The ladies that were working the front desk 11/21 in the afternoon were working so hard. It seemed uncharacteristically busy at the counter, the phones didn't stop ringing, and they didn't miss a beat. The uHaul check out link worked perfectly, however the online after hours return process wasn't as seamless. I was able to call and speak to a customer service agent (close to 11pm) and get everything taken care of that way.

1) Truck cab smelled of cigarets. 2) woman behind counter had zero customer service skills 3) what is the point of doing the full mobile check in option is you have to go inside the office to get keys and other rental gear.

I love Smith's car rental establishment. I've rented cars from them and this was the 1st time I rented u-haul. They are professional and super kind and I've always had a good experience!

Initially I made a reservation with a larger truck that was entirely too big. The female sales person was amazing. She was short staffed bet remained cool under pressure with the long lines and phone calls coming in. They definitely dont make them Like her anymore. Also, I like the sense of humor of the manager at the actual location where I picked up my truck. He made all my stress disappear. Sorry I don't recall any names.

My reservation was originally made at Kings Tires II; this was the first reservation I've made where no one called to confirm my reservation and there was an issue getting my equipment. The person who took my call at the 800 number and helped me find another truck was very helpful, as was the staff at Smiths. However, there was a difference between the cost of insurance that showed on my reservation and what Smiths states on their contract (about double).

I had ended up with an emergency on the day of the return and was barely late by 10 mins past 5 whe this facility closes. I am a long standing customer of U-haul and always return in time. I should not have been charged an additional $20 for being 10 mins late on a 24 hour rental.

The after hours online drop off on the uhaul website repeatedly messaged me that the session expired even though I entered the texted code to access my rental info seconds after receiving it, and because of that I had to pay an extra service fee.

Well the truck I reserved more than a lobby in advance apparently got stolen . No problem I get that but it was stolen on a Friday my reservation for was Saturday I should have been notified, so reservation get switched to Sunday .. okay better than nothing but I truck I was suppose to get Sunday never came back Saturday.. again should have been notified but guess who shows up Sunday for a truck ? Me and guess what now I'm paying people who are suppose to be filling the truck with items bc I said show up Sunday cause it couldn't happen twice . Well it did . Now uhal says hey we can rent you one from this place called smiths , with no other choice I agree and guess what ??? I show up there and they say they don't have a truck !!!!! Are u kidding me . So then I go back to first place and they assure me I do and I should go back lol !!! At this point I was done and this company had already sucked enough time and effort outta me . Work experience ever , I will be happy to pay extra never to use uhaul again . Hopefully this finds someone who can look into it but probably not sooo not sure why I wrote this .

The inside of the van was not clean...there was clumps of dirt in the drivers area. The person I talked with today about being charged 2x was rude and talked over me - - kept telling me to "wait" for the charge to be taken off or contact my bank to dispute it - this is NOT what I was told on Saturday. I was told they would credit it back that day . . if 2 charges came in today why wasn't the credit ??? I told him he was rude and that I would be making a complaint with U-Haul . . he did not seem to care . . told me "do you want the number to U-Haul or not" . . I have worked in customer service for 20+ years this REP should be fired!!! I did not get his name but I believe he was the same young man that checked me out on Saturday - - it should be on your internal documents. . PLEASE let me know that this young man will be reprimanded - - he does NOT belong in a customer service field.

You should make sure that the Manager personally checks the fuel ⛽ level before you leave and not just be told to take a picture of it and that is good enough or you will be charged 50 dollars for fuel when the tank was not half full and was only a quarter tank. Still waiting for a response to my email about this issue.ill call tomorrow and hopefully we can resolve this issue. Or maybe you can call me as I requested. And be sure to check that closing time is 3 on Saturday as I said return at 4 had I know it was 5 I would have said 3 and not be charged 20 for being late otherwise they were cool there human but please all before you make charge my card and we can come up with the real charges. Times are tough. Thanks again for your support

Smiths uhaul in santa rosa used my uhaul account to rent to an unknown customer. The customer gave their cc info so no charges to me, however if something were damaged I'm sure smiths would be contacting me. Smiths uhaul totally put me in a compromised position, did not verify the actual user or did not care.

I hate the fact that I had to go to three separate locations to drop off the truck and too much paperwork and pictures

There were several issues with my experience. The first does not deal with smiths as I signed up online for another uhaul location which was closed despite showing to have hours at the time of the rental. My issue with smiths was on the gas calculation. I filled the vehicle with gas before dropping off and calculated the amount of gas based on the mileage for the truck and the miles driven. Then I got a $20 gas charge after already paying for gas.

I came in after the business office was closed. A nice gentleman offered to check my U-Haul return in anyways. Great, flexible service. Thanks again for working with my schedule changes as well.

I made my reservation on line & had never used the lock box system, so I wanted to be sure to get into the office for the key. I got side tracked & forgot they closed earlier on Saturdays, so I called to let them know that I was on my way. When I got there Prince had already left the building & was headed to his car. When I told him I had just called, he turned around & escorted me back into the office & got me hooked up! Now that's some great customer service!! Not only that, I pointed out a discrepancy between the on line price & a quoted price & he gave me the cheaper rate!! Prince's customer service is exemplary!! I've rented here before & see no reason to go anywhere else!

They moved my guaranteed reservation back two hours from when I set it and then when I arrived my reserved truck was not present. They ended up giving me another size as the party was not going to return the truck that they stated was a last-minute reservation from the day before.

Front desk looked like they hated their job a smile would have been good also i had to ask how to report damage before leaving they should tell you so that u dont get charged when coming back also the oil meter Said it was out of oil it had 12 percent left thats dangerous because u could total that truck if there is no oil in the engine it should have been beter maintained it was also dirty from the previous rental over all i got my rental and returned it in good condition b4 my time so 2 stars i will go back only if its my last option

Fix the roof of the truck so it doesn't leak in the rain ruining some wooden items and forcing us to unpack wet boxes immediately. Additionally I went to the location on the reservation and they had no trucks. Was then sent to Smith's by U-Haul CS

Smith's Car rental had me arrested for possession of stolen vehicle, towed the truck that I was renting which was full of my stuff in the back that I need for my job and my everyday life along with my sons life, and his embarrassed me throughout the neighborhood my family and my job which I almost lost! I'm security guard and then now have charges that is not jive with my position they're from my hours have been reduced and I'm being charge for something that I did not do I was merely renting a vehicle which I've done numerous times through U-Haul just within the past couple years. My landlord passed away and I'm being forced to move out of my home along with my 82-year-old step dad under circumstances out of our control adding to the stressors of life while I'm raising my 15-year-old son and this was the last straw. My intentions were not to to steal a vehicle but to finish using it in this chaotic mess I've been dealt with. I had communication with two women in the office and was l that everything was good considering I'd been paying my bill for everything except for the mileage which could not be accounted for until vehicle was returned to tally up the final bill. Apparently a police report was filed reporting the truck stolen at 1:30 on May 2nd and my card on file was processed at 1:42 of a payment through the office less than 15 minutes after the charges were filed!! I'm very confused and in a worse spot then they could have imagined. Due to all of this I'm on the verge of losing my job! I am so frustrated, upset, disappointed and unknowing of how I'm going to make it through this?!

The trailer I rented I was not able to use as the description of the trailer was incorrect. I returned the trailer within two hours and the manager refused to not charge me. Extremely dissatisfied with their refusal to not charge me. Called corporate Uhaul to complain.

I returned a U-Haul trailer on monday, 1 hour late, parking at alongside seven other un-rented trailers and was charged for another entire day, sorry but that is not good customer service, I could understand a late charge if it was Saturday morning and someone else's waiting for the trailer, but obviously none of them are rented today, and to charge an entire daily rental rate for the one hour late is also outrageous, horrible customer service I will be putting this on the websites as well Not Happy !!!

The vehicles should be inspected better after they are dropped off. After picking up the vehicle I pulled out onto Santa Rosa Ave. I then lowered the driver's visor then a glass crack/crank pipe wrapped in tissue fell on my lap. That could of been an issue if someone was stopped by a law enforcement officer while driving the vehicle and the pipe was found then. That person would probably go to jail. Would U-Haul then be responsible? I don't think so. The pipe was destroyed.

A problem has developed. I was charged 2 days when I had the vehicle for about 5 hours. I hope to resolve this March 7 and get a refund. I called today but got a recording on the phone.

The staff person did not properly connect the trailer to my SUV (zero tightening of the nut) resulting in the trailer separating from my vehicle on hitting the first bump in the road. When I called Smiths Rent a Car to report that I had a detached trailer at the side of the road they were indifferent. Someone might be killed one of these days and it would be U Hauls liability.

Verify the gas gauge in the truck matches the contract. It is usually overstated on the contract. Then when you return it, they charge $13 a gallon.

I rented a truck for 24 hours. Brought it back early and handed the keys to the man at the front counter to check me in. He said he would email a receipt to me. My receipt came 3 days later and billed me for 3 days rental. I've called them 4 times; each time they assured me they'd credit me and send a revised receipt. I'm still waiting for it!
