The staff needs to be more attentive to customers. They did the bare minimum to facilitate a transaction. One employee pulled the truck and car dolly around and just left it there. He never said anything to me the rest of the time I was there. I was left to drive the car on to the dolly by myself. I'm an experienced mover, it wasn't that big of a deal to me, but if I was someone else I would've been in trouble. Someone could get hurt. I'm sure the guy working meant well. It's an opportunity to coach the guy and teach him. He was perfect with the initial greeting and getting my order together it was finish that wasn't good.NICOLAS L.

I reserved a uhaul a month in advance. When I went to the selected pick up location they did not have the uhaul that I scheduled weeks in advance. A person from uhaul called and confirmed my order the night before and stated everything was good to go. Waited for a half hour trying to locate another uhaul. Ended up having to drive to a separate location and waited in line for another half hour. I understand things happen and everyone is short staffed and a lot of people are moving or doing projects, but this was my first time using this service and it took 2 hours out of our moving day. It would have been better if everything was situated before hand or if I was notified to go to a different location in advance if they didn't have the uhaul.KEVIN C.

Fix your online rental experiences. I could not check myself in online, scanning location barcode or taking the picture would not even work. There was trash left behind from previous renter that they hadn't bothered to clean out. Then couldn't get it checked back in online because it couldn't find my location with all permissions on my phone on... so I was stuck waiting on hold for almost 50 min for your help line. I'm not sure after this experience I would use U-haul again. I'd rather pay more to save myself the stress caused from this rental.JACLYN DENISE S.

The Gentlemen that took care of us on Alpine was great! Especially after our experience at the Holland Uhaul. We had been sent to Alpine after we drove to Holland (an hour drive for us) to pick up the trailer we reserved a couple weeks prior to help our daughter move. After arriving we were informed they didn't have any trailers! They would â€œtryâ€ to find us one!?! I informed them we had to have one as our daughter had to be out of her apartment that day. I also asked why in the world they didn't have it after we reserved and paid for it. The â€œownerâ€ (that's what her badge said-but she didn't act like one) didn't seem to care that we were upset, did not apologize, and then informed us we would have to drive back to Grand Rapids (a half an hour back the way we just drove from) to pick up our trailer. After some deep relaxing breaths we headed to Alpine only to find out-THEY DIDNT HAVE ONE EITHER! Fortunately, this Uhaul employee knew how to make his customers happy and personally went out back and changed the tire on a trailer that had been set aside for repair. Otherwise I'm not sure where we would have been sent next! This is a HORRIBLE way to run a business. Our daughter's girlfriend, who was also moving that day, had a similar experience with a different facility. We will NEVER utilize Uhaul again.Timothy R.

I ordered my 26' one-way truck on 7/10, PIF prior to picking up on 7/31. When going to pick up: - the listed location didn't have any U-Haul vehicles. - went to closest U-Haul dealer that was open, only to learn my truck was never booked (even though I provided confirmation number and proof of payment), and someone was supposed to contact me on my pick up location the day before. that didn't happen. - went to actual U-Haul facility 15 min away (Burlingame, Grand Rapids MI) to see if there was anything they could do. the local manager was short and rude and said it wasn't his problem. - after about 90min in total on hold and scrambling all across town, I finally got through and was able to get a 20' truck off Alpine (30 min further than original location) - the truck was an in town truck, so I had to cancel my Sunday plans so I could return the truck - the 20' truck wasn't big enough, so I had to make another trip to my old home (75 min away) to grab the stuff that could have fit on a 26' truck - I lost 1,5 hours of time and fees for my moving help on my moving day, costing me 125 $for them to sit in my driveway. All in all, my moving day turned into a nightmare. It appears Uhaul waived my mileage charges, which is nice, but I still paid an extra 45 $for gas, an extra 125 $in moving fees, and has my entire weekend shifted due to this mistake. To begin we were guaranteed a 20ft truck (the only size that would work for moving to a new state) at a specific location nearby. The day before pick-up we were contacted and told that truck size doesn't exist at the guaranteed location and we could drive to a further location for a 15 ft truck (way too small!) They should've delivered the truck to our location instead of making us drive 3 hours round trip, taking 3 hours out of a workday and losing us that part of a days paycheck and wasting our time and stress. Once we got the truck unloaded and headed to the storage unit we'd pre-registered and that was included free with our one way truck rental, the trouble and headaches kept coming. We were originally given a 10x5 at another facility, but when we got to the unit, it's actual measurements were 5x5, even the worker said that happens, that U-Haul's dimension of storage spaces don't always match the dimensions they advertise them as, he measured it for us for confirmation. We had to call customer service (plus 15 minutes of in hold time) to locate another facility with the size we needed because the store was unable to look it up or call them. We had no way of double-checking with the new facility whether they actually had the unit available in that size, and the worker at the one we were at wasn't able to for us (ridiculous they can't call another store locally to check!). We had to blindly drive to the new facility. Upon arrival, check-in was smoothish. The young man wasn't thorough and missed some things we had to correct for him. Then he sent us to our unit and forgot to come unlock our unit for us so we had to go remind them we were there 30 minutes later to which the guy said he'd forgotten we were there. He didn't warn us of the sticky trap on the floor of the unit or point it out at all so I accidentally stepped on it moving something into the unit and ruined the bottoms of good running shoes. All of this made us late for our rented truck drop off time, and lower on fuel for drop off than we were supposed to be, we wouldn't have been if this hadn't all been wrong. Not only was this a drain on finite fossil fuel resources, it was a waste if our time, adding an additional hour of driving around for U-Haul's mistake. This all also made us so late that we missed a ticketed event and were unable to get a refund. Very dissatisfied with the company and the customer service as a whole for wasting at least 5 hours of our time, energy, and emotions.Heather P.
