes to someone else's account, and we pointed out the mistake, which we were told was then fixed. We described how we would like our agreement arranged, were told it was sorted. When we arrived to pick up the van, none of the initial verification processes were deemed sufficient, so I had to drive back across town in rush-hour traffic to get my passport. Then, the key wasn't in the lock box. All in all, we lost 2,5 hrs at the start of a very long day. When I received email verification of our agreement, it named my colleague, even though we had previously clarified on the phone with multiple staff that I was managing the booking. I replied asking for the agreement to be made out in my name, since the reservation was made by me, through my account, on my credit card, and I was the primary contact. Customer service refused repeatedly. The return process was smooth, but again, the emailed receipt had the name of my colleague, despite repeated requests for U-Haul to contractually acknowledge that I am in fact the person they were doing business with. Again, customer service repeatedly refused to correct the mistake. Luckily, I was able to print off a receipt in my name from the website. I will do everything in my power to avoid further business with U-Haul.Nina G.

No signs on where to park the vehicle upon return. People who work there are no help: they do not know how the system works and will not help if you have an issue. They did not put the items we rented into the van which caused a serious delay in moving and forced me to drive to another U-Haul to get only one of the items. Customer service rep in scheduling was amazing though! She got it as figured out as she possibly could, all while being the only one in her department. Bravo to that girl!!Laura B.

I booked the truck two days in advance so that I could grab it and be ready to go as I had an extremely busy day. I get there to find out the place is closed, my reservation went through but yet there is no one there to give me keys for the truck. So I lost an hour that I desperately needed to set up my event. Very unprofessional, would never book through them again. Luckily a man showed up from another uhaul I'm assuming, and got me on my way. Thank you to him, he was very apologetic and kind.Ashley R.
The process of self pick up and return is the worst administrative nighmare ever. Other car rental companies do not require you to take pictures and send it in when picking or returning a car. Process of verification should be completed when booking the car and process of return should be done your employee whenever they have the opportunity to assess the car.Olufolahan A.
Advertising and pricing is EXTREMELY misleading. I believed that the 40 $-odd dollars I paid when placing the reservation would be the total- yet I ended up paying 90 $. This is absolutely ludicrous. Will not rent again, barring someone forcing me to at gunpoint, and even then I'd be pretty miffed about it.Erin D.

The interior of van was very dirty and person doing the rental did not seem to understand the booking system and took almost 10 minutes to complete the computer work. Did not explain a lot about the truck, I was lucky as have rented van before and more or less know how to operate.Ian P.

Express check in useless did not save anytime Person at this location does not know how to work computer they handed me the computer and keyboard and told me to do it. When I already booked on line and did express check in Damages on the vehicle were not recorded on the slip provided so I had to take pictures in my phone The mileage is in miles not kms but when you estimate on line it is kms so you get nailed with 2x the cost when you turn it in.Glenda T.

I received a semi cleaned van at best, and the owner spent several minutes chatting with someone behind the counter before even acknowledging that I was there. She tried to charge for 2 days worth of insurence on a 24 rental. And also told me to bring the van back by 6pm the same day I rented it starting at 10am only giving me 8 hours of my 24 hour rental she told me "it is better for you to take it back earlier, so we can rent it to other customers." Overall I was appalled at the service I received at this location, and from this experience not only will I not use U-Haul again, but will not recommend this service for anyone else I know.ryan M.

1. The truck was not assigned at the scheduled time and I had to wait outside the shiny tiny bubbles entry for 90 minutes before someone came in and handed the truck. 2. Someone from shiny tiny called me and talked very rudely and arrogantly about regueling the truck after delivery. I will definitely never use this service nor recommend shiny tiny to anyone in futureAmbuj L.
The owner/operator is extremely friendly, very helpful and accomodating. I would go here to rent a uhaul anytime I needed one, best uhaul location I have ever dealt with. Professional and knowledgable. Went above and beyond to help me out.Tyler W.

worst service ever. The lady working at the location is no help, has no clue what she's talking about, gave me the keys for the U-Haul when my live verification wasn't even done because they were closing yet I told her the process froze and she just handed me the keys and left. Then when I brought it back told me the contract wasn't completed or something stupid, WONDER WHY?! then told me to pay 100$ when the person from U-Haul I was speaking to on the phone right there said I didn't have to pay her anything right there. Please save yourself the trouble and go to the actual U-Haul store.Brianna P.

The vehicle wasn't ready on time so I had to wait for 30 minutes since I arrive there. The representative's communication skill was significantly poor as well. She didn't seem to know what's on my contract (i.e. The Utility Dolly and the Collision Damage Waiver I added to the contract). And also when I returned the van, she said I made a damage in the back door which was a spot of the paint came off. It wasn't clearly a dent or anything and even hard to see unless you put your eyes real close to it. When I said I didn't hit the door and I bought a Collision Damage Waiver, she said she will discuss with her husband and get back to me. But when I received a receipt, there was 150 $charged for so called "damage". This is totally not acceptable and I will file a complaint and require a proper appraisal.Chad L.

The before hours pickup was horrendous. I reserved the van for a 730am pick up and was going through the online process to drive away. The process asked me to send a photo of my drivers license 3 times and then told me I would need to go to another location that isn't close to pick up another rental. After 5 phone calls, 2 of which I was hung up on, one transferred to a location that had nothing to do with my rental, I finally got through to an office that got me going for a different van.... but the keys weren't in it. When the office opened, they were finally able to give me another van that had keys, but they couldn't find my reservation and I had to fill out another form. It was now 930am, I was 1,5 hours late for my move, my help was only available for 2 hours, elevator booking times were left with only 30 mins left on the clock. I was out of time for everything and had to move my house myself all because Uhauls horrible online pick up option. When I had to return the van, the guy at the counter told me the keys were in the second van the whole time and basically called me a liar - his wife, the owner, also searched the van and they were NOT there. Not going through uhaul again. I'll buy my own van just to avoid this bs. The 50 $reservation is also a lie. I asked if I would be compensated as the rental was not ready for my reservation time. The guy at the desk told me to call the main office and gave me the phone number (only after I asked), and didn't seem to care that the uhaul reservation had affected my day as a whole.Joseph L.

I was charged on my credit card for the estimated price of 38,63 $ before I brought the U-Haul back to the store. My actual receipt after I returned the U-Haul indicated 34,80 $, but I was still charged the higher price. It's not a big difference but I do not believe that the customer should be charged based on an estimation of kilometres even before the truck was returned.Martina H.

The location did not have a four wheeled dolly as per our order so we used a two-wheeled dolly instead, which made the process longer and more difficult given the type of furniture we were moving. Ideally, the location would be able to provide the equipment we ordered, but alternatively the website should at least indicate when something is not available at a location. The lady at the desk couldn't speak good English and could not explain the contract we rents a van is explained it would cost 19,95 $ for rental and 0,49cents per klm once I return the truck within 24 hours they didn't have bill ready and couldnt explain what charge would be...they sent a email and charge me for two day rental was in actual fact only one...very disappointed and upset with the extra charge...FRANCES S.

I was told that the fuel tank was full and it did appear to be full. I drove 5km. Stopped at the gas station to fill the tank like I'm supposed to and it took over 18 $so obviously the tank was not completely full.Michelle B.
It is January and winter in Canada. As such it is expected that cars have winter tires. However, the van I was given had SUMMER TIRES!!! It was extremely different to move the van through the street. It got stuck more than once. It even got stuck trying to return the van. I am very disappointed in uhaul as I expect better service than this. They called me 30 times while I was working for an expiry date on my credit card, they were extremely rude, they told me I could pay in cash but then went back on it and charged it to my credit, they told us we could drop the truck off at 6:30 we were there for 6:10 and they were closed and told us just to leave the keys and it'll be charged to credit. The rental agents were very nice and pleasant people . The equipment worked well and was kept in excellent working condition. There was a slight communication problem with returning the van yet the rental agent rectified the issue and is a man of his word . They were extremely personable and was very professional . I would suggest all vehicles originating from the USA be equipped with winter tires or all seasons if the vehicle would be utilized in the snowy months in Canada or at least notify the renter if there are no adequate tires it could be dangerous. Highly recommend this Uhaul agent as well as the laundry service Tiny little Bubbles. MerciJanice S.

The Customer service I received was by far the worst experience ever and if someone could give me a call to explain I would appreciate that before I contact head off the staff had their 11 year old son do the business for the truck they gave me the wrong key, I left town in my own vehicle to get my son from child care they had their 11 year old son call me to explain they made a mistake and needed the key I didn't have a way to bring the key back til it was time to pick up the vehicle and they harassed my phone line and me to bring the key I wasn't in a state to do so with a small child who is still in a car seat then they charged me for insurance I disagreed to upon pick up and the next morning harraases me again about dropping the key off when my time wasn't up there is more to the story and I would love a call backPAIGE C.

We reserved van online and arrived to pick it up but the employee was not there to process us. It was a Sat pickup, she was ill apparently. After a phone call, we were served by the owner of the building and were able to leave with our rental but it was an added stress to our moving day.Cheryl Y.

Rarely have I experienced such poor service. The agent was indifferent, uncommunicative, unhelpful, and un-knowledgeable. She made me feel as if I was bothering her, and when I misunderstood the information she gave me, she did nothing at all to clear things up which to me bordered on being Rude. The fact that my brother and I still remember her face almost two weeks later, speaks volumes. My Advice is ti get someone who doesn't so obviously hate what they are doing.Taji N.
I rented the truck to move a refrigerator from nearby Sears Outlet. When I arrived it the truck cargo area was very slightly to short to allow for the refrigerator. I returned the truck and asked to exchange it for a larger truck. I was away only a few kilometers away and probably less than an hour. I was told I could not exchange the truck for a larger model, but instead would have to pay for the 24 hours rental of the first truck and the get a new contract and pay a new complete fee for another (larger of course truck). I left without doing this and am very disinclined to ever use Uhaul again.Marc B.

Nothing really to do with the location, the lady was friendly and efficient. The truck was a little banged up but clean. My issue is with the uhaul website that allowed me to rent moving equipment that wasn't available at the shop. I ordered a dolly and a furniture dolly and these were not available. This place is fantastic. The negative reviews posted here are bologna. The people working here were very kind and professional. They ensured all the equipment was cleaned and ready to use.
