Return process needs improvement. The trailer was returned at just before closing time and the man who took the trailer was not pleasant. He said he would wait until the morning to check the trailer in, but I received a late notice the next day. i had to call to get someone to confirm the trailer was on site the following evening. I was only charged for the one day once the trailer was confirmed on site.

The blankets and utility dolly were not in the truck. The truck was given to me on Empty, so had to find a gas station to accommodate 26 foot truck and towing car as soon as departed store (in town, no truck stops). Got gas, drove home and then had to TURN AROUND AND DRIVE BACK!!!!! To get blankets and utility dolly!!!! Of course I didn't get to pick up at requested location 10 minutes from house….. I had to drive back to location 25-30 minutes from my house…. So I lost an hour and a half betweeen getting g gas and round trip back to uhaul to get blankets. Tow dolly number was not on original contract, so after being notified on Monday I was scheduled to pick up at 4:45 pm (I already had it!!!!), I called to find out what was going on and was asked to stop and find out the number of the tow dolly and provide it.

I will never use u-haul for anything ever again because of my experiences with this location. There isn't enough room here to summarize all the problems I've experienced with u-haul, their staff, their policies, their inept staff, their terrible attitude towards people when the problem is on their end/due to errors, mistakes or shortcomings on their part. Glitches and mistakes "don't blame us, it's corporate's fault" Being treated as threatening by simply expressing frustration and unhappiness that there are so many problems. Going to my emergency contact adding late fees to an account with $0.00 balance and threatening leins. Having Mike Reyes, the General Manager tell me it doesn't matter what corporate says or what is discovered after reviewing past recorded phone calls because nothing is going to change. The list goes on and on. The most egregious act was that after attempting to go in person to have a question cleared up about my most recent bill and once again having problems, Mike Reyes slipped a 2nd and FINAL notice of termination of my contract into my account without sending it to me at all. I never received a first notification.. there wasn't a first notification in my account file either that I was ever informed of. The only reason I found out about this 2nd and final notice was because I called customer service for help after I left U-Haul of west tampa's office and the woman on the phone informed me of the notification and she then sent it to my email. I looked everywhere including spam. Mike Reyes never sent that notice to me and it's far from the first time I didn't receive correspondence from the location I had my belongings stored. That man tried to slip that notification in my account because the 2nd and final notification only allows the customer 72 hours to contact them to make arrangements to vacate or else you're screwed. Mike Reyes, the general manager at u-haul of west tampa, thought I wouldn't find out about the notification until it was too late. There is no way I could've known without contacting customer service because he did not send me that notification by any means. Thanks to the way management carries itself this location is foul, misleading, inept, predatory and vindictive. Goodbye U-Haul.

This is not this locations fault but my reservation was changed 2 times without talking to me. I scheduled this truck to be picked up 5 min from my house. Then I had to drive 30 minutes out if the way to find out the trucks not there and drive another 20 min. Miserable experience.

The staff there is absolutely incredible and helped me out every way possible and just made it a very pleasant experience I will say hats off to the young lady named Cherokee, Brittany and the manager there should be extremely happy because of these two ladies went above and beyond what they needed to do to take good care of me. I will always keep running from that facility!

Outstanding service. We are delighted with you. However we have a white pleather couch. One of the white cushions has a red ink stain and slight puncture. We do not see a clue as to the cause of the red ink stain other than the pads supplied by U-Haul. We have tried many cleaners and have not been successful. I have before pics. What recourse is available to us?

The air conditioner in the 10 foot moving truck that I rented was not working. It was hot and miserable. I was not told whether to drive with a trailer hitch pressed in or out. I had to return the truck early due to the air-conditioning not working. I feel as though I should get some sort of a refund

I will never leave the truck without me getting receipt. I trusted they would be honest and not rip me off. I returned the truck with same amount gas I left with. They charged me for 7 gallons of gas. I only went 31 miles. Seven gallons of gas with an average of 10 miles a gallon is 70 miles. I put 12 dollars of gas in the tank. Which gave me just over four gallons of gas. Which will easily covers the gas I used. I didn't leave the truck with a quarter tank of gas.

We have used Uhaul many times and always had a good experience. This last time December 3rd when we rented the Uhaul truck and the tow dolly John did not want to take it because of the poor condition it was in. Both ratchet straps were very rusted but the yard person insisted it was fine and refused to give me the original dolly that was assigned to him because he said it was blocked by 4 other dolly's. We had Nothing but problems from Tampa Florida to Ohio. We called the Uhaul service center to explain the problem we continued having with the straps because they kept getting loose and causing the van we were towing to shift. We waited over 3 hours for them to send another dolly and they never came. We had to purchase our own tie down straps so we could get to Ohio. Our van had front suspension dammage.

I would not recommend this location to anyone I come in contact with. After a month in advance reservation, they allowed someone to remain in possession of a truck that was reserved for me. Their actions ruined my entire day of travel and caused me to have to drive at night on a 6hr trip. $1000 rental and $100 is all the compensation they feel I deserve after messing up my reservation and giving me the run around for 4hrs. Wasting my time and gas running around Tampa for a mistake that was clearly their fault.

Charged $25 fee after move out for leaving a broken dresser that was broken WHEN MY STORAGE UNIT WAS BROKEN INTO AND TRASHED, and uhaul failed to contact me. Then when they said they DID contact me, which they did not, my unit was not even listed on UHAULS police report. The door was NEVER fixed since it was broken into. If I could rate 0 I would. Give me my $25 back. Assholes.

Everything was fine except that for the smaller storage rooms there is no acess after office hours and the location of my storage unit was somewhat of a inconvenient to get to. You need to go up a flight of stairs and go around like a maze. If you had big and heavy items it would be a problem.

The day I called to move out the guy told me he would be sending someone or himself to remove the lock off of my unit. When I arrived with a uhaul truck they had in fact not removed the lock there for I could not access my own personal lock to get into my storage. I called 5 hours prior. Luckily there was someone on sit an hour after their closing hours who took it off. You have to call this facility over 4-5 times and potentially will be answered. I personally would not rent at this facility again but hopefully other people have better experiences than I did.

The storage unit is good but the accessibility did not have the best conditions. First a U-Haul vehicle was parked in the entrance for no reason and second accessibility was very difficult especially to transfer bulky and heavy items.

The person who assisted me was very rude and he didn't give clear instructions to my unit.Basically stated I did everything online so the instructions was online instead of going over the details with me in person because from my knowledge I didn't know I requested a upstairs unit.Instead of offering another option for me to switch units just basically told me it's not his fault he didn't book online I had to go to a different storage unit I requested a refund I was over the rudeness needs customer service training. On the other hand Brent was very helpful and apologized on behalf of U-Haul and told me he would handle the situation

We rented this storage unit for our business because the advertised hours for access were 5am-10pm. However, after the first day we used it at 6pm we went back the next day at 8pm and were locked out of the building completely. It was a Sunday so we tried again Monday only to be locked out again. What no one told us is the the building we were in was only accessible from 7am-7pm which doesn't work with our schedule at all. This wasn't anywhere on the website or in the contract for rental. I called and they confirmed (rudely) the 7am-7pm time frame for only that building. I was told when we took our lock off we would get a refund since it had only been 3 days of use. We took our lock the next morning and received an email saying we owed $0.00 but no refunded amount was given. Terrible experience all around and I now have to pay another facility for this month while also having paid for this unusable space.

Y'all already know why I was very disappointed ! I have spent so much money with you guys in my lifetime , and never missed a payment and with all the trouble I ran into along the the move from Washington state getting locked out without even a call to lmk .. was more than inconvenient since I got dropped off ! I will say the gentlemen that stopped by as I was leaving one night , I guess I sounded an alarm ? Unbeknownst .. he was very well manored .. unfortunately it didn't compare to the crap I had to deal with the rest of the time!! Even from Washington to San Diego customer service has just gone way down!! Pretty sad!! Lucky you got one star!!

Just Lost 2 storages called spoke to a LADY that didn't tell me OR PREVENTED ME To LOOSENING my Mother's Stuff. I asked to make a payment and she said NO. Than I asked to write Down That i was Coming Down to make a payment and she Still went and Sold Two storages for 35 each…. When i was in a funeral trying too make a payment over the phone… And here they go and sold you're stuff to Random People that take you're id and take you're personal information.. you're trying too hold onto you're stuff every little thing you can hold on and Here they come and sell it… you're truly Trustworthy that they're going too work with you… Not to sell it. Specifically with Covid-19's killing people and Rent Going dooooo Hi… they should give you 2 to 3 months and make arrangements for you too pay and get it Out…. I lost my mother's twos brother's this year… going to funeral and i get the Bad News they Sold my mothers stuff… i even called the manager Mike to stop the person from taking my stuff They Do Nothing… went to another manager in waters ave MR Guillermo he send them a text And still didnt work it Out… I even asked too buy it Back and still they didn't CARE… they preferred me too get all my stuff I being paying in west waters for 5 yrs… Mr Guillermo did advise me and he would call me to make payment… this guy i definitely give him 100 percent stars… 5 estrellas he helpful and awesome awesome work.. go to Guillermo at the Waters store… never ever Will I go back to any Storages in my life… i preffed to selling it from home or give it to people in need.. peoples getting you're id and you're personal information is wrong they should not be doing that selling you're storages when you always have bank account and bank letters and all you're son daughter information… thats why theres alot of identity theft HERE IN FLORIDA… sorry But bad bad bad Thing just got home after 3days of bad bad costumer service seriously don't recommend stopping putting you're trust on people that Don't care about you and your stuff… its all about MONEY….you're called to make a payment don't want to take it… and then You Looses Everything….Really a bad DAY lost my mom and all her Memories sad sad sad…Mike and that lady didn't Helped in Any Way.. wont recommend that Store To NO ONE….please be careful….where you put your Belongings and you're important papers it can fall to the Wrong Person….

Went up on the cost with a very short notice. Access doors to unit were rarely opened. Mice had been in my unit and chewed up certain plastic containers. Front desk staff weren't very attentive and seemed to have attitudes often. My rental truck was cancelled because I was 20 minutes late. I did not receive notice or phone call.

My issue is not with this location. The staff here were very friendly and helpful and the storage unit was clean. The issue is when I first called Uhaul they issued me the wrong storage unit twice and it involved me driving out of my way. Also the uhaul I was issued from the St Pete location was very dirty. I was such in a rush to load my personal belongings that when I off loaded them into storage they were very dirty and dusty. Also the dolley handle in the back of the uhaul was damaged. On the side wall of the back of the uhaul there were brownish bloodish stains. So disgusting. Throughout this whole ordeal I constantly called customer service to complain but was put on extremely long holds and was even told we would be contacted back within 72 hours from a manager. That has yet to happen.

We got to unit at 4:30 and told we had 30 mins to empty our entire unit. We were able to do it but had staff waiting at 4:55 and rather than help just watched. Not sure on the policy of touching customers stuff but would have been helpful to have an extra hand

Cancelled my truck reservation. Wrong time was recorded by associate. I've always used UHaul and I've never had any problems until 3/27/22. It totally ruined my move in day for today. The associate had an "Oh Well not her fault" demeanor. I won't be returning to the West Hillsborough (Tampa) location ever again. The Gandy Location (Tampa) helped me out with a truck not the same size but I could work with it.

There is no proration for storage units which is not correct for customers! Especially since it was turned in (freed/move out) 3 weeks before the next due date and there was no credit given (returned credit or in house credit) which I personally think is wrong, they will lock up your unit if you don't pay ( not my case, I always paid before my due date) but you can't get reimbursed or credited for future use!!! This is very wrong to the consumers!

I rented a 5x5 cube. Realized it was too small after checking in, and during my move. I called Uhaul- same number I've been calling. I asked for a larger cube and they accommodated me with a 5x10 cube. When I arrived to move in, I explained to the check in peeps in what transpired. They all acted stupid and denied having a 5x10 cube available (even though I I knew the number of the cube I was promised and it happened to be empty- and a 5x10...) I called the same number hoping to get the same guy, but got a lady. She told me there was no way for the previous guy to know what cubes were open. So- I figure the guy on the phone had a magical computer which gave him a special power to see available cubes. Or- I have ESP and hallucinated the whole experience to know what cube number was available and that it was a 5x10. Either way, Uhaul would not honor the promise or compromise with me on a larger cube. The girl on the phone actually asked if there was any thing 'else' she could help me with. She thinks she helped me???(Clearly she's in MENSA) In summary, my opinion is that if my dog smoked Crystal Meth, he would still be smarter and more organized than these people at this location. Since my stuff wouldn't fit in their aquarium-sized 5x5 unit, I had find other arrangements to store my stuff. Bravo people! Bravo...

I was rented storage on a second floor, this was not disclosed until AFTER payment had already been processed. Also, iT IS IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of someone over the phone!! I literally called at all times of the day and NEVER got a response. I had to call another U Haul facility to get assistance. Customer Service is non existent. Clean house, and start over!

I would give 5 star rating it wasn't for Trucks parked in back. No parking at all. Two spaces available and people waiting in line to drop off or pick up from their units. Otherwise, there was no problem. Unit was clean! Great staff!

I rented a pickup truck and a storage unit same day. When I arrive to pick up the truck and claim my unit I was told I had until 5 to access my unit that day because I could only access it during staffed hours. I went back home and loaded up the truck myself and then drove back over to the location to unload into my unit. I arrive around 4:46 and couldn't find my unit so I went to the front door to ask for help and the door was locked before 5. I went around the back to see if I could find it and I saw a couple of employees that helped me in the right direction but for some reason wouldn't tell me that I couldn't use it because they were are leaving early. So I ended up calling the store manger 4 times because his number was a on a board and didn't answer or even call me back after a voicemail. So I needed to bring the truck back to my house UNLOAD all my stuff myself and wait until the next day to then again RELOAD all my stuff. When I dropped off the truck the guy I spoke with accommodated me but I wanted to make you aware of the situation.

The cars was very small, u can not load it and the most incredible thing Only one elevator at the corner of the begging of all the units and is very unfair. They give me my unit in the other side of the elevator so far far far from my unit. Is very frustrating and hard to move all your stuff. Need two more elevator for the convenience other customers. Very disappointed 

Everything was great until I asked to close my storage-I took my picture, sent in the close out procedure-it took almost a month and 2 phone calls and an email to get them to close it after I also received a late notice and a late fee (which I didn't owe them a dime)...but after the final phone call..all was taken care of! Overall experience was great, but the doors to get into the storage facility were broken most of the time, thus anyone was able to walk into the facility without a security card.

I paid my bill in full on the due date 6/22/20 and actually found a home and moved out 6/25/20 . I went to the office to see if I can get a prorated rent, some of my 121$ I spent back and was told I couldn't! There's nothing in my unit! Then was asked if I wanted to go ahead and checkout?! WHY, so you can KEEP my money and rent the unit out AGAIN and double your funds! Yeah, RIGHT! Looks like I'm keeping my lock on the unit the rest of the month for no reason at all! TERRIBLE customer service! I will NOT be using uhaul ANYMORE! And definitely not recommending to anyone else to get SCAMMED!

The storage buildings are not designed well at all! They have way too many rental trucks and trailers blocking the driveways, this facility is not large truck or trailer friendly. I brought in a 16' trailer to load and it was near impossible to maneuver especially with other vehicles in the same area! I would NEVER use or RECOMMEND this facility for any type of storage. Inside building 3, there is a strong order of urine!

I'm unsatisfied with the storage every time I Go to drop something off it's so over crowded. On Sunday's it's horrible the same drive entrances is used an exit there's no other it's dangerous.

You should make it easier to alert customers to the needs for box accessories. The counter person did not supply them when pulled the boxes. I had to come back and ask what to put hanger on.

I just have a complaint. Nobody explained to me that if my storage space didn't have AC my mattress would get mold. If somebody would told me that I would sure get the one with AC. I THREW IT AWAY

The 2nd floor was fine and climate controlled so no problems. However, the 1st floor smelled musty. They should not charge for access after 7pm. People need to access stuff after their work day.
