At check in was okay. Rushed out the door nothing explained. At return the new gentle man said hi & said I be right w/you. Thank you to the new guy. Which I had no problem waiting for. Some older guy came from inside and grab my keys and says let me move the van. I'm like um I haven't been helped yet. Then he moves the van I'm waiting for 5 mins then he moves it back and goes miss the gas is not at the line where we gave it to you. You can go full it to where it suppose to be at or we going to charge you $15. I'm like I filled it to the line that you put on the paper he's like no it's a bit off he says I know ive been doing this for 5 years. I said okay and I know what I see it's right on the line. So I'm like okay I'll be back so go I and put more gas. Which it went pass the line he wanted and then when I come back the gentle man that 1st said hi to me came and helped me and said sorry for the way he spoke to you earlier what was the reason he sent you off. I explain to him about the gas it wasn't where he wanted. He was a lil rude and he says sorry again. The older guy comes out of no where and gets in the van and says you fix it. I was like Yea and the new guy says I'm checking her out now or do you want to finish it & the older guy goes no you can finish it & goes inside. I'm like wow is he this rude or is it because I'm not white and preppy looking like people from this area. I will be taking my business else where. I have never had this bad of experience with uhaul before but there's always a Karen everywhere.
Margarita AEven though it was free for the first month, our unit was so far from the entrance door, plus broken alarm system and ongoing alarms were unbearable. Once we finally figured out how to get in the facility and located our unit, we got back in our vehicle and left. It would've been helpful if we had drive-up access that we were expecting to unload our trailer, like every other storage unit we had.

Gilbert CStreamline the rental process further. I setup my rental online. Then I go to the location and wait in line while the staff struggle with apps that aren't working while trying to take a picture of my license. If Uhaul need that I suggest you incorporate it and anything else needed in the online rental. Then at the store the clerk should be able to simply look up at the customer to confirm ID.
Richard TSomeone stole the bottom of my out board.motor, $2000 to replace. After being there ten years, they had my boat and trailer towed, without notifying me. I knew it was towed because the tow company sent me a registered letter. This cost me$1400. I think my lawyer fees will be included to this soon. I will not drop this.

I was acknowledged, the staff were friendly, and I was offered to leave my information to return the vehicle. I was told I would receive an email with my invoice/receipt - I did receive it and was very pleased with the pickup and return process.

Anthony AWhile we didn’t get the truck exchanged promised by UHaul traffic customer service, this location did help us out and the box truck was clean and in good shape.
ANTHONY RWe were there for about 45 minutes trying to pick up our rental because they couldn't figure out how to charge for a roll of tape and the rental- put us our entire order in lala land and had to wait for a manager who was working with someone else. Once he was finally available- (the other 3 couldn't help) we got to get our vehicle. It was ridiculous.

Seemed to me like it didn't communicate with corporate or other U-Haul systems because it took a while to locate that I paid for the hitch online. I do have to say though that the manager Jon did a Fantastic job of making sure everything was taken care of so I was impressed with him!

JOSEPH HThere was an unnecessary delay getting the keys when checking in with the mobile app. The employee was on the phone with another customer and asked me to wait believing he had to do something in the system before giving me the keys. Then, there were no hand-tracks available even though I was able to reserve one. A suitable substitute was provided.

serg tThis uhaul rental was the worst experience of my rental-ing life!!! First no one inspected the truck with me. No one started it up and let me hear it. Nothing was done to Check the vehicle with an employee - they sent me out there to do it by myself and I didn't know to start the vehicle up??!! When I finally got the truck later-- it sounded like a damn diesel. It was so loud, but it wasn't. It was a gas truck -- just sounded horrible. I demanded that U-Haul have it inspected before I would drive it from Florida to North Carolina and y'all did have a mechanic come and look at it and it did get me to North Carolina -- but it was loud and sounded like a clunk of junk the whole way… Further, nothing on it was electric not the locks not the windows , there was no cruise control !!!!! I had to drive from Fernandina Beach Florida to Murphy North Carolina without any cruise control!!! This is the worst trip of my life thanks all to your crappy truck!!!! #unhappyuhaulcustomer

Zoltan TThere was some problem in dropping the truck off after hours they called and asked that I turned it in during working hours that I had to turn it in during working hours and then they refuse to rent me a van for local use so I as to keep the 10-ft truck at first they refuse to let me keep the same truck so I just forgot it for the day and waited till the next day and talk to someone else and they had me come there during working hours and they checked in my 10-ft truck and leased me another 10 ft truck the fellow that waited on me was very nice very patient and very quick to get the truck turned in and the new truck leased he was an excellent employee for U-Haul

Just seems a bit unorganized in the office, but everyone was still friendly and tried to help. Just seemed like there was a lack of communication between staff.

GREGORY G | Online Move Inthe general manager was highly unprofessional and unfriendly. poor customer service from most of the staff but not all. claimed to be climate controlled but was usually around 85 degrees in the building. our unit was on the second floor and the elevator didn’t work half the time. was not told upon renting the unit that insurance was mandatory but after two months of having the unit, the general manager called me and insisted i take the unit insurance. overall terrible experience with the storage at amelia island, would never recommend to any friends of mine.

The one and only elevator was out for three days. The front automatic doors stuck and I had to pry them open. All in front of staff members! The staff, although friendly, were useless to assist myself (I am almost 80 yoa) or another customer whose unit was on the second floor and she walked with a cane. All we got was sorry about the door - sorry about the elevator. Come back another day. Absolutely unacceptable! I would never rent from this location again. It's a blight on the UHaul name. I won't forget it the next time I need storage.

The entrance off TJ Courson is full of pot holes. I broke a weld on my outboard mount on one of these. Need to patch some pot holes or resurface in spots in the lot.

Steven W | Expérience généraleThe staff there are great, only complaint being that the bathrooms are not kept up/clean. However, a woman who was there dealing with the fire and subsequent damage was a wretched human being. I was away on a trip when the incident happened and when I called concerned over my belongings, she was rude, inattentive, unconcerned and a flat out horrible person. She informed me that my unit and contents had been damaged, ruining my trip and making me come home early to deal with it, only to find out that my unit was not damaged and my belongings were fine and my sleepless nights, days of worry, and cutting my trip short was not necessary had this woman properly handled the situation. I spent years running marinas, and when you are storing someone's property, and something happens to their property under your care, you don't treat them how I was treated. I wouldn't even say this woman needs additional training as I believe it would be worthless. She should be terminated from your employment. To make sure I am being clear - this woman does not work at the location. She was there to deal with the incident. How could your company send someone like that to deal with something that personal to your customers? Shame on her and your company for employing such a person.

Direct debit was never set up correctly, after we provided several payment options and phone calls and visits to the office. Then sent letters to our family members demanding payment though we had given them our debit card numbers more than three times!! Resulting in "late fees" that were removed as if they were doing us a favor due to their incompetence to properly complete forms and charge correctly. Then once the fire occurred, no compensation was offered though they allowed someone to have flammable materials in their unit directly across from our valuables. Zero accountability for any mistakes made on site. Moved our things out as soon as we possibly could. Will be vocal about our disappointment with our colleagues and in online reviews.

You guys don't have bolt cutters on site? Seems you would need some way to open locks on units that were abandoned and was told at front desk that you do in fact use bolt cutters to get into these units. But we couldn't use them.... so we had to call a locksmith.

Only one available, battery was good, but code to enter into computer was faded and therefore illegible. After two guesses that did not work we decided to use the keypad option instead of fab. Please keep these items plentiful and replaced or do not offer them. Again, staff was good, they just didn't have working equipment. I had to go back and forth to the office. Fortunately there were only a few other people in the store and the clerks were able to respond to my problem in a timely manner.

I rented the unit bc I was going to move to a smaller house. My plans changed and I wasn't going to use it right away, but I had others plans of using it. But I was paying for it so I could've used it whenever I needed it. I believe I was taken advantage of and paid for something they decided I no longer wanted.

When I got to the Uhaul they stated they didn't have the unit I reserved but they had a smaller unit they could offer me, I looked at the unit and accepted it because what other choice did I have with a uhaul full of furniture with no where else to go. The employee called his supervisor and he offered me a free month of rent but I also returned a Uhaul so that automatically qualified me for a free month (the employee told me that) so I actually didn't receive anything for my troubles but a smaller storage unit. The employee I dealt with was friendly and helped as much as he could but Uhaul needs to a better job at checking reservations and making sure units that already reserved are not being rented out by other individuals.
