Should be more clear about the fuel gauge. Was told between 3/4 and 7/8. When I filled the fuel and return Ed the vehicle. The Hague was just 3/4. And the staff said need to be more than 3/4. This was a churn, because I have to come back to the gas station. Does Uhall really care about few cents??? If so, why not make very clear statement before lending the vehicle?ping Y.

The customer who returned the truck complained to the dealer they had to clean the truck themselves, and there was a major conflict not only with myself and the dealer, but the customer who returned the truck and the dealer. The dealer would not assist me, to have the truck scheduled to me as it was the wrong truck. Additionally the dealers report with myself and other renters was very poor. After speaking with UHaul customer service they spoke to the dealer and told him to.assign rent me the truck and the issue got resolved, but, it took 1,5hrs. of my time and my movers. So, obviously this was at my expense The product (truck) itself was in good condition and served the purpose of the rental purpose well but the customer service experience with the dealer (Toms' Food Service) was deplorable. That business should NOT be representing the UHaul brand. UHaul should have a better vetting service or training for dealers on how to represent the UHaul brand to customers, and to lend a hand to help when there are issues.Chris A.

The store owner tried to scam us into paying way more then we were supposed to pay. It took us over 1 hour and a half to pick up our truck, plus 3 calls to uhaul customer service to try and get the store owner to listen. He told us he can't change anything on his end, and then continued to change our entire reservation, trying to charge us over 400$ more then our actual reservation price. He tried charging us a deposit, when we have dealt with uhaul many times before and never had to pay a deposit. Uhaul regional manager spoke to him on the phone in front of us and told him our real price, he agreed, then when he hung up he continued to try and charge us the 400$ again. I will never rent a uhaul from this location again, I have never had this bad of an experience, he wasted so much of our personal time and our rental time. I can't express how upset and angry I am that this happened. I was not the only one either who experienced this. While we were in the store, the owner was fighting with an elderly women as well, something needs to be done, this location should not be allowed uhaul privileges.Atef E.

The store clerk was excellent; very friendly and professional. The truck was immaculate; really nice vehicle. The check-in process was not smooth because capturing my driver's license through their mobile website did not work. I miss the good old days when you could furnish your ID in person. Took 20 minutes to basically prove who I am. Ridiculous, but not the store's fault.Darren S.

Excellent Store - HORRIBLE RESERVATION EXPERIENCE. I've booked with U-haul a lot and had some bad experiences. This was the worst. I booked a van and drove from Whitby to Ajax. When I got there they said no vans were available. So I was given a number to call and told the next closest store was 2 km away. When I called, it was 15 mins away (7-10 km). When I got to the other location, they had the car but I lost 45 mins running around. Please fix this immediately!!Mark L.

the owner was friendly, but did not help with attaching the trailer, fortunately my friend knew how to do it. I realize it wasn't a U haul location, and maybe that's why he didn't help attach the trailer, but I should have been warned about this ahead of timeKenneth D.
The vehicle was not cleaned or disinfected, I didn't notice it in the evening when I picked it up as it was dark and the area is poorly lit. Found the lid of a large tote along with sand in the cargo. Also found a used water bottle and a plastic bag under the seats. The person in-charge was not rude, but looked uninterested and kept me waiting for 15 minutes. In the end he quietly charged me extra for fuel even though the truck was returned with the same fuel level. He did not mention the extra charge or provide the receipt at the time of returning the vehicle.Sougata P.

It was dark when we picked up the truck. The next morning, we noticed that the interior truck was very dirty and did not appear to be sanitized. This was very surprising considering current COVID Protocols. We sanitized the truck ourselves. Then on the road, the check engine light appeared and the AC was not functioning. I lost 3 hours on hold with Customer Service and at a U-Haul Centre in Toronto. The representative at the center commented on the poor condition of the truck, but could not help us.NAUMAN V.
It was clear that the truck had not been cleaned before I picked it up, so I had to sanitize the steering wheel & other touch points myself, as there was old food wrappers & even worse dirty face masks on the floor. I drove 46 Km's further to pick the truck up when there are 4 locations within 5km's of me, & while I was compensated for the extra kilometres at .89, I was not compensated for the extra gas/time it cost me to have to pick up further away I had ordered furniture pads & only told upon pickup that they weren't available. Your videos show straps to hold furniture, but of course none are provided or offered. Disappointed & will be telling friends it may appear cheaper on paper, but not by the end of the rental.BERNICEH B.

The guys in charge were very friendly and they let me parked my car during the rental. I told the clerk MULTIPLE times, that I needed to pick the truck up in Oshawa and deliver it to Lindsay. Myself, my mother & my driver ALL told the clerk the same thing, pick up in Oshawa at 12pm, deliver in Lindsay at 8pm. The next day I received a call stating I would be charged $900 for not delivering the truck back to Oshawa..... I then had to RE RENT THE TRUCK to drive it back to Oshawa ththe next day, Resulting in paying $310 total for my move that was soposed to cost UNDER $200. My credit card limit is 200. So I was charged an overage fee due to the additional charges from uhaul. That NEVER SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED, As I was clear as day to the clerk about needing to pick up in Oshawa and deliver in Lindsay. As I wasn't driving it from Oshawa. To Lindsay & back to Oshawa paying the Kms. That's just outrageous. Due to this situation I will NEVER use uhaul again, and I will STRONGLY recommend to EVEYONE I KNOW, To never use uhaul either. ESPECIALLY that location, Toms variety, and the store clerk were absolutely terrible to deal with. Couldn't listen, filed the contract incorrect, basically causing me to have additional fees that were NOT soposed to happen. Had the clerk DONE HIS JOB properly, as the customer is always right, there would have been no issue, Had the clerk LISTENED, to myself, my mother & my driver, this would have never happened. I am unsure if it was laziness, or lack of wanting to do the work. But whatever it is, it is unacceptable. I will be sure to inform anyone I know moving of this issue, and strongly suggest they find alternate options over uhaul.Kylee S.

The man who checked me in was horrible. He yelled at me when I wasn't able to upload my drivers licence because my phone had died. Then he proceeded to rip my licence out of my hand. It took 25 mins to check me in because he was continually stopping our transaction and helping other customers. The truck was filthy and had a horrible smell inside. I have no issues with drop off/pick up locations or staff, HOWEVER, there was an error on uhauls behalf where they double booked my rental and wanted me to return it 6 hours before the context stated it was due. I got an angry and rude call from uhaul staff about how they were going to charge me if I didn't return it ASAP, even though I was mid move and had the rental until later that day. I booked 10 feet vehicle and when i went to tom food uhaul pick up location they told me that they don't have that truck available. They have 15 feet truck available in truck but i need to pay extra. I said I didn't get any notifications about this from uhaul. And as per online booking i need the trucks. The person working there said you can call uhaul if you want we can't do anything about it. He was very rude and disrespectful. He wasted my half an hour of time. He should be calling uhaul nit a customer as they are the one running uhaul rental service not me. After i spoke with uhaul traffick controller he agreed to give it for the same price but no apologies and rude attitude. I will not recommend this service to anyone. I also work in customer service industry and i sure what it means to provide bad service. You need to take more control of these type of places. The process to drop the truck off was cumbersome and inconvenient with threats of extra charges being presented on the website if I didn't mark the location of where the vehicle dropped off but then the website not allowing me to mark the location due to website error. Also need to make multiple trips into the drop off location because I wasn't aware I needed to provide photos of the odometer and fuel gauge. Last time I rented a U-Haul it was flawless and I just parked the truck and dropped the keys in a box. This time was a nightmare. I suggest you change back to the old process if you want to keep customers. I will look elsewhere when I need to rent a truck next time.Daniel B.

The gentleman at the counter was not well trained to do a uhaul pickup. First couldn't find my reservation, then kept stopping my service to take customers in between. And then when asking for my credit card again told me MasterCard is inapplicable and only major credit cards only visa, which makes no sense and he ended up using my MasterCard after telling him I don't have a visa and that MasterCard would work cause it's a major credit card and was the card for the reservation.Amanda W.

When I asked whether the truck had been sanitized before going out to inspect it, the clerk told me that no, that was my problem. I didn't understand that the truck also hadn't been cleaned. Ever, apparently. The truck I rented was filthy. Shockingly filthy, with passenger seat and floor covered in what appeared to be dog hair, encrusted cupholders, all storage areas, and floor just unbelievably caked with old food, and whatever else had been spilled and dropped there. The entire cab reeked of tobacco. A/C was unusable because the intensity of the tobacco smell blowing into our faces made us realize that whatever other droplets the last users had breathed out must ALSO be in the air return system. I've never seen anything like it. The back of the truck was extremely dirty as well -- with the same kind of loose dirt/gravel found in the cab crunching under our feet. When I went in to Tom's Food Store to complain, the clerk behaved as if he was shocked. "It's not our responsibility," he told me. "We don't check it. We just trust people." This seemed hard to understand, since the last thing I had been told when I signed the rental document (before seeing the truck) was that I had to clean it before returning it or I would be charged a cleaning fee. Does this mean that Tom's Food Store charges its UHaul customers cleaning fees fraudulently? Or just that they fraudulently claim that the vehicles they rent are maintained properly? Or both? Since our family was moving my daughter out of one house and into another that day -- like the only other unfortunate customers compelled to rent from UHaul, I assume -- we had no choice but to proceed. It was an appalling experience and we will never rent from UHaul again. We also intend to tell every person we know who is or is not considering a move about our experience and to discourage them from renting from your company. Really terrible.Natalie O.
I booked a moving van early afternoon and did my early online check in around 1p. When I arrived at 5:50p for my 6p pick-up date the vehicle I had confirmed was not visable. When I went inside I was casually told that my order was supposed to be cancelled and yet no one told me and even as I was in line I got another notification confirming the pick up of my van which was not even there. I ended up having to pay more for a vehicle that was twice the size I needed and the entire trip was doubled in price. I used the vehicle for the 1 hour I needed it for and returned it around 7:15p - at 9:00p you guys called me and said the vehicle was showing late and that I had not returned it.
