Upon arriving to pick up my rental, I was asked for my drivers license and produced my Louisiana state issued drivers license via the LA Wallet app. I was told the U-Haul software could not accept this electronic version. I had to drive back home to retrieve my physical license, delaying my plans for the day. The U-Haul software should be modified to accept e-versions of drivers licenses; many states have gone to e-versions. If not, it should be clearly stated when you make a reservation that e-versions of drivers licenses will not be accepted.

I asked for the hand dollie to be removed but was told it was against company policy. This made it hard for me loading large pallets into the truck. One side was a hump and the other side was the handdollie. Was not happy.

I had a horrible experience. The first U-Haul had previous damage to the door and the second U-Haul had not been cleaned and filled with trash from previous customer.

They were amazing, sweet, knowledgeable, Willing to go the extra mile to help me with the issues I was having with the truck . The gentleman who was assisting me on 03/04/2024 needs a raise or bonus not one time did he make me feel like it was the other store issue and you need to call them . He helped me with everything like it was his store that made the mistake. I am forever grateful to him for taking the time, energy, and patience with me I walked in the store very angry, but he turned everything around I left the store with a smile on my face. My reservation was for a drive up unit, however, when I arrived, I was told my reserved unit was not available. I was given an unit on the second floor with no elevator nor dolly available for rental. This was very frustrating. If uhaul would have notified me of this, when I made the reservation, I could have made other arrangements. Don't wait until someone shows up, then inform them their previously reserved unit is not available.

My reserved drive up unit was not available. Should have been told before arrival. Overall this truck rental and storage rental was not one of my best experiences with uhaul. Uhaul should communicate with their customers when their reservations can't be fulfilled as reserved.

Ensure that equipment has good tires around. I traveled through a lot of water, and it felt like the van lost traction on many occasions. I did not feel safe. To me, the tires were not in good shape. For that reason, I have to give this not-so-great rating.

The representative I dealt with was knowledgeable and friendly as was the guy who helped me hook up the trailer. The store itself had a good variety and supply of products inside, such as packing materials, and the overall experience was a good one. The only negative aspect of this store is the location/traffic. Perhaps I was just there at an oddly busy time for that street but there was a line of traffic on the side street waiting to get on the highway, normally this wouldn't be any concern but at this location you have to go out onto that street to drive from the front of the store to the back of the store to pickup your trailer. ..I will say though that at least the locals (some at least) were polite enough to let me through, I did have to drive over the opposite curb an onto the grass to make the turn with traffic present but my pickup doesn't turn sharply at all so maybe someone in a cuv/suv wouldn't have that problem.

The gas reading was wrong said it had more in it then there was maybe do a good walk around on the truck. Truck was loud with engine noise the whole time while driving it. We rented a dollie only to find out it wasn't in the truck when we got to packing it. Called and was told they don't rent Dollie's for a 1 way. Would have been nice knowing that when we rented one. Truck was very uncomfortable

Make sure vehicle doesn't have problems that can and do cause concern for customers, such as electrical issues and leaking doors. Make it clear that in order to use the app to p/u the equipment that the customer MUST be on/at the rental facility.

I arrived to my scheduled appointment and was told to come back the next day since the person who installs them wasn't there. I was frustrated since I had taken time off work, but I came back the next day. The hitch was installed, but took longer than expected to the point where I was late to work since I did not take that day off. The wiring for the hitch lights were defective so I had to make another appointment at a different location to get those installed. This whole process has taken three days when it should only take a couple hours.

Nothing at all could improve the service I received today. Everything went very fast with the young lady who was working your front desk. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me very thoroughly and I was totally shocked how quick and easy it was. It was also very quick and easy to return the vehicle later this evening. I definitely would come back to this location from now on. Please do not change a thing, because renting it and returning it went entirely too fast, which I was on a time schedule and that worked out great for me. Both of your associates were very polite, pleasant, neat, and clean/cut people. Excellent experience with U-Haul today, from start to finish. Joe R.

I rented 2 cargo vans on our corporate acct. And when we went to pick up, there were two vans there but we were only able to have one. The second van was "Not Available"....because apparently the Keys were missing!!

I have frequented this location twice and my experience with them has been generally favorable. One slight issue I had with this visit is I was told there were no trailers capable of moving a couch and that I would need to rent a truck. However when I went to retrieve the truck there were several trailers available with more than enough room for a couch. Not sure if they were already reserved or if the person at the desk was misinformed but a 5 x 8 or 5x 10 would have been more than enough.

I was told absolutely nothing about the self check in on the mobile app, it was not explained to me I would be charged a check in fee, I was charged for 2 days although I only had the van for a couple of hours. The store manager was not helpful in resolving the issue of my card being charged for an extra day. I think there needs to be some retraining of the employees on at bare minimum, because the process wasn't explained, I was just to to bring the van back and park it, not that I would be charged a service fee for doing so.

During the time my belongings were stored with U-Haul, my rental rate went up six times with the following statement as an explanation for the increase: $1 990 in additional charges based on this statement in each letter notifying me of an increase: "My staff and I pride ourselves on maintaining a clean, dry, and secure self-storage facility and are dedicated to improving your storage experience. We complete daily inspections of the property to proactively improve facility maintenance and security, as well as conduct a monthly pest control program to adhere to our superior cleanliness standards." In the end, I paid an additional $1 990 for this promise of cleanliness and pest control. But when I came with movers to clear out my storage unit on 7/24/23, I discovered that every piece of upholstered furniture, carpets, wooden items, art, and some clothing had all been destroyed by vermin. While the staff was friendly and helpful and the insurance I'd paid for covered most of the damage, I am angry that I paid $1 990 for enhanced cleanliness and pest control under completely false pretenses; if the management at that time had actually done what they promised in exchange for higher rent, my belongings wouldn't have been destroyed. I feel ripped off, and I certainly would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Spoke on the phone with one of your representatives was clear about my concern that uhaul had sent me a message saying I've been moved out of my unit without my knowledge when I've only had it for a week. The representative continued to speak to me with an attitude and stated "call back when the manager is in"

The light doesn't work. There was no lock in the unit like my correspondence told me there would be - had to talk to associate, it was in my truck. The door is rusty & I believe it's undersized.

There was an a very obvious rodent problem…all my person belongings were either eaten up by or pooped on by rats. Literally paid almost $200 a month for my stuff to be destroyed

Only improvement would be some sort of elevator system to access 2nd floor. If this location wasn't so conveniently located, I would have definitely chosen somewhere else that didn't have stairs.

Storage unit was not I-315 climate control . Some wood pieces had mold, the rats were horrible they pee, poo,chewed clothing etc. Just had I did not have to leave merchandise any longer…When speaking to a worker they mentioned he do not go in the units. Well it's over and glad to return home in Alabama…Would recommend but tell them to check storage periodically.

We reserved a climate control large unit, when we arrived there was only one unit available which was not climate control and very small unit. i had to take it out of desperation for a move next day and no time to look elsewhere. Why reserve a space if it is going to be given away to someone else? The unit has no light, appears it was torn out.

Customer service was complicated. Each time I called to get clarity on anything, I was placed on hold for more than 10 minutes and the disposition of the rep was nasty. This was a common thing at the Lapalco in Harvey business. Each time I entered the building, it was quite junky. It looks like they're going out of business.

This will be the last time we use uhaul. Experience was horrible from start to finish especially the Harvey location. We pulled in and walked in the building and where told I'm on the phone with my momma you have to wait. 4 minutes later is when we finally started getting help if you want to call it that. We where eligible for a free month storage in a climate controlled unit when we arrive thats not the case. They tryed to charge us for the month and then it wasn't even a controlled unit. After getting 2 managers they finally agreed to hold up to the offer. Not a climate controlled unit. We where then displaced because of hurricane Ida. We called to see if they could pro rate a few days because we where not in the area where told no very rudely. Told us that if we didn't have the stuff out by thrusday the 16 by 4 we would be charged again. We dropped everything and came to get the stuff out when I went to check out I was again almost charged for somthing that was agreed apon. After 20 minutes waiting for a manager to come assist me to figure it out and talk about the damage to my materials in the unit was rudely told nothing we can do here have to claim online. Horrible customer service no one I know will be renting from your company.

Horrible to say the least. Almost a week waiting to hear from a customer service representative. Faulty equipment. Lack of facilitation. No communication on processes and alternative processes. Lost a sale on furniture that I had advertised. Couldn't get into the building using access card. Had to return the truck before being able to use it. Only truly helpful person was Travis in Roadside Assistance. I can keep going... next time I will rent a truck from Home Depot and a unit elsewhere. Worse $200 spent.

Some staff members were great, but the store manager was horrible. I was charged for a storage space I did not have access to and I was accused of putting the wrong lock on my storage even though I bought the lock from their store. When I shared this information with an employee and the manager I was threatened by the manager that my lock would be cut off if I did not come to remove it. The lock was on the storage space they charged me for but I did not have access to it. Needless to say I will not do business with this facility again. Most of the staff members were truly great and helpful but that manager has got to go.

When I got to this unit I wanted a big unit. After applying for the unit I was given three separate small units which would have not fit any of my big furniture. The building was also unsecured and had a broken door.

When I first got the unit I had problems but once the young guy Jordan took over I had no problem after he even gave me the option to choose a buzzer are a card to get in and out the gate due to me have a problem with the card that I was provided but he said they been had the buzzer I would recommend dealing with this guy any day.
