Meredith S.Make sure the trucks work properly before giving them to a customer. The one I rented had to be jumped not once but twice in the same day. The roof leaked and damaged my belongings. The mirrors fell ever time I hit a bump and the breaks barely worked.

Michelle B.I filled up the gas passed the required mark to help the next person who was to use this truck. However, when I showed up on time with a full tank, I was informed that I was NOT going to be compensated for the extra fuel. Gas is not cheap right now. So I paid over $100 just to be told that “there is no way for us to calculate how much we would owe you.†Apparently this policy is a one way street where you folks will nickel-and-dime the customer when he/she does not bring the truck back with the required amount of fuel that was presented during pickup. Yet when I come back with a full tank I am greeted with “we cannot calculate that,†and I am sent on my way. After driving halfway up the east coast non-stop, I was hoping for a little more from you guys. To be greeted with a corporate runaround phrase was less than ideal. I know you folks need to make money and keep this business alive. However, this kind of fine print bs is something that will prevent future customers. I am sure I will use this service again since you folks are the best in the business, yet I can't help but feeling like I was duped into paying more than I should have. Good day.

Philippe K.I was first told to go get the truck and it was in the wrong bay. I was told the gas was at 3/4 of a tank and I was to replace whatever I used. I was told and I agreed that I would be traveling about 20 miles. When I got the emailed invoice it was for 39 miles twice of what I traveled. When I was charged for gas I was charged to replace a full tank not 3/4 of a tank which was $40 above what I used. I did replace 2 gallons which should've covered the 20 miles. discrepancies and inaccuracies have caused this poor review.

James D.The truck smelled terrible--like cigarettes (even though it was a non-smoking truck!). Other than that, the equipment was clean. Being in the truck for an extended time was unpleasant due to the odor. I sprayed Lysol but it only helped temporarily.
Steven S.The passenger mirror was broken in the first vehicle I was assigned to. I didn't feel comfortable with the sticker that was then placed over the damage. Please fix your vehicles so your customer doesn't feel as though they will get blamed for the damage. Also, when I was going over the vehicle online it had technical difficulties so I had to start over. The counter person had her 6 year old (?) at the counter too. Keep the kids at home so your staff isn't distracted.

Amy L.two things happened with my most recent experience. I reserved a pickup truck and I get to the location and was given a van. Was not asked if it was ok, they just assumed it was ok. Also, this is second time that they circled on the contract the gas level higher than what it actually was.
Dennis G.We love U-Haul, however our experience with the drop off location was not very great. We needed to extend our reservation due to a medical emergency, and spoke with representatives at this location 3 times to do so. However each day they kept calling about the truck saying it was late even though we had extended it. At one point they left me a message saying that they had a family waiting to use our truck, and honestly I didn't appreciate the guilt trip. I ended up calling the 1-800 phone number and they finally updated our reservation correctly. On the day it was due, the location called me again and said my truck was due days ago- but that was not the case. It was just frustrating that we had to continue to call to extend it and it wasn't being done properly.

Christopher P.What I reserved online I included the five dollar towing feature. This was not transferred to my reservation when I picked up the truck. When we discovered it was missing it would've been too big of a hassle to cancel the order and start all over again so we didn't. My recommendation would be to double check all of those fine details before printing out the reservation I did appreciate that the extra items that I ordered were already in the truck waiting for me.

Jona P.I have had to move to NH from two locations recently and used UHaul a number of times over the past year. Everyone I have had personal contact with at UHaul were exceptionally professional, kind, personable, helpful, fun, and funny. I look forward to interacting with them again. The people I had contact with over the internet and telephone were the opposite. Rude, dismissive, self important, entitled, and lacked any empathy. I will use UHAUL again but only face to face.
