Be honest with them about how they will be paying about 3 to 4 times what you advertise for the rental in the end. If you're going to RIP off your customers, at least warn them first.

NEVER set up an account and give Uhaul your credit card number. My UBoxes were taken out of storage and delivered to me on August 30th. Since that time, I have been charged on my cc 2 months of storage. After multiple phone calls, those charges were reversed. Then I was charged a late fee. I asked that my account be closed. Then, I was notified I was having a lien placed against my storage (as I said earlier, I had nothing in storage since 8/30), and was being assessed an additional $50, another month's storage fee, and a late fee. Multiple phone calls later, I've been informed the problem has been taken care of. I'm awaiting another email, informing me I owe more - it's bound to happen based on prior performance. Throughout my 6 months with dealing with Uhaul, I've come to the conclusion their computer software is extremely outdated. One system doesn't interface with the other, and communications throughout the company are poor at best.

This location was having some computer issues at the time I came in which made the check out a little longer. But the staff were amazing even with the issue.

I was waiting out front to drop off rental at 7pm exactly, but staff already had doors fully locked and lights off already. Not sure if they didn’t see they had a customer out front or what. Kind of frustrated that I had to pay a $20 “convenience” fee for an after hours drop off, when I could see staff in the store. I also dropped it off a day earlier than my agreement. So much for “convenience”

Unfriendly staff. They parked the 20-ft truck HEADED INTO a dead end jammed packed with other vehicles! It took 15 MINUTES and 73-point turn to get it out ... I was the 2nd person in line at 9 a.m. and did not get seen until 9:15. It took until 9:40 because the "computers were slow," they lost my reservation, newer employees weren't familiar with the system, etc., etc. I was not offered a walk-around of the truck before I drove away to make sure the truck was in good condition. The location was changed on me shortly before pick-up, as it was for the person in line in front of me. HE was offered a discount for the trouble. I was not! I will try to never use U-haul again. I had movers waiting at my house, getting paid by the hour, btw.

Inspect the dollies to make sure they are secured in truck. After leaving the lot and traveling across town I heard a loud clunk in back of the vehicle. I stopped to check it out and found the dollies on the floor. Being pressed for time, I called and waited a while. Once I talked to someone they were very friendly and said they noted it and I wouldn't be changed for the rental. However I found a $7 charge anyway. Being pressed for time I am just going to let it go, but I recommend opening up the back before you leave the lot.

First, I was under the impression from U-Haul's website, that Sunday's were free to drop off. When I got my contract at the rental location in Ludington, there was a statement that I would have to pay $20.00 charge for after hours drop off. I was returning the truck on Saturday, after hours. I called, waiting 10-12 minutes for a person, asked the question, and was sent to a website. Good thing I had web availability. I followed the prompts, then I was asked to send a picture. It would not accept my picture, and after about 10 minutes, I decided to take the picture vertically instead of horizontally on my phone, and then it would work. No directions indicating to do so. Site needs improvement.

The uhaul computer system that the uhaul representatives use was very slow. Pages took 5 minutes to load for the representative processing the rental. It frequently displayed errors on the page. The uhaul staff were very nice and apologetic. Clearly there was a problem with the centralized uhaul computer system. The return took even longer and I opted to leave without a receipt because it was taking so long.

The gentleman helping us was kind and professional. When we asked where to park the Ubox trailer, he wasn't very knowledgable but to be fair that wasn't his job. He offered to take care of it for us.

The staff was unaware of my request to pick up my U-Box and complained I only gave them 24 hr notice - which they hadn't noticed. They passed the buck on everything and took no ownership.
