The double emergency contact seems a little excessive.
Jason COvercharged ( uhaul agent mis-entered mileage (more than actual) which caused an overcharge and then completed the sale PRIOR to me authorizing it( i found the error) . Overcharge could not be adjusted at the store, required intervention by a regional manager, who refunded the incorrect/ insufficient amount( did not refund the incorrect OVER mileage charge , just adjusted the original contract amount.

Scott WIt was ridiculous that I needed to have 2 separate people that they can call to verify my identity before I could rent the actual truck. This is intrusive and if I knew this before renting I would not have chosen to rent from this location. I am a 47 year old man, and this is the first time I have ever had something like this happen in my life. Unbelievable that I can rent a vacation home with less intrusiveness than renting a U-Haul truck.

CLAYTON KThe van that I rented smelled of cigarettes to the point that it was overwhelming. With that said however, your counter rep Mr. Robinson was amazing. By far the entire experience was excellent due to Robinson. A true consummate professional. If you haven't already, I would employ Robinson to train other employees regarding customer service. His professionalism, patience and common courtesy was outstanding! I'd give a perfect rating if it wasn't for the moble ashtray I had to drive. The rate, ease of paperwork and overall experience was great. Thanks Robinson for the assistance. I hope you get the recognition you absolutely deserve.

She made a stressful situation into a bearable and even enjoyable experience. My only frustration was not being able to return the 15' truck that I drove 3 600 miles at the same place as my storage unit, so I had to go to another U-Haul location to return the truck. It would have been nice to be able to return truck to same location as reserved storage location but they said the lot was full. Thanks

ROBERT BChristine & Ben are great managers and easy to work with. The facility is clean and well maintained. However Uhaul raised their rates at least once a year. Not a few dollars but like 10 or more. It has become completely unaffordable. I am getting out ASAP

John COur experience far exceeded our expectations. We we going into the rental process thinking it would be another U-Haul rental. Let me see, the experience is one you would never forget. Christina was fantastic during the check in and pick up. Very kind, professional, caring and informative. The gentleman that helped us when dropping off was awesome as well. Again, very kind, polite and professional. Would definitely rent from this location in the future.

Lance W | Expérience généraleOur little startup church was one of the original customers to move in to StorageOne over 15 years ago. We loved StorageOne and the owner and we had an excellent relationship for our first few years onsite. Then Uhaul took over and regularly moved the in-residence operators in and out, raised prices over time from $79 month to almost $249 a month while not using new revenues to invest in or upgrade entry doors, streets and gates, or paint, or hallway lighting over many many years. Horrible business model to forceout/overprice/take advantage of legacy founding customers who helped pay for the place while not investing back into the facility and not providing service excellence. I hated to leave but was forced out by people who do not care about their customers, only focused on the bottom line business. My advice to the owner is - (1) hire great people who understand and can implement and maintain focus on the customer experience and (2) upgrade the facility with new lighting and new technologies and (3) level set prices to market comparison and competitors who are invested in numbers 1 and 2 ahead of you.

CHRISTOPHER MMy experience was great. The man who checked in and delivered the truck to me was very friendly, cheerful, and polite, and the young woman who received the truck back from me was equally so. You have good people there. The only thing I did not care for was the truck itself. Too many weird, newfangled things in the new trucks. Absolutely despise the auto stop engine feature in the newer vehicles. Makes me insane. Don't like the push button start either. The auto bright on the headlights was equally irritating. Still no idea what the little row of red lights up on the dash in front of the wheel is for but it went off one time for whatever reason… My personal truck is a 2001 Chevy. I still have manual windows and automatic lock sensor that I have an option not to use. And I don't. Maybe I am just getting too old for this unnecessary crap… Anyway, thanks for a great experience, I will definitely come back if I need to!

Debra W | Expérience généralePaid more in fuel then I needed to. The file gauge needle never moved even after driving almost 50 miles. But I knew I needed to refuel. Turns out I spent 20 in gas that I didn't need to. The needle NEVER moves even after filling it up, so it seems it was broken. I topped off the gas. When 42 miles and paid for 4,3 gallons of gas, that's 10 miles per gallon. Disappointed that I paid way in more gas then necessary beucase the fuel needle didn't move.

nathan cI chose this location due to close proximity to my residence. I rented a 15 ft truck to move my daughter from an apartment. It was a hot day 118 to be exact and the air conditioning worked initially but then stopped working. I rented the vehicle for 24 hrs and returned it within 6 1/2 hrs. When I returned the vehicle, I advised the representative there was an issue with the AC. I asked for some sort of compensation in return. The vehicle I rented should have had AC especially in Arizona. He advised I needed to speak to the Manager/owner Christine in the am. I was contacted by Christine who advised me the AC worked fine. I asked her why would I lie. She tested the truck at 90 degrees F not 118. The vehicle obviously needed Freon. It also had approximately 140 000 miles on it. Considering the amount of money I spent to rent the vehicle, you would have thought they would meet me not even halfway, but some sort of reimbursement for renting a truck with no AC. Christine would not consider it and told me I should have contacted roadside assistance. Who has time on a deadline to call for an AC repair/ roadside assistance? You call roadside assistance for a flat tire or engine issues. Not AC. It is the businesses responsibility to provide a full working vehicle. Customer service at this location is like dealing with robots. I would never recommend this location to anyone. Last year I rented a Penske truck for less than what I paid here. Again it was for convenience sake. I will not ever make this mistake again. Big disappointment! I would rate this location zero stars!

PRICILLA WTotally disappointed in the entire rental situation and will actually recommend not going to this location and if possible don't even use U-Haul if an other choice would be available. I am currently going on Ten Years consecutive have monthly rent one to four storage units at a time and will be looking for an other option as of next month, I am totally disappointed as this has been someplace I completely trust and feel that is no longer possible. Had to call the main customer service line to get reservation on Sunday morning before open hours for the 24/7 hour service that U-haul promises. Called this location on the Friday before my reservation to ensure that I understood the U-haul self pick up instructions. Spoke to a young gentleman that seem unsure if the process himself, but reassured me that it is easy and I will be able to pick up my reserved van the Sunday morning even before the store opens. This was not the case and had to go to a different location. U-haul needs to make sure their computer system matches what each location offers; otherwise, I cannot see myself recommending this service to anyone else.

James JMy experience with U-Haul in Gilbert was absolutely first rate. Storing valuables in summer weather in AZ can be a challenge. The fact that the units were climate controlled and very clean was what drew me to this facility. My belongings stayed safe and protected from heat damage for over two years during the pandemic and record summer heat. Michelle oMay 30: I notified Ben in person that I have moved out of the storage unit, removed my lock, returned the gate key & would like to close my account. Ben said he would send me an email re: account closure after his walkaround to confirm I moved out. Never received email of account closure. June 5: I received an email that payment had not been received for the storage unit and I would be charged a late fee. Assumed Ben had not completed requested actions. I called the office & spoke with Chelsea (?) who fixed the issue once I explained the situation. In the future, check-out should be done upon request to avoid late fees & account charges in error.

Alfred GThe manager failed to inspect my unit within the 30 minute time frame he said he would on May 29. Two days later he still had not completed this and left on his honeymoon. The result of this was my being charged for an additional month. The temporary manager basically told me that it wasn't her problem and I would be refunded in 7-10 days. I had budgeted this money for a plane ticket for my son. This caused a huge problem for my family!!

A good tug pops the door open without using an access card or code, but it's not as bad since new management took over. All the other entryways are tightly secure for building A. . Some work was done to secure this entrance, but in my opinion these doors need replaced due to the abuse by tenants over the years. First time ever - 5pm Building A-SE Elevator stopped working with me in it. Doors wouldn't open immediately after pushing buttons, but they did eventually open. I used the other elevator with the uneven platform entry point. I bring this up because the moving cart hits the unevenness of the entryway causing loaded carts to be jostled around every time. It would be nice if the cart could roll in easily. Overall I still give the newest unit a 4/5. Over 10 years a 4,5/5. Great facility!

Louis B | Expérience généraleI have been with this particular Uhaul for around 3-3,5 years. I have been there through the raises in storage rent. I lost my key and couldn't find it. I spoke over the phone with a kind young man and he assured me that they could help. I drive down there and the two men on the office inform me that he (the young man I spoke to on the phone) was incorrect. They don't have anyway to help me and I would have to hire a locksmith. I asked why other uhauls could assist, but this one can't. One of the men said that the manager is the only one that can make exceptions. The manager was right there and heard what we were discussing. He said no, I needed to hire a locksmith. I got my stuff out of there as soon as possible. Being able to locate a spare key after moving. I would not recommend this facility based on the lack of care for customers. I wasn't in such a hurry to get things out of the unit until this situation.

On Monday the 16th I received an email stating if I did not start paying and move in right then I would not have a storage unit. I paid for 3 days of storage while I traveled to AZ. Also, I was charged for the "free" lock. Kinda shady if you ask me, So my free month of storage is 3 days shorter,

I guess he doesn't even work there according to the employee. Guy who threatened us seemed paranoid or on drugs as we definitely were not looking in his windows , we had no clue it was even a residence! I almost cancelled even keeping the unit because of his physical appearance and threats. Not someone I would have represent your company but then again he doesn't even work there at that facility. What a liability and hopefully all this is considered if the choice to keep such a person as an employee.

I thought this was my free 1 month. Then they sent me a letter saying my payment was late and charged me for a late fee. Also they will let you reserve a truck online and charge you for it, even if the truck is not available. As soon as you pay online they will call and switch you to another truck and location. Very shady.

When i was ready to take advantage of that service, the manager said i could not put stuff in their dumpster nor was he interested in trying to help me solve my problem as I needed to start driving across the country. Very poor customer service by the manager. I emailed the owner, Shawn, and he resolved my problem. The drive home was ruined as I was six hours behind schedule. Owner was great. Manager was not helpful at all. I was told the dumpster was an option. Every decision I made was based on that. The manager told me it wasn't an option and he didnt care that I was told it was. He said, "I'm sorry, I can't do anything for you." My stuff was stored there for 21 months at $130 a month. I deserved better from him.

David B | Online Move InI inadvertently put 2 locks on my storage unit. I received a call from an employee at this facility telling me I needed to remove one of the locks. I asked why and he explained the 2nd lock position was for them to use to lock me out if I did not pay my bill. I said I would remove it as soon as I could. He called back the next day telling me I needed to remove the lock. I told them was no urgency as the bill was not due for weeks and hung up. He called me again the next day and told me if I did not remove the lock by Monday he was going to cut the 2nd lock off and charge me $30 for the lock removal. This was weeks before the end of the month. It was his behavior that led to my decision to move my storage to another facility.
