I had a horrible experience. It took me an hour to check out the car because they had difficulty with finding my reservation and handing me keys. They never come outside, they just stay behind the counter. Car was was soo dirty. Otherwise everything worked fine with the car.

I hired cleaning, but they could not fulfill the job. Consideration should be taken into factor while hiring cleaning notices that some time should be implemented before hiring cleaning example I hired the U-Haul the day before the cleaners did not communicate with me until later in the day, I had to cancel because no one showed up or called me to say anything the numbers provided did not work. Cleaning should not be an option if the provider is not the notice. Example I hired the truck the night before it should not be an option for cleaning and moving services.
Lorrianne WWhat i personally missed is some kind of guided onboarding in the app perhaps, like an algorithm of actions (with a brief how-to): Reservation -> ordering -> check in -> pick up (like refer to the person at the counter) -> drop off (using the app to return a truck at the drop off location). For a new user it's quite unclear what to do (or whom to talk to) next. And when you're busy moving, you usually get to the point of returning the truck pretty exhausted. The man at the counter had a lot of clients and they demanded attention, it was hard for him to get to our process of returning the equipment I guess. But still the price you offer beats a lot of cons, thank you for making my difficult moving day a bit easier.

Akeri CThe truck cab was filthy and smelled of urine. Moving in New York City is stressful and everything must be planned and scheduled. There was no time to request the employee clean the cab (why had it not been done in advance?). I took the truck and started on my trip. On the way I purchased $20 worth of cleaning supplies (including gloves) and scrubbed the floor thoroughly. This helped but the urine smell remained. I drove the vehicle halfway across the country dealing with this smell.

Nigel LI usually go to this location to rent U-Haul The staff that runs the rental. Don't check vehicles prior to rental is taken. Just hands you the keys. Same as returning vehicle. They just take the keys. My last rental experience was a great learning experience of how important it is to follow instructions before taking the vehicle. Photos are KEY. I was charged for damage on bumper that was evident before taking the vehicle. Reached out to location employee was extremely rude. An eventually hung up in my ear. Reached out to U-Haul who started a claim. The site supervisor reached out to me 2 days later stating they reviewed photo & my money would be refunded. Guess what 2 weeks later I'm still waiting my refund… sad

bertram gI received a 10 foot truck with a big gash in the roof which destroyed 2 pieces of my production equipment because it was raining for two days. Unable to see the hole in the roof because when opening the cargo door it slides up and covers the hole in the roof.
Michael GThey took a while to get the truck and still wanted me to return in at the time scheduled when I got 45 minutes after I was scheduled to have it. Also the gas meter was the same and they still charged me a gas fee. It's a rip off.

Jamion SThe customer service at a third party location does not compare to an actual U-Haul service center. We unknowingly locked the keys in the U-Haul at the center upon drop off. Come to find out most third party U-Haul centers don't have spares on site, accordingly to customer service. The store employee threatened if we did not stay onsite for roadside support to unlock the vehicle, we would be charged to tow the truck, despite U-Haul customer service saying that is completely untrue and advised we leave. It took over two hours and multiple calls to roadside assistance and customer service to finally resort to sourcing our own locksmith.

Shellion BMy van wasn't ready when I showed up and I had to wait 3 hours at the gas station for it, even though I called in advance to confirm it'd be ready for me to pickup. There was another customer there who had also been waiting for a while and was sent from another uhaul location. I know there was a storm the day before so I'm trying to cut them some slack, since there were a lot of delays/cancellations I'm sure. But still overall this uhaul was run unprofessionally.

Steffanie PUhaul updated my order two days before my move with a location that would definitely have the equipment I wanted (a 15' truck) so on the morning of the move I go to pick it up and I'm told they don't have the truck at this location. I called Uhaul customer service who told me that there were no trucks at all in the area and that the only location that had a 15' was very far from my current location. Meanwhile the gas station attendant is telling me that they have a 10' truck without a ramp at this location so I took that instead with zero input/mention of it from customer service. When I went around back to pick it up, the back door was fully open and there was a bunch of trash inside including a half drunk coke, which looked like someone had been just chilling in the Uhaul. Uhaul told me they would credit me $50 but I've not seen any follow up about that which means I will have to contact them again. Awful experience with Uhaul.
Scott KBooking was fast and easy. So was the pick up. I ended take a helper, who was at the U-Haul pickup location. He was amazing, very fast and organized. My moving from Brooklyn to Jersey City was done within 3 hours. Absolutely recommend this location and the helper.

Gary WI reserved this truck with 2 appliance dolly's a week in advance. They didn't have dolly's for me and sent me to another U haul that was a few miles away. I asked if they knew for sure that that had them and if they didn't to call. They said they would have them but didn't call. When I got there they didn't have any either. Please refund me some gas and the time.

Janice BAfter booking my reservation online still when I got to pick up the truck I still had to do another reservation that pissed me off cause I was in a rush and already upset I had to do that again after doing it on my phone but otherwise I would go back and yes I Willis recommend to the public the man that was behind the counter kinda felt bad for him multitasking with gas and rental he was good with it my experience overall is 4,9 and the other half star will be added when they hire another person that’s not a one man job after while you get confused but like I said that man was a champ and very patient with my rude self lol not nasty but rude and him being nice even more made me correct how my communication was coming off to him but he for sure understood my frustration still good people in the world
