Faulty circuit breaker box in a new wiring harness caused the blinkers to go out and cost $120 with a private mechanic to disconnect so we could use the vehicle. This cost should have been covered by U-Haul but was not. U-Haul replaced the wiring under warranty. Wiring failed in only a little more than a half of year. Private mechanic said he had just seen another case of this recently so maybe U-Haul should look at higher quality wiring kits?

I use UHaul 20-30 times a year due to my business and I was coming to this location for many years. The previous manager was very professional and helpful. I feel bad now, that I need to drive further away, just so I'm not dealing with this stressful treatment.
Joanna JanasWe rented a large 6x12 cargo box trailer listed on line for $29,95 / day. The trailer was clean and worked well for moving our parents antique furniture. It towed smoothly without ;bouncing and had great tie down rails inside. Everything arrived without damage and dry even in the heavy rain storm. The west town location was convenient and the staff was very pleasant and patient to work with. The staff was knowledgable and helpful in ;adjusting and leveling the trailer to tow evenly with our higher truck bumper. I ended up using a drop hitch to solve the problem. The only issues we had was the computer system was not able to apply the advertised online rate of $29,95/day for the 5 days we rented the trailer (the system charged us $79,95/ day) Please fix the system to so rates match with current online pricing. What is the best way to resolve the discrepancies? The store was able to reduce some charges but was limited in what the system would allow. We had difficulty looking at different rental options and comparing with out logging out and and reinputiing all information to compare rates. I would have preferred the being able to compare several different equipment combinations and return options on the same screen We were pulled over after dark and received a $80 ticket for nonfunctioning running lights. Only one side was working, eliminating driving at night. Thank You Hans Borcherding

ASMERET ADHANOMContract 73767370. Climate temp dial was stuck on cold and it was raining. Very dangerous when the windshield is fogged up! Van had only 1/8 tank of gas and agent said if it is returned less than 1/4 I am charged $13,5! I asked, why do I have to put in more gas, than it came with. He told me they didn't have a gas station there and he was new and didn't have a gas card!!! When I returned the van and wanted to tell them about the stuck temp dial, there were no customers inside and it smelled of tobacco smoke. We use U-Haul a lot as my wife is a realtor with a staging business. We won't be returning to that location.

moua loThe battery on my rented truck was exceptionally weak. We turned the dome light on for about 10 minutes and we had to jump the battery to start the truck immediately after. (we turned off all battery-sapping functions of the truck and the dome light before trying to start it, so it wasn't that we were drawing too much power.)

Michael RussoThe original employee that helped us was absolutely fantastic. Friendly, helpful, just all around great. Upon checking the U-Haul I noticed it was full of trash and belongings. There was even several diapers left in the truck. It was absolutely disgusting. I went inside to notify staff and see if something could be done. The other employee there informed me that he would take care of it and that he knew that there was stuff in there and that he had been waiting for someone to rent it so he could clean it out. The original employee wanted to just switch the truck out but the second employee who wasn't the one that checked me in said no he would take care of it. I needed to go rent equipment to move because the equipment I reserved was not available at this location. I was already stressed with moving and needed to get started moving my belongings and needing to wait for a truck I was paying to rent to be cleaned added to my stress. I lost about 45 mins of rental time. Upon returning the employee stated he "did me a solid" and switched the trucks out so I could have a clean one. I was under the impression that I was paying for a clean truck and getting what I was paying for is what should have happened in the first place. Had I not checked the back of the truck prior to leaving I would have either had to have driven back to the business paying for the miles I was driving or cleaned it myself. The fact the employee knew that the truck was not in a condition to be rented and that he was "just waiting for it to be rented so he could clean it" makes no sense. Why would you wait for a customer to receive the truck in an unacceptable condition to then take action and clean it. As stated before the original employee that checked me out was absolutely fantastic. The one that knew about the trashed state of the U-Haul was unprofessional and didn't seem to understand how unacceptable it was to be issued a filthy truck that he was aware wasn't serviceable due to the amount of trash and belongings in the back. It almost seemed as though he was hoping someone else would take care of the issue instead of him doing his job and making sure the trucks being given out are serviceable. I don't want this poor review to reflect on the original employee that checked me out as he was absolutely fantastic, but something needs to be done about the other employee as he was unprofessional and knew I was getting an unserviceable truck and didn't seem to care and even smirked when I returned to inform the employees of the state of the truck. Very disappointed with the service I received.

I then had to move my vehicle anyways to get the trailer. Normally this would fine, but with the snow covered lot, and no other customers present to even be concerned about needing parking, I felt this was unnecessary and a waste of everyone's time.

The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating a vehicle change for an in town drop off at a different location. Best experience I've had at UHaul, but I've never had a bad one either. I have come to trust and appreciate U-Haul and much prefer the experience over asking and coordinating to borrow a friends time and/or vehicle.

He was very unfriendly, unhelpful, and not kind at all to me and my family.

I have a kayak that is known to be exactly 14 foot long, and it didn't even fit lying down along the long wall. It now has to be angled up, which is very disappointing. I thought it was going to be the advertised size. And so don't think it was actually 10 ft wide or 10 ft tall. Very doubtful. Different than advertised, despite having an easy process to rent the unit.

We will have to buy a battery-powered light (a flashlight is impractical) in order to retrieve or review anything we have stored because the hall lights don't work and there is no overhead light (really? no overhead light?).

Too bad there are no ramps provided to help with carts, dollys, etc. Some of the clientele make messes and leave trash all over. Some people move in or out with a lot of noise, chaos, and squabbling over who has rights to a cart.

Before we left St. Louis to drive the U-Haul truck to Madison Wisconsin to put things in storage for a couple of months for my daughter I confirmed that the reservation was there online and all set. When we actually got to the U-Haul location, we were told that there was no unit available in the size that I had reserved. We were told that the reservation was not really a reservation. Fortunately we were able to divideThings between a smaller unit and we were able to find someone we knew in Madison to let us put things in their house. If it is not really a reservation it should not be advertised as such. Or they should have an option to pay money upfront to actually reserve the unit.
