Almetta BAfter giving 2 customers the wrong units, making us switch units, not being given my access key when i checked in basically being ran in circles for an hour or so then , being ignored by that employee because of his wrongdoing. This was my 2nd time here and i will never be back to uhaul ever. Whoever the guy is (brown skin old short bald guy with messed up teeth) needs to be retrained asap messing 2 people back to back is crazy.

KIM C | Expérience généraleAt pickup, the mobile app would not let me progress beyond the "enter your phone number" screen. It kept saying "that phone number is in use." I don't understand that error... we tried other phone numbers and nothing worked. So, we had to use the counter to check in. The one attendant was on the phone having a conversation with another customer for like 10 minutes, and didn't acknowledge or even make eye contact with us waiting right in front of her. She could have asked the person to hold for a moment to see what we needed. We ordered a hand truck online and there were none available at this location (!!!). We waited another 5 minutes for them to slowly retrieve the 6 bags of packing blankets while they lowkey flirted with each other-- they didn't even help us bring the blankets to the truck after making us late, we had to do it. The truck smelled like rancid garbage inside. After unloading, the lock mechanism on the truck got jammed in the up position and we had to use tools to pry it out and down.

I'm use to the agents completing a final inspection with the customer and checking mileage for general notes & possible reimbursement. None of this was done and agent informed me an email confirmation will be sent as the last step.

JAI YI reserved a appliance dolly, a furniture dolly and a utility dolly. The only dolly available was the furniture dolly. If the the other two dollies were not available why were they available online? I was really upset to be told I can reserve them at another location after coming to the current location to get my move started and completed in the time frame I reserved the truck for. Uhaul locations are not close to have to be inconvenienced like I was.

DELMAR AI had a great experience with the equipment pickup, but there are a few things that would make the experience much better. First, there should be more than one associate working during morning pickups. The young lady was wonderful and very pleasant, but it would have been fabulous if there was another associate to cut down on the wait time. Secondly, the system needs a modification. When I got there, the 20Ft truck that I reserved was no longer available so I had to opt for the 15Ft truck. When the associate changed the truck in the system to get me set on my way, the price did not change in the system. I was charged the price of the larger truck even though I had to rent the smaller vehicle. I had to come back after my rental to get the adjustment made. If I had not seen it on my receipt, then I would have been overcharged. The system should automatically change the price with the different rental.

Tyrian GToo many furniture pads considered I didn't want any of them and they took up a lot of room requiring a second ubox just to fit a couple things….and more blankets. I also wasn't pro rated for only keeping them a few days longer. Staff was incredibly rude and didn't seem to communicate. I showed up to different times to get into the uboxes on the scheduled day and they were not available. I went back once available the following day and the box wouldn't open due to being too close to a pole and parked outside of the parking lines. Very unprofessional staff and poorly managed.

There were minimal problems, over the years. But when there was a problem, the situation was handled quickly and efficiently. I have been with Alliyah and Brandon since the beginning. Their professionalism, kindness and knowledge has been a Blessing!!!!!! These 2 employees are a great asset!!!! I will miss them. In addition to the "front desk" staff I will also miss that beautiful black sister that kept the areas clean. I never knew her name, but I felt her spirit!! Our brief conversations were friendly and kind. I will continue to Pray for her, her mother and the staff.

ROBERT S | Premières impressionsThe customer service Associates at the location was not aware of any online specials or how to connect my storage rental with my truck and Rental so they wind up canceling my online and restarting everything all over I believe I'm overcharged because I never did my online and when they finally gave me the unit number someone else was already renting the unit then I went to another unit and my family members were stuck on the floor of the old unit for over 45 minutes and staff had attitudes because they had to go get my family off the other floor then I came back the next day and couldn't get in the building with the code they gave me because another customer stated that I was supposed to receive a card to have access to the building. The customer service agents never gave me a card until my second day there and I'm praying the young lady said she would have the system wave my second month storage rental fee because of the inconvenience I hope she keeps to her word because I plan to rent another unit on Wednesday and I don't want to go through the same problems again

Ran into issues with information not being documented and confusion around charges, payments etc. It took over a month for the lock on my unit to be cut due to poor communication between staff and no one documenting the order. I'm very glad to leave. The office tends to have a foul smell and at any time I can walk in and find no staff available. I have advised family and friends against using this facility.

The charges have stopped but no refund as of yet. Also, the general manager was very rude and upset that I contacted him on his day off. But, his phone number was on the door. I don't know how much longer it is going to take for my refund but overall, although the staff at this location (except for the manager) were helpful and did try to fix the problem it has yet to be 100 % resolved

Reduced to above average, bc the next morning when I tried to gain entry to store items, I couldn't. Figured I did something incorrectly. Minor glitch until I went to the desk and informed the woman on duty that I had read and followed instructions but access was denied. She asked no questions but began telling me the step by step instructions, I had already performed. To save my time, I started to explain. She snapped, you asked me a question so let me talk. Wrong, I informed her, not asked. She should have asked me, "Tell me what you did to try and gain entry?" At that point my rating would have been Poor. However, she did correctly ask a young female employee to go and assist me. This young lady, who was sweeping and tidying up, politely escorted me, and watched as I used same device I previously used. Same result, entry denied. She assured me that I had done it correctly. She had me try another entry device. Using the same steps, I gained entry. Smiling, I thanked her for her courteous, professional and helpful attitude, and put my load into my unit. As a corporate trainer of customer service skills, I applaud her. Her ability with people is why rating is above average. Perhaps, with her people skills she should be behind the desk, and the other employee should be sweeping and tidying up.

She stole my number from the secure system and called me from a blocked number. Im guessing it was her personal phone since the office number came up with previous calls. The site supervisor was also very rude and did not make himself available after multiple requests to speak to him. Once we spoke, he did not listen to my side and instead accused me of threatening his employees. I wrote to corporate to express my dissatisfaction. I will not be patronizing this location ever again and would advise against anyone else doing so.

So if it's offered to a business owner the it should be offered to a non business owner. And this particular location displayed very disappointing behavior between coworkers. They were literally arguing with one another and cursing each other very loudly in front of quite a few customers. Arguing which caused a delay in service. If this were not a convenient location for us we would NEVER use this location. Very disorganized….

I moved to Philadelphia unknowing the limited amount of space across the city, which led to needing a storage unit for my things that could not fit into my apartment. Upon arrival at day 1, the parking lot was full of incoming movers but the staff was not properly numbered or readily available. One staff member, a black male about 40 years of age, helped myself and my dad unload my things. Since then he'd always been great if he was working while I was at the unit. Other than that, the staff was rude, slow, and not helpful. I had to return to grab miscellaneous items from time to time, so I was there frequently. In early 2022, the staff members called me warning me of a flood in my units. I arrived at the storage to check it out but it wasn't daunting. Each time I came back, however, there was more and more water in the unit until there was a mass flood. It ruined several expensive items, but I've filed a claim and will file an additional one. The staff never offered to move my things into an opened unit although they've been aware of the flooding all year. This hassle has caused my family valuables that money cannot replace. It has also yielded distress and anxiety which I am prone to. Overall I had a terrible experience renting a storage unit here. Hopefully I am refunded for a few months worth as well as receive money from my insurance claims. This has made me not want to use U-Haul ever again.

Brandon didn't have a problem with me returning that key, he had a problem with me wanting a refund. He told me that I would have to pay a late fee if I got the refund and I wanted to know why since my brother has died and they won't let me with his death certificate and my ID since I was the Emergency contact on his storage take his things. Mr. Brandon gave me the refund and while that went on, he went on to tell me that he would auction off his things if I didn't come back and told me to get out. Now, I check my email to find a late fee notice from Mr. Brandon. I will be calling the corporate office. This was a very unprofessional experience...

I also wish that there was some memorium about the building in the building, since it was an iconic site in Philadelphia ( the old TastyKake Bakery). It would give me something to read while Im waiting in the lobby. Otherwise, it felt like my second home for 2 years.

The floors in the entire building aren't level and are made of uneven bricks/tile which makes rolling the dollies difficult. They were testing the fire alarm while I was moving out and it disabled the elevators. Not a huge deal but frustrating when I only rented a truck for a few hours.

I only voiced my facility improvement suggestions (fixing the check-in check-out card reader system, and adding a walkway outside of the building between the dock and customer service sides of the building) in my prior review because U-haul seems to be of a high enough caliber that they could actually act on them without suffering some great loss in profit. Adding the walkway might actually save thousands or tens of thousands in future claims. Outside of those minor suggestions pertaining to the facility, great experience. Very competitively priced storage, great customer service at that location, and the convenient on site availability the moving vehicles and equipment one tends to think of when you hear or see U-Haul.

They're f*cking crooks and the manager Donovan looks like a stoner thats why he couldn't read all the emails that customer service sent him about me moving out the unit along with his staffs notes.

He went over and beyond to make certain I found the storage unit and did it with a smile. But this is not my first visit to this site. I currently and began using this facility to store my son's items. I have found all the employees who have assisted me to be very friendly, helpful, and conduct themselves very professionally even under very busy and stressful situations. Unfortunately, I wish that while I am filling out this comment form that I could reach Brian Phillips the Field Manager of the Philadelphia Area, and make a comment about the U-Haul Facility on 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage. I am very disappointed with the way business is handled over there; very sketchy with handling their affairs of over-charging, and the building storage definitely needs a total overhaul of a makeover. The floors are so flimsy that it makes you feel like you might fall through them the moment you step on the floors. I have had a couple of bad experiences with them and I feel that it isn't a good reputation of what U-Haul represents. This is the second time I had to escalate an issue to Mr. Phillips and he had to authorize a refund for this place trying to rip me off. First, the storage on January 9, 2021, and then because there wasn't an available van for moving at 2801 Hunting Park the customer service told me the closest was 4663 Stenton. I figured that my first experience in January was enough, but to just pick up a van couldn't be too bad...but oh, it was. When I returned the van, children were at the front desk playing to the computer and handling my business and the manager who took care of me in the first place was nowhere to be found and the children have the phone to contact him as if they were a liaison to doing business with me. Only to find out the next day I was overcharged for my mileage and the original order that I put in online to save time was canceled and the manager created a new one when there was no need to. I had come in with the paperwork and confirmation that was filed online. Again I say, sketchy and not upfront honesty is delivered at this site. So my experience with 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage - first time "Shame on them" and they made me a believer the second time to "not do business with them "EVER". So traveling a little more distance to 2801 Hunting Park is worth my time and money, for sure. I do hope that Brian Phillips gets to read this comment that I took time to fill out. Merci.

The store experienced a flood and I didn't know the facility was still open. I contacted the 1800 number and then the manager specifically for this information after I had not heard back two days later. I explained that the streets surrounding were blocked off and he called me a liar. I told him "instead of calling me a liar why not explain to me how to get there." When I began naming the entry points that were all blocked off, he said he refused to help me and he hung up the phone unnecessarily. I had to contact his supervisor for an answer to a very simple question. On move out day, one of the seats in the truck ripped my pants, I spoke to a staff member who was extremely helpful and gave me the number to file a claim. The staff member said I could speak to the GM about it but I didn't even feel comfortable doing so after our first encounter. This certainly changed the way I look at Uhaul and I highly doubt that I'll be using them anytime soon.

This was happening while I had hired help there to unload my truck into the unit. I have called the general manager's cell phone twice to request a temporary reduced rate for the unit we took to make it comparable to the unit I had reserved. He has not returned my call. The staff at the desk were friendly, but had to handle many customers and were not able to address my request. The facility itself is nice and clean. Eventually, I hope I can provide a stronger endorsement.

Although my driver's license was renewed and unexpired, due to Covid I only had the paper license showing the renewal and 2024 expiration date. PA allows the paper to be carried with the old photo license to show proof of id. This, however, was not accepted by the manager to rent a truck and he offered no other solution to rent a truck. Despite paying $200/month to Uhaul via auto pay for more than 2 years, I could not rent a truck from UHaul to move my property. Uhaul's shortsightened response to my situation forced me to make other arrangements to move my property.

Although I had rented a 6th floor unit online, there were none available when I got there. The manager gave me a unit # for a 6th floor unit, but when I came back with the movers a few hours later, that unit had a lock on it. The office was extremely busy and it was difficult to get attention to the issue that I had no place to move in. William was able to find an open unit on the 5th floor and helped the movers get access to both the 6th and 5th floors since now they needed to bring full carts from the 6th floor to the 5th floor. With the busy office, the moving of floors and the overall confusion about the unit I ended up using and paying the movers for at least another hour. Additionally, that morning when I picked up the 15' truck the manager had told my to avoid the waterlogged bay and drive through the garage door. However, when I tried to do that the clearance of the 15' truck was too high. The manager who rented me the truck should have known that.

After making my reservation online- I called the facility to discuss office and access hours given I would be arriving in Philadelphia later in the evening- the person who answered the phone hung up on me 3 times mid conversation. She also did not offer me to try to set up 24 hour access by paying $10 extra and told me "don't show up here before 9." I thought that was unprofessional. When I got to the facility at 9am I had to wait 2 hours in line prior to getting my storage unit. Very disappointing. I had to return the U-Haul Trailer I had rented and due to the wait my time went over and I had to pay another days worth of rental costs. Overall I thought the communication was poor and customer service lacked professionalism. Although the young lady that helped me at the counter when my turn finally came was very nice.
