Improve your customer service. Not all customers have knowledge of how your equipment works. There is no need to be condescending to customers for not being familiar with your equipment. In fact, it's very rude and arrogant to think a customer would know.
Craig DavisI rented a van to transport a newly purchased bed and box spring. I'm not sure if the guy I dealt with was having a bad day or something but as he was going over the information regarding the van and the rental details, his tone was coming off as a bit dismissive and condescending that was particularly distasteful, specifically when mentioning the penalty fee if the key was accidentally locked in the van. When I was in the midst of telling him casually (and specifically) "I'm very careful about things like that, especially if there's a fee" he interrupted by saying something along the lines of "trust me, I've seen this before" as if this was in any way relevant to my handling of the van (this was even the first instance I ever directly did business with Uhaul). This portion of the interaction in summary came off as passive aggressive. I returned the van to the Uhaul site after transporting the van directly from the rental site to a Macy's store - located between 7,5 and 8 miles away - to my house located en route to the Uhaul store (which less than 5 mins away from me) and back to the Uhaul location (again, 5 minutes away from my house). Following the on-site instructions for returning vehicles, I pulled into the designated area and waited in the vehicle as indicated by the nearby sign. I ended up waiting for at least 20 minutes after arriving after seeing various staff members including the initial guy I did business with walk in and out of the store passing by my vehicle, milling about inside the store/staring out the window, basically not saying anything for the entire duration. I attempted getting their attention for sometime while remaining in the vehicle but it seemed I was being ignored. After sometime I exited the vehicle to talk to someone directly as I had to leave and my time was being wasted. Upon returning to go back into the store, the guy who rang me up initially call out to me to "hold up partner, we'll be right with you.". This exchange in particular rubbed me the wrong way as he was not only wasting my time, but at this point being overtly rude. I returned to the vehicle and waited an additional 5 minutes or so. The same guy finally came out of the store, checked the gas level (which was returned on a full tank) and mileage all while saying very little. No "sorry for the wait/how're you/how'd transport go/etc., he simply stared at the dashboard for sometime asked a single question (I can't recall) and then returned inside the store. I continued to wait more to the point of confusion, communication at this point was just poor. He returned, stepping outside the store staring off elsewhere and pacing around. At this point I was even more confused and aggravated. I stepped out of the van again and called out to him asking "Are we done here? Am I okay to leave?". He gestured a wave at best and stared off elsewhere. I left in a pretty "not good" mood to say the least based on everything that happened, which was ultimately unnecessary and especially unprofessional. The trip going both ways totals roughly 16 miles and I discovered a couple days later that I was overcharged for 35 miles. The manager I happened to get in touch with was also curt in my brief interactions with her via phone regarding the overcharge and overall unhelpful. They claim they tell you this via the text they send upon renting the vehicle, but it's not overtly stated to take a picture of the dashboard/meters/mileage before and after, which is something anybody would want to do especially dealing with this location specifically - beware, they *WILL* try to overcharge you if they can get away with it like they tried with me. This admittedly was a lapse in judgement on my end, but to be fair this was (unfortunately) my first ever instance directly doing business with Uhaul period - evidently I didn't know what I was getting into. Keep track of your receipts/emails as always, but document everything - **especially doing business at this location.** Fortunately I was able to get a refund for the overcharge that more accurately reflected the mileage cost. I'm not sure who they thought they were doing business with, but I seriously didn't deserve any of that.
ramius crooksWe had no interaction with this location. Our experience with the location we did deal with was fine. The worst part of the whole experience was dealing with the company website. They require photos of the dropoff and pickup locations. And every time I was informed they were successfully posted, I wound up getting calls from U-Haul officials asking for photos. At one point, I did the upload with the representative right there on the phone, who personally confirmed it was done. Of course, the next day I got a call the next day from another official after me for the photos!

romero morales hugoWhen I arrived on 3/17/24 at 9:15 am. (well before my 12:30 drop off time) after sitting in the return lane for a few minutes, there were no other customers at this time, I got out of my van and went inside and saw 2 male workers behind the counter. I waited for one of them to ask if I needed help but they just sat there. I then just yelled out that I am returning a trailer they finally looked up & said ok just unhook it over there (waving a hand in a general direction) and you're good to go. Usually someone comes out to assist me but not this time. So after I unhooked the trailer from my van myself and started to push the trailer one of the workers comes out and said NO SIR the trailer needs to go over there. I am a 65 yr old man I was pissed that I had to do the work myself so I told them NO I was dropping it over where there was close EMPTY spot, as I was in a hurry and need to get back to the Sports Card Convention that I was set up at. So I pushed the trailer UP AN INCLINE AS THE YOUNG MAN JUST STOOD THERE AND WATCHED ME. Let me mention again that I am 65 years old and your employee did NOTHING to help me even though you pay him to do a job for your company. There have even been a few females that have come out to help get the trailer checked in and unhooked. I use U-Haul 3 times a year (March, June/July & November) for the last 20+ years to go to Chicago for theses shows and I have NEVER EVER had this kind of treatment from this drop off location.

Krzysztof WojcikCould not find truck and was taking trailer to MI for you. Truck and trailer should have all been ready to go. Lost lots of time. Wiper flew off drivers side in major rainstorm. Had to go to another location to change out truck and reattach trailer. 5 hour trip turned into 8 hours with issues and delays.

Kathy LongTruck suspension was bad, i brought it back after 1 mile of driving the truck, it also smelled like pee. Employee excuse that all the trucks are old. This truck had over 165000 miles and it felt like the wheel was going to come off. The truck also came in with a little bit under a half tank and that is exactly where I left it. I have a video I took I can send to you moments after taking the truck showing the issues and fuel level.

Maciej FilarI had reservations and the day I went it was snowing, the guy gave a a different truck because he didn't want to move the other trucks in the way. Second I asked him to clean off the snow, I returned the truck before the time . And got charged for two days. I purchased mattresses bags that I didn't use, still got charged , they gave me no refund .I had a bad experience , I got charged tolls I never went on the expressway. I would not rent from U-Haul again .
