Considering the situation with covid, I strongly believe that the cabs should be cleaned by Uhaul as an extra step on top of the general cleaning the previous user would have done. The unit I received was dusty and had residual stains within. Apart from that, personnel service was great.Neil P.

Terrible service. I rented 10' van and got there , was told it was not available and had to take a 15' costing more for renting and more more gas cost. When called for complaining, the man just hang up on me after 30 mins waiting. Worst service ever I have come across. Do not recommend to any one.yanyan L.

The location messed up my move. I originally booked the truck for 10:00 am and when I got there they said that they did not have a truck for me and that Uhaul made a mistake. I left upset as I paid movers to help and the movers waited there for 3 hours of which I had to pay for. When I got the truck booked again at the same location I had left at 10:00 am and then picked the truck after a representative called the location multiple times to confirm a truck was there by that time it was already 1:00. I lost out on time with the movers and to move and money. Never again. I felt robbedBrian P.

I rented a 10ft boxed truck and was told the cost for the rental would be $19,95 and 0,89/km. I arrived at the destination to pick up the truck only to be told there was no 10ft truck available but a 15ft truck was. I called the 1800 number for uhaul scheduling department to inform the about the issue of no 10ft truck. The lady told me to take the 15ft truck. I told her I'm not paying the price difference for the 15ft truck. She confirmed that I will be charged the prices for a 10ft truck since that's what I rented 19,95 for rental and 0,89/km since this was not my fault. I thanked her and took the 15ft truck. When I went to the truck, I noticed the windshield was cracked from 1 side to the other side. I got in the truck it was filthy and the handle on drivers side was broken. I returned the truck with putting gas in as closely as possible to where it was when i pick it up. I received my invoice via email. I noticed the rental amount was correct but the price per km was incorrect. I was charged $1,43 which is the price for a 15ft truck, I should have be charged 0,89/km. I was also charged for extra gas of $15.00. I called uhaul customer service and spoke to a lady about my unfortunately experience with uhaul and to discuss my invoice. She told me that there is nothing about the price reduction for the kms. Why would I pay the price per kms for a 15ft truck, this whole ordeal is not my fault. The Truck was at less than 1/8th of a tank and about 10k after i left the pickup location the gas light went on, the cab of the truck had old tim's cups and candy bar wrappers. ( not disinfected for covid ) i can assume. the box was a mess the blankets were left all over the back and additional garbage and other mess was left from the last occupant. I spoke with the individual who works at the store he informed me the truck is left as is and ~2 times a week a rep from U-Haul cleans the truck and fills it up... ill be renting from homedepot in the future. 1/10BRENT B.
We had trouble with the bill as we had this for the day and they charged me for 2, also the took the estimated use and deposit from my bank account and then only gave me back the the usage money without the estimated amount they took from me in the morning.DINO P.
The customer service was great. So the people that work the counter at Tom's Food Store are good people, aside from the fact that I had to BUY from THEM a $10 snow brush to clean snow and ice off the truck. ISSUE #1 I've rented trucks and vans before and was always given a full tank of fuel and was required to return it full so I could accurately be billed for fuel used. This place only supplies 1/4 tank of fuel with a rental and with the average person not knowing what equates to a 1/4 tank, on return the customer has to choose between putting in more fuel than used or not enough and being charged a fee. ISSUE #2 Also a MASSIVE inconvenience is NOT being allowed to return the said rented vehicle to ANY other uHaul location with exception to the location you rented from. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF RENTING FROM UHAUL! You will get charged for DOUBLE FUEL AND KM's because of this. If this was not an emergency move for a close friend I would have rented from another company or an ACTUAL uHaul location. It's basically a Circle K that does half-a$$ed uHaul rentals.JAIMEALAN L.

Should be more clear about the fuel gauge. Was told between 3/4 and 7/8. When I filled the fuel and return Ed the vehicle. The Hague was just 3/4. And the staff said need to be more than 3/4. This was a churn, because I have to come back to the gas station. Does Uhall really care about few cents??? If so, why not make very clear statement before lending the vehicle?ping Y.

The customer who returned the truck complained to the dealer they had to clean the truck themselves, and there was a major conflict not only with myself and the dealer, but the customer who returned the truck and the dealer. The dealer would not assist me, to have the truck scheduled to me as it was the wrong truck. Additionally the dealers report with myself and other renters was very poor. After speaking with UHaul customer service they spoke to the dealer and told him to.assign rent me the truck and the issue got resolved, but, it took 1,5hrs. of my time and my movers. So, obviously this was at my expense The product (truck) itself was in good condition and served the purpose of the rental purpose well but the customer service experience with the dealer (Toms' Food Service) was deplorable. That business should NOT be representing the UHaul brand. UHaul should have a better vetting service or training for dealers on how to represent the UHaul brand to customers, and to lend a hand to help when there are issues.Chris A.

The store owner tried to scam us into paying way more then we were supposed to pay. It took us over 1 hour and a half to pick up our truck, plus 3 calls to uhaul customer service to try and get the store owner to listen. He told us he can't change anything on his end, and then continued to change our entire reservation, trying to charge us over 400$ more then our actual reservation price. He tried charging us a deposit, when we have dealt with uhaul many times before and never had to pay a deposit. Uhaul regional manager spoke to him on the phone in front of us and told him our real price, he agreed, then when he hung up he continued to try and charge us the 400$ again. I will never rent a uhaul from this location again, I have never had this bad of an experience, he wasted so much of our personal time and our rental time. I can't express how upset and angry I am that this happened. I was not the only one either who experienced this. While we were in the store, the owner was fighting with an elderly women as well, something needs to be done, this location should not be allowed uhaul privileges.Atef E.

The store clerk was excellent; very friendly and professional. The truck was immaculate; really nice vehicle. The check-in process was not smooth because capturing my driver's license through their mobile website did not work. I miss the good old days when you could furnish your ID in person. Took 20 minutes to basically prove who I am. Ridiculous, but not the store's fault.Darren S.

Excellent Store - HORRIBLE RESERVATION EXPERIENCE. I've booked with U-haul a lot and had some bad experiences. This was the worst. I booked a van and drove from Whitby to Ajax. When I got there they said no vans were available. So I was given a number to call and told the next closest store was 2 km away. When I called, it was 15 mins away (7-10 km). When I got to the other location, they had the car but I lost 45 mins running around. Please fix this immediately!!Mark L.

Also , i had some issues getting the truck by time I got it I was little after my pick up time so the man said I could drop off little later 30-60 mins if need be , I dropped off 30mins late and it was a different man he tried to charge me double price because I was 30 mins late until I said no the guy said I could be late ! 1/10 star for this location !!!Chantal B.

the owner was friendly, but did not help with attaching the trailer, fortunately my friend knew how to do it. I realize it wasn't a U haul location, and maybe that's why he didn't help attach the trailer, but I should have been warned about this ahead of timeKenneth D.
The vehicle was not cleaned or disinfected, I didn't notice it in the evening when I picked it up as it was dark and the area is poorly lit. Found the lid of a large tote along with sand in the cargo. Also found a used water bottle and a plastic bag under the seats. The person in-charge was not rude, but looked uninterested and kept me waiting for 15 minutes. In the end he quietly charged me extra for fuel even though the truck was returned with the same fuel level. He did not mention the extra charge or provide the receipt at the time of returning the vehicle.Sougata P.

It was dark when we picked up the truck. The next morning, we noticed that the interior truck was very dirty and did not appear to be sanitized. This was very surprising considering current COVID Protocols. We sanitized the truck ourselves. Then on the road, the check engine light appeared and the AC was not functioning. I lost 3 hours on hold with Customer Service and at a U-Haul Centre in Toronto. The representative at the center commented on the poor condition of the truck, but could not help us.NAUMAN V.
It was clear that the truck had not been cleaned before I picked it up, so I had to sanitize the steering wheel & other touch points myself, as there was old food wrappers & even worse dirty face masks on the floor. I drove 46 Km's further to pick the truck up when there are 4 locations within 5km's of me, & while I was compensated for the extra kilometres at .89, I was not compensated for the extra gas/time it cost me to have to pick up further away I had ordered furniture pads & only told upon pickup that they weren't available. Your videos show straps to hold furniture, but of course none are provided or offered. Disappointed & will be telling friends it may appear cheaper on paper, but not by the end of the rental.BERNICEH B.
