I want to highlight Logan who is always available to assist with any questions or changes to my reservation. Next up is Angel. Got the paperwork processed and I was on my way. Wayne JThe price was no where close to the price I was quoted online. The truck was unsafe to drive and had a very bad wobble going over 40 mph anytime. I didn't use the blankets or dolly and they still charged. Guys at UHaul said it was part of the contract and they couldn't edit it.

thomas bThe location staff were accommodating and kind. I'm extremely unhappy with corporate U-Haul and some of the policies in place. I received a call the day before I was scheduled to pick up the U-Haul, to move, and was told that the truck I had reserved 3 weeks prior was unavailable. The closest truck available was at least an hour's drive away from where I live and I would have had to pick up the truck from that location. Why does anyone think that only informing your customers 24 hours before their reservation that what they reserved is not actually available? It's 2024, your reservation booking software should have been able to tell me that what I wanted to reserve was not available. I asked why no one was informed earlier and the lady told me it's policy to only contact customers 24 hours in advance. If someone is renting a U-Haul on a specific date, typically it's because they need it on that date. If it's not available, then other arrangements need to be made. It just makes no sense to a. let me make that reservation to begin with, and b. only let me know 24 hours before I was scheduled to pick it up. For those reasons, I won't be using U-Haul again. I'd also like to be very clear, this was not an issue with the location that I picked the truck up from but with corporate. Do better for your customers.

MAUREEN SUHAUL on Raymond in Pasadena could take lessons from the Altadena location. Manager 'Logan' in Altadena is exceptional. Pasadena seems understaffed, and staff member sullen when finally contacted. After a customer wait, none of 3 car carriers there were available for a 2hr rental.

The BIG issue I have is having to inspect and take pictures of the vehicle which took at least 15/20 minutes before departing. It' should be done with an agent or at least prior inspections should by U-Haul should be more thorough. Aside from one area marked with x's, there was significant damage to the vehicle that was not documented by U Haul prior to. Several dents in the roof. I happened to be thorough about my inspection but if it were some who was unable to inspect like myself, they may have been accused of damage which was not of their doing. This is a sketchy policy that U-Haul has now. Also, upon checking my receipt, I found I was charged for gas which I should have not been. I went back and spoke to the agent and he refunded the difference. When I showed him the invoice, it was more than obvious that I should have not been charged. This should have not happened in the first place. If I hadn't checked my invoice thoroughly, I would've paid out for something I shouldn't have. I have used U-Haul numerous times over the years. It's obvious, U-Haul is becoming another no-service, service company. A pass the buck company. Taking less responsibility for good confident service and cutting corners.

Paul KThe discovery that my spare tire was not properly secured was a glaring indication of the mechanic's incompetence. The fact that a so-called professional could overlook such a basic task is alarming. My concern escalated when I found out that the Tow Hitch bolt was loose enough to be unscrewed by hand, and further inspection revealed an entirely missing bolt on the other side. This isn't just an oversight; it's a blatant disregard for safety standards. Rest assured, I have meticulously documented this negligence and will be seeking legal advice on how to proceed next.
Roman SLogan the manager is so friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I am a fairly regular renter from this location and he is always very personable. I used to be regular renter from another location and never had particularly good experiences with the staff there. Altadena is the best!
Lark FThere was a definite lack of communication. We brought our car in to have a trailer hitch and wiring installed in a 2021 Honda Pilot with OEM trailer towing wiring. I expected the install to have a hitch installed, pretty simple, and a 7 way brake controller wiring which cost about $92 dollars for the wiring harness which would "plug in" to the OEM towing harness, plus $60 dollars installation. We arrived around 12 noon, around 2 hrs before our originally scheduled drop off time. We were told it might take 2,5 hrs to install and they would "call" us when it was done. Come 6pm no call and no message so we piled in our other car and headed to the "dealership" and called the local phone number. The local number transferred immediately to the national call center so we couldn't talk to them. On the way we discovered a text at 4,15 or so that a message was sent saying the car was ready and we could pick it up. Given that the total amount of the install cost $444,16 of which there was a $120 install cost for a plug and play hitch plus tightening of 6 bolts that fit the car's frame's predrilled holes I was expecting a perfect install. So when I finally got there at 6,16 due to rush hour traffic, I was suprised that the the hitch was installed and the wiring was a 4 way with no bracket. When I went inside there was no one there and I spent my time reading the wall mount display about "hitch and wiring" installation. When the "attendent" did come in and out I flagged him down to say I was there to pick up a hitch install. I confronted him about the lack of a 7 way bracket and wiring and he said that they didn't have that in stock so didn't install it. It was still on the bill at the full price. He said they could install it later but it wasn't on the "order" we had put in on the "internet" order and we could put it in at a "later date". It was obviously he was overwhelmed with 3 trucks waiting to be returned so I asked where I could get the 7 way plug and the bracket and he referred me to a nearby Uhaul center where they "usually" had more "parts" than he did. His "excuse" was that a customer would normally have ordered the 7-way wiring online and it would have been installed or if not part of the internet order he would call the customer to ask if that was what was wanted. Sadly he admitted none such wiring harness was available anyway and that was why he didn't call. So let me be clear, I was expecting a perfect install on this vehicle but it was not. The invoice shows a "Quick Connect Honda Pilot" harness at a cost of $91,95 which I suppose was the 7-way with a bracket I was expecting but was not installed. I later went back to the Uhaul web site to recreate the order to see if I had ordered the wrong wiring configuration and I had not. The "attendant" was incorrect in what he had told me that there was a "separate" box to check to have a bracket and 7 way installed. Thus this recommendation about the confusing method of ordering online and the confusing "communication" or lack there of with the location who forwarded their phone to the national center and was not answering the phone locally to handle any problems. Marvin KI wanted to rent a trailer but I was not allowed to because the light function wouldn't work. I had the hitch installed by uhaul and the cord that operated the lights was not properly installed and came out and was dragging under my car. I took it to the uhaul that last hooked up my trailer and told him about the cord needing to be fixed and he said it had to be cut out so he did. I tired to make a pick up for the same location so they could fix it but a U-Haul representative called to say the location wasn't available and reassigned me to a different location. I asked about the cord to the representative and she said they will fix it upon pick up. the location I was supposed to pick up from didn't even have the trailer available so I had to drive 35 min away to location that did and ask about the cord after they told me I couldn't take the trailer and said their manger who does the wiring called out and no one on site could do it. I asked if another uhaul in the area does it and he said no uhaul provides that service on Saturdays. So I was forced to rent a truck because I had movers booked and couldn't reschedule. I initially was supposed to pay $55-57 for the trailer and the dolly rentals. My final bill was $97 plus the $20 I spent on gas to reset the tank. That is $60 more then I should have had to spend due to no fault of my own. I want a refund for the inconvenience and negligence. I'm fine with paying the initial amount I was quoted for the trailer.
