The truck was very clean and drove as expected. The staff was friendly and made up for the two inconveniences that I experienced. First, there is only two non-handicapped parking spaces. I came alone and meant to leave my car for three hours only to find that was not allowed. All other U-Haul locations I have used have ample parking. I had to have my son come and pick me up to take my car to some other legal parking spot a mile away. The second was the fact that the truck was not full of gas. I was told to return it with the same 3/8 of a tank level; but how do you do that with an old-style gauge? I either had to put extra gas in it to make sure I was slightly above where I received it, or risk that a perceived underfill would cost me a fee of over $5/gallon. I drove it 13 miles and put over $7 in gas to make sure the needle showed correct depending on the arbitrary angle of the person checking it in. I am not suggesting that person would purposely screw me; but the needle can read differently from just a small angle difference. Seems to me taking it full and returning it full would be much more precise on fuel usage like I always do with rental cars.Jarod M.
The manager and workers are very sweet and kind. That was the only good thing. They were gentleman and kept me from losing my mind. They all deserve raises but UHAUL COPORATE you need a reality check. First off the address for this location takes you to FARMINGTON. You are a million dollar company and you are telling me you can't have accurate GPS maps? That was an 1hr of my day realizing there wasn't in fact a uhaul and trying to find out where my location really was. When I got there I had planned a mobile checkin but because of the design of the location that wasn't possible (even though your website when I booked told me it was) so that increased my anxiety. When I got to my destination to pick up HEAVY furniture I discovered that my truck didn't have a ramp built into it so I was forced to lift the furniture myself and hurt myself. Your website sucks/your app is even worse. I've used you 3 times in the last month and I would rate my visits: 1) 7/10, 2) 5/10, 3) 2/10VICTORIA LORENE B.

Because someone else parked there return across multiple spots, it prevented me from being able to park in a spot where the cameras could capture my return, causing me to be charged $20 for blocking the gate entrance. The staff Lashaun has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. She looks down on customers and several times she has spoken to me horribly as well I have witnessed her on multiple occasions do the same to other customers. Almost every time I have been in there she is getting into with a customer. She had her son working there and was talking to him in front of customers so bad he walked out. I reported this to management as well as corporate multiple times and nothing has been done. I was forced to deal with her and pay my money as a customer to be treated like crap. She is allowed to have an "emotional support dog " in the lobby whom runs up on you. There is zero professionalism and she acts like you are bothering her with any questions. My storage unit was broken into and it was infested with mice! They were literally running out mid day while I was moving my belongings out. Although the representative I dealt with was courteous and helpful, the overall experience left much to be desired. I had made a one-way reservation for a truck rental across town, expecting a hassle-free process. However, upon my arrival at the designated pickup location, I was informed that the truck was not available. This unexpected inconvenience resulted in a significant delay and wasted time on my part. After waiting around for a reasonable period, the company offered an alternative solution by booking another reservation for me at a storage facility located more than 20 miles away. I received a call at 6:00 pm, the evening before my pickup, informing me that I would not be able to leave my vehicle, as there is no parking. I am sure the person who called me at 6pm was aware that it would be too late to cancel and reschedule elsewhere and believe me I tried! Upon arrival, my brother and I were kindly greeted by Mr. August Miller. We chatted and laughed as he checked me in and delivered the vehicle. The fact that we had to get an Uber there and back home, somehow seemed unimportant after my interactions with Mr. Miller. He is a wonderful and kind man. After a long and difficult check in process, the truck I was provided was poorly maintained and below Uhaul standards for gas. I returned the truck with the same gas level I was provided, and charged for the difference. So not only did I have to pay for the gas I used, I had to pay extra to give Uhaul more gas than they provided in the first place. Disappointing experience all around, unfortunate to have to leave a negative review for what should have been a simple rental experience.Michelle P.

I would suggest that the rentee is fully familiar with the mechanics of the trucks before driving off the property. Meaning that the employers should be able to tell the rentee where parts are in the truck if asked. Overall this is a good professional place to rent vehicles.Madelyn W.

I had a great experience when I picked up my truck. The woman who helped me was very pleasant. I got my truck on July 30, 2023 at approximately 2:53pm. I brought the truck back at 4:58pm. A bit over 2 hours not two day. I gave a gentleman the keys and I left. Next day I get a receipt charging me for a 2 day rental and stating I turned in the truck on July 31, 2023 at 8:31am. I called and a gentleman helped me and he reversed the charge and told me what the total should have been which was close to what I was quoted when I picked up the truck. I just looked at my bank statement and my card had been charged three times and has caused my account to be negative with overdraft charges. First, the Uhaul chat assistant told me there was no issue with using a debit card for my original reservation of a cargo van. The night before the reservation the general mgr called me and told me it was not and I had to pay more overall as well as per mile AND it didn't fit where I needed it to go so we had to walk further to load. The mileage was one mile different in Uhaul's favor on the dash than on my paperwork but decided not to fight it. The gas was just shy of the 3/4 tank. It was on a sloping drive. Also no parking to leave your car which is frustrating. When I returned it I filled it to just shy of the 3/4 tank mark. Waited inside with four other people. And we waited 20 minutes to be helped. The helper was so very rude. She actually yelled at us. Told one woman she â€œhad your receipt so you can figure it out.â€ When my time came, it was $5 more than expected because she said she gave it to me on the line. I said no you didn't. She refused to talk about it. I walked out after stating I wasn't fighting her any longer and just charge me but that everything had been changed on my reservation throughout and I will never use Uhaul again. My guess is that when she looked at gas in the morning, the truck was on a flat surface but when I got in on the slope the gauge had moved. But instead of talking to me, she was belligerent. Steve, the general mgr was kind and courteous when I spoke to him on Saturday evening before my reservation but he is the only possibly good thing. I am so frustrated with Uhaul.Melanie G.

The lady working the counter was friendly. The location does not have on site parking. There are only two parking spaces. I was under the impression I was signing up for mobile pick up but apparently this location does not offer that which led to a long wait time. When booking and when doing the mobile pick up at other locations, I am able to use my husbands debit card. At this location, I was unable to because â€œthe card used must be in whoever's name the reservation is in.â€ 8 mile and greenfield is a much better location. When I dropped the truck off. The lady was rude. It was close to closing and she made it her business to come outside and tell me to park my personal vehicle in the lines. When she checked the vehicle, I was told a 25 fee would be assessed if I didn't fold the furniture pads. So I was forced to fd furniture pads in 5 degree weather. She was terrible. Uhaul staff at this Uhaul center on 8 Mile were first-rate: kind, thoughtful, helpful, and professional. However, I cannot say the same for one staff member at the Uhaul center at 19797 Livernois in Detroit--where I originally went for my storage needs. Don't know the guy's name but he was stocky with short dreadlocks. Rude, unhelpful, and non-responsive--it was hard to coax the gentleman to say anything at all. I did the online checking and when I was going through the checkout process I noticed that the van's fuel was almost on empty. And received a message that if the vehicle was returned with less than a 1/4 tank of gas, I would be charged $30 extra. I went back into the office and spoke to DJ, and told him about the situation. He nonchalantly told me that was the fuel level the previous customer turned the van in with. He said I could put some fuel in it, and I would be reimbursed. My issue with this situation is the fact that UHaul would rent a vehicle with an almost empty gas tank. Having to stop for gas cuts into my move time, even if UHaul reimburses me. Does this seem acceptable ? To rent a vehicle that has an almost empty gas tank ? (I can send you a picture)Robert P. | Premières impressions

The staff was amazing especially one woman in particular but I didn't get her name but she was always nice when I came in whether it was to ask a question or pay my storage bill.
