Lock box that keys in was broke. Took us 15 minutes to get keys out. We were not told it was broke.

I will never get a U-Haul from this location ever again! The employee did not know any information about giving us the key to our U-Haul, so we called the manager and he cursed us out for calling him because he was not at the location. They did not want to provide us with the keys and he was very rude !!!
Make sure gas tank is full. This is the second time that tank was at least 1/4 low to start.

U-Haul Corporate was a nightmare to deal with. I made the reservation in person at The Detail Shop and Todd was great. A day later I get a text that the truck will be available for pickup at a different location at a different time. I called Corporate, spent an hour on the phone, bounced around to four different people. Called Todd at original location and he got pickup moved back to his location. The morning of pickup I received a text that pickup was scheduled at the other location. I drove to the original location and they had a truck for me. A real nightmare!!
Get the driver license process done ahead of time. I wasted 1 1/2 hours waiting for the approval! It was a horrible process picking up the u-haul through 24/7. It wasn't easy, I had nothing but trouble each step of the way. Had to call all the time to get information connected to my account!
It was fine for dropping the van off, but it was clear that the business was more focused on fixing old cars than doing uhaul business.
Lied about the amount of fuel in truck, took forever to get a call back, said blankets were missing then they magically appeared, WORST LOCATION I EVER WENT TO
Love that the owner worked things out so that we could bring it back to the same place as we picked up. Thanks for all he did
The uhaul was dropped off here. We did not go inside the location nor deal with any personnel.
the dealer is a liar and thief. He is attempting to rip me off with false charges and rates. He will not return my phone calls when contacted numerous times thought the past 48 hours. I have filed a complaint with Scott, mgr in Freeport and disputed all charges with mastercard. At time of rental, dealer did not discuss terms or conditions but continually whined about how little Uhaul pays him to be an agent. Going as far to call Jenna, the best liar they have. Why he's telling me this I do not know. I just wanted the truck. Rick Winters

Great service. The owner and his employee were more than helpful. The type of old school service I expect when I do business with a local yet national company.

The only thing I would recommend is to make sure that the 0830 Monday morning customer is not forgotten.
I did not get the furniture dolly, hand truck or TV boxes, since they were not at the location; i had wanted to pick up the truck in Markham, but I was sent to Harvey to get the rental truck.
dolley I ordered was not there. the one I got was too big and was also broken
The manager was so helpful, he even came in on his day off to make sure the truck was up and running for me.
The Freeport dealer was exceptional. He worked with my needs even though they required changes. He went out of his way traveling 85 miles to assure I had the requested truck the day of my pickup. I've rented uhaul equipment many many times, but this was the best experience to date...
The truck I received was brand new!
The proprietor Todd was phenomenal - this is the second time that I have rented from this location and he is great - kind, efficient and very helpful - I cannot say enough good things about him - also, the two renting experiences were great - clean vehicles!!!

Couldn't get a 26ft. Truck, then day before move they told me i had to pick up truck 16 miles further away. Was suppose to get truck at 8am agent didn't arrive till 915am, computer kept malfunctioning didn't get out till 10am and it only had 7/8 tank of gas and was told too get as close to that when returning it, don't know how i'm suppose to know when it's 7/8's full i just filled it like your suppose to.
Website was poorest it has ever been for me. I was dropped and had it freeze. Ended up making reservation by phone (excellent lady on phone). Web also said equipment was available at a place where it wasnt.
No one was in the office when we arrived to drop off the trailer. A note would have been nice saying an eta. All the doors were open and no ome there except the bird. Teach it to give messages. ??They were out to lunch ,left a sign when they would be back, when we returned the truck. It was okay both ways.

Moving is always stressful and a hassle, appreciate that renting a Uhaul truck from the Detail Shop in Freeport IL was not!!
The folks at the Galena Ave. location were very helpful. The truck was available as promised. Todd was easy to work with.
The Uhaul reservation agent I spoke with initially had my drop off location to a different location in my community. One that was not my preferred site and closest to my home? For some reason the location I desired was not listed on the Uhaul site as among the locations in my city Freeport, IL, but it was listed as a neighborhood location when did a Google search for Uhaul sites? In any event, she did permit me to use my preferred drop off location and all was well. I might add that the site I used is a credit to Uhaul in many ways. This to include suggestions from the location owner on my plans for another rental later this year...
Have rented here before, Todd always has what's needed and ready at pickup time. Takes the time to explain safety in driving and loading, a big help. Have recommended this place to many friends. Thanks for a great service in the community.
I ordered a 17' truck. When I got there I was told I could only have a 15' truck. Take it or leave it! I had no choice but to take it. I had to make a second trip which resulted in more miles which resulted in me paying more! I was told that Uhaul doesn't know much about their stock & I should of checked with the actual store first. I did not receive a discount or a apology. I literally feel like I got scammed.
Contact was made with me about the pick-up time. It was snowing and the truck was running with the windows cleaned off when I was finished with the paperwork.
Everyone was friendly and helpful. Todd was exceptionally helpfully when picking up this unit. Please thank Todd for us.
The problem isn't with your dealers. It's with your customer service.
