The truck is pretty old. It was pretty shakey at times to drive and felt like it was starting to fall apart. I would recommend selling it and buying a newer truck or at least having a shop look at what is wrong with it. Not sure how old it was but well over 100,000 miles and you felt that. The person working there also felt shady in his demeanor or just not very happy. The door of the uhaul was frozen shut so he came out and whacked some of the ice off but when I went to move my furniture it was still solidly frozen shut. It took over an hour to get the door open. I feel like the uhaul employee should have checked to make sure that the door to the uhaul was functioning properly. I will not go back to this location again. I was also charged $7 for gas when I left slightly more gas in the tank than when I took it out. I mean it is only $7, and I dont mind the $7 but this place felt very shady and I regret going there. There is a nice Uhaul location right off of old Seward, I will definately be using that location next time.

I rented a pick up truck cause it was only $20 a day until If it charged $$ for little mileage!! So ended up over $100.00 !!

I felt real uncomfortable leaving my credit card and drive license info there. The trailer was back in a dirt lot behind junk. If it had rain more than it did, I am not sure if we would have been able to get it out of the lot. The first person that helped us seemed capable. The second person who helped us seemed like he was not all there. I had to show him what paperwork we needed. I do not think I would have been so critical of I had not been so mistreated at where the email I was sent to pick up my trailer in the first place. I went to the location at 1300 as stated on my email to pick up my trailer. Mr. Purvis at the old Seward Hwy (location stated on email) was rude and completely unhelpful. Made me call customer service to find the new location of pickup. After speaking to customer service, I get a text at 1317 telling me I have a new location. I saw a poster about a 50 dollar guarantee that the item will be ready at my pick up time. It was not, so I think I am entitled to the $50.00 refund. I was sent a text late telling me of the change. This is the second time this has happened to me. Uhaul has changed my location on my online reservation with a really late text. Why bother doing the reservation online if you are just going to change it. I set up the location for my convenience, not uhaul. But it seems it is your convenience. NOT GOOD.

I didn’t get a contract when I picked the truck up. Was told when I turn the next day to call cause show will be closed and no one answered. Had to drive the truck 7 more miles home and back when the show was ready to take truck back. Days later I kept getting calls to return truck. After paying they charge for extra miles, insurance coverage I didn’t want, and had the rental date and time wrong.

Location was fine. Location was 8 miles from Airport. The real problem was the Van we rented was filthy inside and outside. The van only had around 8000 miles but I would bet it had never been cleaned inside or out. All other Uhauls I have rented in the past were very well maintained. This was a total different case.

Location was difficult to find and access limited due to construction in immediate area. Vehicle was available on time. Moving blankets were mostly soiled and not bagged... They were being stored randomly in a very dirty garage area and had to be issued randomly. I think I''ve contracted an illness from handling them!!

Truck was not ready on time, had to pick up from another location than ordered from. Truck completely empty of gas put 75 dollars of gas in truck and went 15 miles then not compensated for the extra gas. Called to speak to management with no call back. Will never never use again or recommend!!!

First, one of the workers did not connect the trailer right to the hitch and the car transport disconnected in the middle of the road while we were driving. Secondly, they gave us a car transport with bad tires and while we were in the middle of no where in BC Canada our tire blew out. We were stuck on a very dangerous part of the Alaska Highway. The tire crew service was the only good thing about this rental and they're not even part of UHAUL. In addition to all of this, UHAUL does not give you locks for your truck (as they should) so we had to buy our own and our truck got broken into over night and somebody stole over $700 worth of stuff including our tv. I do not recommend renting from UHAUL, if you can find another place like Budget or even Enterprise, I would give them your service instead. Also , this particular pick up location looks like it's a front for a drug ring; super sketchy.

Overall, I was exceptionally treated well from a customer stand-point over the phone and in-counter. Although the process was slow at the counter side, I did not mind it but later realized that I was late for my appt. This could have been prevented if the system glitch was recognized and corrected.

The 'oil change required' light was on when I picked it up. The transaction took nearly 45 minutes because of computer issues. The people in front of me picked up several vans, one of which had no gas (tank on empty). Not very clean. I would recommend using the main location on Old Seward for all Anchorage Alaska UHaul transactions.

Nobody was at this location when we dropped off our rental even though the website stated that they should be open. I was a little uneasy with the after hours dropoff as directed by Linda at the helpline however I did receive a call from Randy when they opened. Randy called to let me know that everything was fine with the dropoff and I would like to thank him for the follow up call.

This location had recently moved and they were very disorganized. They could not find the keys to the truck I had a reservation for and then I had to go out of my way to their old location in Spenard in order to get a truck. The whole ordeal took over 45 minutes.

We paid for an appliance dolley theh never gave us nor mentioned they did not have. Had to call the Eagle River, AK location who were AWESOME -and provided us with a dolley. (Inside of Cozy Carpet! Those ladies ROCK!). The Spenard location deliver my husband a dirty trailer, whom he had to sweep out and clean on the inside before we could put our furniture in. Alsom at location they never bothered to check and see if the trailer was okay and parked the trailer on a sloped hill, which made it hard for my husband to put behind his truck. It was snowy and icey on the sloped hill and my husband nearly slipped under the trailer. Whemn I called about the dolley they only said they did not have one and did not take the effort to solve the problem as we had paid them for it already. I had to call the Eagle River location myself and resolve the. mestake Spenard made. The Gentleman was short on the phone and his guest service skills were below par.

Provide scale or built in scale with load weight to measure how much you are loading. It is hard to guess how much weight your stuff has when you put several boxes.

I was just glad to finally get a truck. Went to three locations; was originally schedules for a trailer, had my friend drive to Anchorage from Homer to pull the trailer and was not told it was not available till an hour before pick-up time. Ended up wasting most the day chasing vehicles before finally getting the 17 foot truck in Spenard. The price was quoted for the 10' but I ended up paying full price. I have had better luck with U-haul in the past and even though this was a disaster - the move got made - it ended up costing me double what I budgeted and inconveinced several friends. The truck I did get was filthy inside and full of dog hair - glad I don't have alergies. Just glad its over

I called the 800 number a day ahead of my confirmation to upgrade my trailer from the 4' to the 5' and the representative confirmed that reservation. She assured me I would have that size trailer at the same location for pick-up. There was no other size at that location so I called the local uhaul hub on old Seward and the representative told me that there was no record of that conversation and there were only 4' trailers available for the next week and a half. I was forced to leave behind items and was given a 'I don't give a darn. Too bad. You have no other option' attitude from the representative, who offered no solutions and basically told me I talked to someone who didn't know what was up and it's my problem. So F you anchorage u-haul. The gentleman at the pick-up location told me its not his problem. He just keeps the trailers there that uhaul doesn't want in their lot and he gets ten percent. I understand his position because uhaul doesn't communicate with him. I hope someone gets this location's business together. It was Literally the worst business transaction I have ever taken part in. I paid for the trailer and there were no services after that. He said "go get it" and no service after that. No connector cables at that location or help to make sure I mounted it correctly.

The online form that we booked the truck on allowed us to reserve dollies and blankets. The location we picked the truck up from did not have most of the other items we thought had been reserved, so we had to make a trip to a second location to get them. It would be great to contact a customer ahead of time of their request cannot be completely fulfilled.

I was charged for going 65 miles which is impossible, I will never every rent from this place again NOR WILL i RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO HERE. I filed a complaint #324203 against him.

It was night it was dark I used the late night drop off. Was not sure were to park, parking is very limited and the location is poorly lit and there are no big signs which make it hard to find. . I prefer the location on the Old Seward. But thankful and glad the truck ran fine and it got the job done.

The people were very helpful and did a good job except they told me that the truck was full of fuel, and I forgot to check until I was a few miles down the road and it was only half full. I tried to call and the phone number on the rental contract did not work so I had to turn around and drive back to get it straightened out. Additionally the original location I reserved the truck from (Uhaul moving & storage on Old Seward Hwy Anchorage AK) gave my truck to someone else because I came to pick it up at 1:05pm instead of 12noon, no on called me and I was not told that I needed to be there within one hour. They had no other trucks available and I was in a bad position because I had drive 150 miles and scheduled three other people to help move on that day - luckily they were able to locate one at the Spenard location but I don't think they would have even looked if I hadn't been extremely upset. Very unprofessional way to do business. Not happy about that at all.

The guy at this place was a total jerk. He treated us like we were white trash and complete idiots. Which, we are not. He was rude, pompus, and a total douche bag. He was clearly way more concerned with his hair gel and designer jeans than he was with running a business that is customer service oriented. I have no idea where this guy gets off thinking that it is OKAY to treat others like they are below him but it is quite shameful and he needs a reality check. I am utterly disgusted by his character and will NEVER, ever return to that location. The other staff off of the Seward Hwy were incredible and we happened to have to go to the Spenard location to pick up the Uhaul but we didn't want to. Love uhaul, hate the Spenard location.

Main office in town also did not have reserved equipment available...staff there also friendly and tried to make things right. FIX issues with availability please!!!
