This is the second locaction we were sent to. They did not have a truck at 2615 12 St NE. We waited at the second location for over an hour before they could find our truck. They were not helpful at all, no one knew what was going on. I won't be using U Haul Ever again. I should see my time guarantee refund soon. If not, you will hear from me.Mona L.

Be on fucking time!!!!! I waited 45 minutes in line, just to pick up a simple utility trailer. This is absolutely NOT acceptable by anyone's standards, especially when I am paying people by the hour to wait for your understaffed and overworked â€œcustomer serviceâ€ reps to slowly deal with stupid and difficult customers when my simple rental pickup takes 5 minutes total including lot time. There was a very awful smell coming from one of the storage units near mine .. it almost smelt like something was rotten. But other than that, clean facility. Charge for fuel with out actually knowing how much, also not fair to charge a fee if the equipment is not filled for the next customer. This is an unfair business practice, and a scam. When somone books for noon, don't shift their appointment time, and then tell them they won't get in for another 2 hours at minimum. Luckily the Hitch shop in Calgary could sort this out, and get this installed for me in 30 minutes. It literally took longer to cancel my uhaul appointment than it took to install the damn hitch. The pick-up was extremely slow as there were only a few people working and multiple people looking to pick up and drop off equipment. Some trailers for pick-up were buried amongst the various trailers so it was additional time to get it moved up front. The guys were working as fast as they could, but the volume was simply too much. TWO HOUR wait in line to get my reservation. Did not have the furniture dollies or furniture pads I reserved. "First come first served" was the excuse, even though the entire point of reservations is to BE the first come, first served. Truck they assigned was missing, so they gave us use of another truck that was almost on empty. Still assigned a return time based on when we were SUPPOSED to have picked up our truck instead of when we FINALLY got through the line two hours later. Don't allow your website to reserve equipment if it's not available. I reserved a 20 foot truck for 24 hours and just prior to my move I was called and told I could only have a 15 foot truck for 8 hours. I was then diverted to a different location that was 80 km round trip out of my way and was told I would still have to pay the 0,99 cents km fee. This cost me approximately an extra 80 $dollars and a huge inconvenience as well. There also was utility dolly I reserved and was given a furniture dolly instead which was useless for what I was moving. Never will I use or recommend Uhaul again.Chance F.

The equipment was not mechanically sound. The front end is in a terrible condition, leaf spring eye bushings needs replacing. The steering is terrible power steering system has air as a result make steering tough and difficult to steer. I fear for my life driving this truck on the highway. The staff member who helped me was so fantastic in helping me obtain the truck rental and return (Wish I could remember his name) The objection I have is waiting almost 2 hours at this location for a pick up. U haul should realize that the last day of the month is always busy and have more staff on hand to help. 2 hours to wait for a rental is not acceptable and it wasn't the staff fault as they were working so hard to help irate customers. It isn't the location staff that are the problem, it's the scheduling of available trucks that needs to be overhauled. I had an online reservation for that day and had to wait 2 hours in line (not sure why there isn't a separate line for new bookings and one for online bookings/reservations) to get to the front desk to speak with an agent. I thought the whole point of reserving online was to secure a vehicle without waiting in line... and this isn't the first time this has happened... just a poor experience time and time again.Michael M.

After a second awful experience with uhaul, it's safe to say I will try not to waste my time and money there again. It isn't the fault of the employees. They are just trying to do their jobs. The system and the management need a complete overhaul though. We booked a 20' trailer for 24 hours online - but then, of course they call us to tell us we can't have that. Apparently there's a 12 hour limit on rentals near the end of the month. Well, it doesn't say that anywhere online. Why was I even allowed to select 24 hours if it wasn't available? Then, they call us again to tell us we can't have the 20' truck unless we only need it for an hour (!??) whichâ€¦no lol. So finally she tells me I can have a 15' truck from 8 am until 6 pm. Okay, that's 10 hours, not 12. Whatever, I say sure. THEN, I receive an email that my truck is booked from 8 am to 9:30 am. What? So I call them again and have it changed to 6. No big deal. The morning of our move rolls around and we head to uhaul to get our truck. We waste our time doing the online check in, and then proceed to stand in line for 45 minutes waiting to get the keys anyway, because there are 2 people working and about 25 people lined up for trucks. Finally we are second in line to get our keys and we see an employee head outside to see what's available for the other employee. He comes back with keys and says â€œthis is for truck X,â€ which happens to be the truck I have already checked in online. So I loudly proclaim, excuse me! That's my truck! The employee sighs and hands me the keys. We finally head over to our truck, after an hour more of a process than we expected. This place is horrible. So disorganized. Tried to give our truck away directly in front of us! Horrible. And, our bill was double what we expected to pay, because they screwed us out of the bigger truck we wanted and we had to do multiple trips. (So, more kms) Oh, and they charged me for a dolly I didn't receive, to boot. When I submitted an email for them to correct at least that simple charge, I received no response. This location requires a complete staff turnover. Very restrictive and agonizing payment option system. Manager requires the ability or more resources to solve customer issues. There is no reason for a pickup customer to wait for 45 min in the parking lot before staff are willing to help. This is by far the worst location I have dealt with and the most distressing experience with uhaul. It's unfortunate that you offer such a seamless online experience only to force a customer to have to pay the taxes separately when they arrive at the pickup location, this practice must end.Andrew P.

I stored my stuff there for 6 months and my stuff was safe and nothing was stolen. I went to rent a trailer or a van/truck and there was a 20 person line up to get service on Friday at 4:30pm. I waited in line for 30 minutes and the line didn't move so I decided to go home and try to move the next day. The next day I went to go rent a trailer or a truck and the service people said they couldn't help me. I went to Home Depo to rent a trailer for 28 $. I went to open my storage and there was a lock put on so I couldn't open it. I had previously paid the rent bill so there shouldnt have been a lock on it. I had to run around the uhaul place to look for staff to help me and managed to get my stuff moved. There were no dollies for me to use. I went to check out and they didn't want to reimburse me for the extra month that I paid. They said I should have moved out before the 28th. My 72 year old mother rolled her ankle coming in the storage unit place and not one employee actually gave a crap.. the manager was too bizy worried about whether doors opened and closed and stuff like that.. told her she had to go into the office to fill out a report.. my mom is 72 just moved here because she lost her husband (he passed away) and was treated like crap.. I asked for ice for her ankle as it was swelling up already and brusing and the guy said sorry we don't have anything like that on site.. so I took my mom home to rest and ice her ankle well I came back to move her stuff out if the unit.. was told anyone in the office could do the report.. I came back to file a report and got told only the managers can do that and she left for the day.. Is this a joke? How can I rate this storage facility when I was denied access to it? I made my online reservation weeks before my moving date, when I arrived to store my belongings, I was told that the reservation was not valid and that the facility didn't have any more units available. I was shocked and utterly disappointed, I asked to speak to a manager and was given the 1-800 number, I called this number and explained my situation, I asked to get this resolved withing 24hrs and I was hold that somone was going to call me but NEVER HAPPENED, this was the worse experienced. Upon renting my unit and being assured move in was complete, I attempted to access my unit within my access time. Sadly, I was denied. I spent the next hour on the phone outside of my prospective locker trying to gain access, but nobody was able to help. I was told to return the next day during office hours. The following day I returned to the store, where they issued me a swipe card and assured me I would have no issues moving forward. Which was great, until I showed up last night in desperate need of accessing my items in storage. Again, my pass code didn't work, nor did my swipe card. Luckily a kind gentleman let me in the building, where I went quickly to my unit and unlocked it to discover THE UNITS AREN'T EVEN ALARMED! Kristen was amazing in checking me in on time. She was super helpful as she made sure my swipe card worked for self storage as I was having trouble with it at check in. She was super friendly and cared about completing my check in so I could have my hired movers get started right away without wasting any time. There was another tall gentleman(don't remember his name) inside the self storage facility as well who was super friendly and helped us with any questions we had regarding storage and our container. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for moving trucks and storage and would use this same place again if required.Praisy E. | Premières impressions

Worst experience at Meridian Barlow trail. On top of that I still received an invoice after the fact that I had check out from my free one way moved a month ago. I check with U haul why I am being charge and they couldn't figure out why I am still being charge. They can see my account has been closed a while back. When reserved storage I did not know I was being quoted US currency rates. When I reserved for mover I was told I would only be charged for the hours I used, I did not. Often the swipe card machine didn't work saying error or it didn't work when it was below 7 degrees or windy. The front sliding doors weren't unlocked on time and the garage doors often weren't unlocked by mid morning. Found ourselves constantly going to the office to get things taken care of. I appreciated having access to moving carts. it would have been nice for there to be some sort of supervision as people were using more than one cart and there were none left which delayed my ability to move stuff out of my unit. Staff is friendly however they need to work on their accesses I haven't been able to get into my locker with my card or code since I got it, I've always had to go to the desk tell them they tell me its a error with their system and there's nothing they can do so just sit there and let the alarm go off. So if somebody broke into my unit they'd just assume it was me and I pay 150 a month and I can only access my locker during store hours and thats it. In the short time, I was a Uhaul customer (for storage space), I found the facility clean, better than average rates, and the staff were very helpful. The only drawbacks were the long wait times for customer care (by phone) and I also found that the storage rate no longer fit my budget. You're not asking the right questions. Your location is fine... but uhaul has horrible customer service over the phone and I will NEVER EVER support the company in any way (storage, trailer moving vehicle) if I can at all help it. I find it sad because the people working at the physical location a1re really wonderful.. its just the company I have a problem with. Your rental vehicle has demands I do not need at a regular rental agency. Even after having stored and paid on time my rent for my storage unit for almost a year and a half, your employee refused to honour my rental reservation made online after not providing her with more then 2 numbers to contact me. This is the worst customer service experience that I've ever had and I usually don't complain. It took months to resolve a minor issue because the location's manager didn't notate an agreement he and I made. It ended up making it difficult for anyone to assist me because they couldn't act on word of mouth. Unfortunately I experienced a lot of miscommunication, and misunderstandings throughout. When I knew that we weren't going to make it in prior to closing, I phoned the storage facility to discuss options. I was informed on the phone that my father could check me in early, collect our pass and after hours access code, and that we could arrive and unload after hours. Upon arrival, my father was told this wasn't the case and we'd have to return the following morning. Had the information been communicated over the phone when we called, we would've altered our plans accordingly. The following morning, my reservation couldn't be retrieved. Apparently the system wasn't able to locate any reservations using confirmation numbers, and we needed to set up a new reservation. Once checked in, the facility is well maintained, and the process fairly straight forward.Adam S. | Premières impressions

More staff would have been helpful - 1 h waiting in line, with sometimes only one person having to handle all the customers ( And that at 9 am at the proposed pickup time); Also - don't see point of onlinecheckin, which we did, if check-in for uhaul and storage still takes over 1/2 h at thecounter. But on the other hand: courteous and helpful staff at checkin - storage manager Even took time out from her busy schedule to show us the facilities, which were clean and well maintained. I was promised a drive up storage unit on my initial call. They put me at the far end of the building which added 3hours to the move, so far, and probably another 3 hours on the way out. The guy at the front said he would give me 24 hour access but the swipe cards did not work. When we saw the storage, we knew it would be difficult to fit the 26' trucks belongings into it, so the we told the Afterhours lady and her suggestion was to "pack better". We had to stack items do we could climb because I'm not 12' tall. The 10 $lock they threw in does not make up for the nonsense that I endured. If there was any other option, I would be using it. No real problems. There was once that they called us to come look at the unit as they thought water might have gotten in. But it was fine. The place was rediculously hard to contact on the phone under the old management, but I never tried to contact them since the change of manager. I was guaranteed so many things and absolutely nothing worked out. It was nothing but a complete headache. From having to travel an extra 3 hours on my moving day to pick up a trailer in the opposite direction- to the business being closed and had to go to another location. To being promised a storage unit, and a reservation was made to find out it was not. And had to call around and find my own storage unit- to be told that I had a ground level storage unit.. and then showing up and being told no I do not. No compensation was given on UHAULS end .. My comment you won't be happy about ,After driving your truck for 8hrs from kamloops to Calgary and then finding out that I would have to unload my belongings off a 20ft loaded truck ,on the first floor ,go up a freight elevator to second floor down a couple of hallways to the other end of the building ,as that was the only 10x15x10:bays that were left when I had reserved a space way back at the first part of august somebody should have informed me of such , being That I was coming from along way away and not just across town looking for a storage space ,you could have reserved Me something on the ground floor. Uhaul moved our stuff from a uhaul truck into a uhaul storage unit. They just threw everything out of the truck into the unit. I love everything about your business, except the parking lot. The entire process was great until I got to the actual move in. I arrived in the loaded van (I rented from you) to find the parking lot jammed with a tracker-trailer various sizes of moving trucks, vans, and trailers. It was bedlam. You have to wait to load in, in a long line of people returning equipment? That's not efficient. When I drove around the end of the building to access the storage facility from there, we had to get out of the van and move your trailers out of the way to be able to get through. Your staff is fantastic 100 %. Your entry process and parking lot are a gong show 20 %. Your average is 60 %.
