It took 2 hours to get through the collection process after booking on-line. To add insult to injury, because I then returned the van slightly late (although well before midnight i.e. same day) I was charged for 2 hire periods. I also filled up the van with fuel & got charged for fuel. Terrible. terrible experience.Martin G.

Apparently there was a 17 $charge that I was never told about nor called about, even though they said I was all clear to go with NO extra charges after I dropped off the truck. Now this 17 $charge was sent into collections!!!! And has affected my credit rating only a short time after I was supposedly invoice??? Terrible customer service and lack of care. Don't tell someone there are NO charges owing then bill them after the fact!! Plus, send to collections?? So terrible.MARCIA G.

U-Haul basically OK. It works and is helpful. I use U-Haul fairly often and try to keep away from this location. It is a very convenient location but everytime I rent here there is always something. Like yesterday I took the truck with 1/4 tank of gas. I took a picture. I had the vehicle for around 20 miles, filled the truck, at the rental location. Which appears to be a rental condition. Showed them the picture of the tank over 1/4 but they wanted me to back the truck out and put in another litre or 2. Crazy. They are crazy, it is always something like this just aggravating customer for nothing. I understand a small business has tight margins, I run a small business but playing this stupidity only drives customers awayBruce J.
No one from Uhaul came out to inspect the trailer therefore a cursory inspection was done by the driver, Ryan Brownlee. When we arrived at our destination with the trailer and started to load it i noticed that the one tire was flat. Had to unload, go get air in the tire and go back to destination to start loading again. When it was reported it to the Uhaul representative he did not want to have anything to do with it and hung up. He was very unprofessional and not courteous at all. This was not a very good experience at this location.Ryan B.

The product was disappointing. I rented 6ft wide open trailer with the ramp. I needed 6ft width to bring my garden tractor. The entrance of the trailer was less than the 6ft, which was disappointing. What is the point of 6ft width if the entrance is smaller than that??? Uhaul should discontinue this product and bring a better product to achieve 6ft width. I wish they reimburse my money.Asad N.
I forgot his name but an employee there went above and beyond to solve my predicament. I left the keys to my new house inside the U-Haul I dropped off. He came back to work and grabbed it for me. This is an extremely positive experience for me. Merci!Arthur C.

The guy is charging me 9,69 for fuel which I have even not used. I only used 15 miles (as per receipt issued to me) and I put in 10 $gas just before leaving truck from gas station which is less than a kilometer away from location. I have a fuel receipt with me The guy keeps hanging up on me. This is extremely rude and not ethical at allASIM H.

I dont know why they keep charging me over what we agreed. The customer service said 49cents for every km and my bill is showing 59cents. I dont think this is right and this is not the first time. I need someone to call me and rectify this immediately 4039035574. ThanksChristopher I.
Your online reservation system is lousy. It reserved a trailer for me at a location that doesn't ever have them. I went to Symons Valley location after first going to the reservation location. Added an extra half hour to the process.DAVID T.
Never ever go to these people and location. My pickup time was 10 am, so reached at 9:50 and saw 4 people waiting, one guy since 8 am. No one turns ip till then 10:20 am and that too just to give a truck to guy waiting since 8 am. All others asked to wait till the actual guy has to come. I called the owner complaining about us waiting in cold wind and dust, as is my right as a customer. The owner tells me that he has zero tolerance for â€œfightingâ€ and asks me and others to be patient...also mumbles about covid and difficult times without any context to this lack of service. He also claims that they called customers and told they would be late, but none of us who were waiting there received calls. He said the person is late because he is giving some exam. He even asked me to provide my credit card details on phone to expedite delivery when the guy arrives. I had already given these details during online checkin and refused to provide it again on phone. At 10:50 am, a boy , probably owner's son, arrived and was totally non apologetic. Finally I get the truck at 11 am and was already late for my commitments. No change in return process....when I came back to return at 1:30, again no one in office and about 6 people waiting to return or pick up. The owner asked us on phone to drop contract and key in box. The contract said they will charge 20$ for this â€œconvenienceâ€, after calling the owner, he said he will not charge. I wrote all the details ( odometer reading, fuel gauge and the fact that service was very poor) and dropped in the box. One lady waiting to pick up truck was told to â€œhave a coffeeâ€ and wait till the person arrives. I wonder how U-haul give or allows such people to operate these services. I will certainly never go to this place again and strongly urge other customers to stop using them. They have no concept of customer service and are extremely arrogant instead of being apologetic. I would use other service providers instead of U-haul....it is no longer same as it used to be. The trucks are unclean, no sanitizers in the truck ( and the owner was talking about covid).....stay away from u-haul and definitely these people and location.Atul Dinkar D.

Van was filthy wham picked up. The attendant wasn't even in the office when I arrived. I was told to be there at 1:15 and when I arrived there was another customer waiting outside who had been there for almost an hour. It took the employee another 15 minutes to arrive. Was pretty frustrated with how the truck was parked, I could not get the truck out of the parking space as it was too tight the agent had to come move it and took him 15 minutes to do so... also the truck bed was very dirty obviously not sweeper before it was rented. Improve the geo fence of the location for the 24/7 share program. Had to drive to the end of the yard for the app to pick up the location. Truck could have been cleaner. There was no indication at all that the truck had been cleaned for a while there was dust on the panels and cargo area had dirt marks all over it. Great overall experience with the 24/7 share program - keep up with your AI capabilities!Mohammad S.

Honestly the whole process was really efficient and truck was in great condition. No difficulties, but it's a bit pricy if your driving to the south of the city and getting the truck in the north because the kilometers add up quick.Halima F.

Picking up of truck went well. U-Haul Personnel (male) is very pleasant, and knowledgeable. On route across country, we soon noticed that we had no windshield cleaning option. At the end of my stressful journey I reached out to this location only to be told that I should have called the 1 800 U-Haul # for assistance. Good to know. No one takes responsibility for anything. Customer Service - what is that? Incompetent is the word I chose to use to describe my experience with U-Haul. Having no windshield cleaning option, made for dangerous driving condition where lives could have been compromised and lost. But then again, who cares. Hopefully U-Haul will take this to heart and going forward, checking to make sure the windshield washer dispenser works to prevent a similar negative experience for future customers.AURELIA P.

The opening time in the Symons Valley office was not as detailed in the advert. The Opening time was shown as 9:00 am but the pickup time was said to be 10 am. I indicated that i can receive text messages but the change in schedule was sent late by email and I did not realize it until i got to the office and had to wait extra 20 minutes in the cold, despite a pending appointment. overall, I enjoyed the service.Lawrence E.

The only problem was the extremely frustrating notification via text message saying that I needed verify my return after hours, or I would be subject to a 20 $fee. 1) I was NEVER told about having to do this 2) I had already locked the truck and returned the key to the lock box, so there was no way to photograph the instrument panel 3) The app was extremely clumsy and annoying. I gave up after fumbling around with it for 10 minutes Thankfully, U-Haul did not charge me the 20 $verification fee or I would have been extremely pissedDOUGH K.
They charge me over for fuel, I took two picture first the moment after start and second the moment before shut down, fuel gage is exactly same just in different odometer but they charge me 20 more for fuel, and I have me gas receipts too.ALIREZA A.
The ONE employee working was good and fast but this is a busy location, it was Saturday. Was super busy and people needed help getting their units including me. Can't get help when there is a constant line up inside. I called the phone number and some guy said come to his location and he would help me. Just a terrible experience, wasted lots of my time. FYI I booked for Balzac location. Someone called me almost instantly saying I'd have to go to a different location, anyone valley. Before I went I got gas in Balzac and there was a trailer there. I asked if I could use it and he said it's not in the system. So I had to go to that other location that was way out of my way. Just a terrible experience but can't beat 15 $to rent a trailer for the day so that's about all you guys go going for ya.Jon L.

I went to the Symons Valley Road U-Haul location in Calgary at approximately 9 AM. The process was easy and orderly. The attendant was informed and well-versed. The rental was cost effective and the vehicle was in good shape. However, when I went to the parking lot to drive away the 26 ft unit in the compound, the vehicles were parked in such a way that, because I was by myself, backing out was essentially impossible without a ground guide to judge how close I was coming to the other parked vehicles behind me. The one person in the office was handling a customer lineup 5 or 6 people and due to Covid, I could not enter and express my distress. Therefore, I needed to ask one of the people standing in line to help as a ground guide. There was less than a foot of clearance to actually make the turn for such a long vehicle where the blind spot is quite significant. Upon returning the vehicle, I was told to return the vehicle to its original parking spot but explained that I spent the better part of 20 minutes trying to get out of the parking stall and was not in a position to return it to that original parking space. To his credit, the employee then parked the vehicle for me. He indicated that because of the large number of vehicles on-site, they needed to pack them in closer. In future, I would suggest more distance in the maneuvering aisle, especially for the long box units, either by having a wider separation between vehicles, angle parking, front-facing drive-away or on the end of the parking row.Frank L.
