I would really have to think twice or more before recommending U haul based on my prior comments.

ORRIN CFirst of all when we picked up the truck we were told that all of the uhaul equipment was under warranty and if we had an issue we could just call this number and all would be taken care of. The 20ft truck was sluggish would not go much over 65. I wish it was stick shift and I could of gotten better performance and gas mileage if it was. The tow dolly for the car we were towing with had the webbing come off the front tire. When we called to have it fixed we were told that it would be a $300 fee to have it fixed. After I got over the shock.... Since I was not aware of the second chain on the rear of the vehicle I decided to have it fixed instead of taking the chance that the car would bounce and maybe slide down some and hit the road. it took 6 phone calls, several pictures on the phone which I could not due because I do not have 24 internet on my phone. Fortunately my niece who was the one that I was moving was able to do it. It took the gentleman 3f hours to get to us. He oiled the roller for the strap , reattached the webbing onto the tire. He was so nice I and even apologized for taking so long in getting there. He gave us his cell number if we had any more issues he could walk us through it over the phone. I just wanted people to be very aware that sometimes what you hear is not thee whole truth. Since it was not an issue from the truck the trailer was not covered and that is where the 300 dollars comes in. I sure hope that I don't have to move anyone anytime soon.

She covered the front desk for rentals (running two check out at once) and helped people with their propane fill up all by herself. She was polite, patient, calm and nice with everyone. Her ability to handle all those demands in such a manner was truly impressive. Thank you for the great service.

Colleen J | Expérience généraleBeing aware of what is taking place at the storage facility docks. A large truck was blocking the entire road and I was unable to get inside to offload my storage during a rain storm. Keep an eye on the cameras because you would have seen what was happening.
Bonnie FDue to problems with the app it took me 51 minutes to get my rental, and that was after waiting in line inside 3 separate for the issues I was having. And then I still had to bring the rental back at the same time I initially put even though it took almost an hour to pick it up and I lost all that time. Really not impressed.
Heather MI can never get into the glass doors that open app wider for me to get my items out of the unit and when I rented a U-haul to get my stuff out I mentioned to the guy that was the are working that the doors were not opening and I pressed the button for help ahead of time and told him and he still never came over to open the sliding doors for me so I had to take out a couch out of a regular door so maybe he should do his job a little better And there's never enough people they are working to help other people always have to wait for at least 10 to 15 minutes for help
Brenda MMoved with trailer from ME to FL. Trailer was in an excellent condition. Only problem was the my p/u and drop off location got changed.
peter WI arrived at 9:15am to pick up the truck and had to wait in line for 45 minutes and another 15 minutes outside trying to move the truck. The truck had a needs oil change and another red light. The only good part of the whole thing was the lady helping us at the counter. I felt so bad for the way she was extremely busy. A few times while waiting in line she had to leave the desk to go outside with a customer. That is such a safety risk for her and a potential loss for the company if robbed or items stolen. I would have rated it poor if it wasn't for her customer service with us. There was another gentleman coming in and out that didn't help and was pretty useless. My husband asked him to move the truck in front of us in order to get out but couldn't ask except through an app on the phone for translation and he said no he couldn't and my husband had to back up and go around only after another customer moved a truck behind us. The whole thing was terrible. Definitely would not recommend.

Despite the store not officially being open, she opened up, and got our reservation straightened out and on our way. She was very patient and very helpful. If not for her, I'd have absolutely imploded with frustration and anger over the ridiculously complicated and inefficient web based process. Very confusing, too much language … needs to be much more straight to the point or much of the details handled at time of reservation!

The ramp would slide in almost all the way but then was very difficult to push in the last few inches to get it to lock and the gasket on the drivers side door is messed up so the door didn't shut tightly.

A.l. S | Expérience généraleTruck Scheduling is the biggest challenge of the U-Haul network. My reservation was moved three times, each time more distant than the last, and each time my truck reservation was moved my duration dropped by a day (for the same price). Had I not complained at pickup it would have been only 24 hours allowed, down from the 36 in my initial rental. The clerk changed me to a more comfortable 48 hours at no charge, but I had to prove with my old reservation emails. Because of these last minute pick-up moves, be sure and pad in extra time if you are hiring move help.

Keith SYour mobile app needs work. If you don't have an excellent signal, it's really slow - especially considering there's photos to be uploaded. When I went to return my vehicle, the app kept looping back to the same page, not allowing me to start the return process at all. I had to call the 800 number (where they were very quick and helpful), but that's not a great experience when you're tired from moving a bunch of stuff and just want to get home.

The staff at this store has no knowledge of this, can't understand why someone would get a prorated amount back and lack the commutation skills to professionally have a conversation with a customer about this concern. How is it a Maine state law that cable services must give you a prorated bill but somehow U-Haul doesn't? I am still waiting on a callback from this stores manager from August. This store is the most unprofessional location I have visited. Lance, the guy working there yesterday, said he'd share my concern with the manager however since he didn't make a note or anything I don't expect that to happen. There is no way to handle this dispute directly with the office since the manager has an obscure schedule as compared to the stores hours and the rest of the staff isn't equip to handle any situations other than checking your reservation and taking your money.

I couldn't get in earlier and had to unload my units through the pass door when the slider auto locked at 7:00. Having been in the door industry for 30 years you can have them locked from outside and active from inside giving access to anyone with a card and auto lock after passing thru with a cart to the dock. Then with a card could enter thru the pass door open the slider and get the cart in and the slider would close. Instead of people blocking the pass door open all the time they are unloading. Simple adjustment to make everything more secure and more convenient for your customers. Thankyou for your consideration.

I called back, and proceeded to call back everyday following. I was never put in touch with the Saco location and the national distribution center couldn't reach them either. I was not able to confirm that my property was in fact NOT missing until I could go to the storage unit myself on July 9th. At checkout when I brought this up the staff member rolled her eyes and moved on - this issue is not resolved in my mind and spoiled the whole experience.

This error set me back a day in my moving process as I needed the dolly to move appliances. I then spoke with a very kind lady through customer service who agreed that was unfavorable and offered an additional day for free. The very next day I was being harassed by I believe your general manager of maine or something. It was a woman. She actually threatened my wife and I and said she would track us down to return the truck. After this threat we frantically returned the truck to the lot that night. Somehow in your system it says I owe an outstanding balance to you. Even though I have a bank statement as proof that I was charged. I needed a truck for another day so I just went through pensky.

Forcing our account to show as unpaid. Despite a $2 authorization charge showing on our bank statement - clearly showing that uHaul had access to bill our account. It's been frustrating to get situated. As we feel that due to uHaul's mistake, we shouldn't be billed for that missed time.

Not sure if it's because I bought it and moved in the same day but I would be bummed out if the code still didn't work after the fact.

I have had issues with a truck not being available when I reserved it, having their systems down when I wanted one and although it was there, they could not rent because they could not get into the computer. I would not use the auto payment system for storage lease again as I have had an issue with it. Also I can NEVER get anyone on the Phone causing me to have to go in person and wait in a long line to speak with someone as only one person is working there. The place is clean and safe but, they need to figure out the management side of things.

It cost me 2 hours of my time, over 2 days trying and not succeeding to access my unit. The card didn't wok properly and they had to disable the alarm on my unit so I could place items into storage.

Clay B | Expérience généraleThere was a disconnect with corporate U Haul and the Saco U Haul with every purchase we made Ordered a truck through corporate, changes to made to drop off location by corporate with subsequent un- known changes to pick up and need for us to drive to Freyburg (2 hours away 1 way) to get our truck. Saco was unable to help. I paid a trailer hitch 1 x through corporate, not received in Saco, and 2 x at the Saco office (?credit card machine not working, they never called me back but froze my account). On a better note the storage facility was very clean and secure. We really appreciated that!

I spoke with the manager/staff twice the day before. When I arrived to unload the boxes at 7am, they had not been prepared. It took 1 hour to get that sorted out, during which time I was paying movers hourly to sit around. There was some miscommunication on the staff/management side, and then very little urgency to correct the issue, which caused scheduling issues for me and the movers I had hired.

Basically the manager doesn't know how to manage and I missed an entire day of work to move my things in because she didn't want to get out of bed and honor the email I got. I most definitely should still receive a refund considering I missed out on a $150 day Bc of POOR MANAGEMENT. I will never use this location again
