Michelle HI HAVE BEING RENTING UHAUL VANS FOR MANY YEARS NOW. Some locations were mediocre, even disappointing causing me to lose my reservation and standing without a van on Sunday morning.. Some good, but Storage Plus in Long Island City is exceptional. Simply the best. Very professional.

EMANUEL VI originally reserved a u-Haul truck at 9:30 15 foot. I ended up with a 10 foot now I have to do a second trip for the same price. I need either my money back or discount that's not cool I'm wasting lots of gas money and time.

STUART W | Expérience généraleCustomer service needs to improve in providing accurate information at the front desk about pricing and information regarding returning U-Haul vehicles. I did not complete the return process accurately because I was misinformed and unaware of that part of the process. Other then that, the process went okay. The van had a dent in the back and cracked in the rare front and also could be cleaner. For the amount of money that U-Haul is charging I expect better quality in service and transportation.

Chelsea MThis locationn was great. I was sent here from the original place I made the reservation. The original van was in bad repair and had a flat tire. They had no other vans so they sent me here. They had terrible service and I would never recommend them. But Storage Plus was great and I am so glad that I found them. Will use them again.

JAMES LI am very pleased with this U-Haul experience. Although it states limited business hours, the trucks are actually able to be rented pretty much 24/7. You reserve online and go there, find the truck, use a key code to unlock the truck key. I rented a truck at 1130pm when I had a surprise moving task. Was able to rent the U-Haul in the middle of the night, use it, return it. All with no need for worrying about lines or business hours. Pro tip. For the trucks, the "truck number" is printed above the rear rolling door. Took me awhile to find it. The truck was in perfect shape, clean, everything great. This was an excellent experience and I will use them again if needed. Of course the difficulty is the location far away from things but that's up to you to determine if too hard to get to. It's about a 15 minute walk from the Hunters Point 7 and the neighborhood seems safe if not pretty.

Mark DUhaul has amazing customer service. i had trouble finding my reservation on my account on a Sunday and i called customer service which was available quickly and the person on the phone was amazingly helpful. i don't know her name but she is definitely someone to keep at uhaul. For a sunday, i was amazed! i used uhaul several months ago and customer service was great again (that time via twitter). the truck was clean and easy to pickup without an agent and the online system is great. moving is a stressful situation and i hope uhaul continues with their amazing service. please thank the woman who i spoke to today! thanks uhaul!
ANTHONYJOSEPH WI moved in my stuff here during the height of the pandemic, coordinating the move entirely remotely. The process was incredibly comfortable thanks to the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff at Storage Plus. They never gave once gave me any reason for worry the whole time my things were with them, and my recent exit process was just as wonderful. Highly recommend

Harry WMAke your reservations ACTUAL reservations. When people are moving from city to city they don't need to deal with the possibility that they might not get what they need on the day they need it. What a stupid way to run a business.

Andrea B | Expérience généraleMy experience was a bit frustrating as I had reserved a U-Haul at my storage unit location for 10am and had friends that could only help till 12. My van was not there and when I called they said a customer extended. Then said there was one at a new location which was only an 8min walk but I didn't get why I reserved one then and they never emailed me/called to say it had been extended. So when I finally got in touch it was nearly 11 and we had to go get the U-Haul from other location. They gave me $50 credit which was nice but I ended up damaging things because I was in a rush to have help to unload big items while I had friends there. I feel they should've had a new van there or given a heads up/not over booked. The facility was nice and the workers were nice there. The phone call was the issue semi talking down since it wasn't a far walk but again I was in a rush and it was nearly an hour later with no reach out from them. I suggest going to a U-Haul center and not reserving a van to be there if you are in a rush.

Estiven RI left the key in the box next to the locker that had the key in the first place. I saw the instructions to late that I was supposed to place back in the lock. Maybe if you're more crear with the steps to follow will be great. I don't know if I'm going to be charged extra for that but I didn't read the instructions cause it was the last step and I usually just drop the key in the key hall in other U-Hauls

Eva P | Expérience généraleMore than one thing: 1. This location is ridiculously isolated. It's at the back of an industrial lot, adjacent to heap of broken pallets and old tires. It's not near any public transit and taxi/uber drivers have trouble locating the address. Long story short: it's not a safe place for anyone to go with their wallet, much less their smartphone, AND passport. 2. The check-in process needs to be EXPLICITLY described beforehand. I read the emails and downloaded the app beforehand, but didn't receive adequate details until just before my reservation. I didn't realize that I would need to either 1) take a Live Photo of my passport, or 2) have a third party answer a live call from a 1-800 number… And since I had already commuted to this back alley between two warehouses without my passport I had to scramble to get a family member to stop what they were doing and answer a call that HALF of my contacts didn't receive because of spam blockers.

You're at the mercy of the person who rents a vehicle before you. If they don't return it on time, you wait. At the site. For the person to return it. Of course UHaul doesn't care because they get to charge the late person extra money for the late return and they charge you for whatever period you've rented it for anyway. You wanted 1-5? Well now you've got 3-7. Sorry you waited.

Andrea SI am rating U-Haul more than Storage Plus. It took 45 minutes to get my vehicle through their mobile check-in, and next to impossible to speak or chat with anyone for help. When we finally got our vehicle we found someone's old drink bottle in the cab-not what we wanted to see in this covid-world. While we were eventually able to speak with someone who was able to give us a discounted rate, we will look elsewhere next time.

eric sUhaul can improve the service by keeping to the agreement when reservations are made! I was lied to OVERCHARGED AND WENT THROUGH HEELL TO IBTAI. A REFUND. I think uhaul should check in with their customers when equippement is picked up and returned. Uhaul makes promises they don't keep.

CARLY D | Expérience généraleThis place has only one van, so be advised that if there's any conflict with another reservation you might get sent to another location. The good news is that they had the van there for me and it was ready to go, and the customer service was really nice.
Isaac EI made a reservation for a location in north Brooklyn to rent a van for moving. I arrived at said location to find that they don't even have vans there at all. Confused, the service rep called U Haul and explained the mishap; from there I was given the option to pick up another van in Brooklyn or Queens. Brooklyn being more convenient I chose that but when I arrived, was told my reservation was actually in Queens. I spent money taking three different car services to each location needlessly- not only a waste of money but also of precious time. Moving is already stressful enough without these unnecessary errors.
