we were given a vehicle with a LOCK on the back door - apparently the previous renters lock. They told us to cut it off, but we didn't want to be responsible for any issues that might arise from removing the lock. Had to return the truck and get another one - cost US an extra hour of time!

Staff and vehicle were fine but I got charged for refueling at a rate of $4.25/gal. But I had already put fuel into it, returning it to the level it was at when I picked it up.

Clackamas location on Sunnyside, I was not to happy with they service: Truck dirty in the back They don't know exactly about gas in the car One head light not working Not much interest showing to the customer Unlike your location on Foster in Portland where Bill is manager and they have EXCELLENT customer service skill and care !!! Morris at the Talbert Hardware where I rented the truck was very pleasant and easy to deal with. I believe he is the owner, and I always like supporting local businesses. If you're in the area and need a U-haul, go rent it from Talbert Hardware at 122nd/Sunnyside.

Phoned In reservation for a pickup truck. Didn't receive a confirming email as promised. Outside of truck and truck bed was very clean. Interior cab dashboard was thick with dust and dirt. This is a repeat incident renting from this location.

I reserved the pick up truck for use at 4 pm. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited for 6 minutes to be helped. I was informed that the gentleman's employee took the truck to Home Depot to get cement and would return shortly. But then they would still have to unload the cement. They offered for me to use the cargo van instead. That isn't what I asked for, but I took it anyways because I was on a timeline.

The passenger side mirror was taped in place with masking tape and broke as I entered onto the highway, and got up to 55 mph, with the mirror rotating 90 degrees making it useless. Fortunately I had someone with me to adjust the mirror when I needed to change lanes to the right . We contacted the store as it happened and were told that they were aware of this mirror being broken. This was an accident waiting to happen, as it would have been impossible as the lone occupant / driver of the truck to safely change lanes to the right with no side mirror! I rented from a hardware store that could have either replaced the set screw to make the proper repair ( as I'm fairly certain that they have the correct size screw) or at the very least use strapping tape rather than the cheap masking tape that was on there. When I returned the truck and spoke to them about the mirror, I was told that they shouldn't have rented it because of the mirror, and I should have been given another truck. They also said that they wouldn't rent it out again until the mirror is fixed. The cargo box hadn't been swept out as there was small rocks and debris on the floor, and the dash of the cab was covered with dust, and dirt on the floor. I've been trying to support local small businesses, but after this experience, I will not be doing any further business with this one.

There was a very strong smell of urine or something similar in the back of the truck. I didn't realize this until I picked up the truck and opened the back to upload it. It was very disgusting to have to load my items into the smell.

I returned the truck on full and was still charged 14.00 for gas. I even have a picture to show the mileage and the full tank of gas. Really dishonest and I won't use this location again

I had to go back inside to pick up the furniture pads after I almost drove away without them. I also didn't get much guidance through the process. The app was helpful though. The staff was friendly and did a good job!

Front driver side tire was almost flat, had to inflate tire once I got to my house. Passenger front tire was also very low. Rear roll up door needs repair, cable not winding properly, made door difficult to open and close.

I reserved the van online. Went through the process of online check in (scanning in my DL, etc...), was told on the website that I would be able to get the van without going inside. But, I had to still check in, and none of my online check in info was relayed to the office. Not sure if this is a location issue. -After getting my keys, I was not directed to where the van was located. I had to come back in, and was told that it was parked in the parking garage. Wish I had been told that from the start, or even better, the van should have been parked out front. -Van had dried mud inside. Wasn't cleaned. -I would recommend this facility only if someone needed the closest location.

Multiple issues: uhaul was filthy & check engine light was on. Gas tank was 3/4 full when I got it and that is how I returned it & then they charged me to fill it up. Also, $30 hidden service fees for going through a business that was a uhaul provider. Not a good experience

The people that run this location are dishonest people. They are renting out the truck and not recording it in the Uhaul system and then hoping the subsequent renter won't notice the overcharge. I was overcharged $73 and while I was explaining to the man that ran the store what happened, a customer stopped and said the same thing was done to him and expressed his anger at the hardware store as well. The hardware store manager/owner then followed me into the parking lot and I had to repeatedly ask him to leave me alone as I was not comfortable having him that close to me. I even had to threaten to call the police. DO NOT RENT FROM TALBERT HARDWARE - DISHONEST PEOPLE!!!!

The guy told me that I would get a price brake after s9 many miles and he lied. Dis not do an inspection of the truck before the rental. Did not inspect when I brought it back because he was too busy talking to someone. He was very rude and unprofessional.

First of all we, were asked to go 5 miles out of our way to another U Haul after we had a confirmed U Haul reservation at Clackamas Town Center U-Haul We were sent to the Talbert U Haul on Sunnyside The total miles calculated that we had driven was incorrect. It stated we drove 57 miles and, yet, we only used 1.5 gallons of gas. According to your site, the U Haul Cargo van gets 12 miles per gallon. So, 12 m/g x 1.5 g = 18 miles that we had driven which makes more sense since were were driving within the same neighborhood as the Clackamas Town Center. Talbert did not go over the van with us like Clackamas does. The van was not clean. We are questioning the honesty of this establishment. We also would like to state that since we were asked to go 5 miles out of our way, we should be compensated for the additional 5 miles. The calculation we got was a total of 18 miles driven - 5 additional miles we did not initially agree to x.89 MI Rate =$11.57 that should be charged for the gas usage, NOT the $50.73 MI charge that was sent to us. There are highly suspicious business practices at this Talbert U Haul. We expect to be compensated $39.16.

The U-Haul app and the website is very unresponsive. I had to retry taking pictures of my license and the truck after returning quite a few times because it kept timing out and reloading the page

Absolutely. My rental of the van was at Mt. Talbot Hardware store and is much faster and easier than renting at the uhaul store where there is always a line and the check out takes a lot longer. We rent 3 times a year for at least 6 days and it is a great pleasure to rent from Morris at the hardware store and we will continue to do so in the future.

The person who is either the owner of that store or the head manager seemed to not know or care about typical truck rental procedures. I had to ask him to walk the vehicle with me to ensure it was fine and nothing glaring was wrong with it physically. Before that even could happen when the payment part was being settled, he asked me for a credit card and I replied "I dont have one" he then says "well then you cant rent from here". The overall experience was just not great at all and that gentleman needs to be taught or trained in customer service and how to approach it.

The van ran terribly, said low tire the whole time. Owner said he fixed the tire but didn't fix sensor. There was a dead bird in the back. I returned it 4 hours later, clean and gassed up. Only to get an email 2 days later saying i needed to return the van. Now i get a bill, they charged me $113 when i was quoted 19.99 plus .69 a mile. Which should be around $79. Complete scam. I would not do business there again.

Make sure that when on On-line vehicle is requested that it is ready and that the customer does not have to go in to get the equipment, it was reserved on-line for a reason.

The equipment was easy to use and convenient, however, the owner of the location was not. He implied that I would have to pay a $30 gas fee even when the truck was returned still above the 3/4 mark. He told me to "read the fine print", and when I did it was simply a $5 fee per gallon. He backtracked after he had been caught, but he was NOT a good representation of the company. The people at the location (other than the owner of the Talbert Ace Hardware) were amazingly helpful. However, I would rather drive the extra miles and pay a little more to deal with someone else.

The guy who owns store is the most unprofessional business owner i have ever experienced. He took advantage of a situation and charged me for things i did not ask for. did not explain anything and then yelled at me and used profanity towards me when i called to question charges on my bill. i will never shop at his store again let alone rent a u-haul from him.

Not scam people for there money by adding extra things to the rental without them asking for it then making them pay anyway really unprofessional very dirty inside the uhaul got charged extra $15 for insurance when I never asked or needed it. Very poor customer service act more like a bar then a store

The guy was rude to customers on the phone that were asking about reserving trucks and then made unnecessary comments about it to me when he got off the phone. After doing paperwork he couldnt even tell me which truck I was suppose to take he said one of the 3 out there.
