The storage facility was in excellent condition and I loved how you had a roomy, enclosed and heated bay to load and unload. The employees were also friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this facility. to anyone.

Mike SOnly reason I noted the second question, "was the equipment clean and well maintained", as "No" is because the vehicle exhibited an issue with a high idle. The issue presented itself once the engine was warm and had to remain at idle in gear while waiting at a stop light. If the wait was short, 1 to 2 minutes, no issue was observed. However, if the wait in gear at idle was more like 3 - 5 minutes the idle speed would slowly and steadily increase. Eventually it would increase enough such that even additional pressure on the brakes would not keep the vehicle from rolling forward. To prevent further forward motion the transmission had to be placed in neutral. Once in neutral the engine would run around 3 000 plus RPMs for half a minute or so prior to returning to a normal idle. I brought this issue to the attention of the U-haul employee when returning the U-haul truck. Their response was very apathetic and no effort was made to understand the possible safety concern.

Shawn MPicked up the truck and it had the correct miles as the truck on the app. When I dropped the truck off the milage was wrong and they said that I drove the truck 93 miles and I only drove the truck for 3 miles maybe 4. Charged my card an additional $82 for miles which I never drove.

Gertrude GMy lower rating is due to the the recommended by them trailer I rented was not usable for what I needed. I told them I needed it to haul a UTV/side by side they said this one would work. The sides of the trailer wrapped around the rear several inches making it too narrow to load a side by side UTV by a few inches. UTV is 62,5 inches wide, trailer ramp and entry is 60inches. But for that it would have worked fine. I had to regroup with a different trailer at the last minute. So $54 dollars wasted. My fault, I suppose, for not measuring.
Scott GThe truck was nasty, all on the outside. The back of the truck had Sheetrock like stuff broken up all in it. The inside of the truck was nasty, the cup holders were nasty, the floor boards were nasty, and the seats had Dog hair all over them and I got dog hair all over myself. The way they represented the truck in pictures was a clean truck and what I received was a nasty truck. The pictures did not match what I got. I took pictures myself of the truck before I left the parking lot and when I returned the truck.

Rhonda K | Expérience généraleThe staff at the Palmer Alaska location are all very rude. The one guy who called me 3 or 4 different times almost made me feel bullied and threatened. Then when I got my final bill it was so far above the rates we were quoted it's not even funny. I will never do business with that location again. They are all a bunch of rude jerks.
CATHY DGreat service and friendly. However, the outside of the truck was filthy restricting visibility through the windshield and mirrors. It looked liked is just came up on the Canada-Alaska Highway. I had to clean the windows myself to complete my move safely.
Matt MI rent often from you guys at multiple locations and this is the worst experience I ever had and the only redeeming quality for this experience was the customer service i received at the location and the cleanliness of the location. The website and app to check in was awful and glitching, the person who checked the truck I was renting in didn't complete the process so I couldn't pick up the truck via the mobile app on my own, when I received help and wen to the lock box to get the key the keys were in the wrong box and swapped so I had the wrong key for the truck I rented, shortly after picking up the truck the tire service light kept coming on so I had to pull over and fill tires and the truck wouldn't restart which cost me time and extra mileage that I had to pay for which was after the location was closed so I couldn't reach anyone or get the message to clear to check the mileage. Not the best experience and I had to pay more than I used.

The phone is usually not answered or you are put on an immediate hold, if you are there in person you may wait for 15 or 20 minutes to be helped. Overall I still give five stars. The facility and the staff were great.

After our house burned down, we had a traditional storage unit, outdoor entry and it was miserable. We moved everything over to U-Haul and we never regretted it. It made going through our stuff so much easier. We were there many times adding and removing items until we were finally able to move everything back home. This facility took so much stress out of the process and we are so thankful.

The tire air sensor light was on when I started the rental and when I mentioned it to the employee, he said it was nothing to worry about. It was snowing. The truck did not have four-wheel-drive or studs. I think the air pressure was a concern, or should have been a concern In regards to my safety. The time to go 50 miles an hour all the way to Anchorage and back.

Andrea CAccording to the reviews on-line I was ver skeptical to rent a Storage Space with U-Haul. After visiting two other local Storage Facilities I was able to visit UHaul to make a decision. I found the Staff friendly and they verified the Init was available. Very easy to Sign a contract and the accessibility could be a bit more convenient I am overall Satisfied with this location Thank you all for your assistance.

aaron mThe driver's side windshield wiper broke loose while it was simultaneously snowing and raining shortly after I picked up the truck. The employees shared that they haven't been properly trained on protocols for people who check-in via the app. When I picked up the truck, the fuel level was at half a tank. When I refueled it, I continuously monitored the fuel level by turning the key completely off and back on. There was serious lag as I put in $60 worth of fuel after driving less than 50 miles. Eventually the fuel gage shot up to 3/4. When I contacted your customer service number and explained the situation, your representative informed me U-Haul isn't responsible for overfilling. It's not my fault the fuel gage wouldn't register. Lastly, I replaced the driver's side windshield wiper so I could see while I was driving. Overall, this experience was severely below par.

Jeanie BUpon arrival at my Uhaul destination, I was informed I did not have a reservation. After a six hour drive, and the pick up experience, I was less than cordial. The employee contacted the manager, Bob, who informed her he did speak with me and which unit he allotted to me. Turns out, the manager is not familiar with the software Uhaul utilizes and he forgot to inform his employee to reserve the unit. The employee was understanding and helpful. I informed her the engine light came on 11 miles from their facility and I would be keeping the vehicle overnight.truck upon returning the vehicle on Monday, the employee, Justin?, was a pleasure to work with. He was kind, considerate, explained the check in process, helped with unloaded of the surplus boxes and brought them into the facility for me. Upon attempting to return the boxes, I was immediately informed by the manager, Bob, I could not return them without the receipt. I informed him the website states y'all buy back boxes and the employee in Fairbanks informed me if I had the card they were purchased on it would be no problem. Fred, the other employee, stated he could process the transaction without a receipt. Bob stated he would be in the back if Fred needed him. Fred processed the transaction and I was on my way. All in all, customer service with the exception of Bob was satisfactory. Bob could benefit greatly from remedial training in customer service and being knowledgeable with the software.

I use that location for work all the time, if I go in and see him working, I will be going to a different location.

I was charged almost double what I was quoted to extend, I filled the tank past full and was still charged for fuel, called in and they said they'd refund the fuel charge and instead I now have an additional $77 charge on my account and the customer service representative was complaining to me and the other guy in line about the "crack head client he was dealing with outside," then the system was down so they couldn't complete my return and then emailed me a ridiculous bill and I was just told tough luck. I would never recommend to use this U haul!
Brandi KI made the reservation for Fairbanks and had to pick up my trailer in Palmer 300 miles away. I was given a discount but it cost me a day and driving another vehicle to Fairbanks. I had a trailer hitch installed in Fairbanks and my vehicle was damaged while parked in U-Haul parking lot.

I purchased the shoulder lifting harness, and I recommend that every family get one, it make's heavy and matters easier to move. The staff all have a good sense of humor. The equipment was ready for pick up as promised. The price of new trucks, it is less expensive to rent a truck when you need the use of one. Here in Alaska thr trucks should have 4-wheel drive.

They even found out that Reno did not offer us a free months storage rental at the drop off location for renting the trailer. They got us a unit that was perfect for what we were storing. We did not have a single issue from the moment we arrived. We will be using this location again if/when we need it in the future.

Secondly, I received a "complete move in" link and would receive a free lock for completing documents online - following it only told me that I couldn't complete the process online. Otherwise, staff and the facility were very helpful and kind. My experience was great other than those two minor things but wanted to make sure you guys are aware that the technology side isn't lining up with real-time it seems.

I asked the other worker what was wrong with him while she was showing me around (she was the manager and wonderful) and she said he was 'weird'. I don't think Elliot has emotional intelligence to recognize that his behavior was borderline aggressive the way he spoke to me. It was very odd, sort of like he was challenging me as the consumer. Hard to explain actually. Maybe there is video footage from 1/9 at around 1745. The manager was great and professional, unlike Elliot.

May I apologize for coming and checking out after 10pm quite a bit, when someone renewed the month due to the payment reminder error, they did not recognize that I had paid for the additional access. At times, I came before 5am and if I would park in front of the door of the bay then it would open right then. As I would see it on a dog walk, I knew when was right to come over and it made it fun, it always felt safe, thanks also for the awesomest plowing effort, without the terrible beeps, in all of Palmer. It was absolutely critical for me to transition from farm work in the fall to a later job and I grearly appreciate your example. It led me to decide to do work in what I feel is right and I can best benefit rather than for high pay. I'm likely going to connect with the non-climate control option up here in Fairbanks soon, going to see it today. Have a blessed holidays, thanks!

Presuming that the clerk misunderstood me, I paid for another month. After that, I was issued a bill for September. When I called, the clerk apologized and understood I had paid. He not only took care of me once I arrived, but he helped me resolve the problem with Austin when no one there would help. He's amazing. Bob also went out of his way to correct problems he didn't even create! Thank God for these guys!

David S | Premières impressionsWe made two reservations online, and neither of them was in your system when we came in, despite giving you the confirmation number we received in the confirmation emails we received. We had to make another reservation with the staff in person. As for the storage unit - we made a reservation for an 8x10x9 unit for our 2-bedroom home. We didn't start loading our household goods into the unit immediately and instead sent our teenage son to drop off boxes one at a time. I came to the unit to unload some of the things my son had dropped off in the unit and discovered that the unit we had been renting for the last couple of months was quite smaller than the unit we had reserved, and we had been overcharged the entire time. The staff helped refund the overcharge and helped to rent us a truck for our move. We were happy that everything had been fixed and had nothing but nice things to say, despite all that had already gone wrong - the staff was nice about correcting the errors. We've been in our new home for two weeks, and I have received overdue notices from U-haul on four occasions stating that I owe overdue rent and new fees for non-payment. Today I received one that charges additional fees for liens and late fees - all of this on an account that was closed a week before the notice was even printed and sent out. I have called on two occasions to ask that these notices stop being sent, yet they continue. These overdue notices are being sent to my sister's house as well, making it look like I haven't paid a debt I owe. I owe no debt to U-Haul. Now, the continual sending of these notices makes it so l must explain to my sister and her family the incompetence of the systems and employees at U-Haul, from the failed reservations to the overcharging for rooms that are so small the staff doesn't even recognize the size, to the continual billing of rent and fees to a customer who closed out their account and paid in full weeks prior. The continual threatening bills have soured an experience that, while already comically full of failure on the part of U-Haul, wasn't so bad that we wouldn't recommend it. The repeated requests to have these bills stop being sent out and the negative nature of what continues to be sent put a spotlight on the entirety of the customer service, which is sorely lacking. Please stop sending me any bills or marketing material. My account with U-Haul is closed, and I would like to keep it that way.

Even with damage the buildings were secure, dry, safe and the staff was incredible, never making you feel rushed or showing their stress for getting their building back to rights.
