The people that work there, all the time looks angry and not friendly at all, all you here from them is that you gonna get charge for anything and everything, the truck was dirty: water bottles and used napkins and also smells bad, I have to cleaned my self because they were "too busy", also the gas mark was wrong. I know it's a business but come on, not an apology or anything from them, that's really disappointed. Never again. Make sure cup holders are clean. Install USB charging ports. Don't cause unnecessary panic attacks by telling people the truck isn't available a day before you need it and then 5min later call back and say â€œNo worries. It's available.â€ No one needs that added stress when they are moving.Derek O.

Only 1 person taking bookings with 3 unused tills The check in seems to take an inordinate amount of time especially considering all the personal information is already in the system The staff in the yard are always proficient and helpful with the trailer hook up I brought it back after hours and checked out on my phone as instructed and was double charged I called the next day and had the charge reversed but was on hold and passed around twice Altogether I was on the phone over 30 minutes before getting the extra charge reversedKEVIN Wayne D.

The door into the. Storage is bend. Have hard time open and close it. There was a uhaul truck parked in front of the unit. So that I had to get someone to move it. My 72 year old mother rolled her ankle coming in the storage unit place and not one employee actually gave a crap.. the manager was too bizy worried about whether doors opened and closed and stuff like that.. told her she had to go into the office to fill out a report.. my mom is 72 just moved here because she lost her husband (he passed away) and was treated like crap.. I asked for ice for her ankle as it was swelling up already and brusing and the guy said sorry we don't have anything like that on site.. so I took my mom home to rest and ice her ankle well I came back to move her stuff out if the unit.. was told anyone in the office could do the report.. I came back to file a report and got told only the managers can do that and she left for the day.. Belle was the one I talked to she had emailed me a few time ect this happened on the 13 of July still haven't heard back about anything.. out of Provence rates are way over priced for someone on a pension and needing to move for financial reason and because she lost her husband.. you guys should be accommodating for that kind of situation..Jamie M. | Expérience générale

Very busy place to have only 2 employees working, one of them being very new. When it's finally your turn after a huge line up, in the middle of your transaction and conversation they leave to help other customers. The person answering their phones hangs up on you. They say on the phone that they have many storage units available but when you come in person there are very few and they are very inaccessible.Savannah M.

Friendly service. The only two things to improve are: a) the electronic process and location of the van did not allow for a proper inspection. It would have been helpful for an employee to do the walk around with the customer, likely faster as well. Too tight to inspect and take pictures etc. The return was with an employee, and it was a fast and fantastic process! b) the interior was very clean except for the inside windshield. The staff are rude and unprofessional they obviously do not want to be there and willing take your unit even you are not done with it why do I say this we had a unit we took our stuff out and went to clean it out the next day they had swept it and all already had a ready for customer tag it was still in our name for 6 more days good thing we were not bringing stuff back. We did have the pleasure of renting our 2 Nd trailer from 36 street south east just off of Barlow staff is much more friendlier if we ever use U haul again it will be from the 36 locationDennis H.

One problem. Paid for a grand wardrobe online. Whwn I went to pick up, there wasn't one available. Things like that happen and I was credited and paid for a smaller one. Other than that the whole experience was great! Merci!Doug F.
Truck wasn't clean, inside or out. Staff was all new, lacked familiarity with processes which caused significant time delay when picking up truck. Walk around to identify prior damage was not dine(there was a cracked windshield and outside mirror). Furniture mats in the back of the uhaul were wet, as the back door had been left open.Erik T.
We booked a 20' truck for Saturday morning in Calgary with a drop off in Red Deer. On Friday, we were asked if we could change our reservation from a 20' truck to a 26' truck and we would get an extra day at no charge. Also we were asked to pick it up that night as it would be very busy on Saturday morning g. We drove to the location that night and the Truck Share did not work as the online check in was done on the account without our input or knowledge. Since it was after hours, we needed to call the main line and were on hold for a half an hour without an answer so we left. We returned Saturday morning at 7:30 and realized our reservation had been changed to noon on Saturday, again without our knowledge. Luckily they were able to get a truck for us. We didn't realize until we were all packed in the truck and ready to go that the drop off location was no longer Red Deer and was back to the pick up location. Again, we called and waiting a long time with no answer so I found a way to message the location online. I simply received a text a short while later that the drop location was now Red Deer (although not the original location we asked for). Definitely the most frustrating experience I have had with U-Haul after several positive experiences in the past.Levi P.

When I picked up the truck it was told to me I would get a refund of 15 $back if I brought it back at quarter tank fuel. Well when I picked it up there was less than quarter tank. I took a picture of it. I Returned the truck back with half tank of fuel. And I did not use up all my estimated miles. Employee at return his tablet said my refund would be 19 $. When I went inside my refund was 3 $. Where did my 15 $refund go to. I tried to complain but they said I was wrong. In the end it cost me 250 $including gas to rent this truck for one small trip. Not happy that I was told different scenarios of my refund. I guess this is why uhaul has millions and I don't. You guys are too expensive!ben J.

Could have used more instruction on how to swipe the access card and where (need big signs or to be shown in person, like walk a person over and explain), how to disarm the annoying alarm, donation area needs to be moved to a completely separate area so people don't accidentally misconstrue my offloaded goods (at the dock) as a â€œdonation itemâ€. I caught a guy packing up my 1 000 $office chair on the back of his truck unknowingly. Also information/heads up about how the doors lock you in when they close - I almost had a panic attack and felt trapped when I couldn't get out. This is the most complicated storage building I've ever used and I've used many. Also, no clear instructions were ever given on the virtual â€œreturn a truckâ€ process, the front desk just highlighted/circled something on the form and did not explain how the mobile app works, that a customer requires owning a smartphone with sufficient battery life and gps location data whilst still on site before leaving the truck for the last time. Zero indication given that the check out method simply will not work unless all of those points are checked off. This literally resulted in me spending 3 hours of my workday trying to get it resolved when it could have been prevented. The uhaul.com/share website alone does not work to return vehicles, which results in an unfairly imposed â€œconvenience feeâ€, but as a customer, I wasn't equipped with the knowledge to return the truck successfully. Overall, just too much passing the buck onto customers and expecting them to know how Uhaul internal systems work as if they worked there themselves. Too much expectation, not enough help/information.Lara L.

I've been a long time customer and will be a repeat customer at this location. The west winds Calgary location didn't open until 11:00am this morning. Not satisfied with that. On a Wednesday at 4:30 PM there was only one employee taking care of everyone inside and there was a huge lineup, the wrong keys were being handed out and she was getting overwhelmed. Koodos to her for being able to handle the stress but i guess being a bigger site in Calgary they need to have atleast 2-3 employees so that the lineup is not too long and people dont get frustrated. It was over charged plus charged me on fuel coz employee claims it was less fuel when I brought the truck back even I showed him the picture before I rented it but still charged me. Was told to come and pick up the truck at 0700. I could not get it until 0800 because they don't open until 0900. I was unable to rent a truck for 2 days because it's to end of the month. My truck pickup location was changed twice after being confirmed. When I went to go pick up the truck, the truck was not available and I had to wait about an hour for pick up. Then I was told that my estimated total based on mileage was going to be 110 $. My total came to 140 $. I was charged more for fuel than my rental and I used the truck for only 39km. I do not understand how the truck used approximately 60 $of fuel for only 39kms.Ahmed F.

Store was closing when I picked up the vehicle. The vehicle was not cleaned and there were bugs all over the windsheild. Windshield washer was empty. Mileage out was wrong but was told by an employee that it would not matter and they will make a note on the file. Get your people to work 1/2 hour before the shop opens to the public so that they can start moving the MOUNDS of trucks that have been returned to your property, outside your property, and the rentals blocking your entrance so that old 60 year people like me do not have to sit with their vehicles running for 45 min just to return trails to your lot. My reserved vehicle was not available. After waiting 15 minutes past the reservation time I was told I could take a 15 foot truck instead of the 10 foot truck I reserved. The cashier then proceeded to try and bill me for the price of the 15 foot truck. I also requested moving pads which were not in the vehicle. When I requested them on the way out of the facility I was given 10 instead of 12. I had to then explain that to the person checking in my vehicle when I returned it. June 30, end of month and last day to move (if you're moving in June) and they have ONE service agent on in the morning. Line up out the door...one rep! Then the truck I reserve is (shokingly) not available so I have to get the bigger truck...AND pay the extra 10 $difference because the bigger truck is more expensive. The outside staff was great. The inside staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. It was getting close to the end of the month and it was busy. Only 2 staff were attending to customer and one of those was very new and always asking the other gentleman for help. Causing delays for both queues. The person in the yard hooking up the trailer was very helpful trying to troubleshoot the trailer lights, but it was an issue with the truck wiring and could not fix it. Unfortunately I was given a replacement truck running on fumes, with +197 000 miles, that was over 10 years old. When I got to the drop off location they were surprised I was given that truck to drive cross country.John Y.

Is this a joke? How can I rate this storage facility when I was denied access to it? I made my online reservation weeks before my moving date, when I arrived to store my belongings, I was told that the reservation was not valid and that the facility didn't have any more units available. I was shocked and utterly disappointed, I asked to speak to a manager and was given the 1-800 number, I called this number and explained my situation, I asked to get this resolved withing 24hrs and I was hold that somone was going to call me but NEVER HAPPENED, this was the worse experienced. The unit we were in allowed a huge accumulation of dust to enter the unit and all of our stuff was dirty when we removed it. Further the security system on the unit did not seem to be working for almost the whole duration of our time there which made us feel very uncomfortable with our stuff there and no alarm in place. Upon renting my unit and being assured move in was complete, I attempted to access my unit within my access time. Sadly, I was denied. I spent the next hour on the phone outside of my prospective locker trying to gain access, but nobody was able to help. I was told to return the next day during office hours. The following day I returned to the store, where they issued me a swipe card and assured me I would have no issues moving forward. Which was great, until I showed up last night in desperate need of accessing my items in storage. Again, my pass code didn't work, nor did my swipe card. Luckily a kind gentleman let me in the building, where I went quickly to my unit and unlocked it to discover THE UNITS AREN'T EVEN ALARMED! DEALING WITH UHAUL has been the most useless experience ever! Not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars I've had to pay due to their broken promises again and again. Kristen was amazing in checking me in on time. She was super helpful as she made sure my swipe card worked for self storage as I was having trouble with it at check in. She was super friendly and cared about completing my check in so I could have my hired movers get started right away without wasting any time. There was another tall gentleman(don't remember his name) inside the self storage facility as well who was super friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding storage and our container. The front sliding doors weren't unlocked on time and the garage doors often weren't unlocked by mid morning. Found ourselves constantly going to the office to get things taken care of. Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of miscommunication, and misunderstandings throughout. When I knew that we weren't going to make it in prior to closing, I phoned the storage facility to discuss options. I was informed on the phone that my father could check me in early, collect our pass and after hours access code, and that we could arrive and unload after hours. Upon arrival, my father was told this wasn't the case and we'd have to return the following morning. Had the information been communicated over the phone when we called, we would've altered our plans accordingly. The following morning, my reservation couldn't be retrieved. Apparently the system wasn't able to locate any reservations using confirmation numbers, and we needed to set up a new reservation. I was promised a drive up storage unit on my initial call. They put me at the far end of the building which added 3hours to the move, so far, and probably another 3 hours on the way out. The guy at the front said he would give me 24 hour access but the swipe cards did not work. When we saw the storage, we knew it would be difficult to fit the 26' trucks belongings into it, so the we told the Afterhours lady and her suggestion was to "pack better". We had to stack items do we could climb because I'm not 12' tall. The 10 $lock they threw in does not make up for the nonsense that I endured. If there was any other option, I would be using it. No real problems. There was once that they called us to come look at the unit as they thought water might have gotten in. But it was fine. The place was rediculously hard to contact on the phone under the old management, but I never tried to contact them since the change of manager. From having to travel an extra 3 hours on my moving day to pick up a trailer in the opposite direction- to the business being closed and had to go to another location. And had to call around and find my own storage unit- to be told that I had a ground level storage unit.. and then showing up and being told no I do not. No compensation was given on UHAULS end .. I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100 %. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20 %. Your average is 60 %. The staff (except 3 (Michelle, Jake, Wyatt) are the only good things about Barlow location) were very poor service! My unit was blocked 90 % of the time I was there by trucks or trailers, then when the snow hit, and started to melt it froze my door shut, to which they then tried to open my door with a fork lift and put a hole in it! This location makes me NEVER want to use uhual again, and neither will any of my hundreds of family and friends! I've tried to resolve my issues many times with little to no luck!
