We originally rented at 914 upper james. After 2 hrs of trying to pick up the truck, the gas station attendants figured out the rental was for in town and not a one way rental. I then rented from another location, this one, and the service was fantastic. Only 10 minutes before we were on our way. Wasted valuable 2 hrs renting uhaul from gas station!DANIEL K.

There was lots of room to have the tuck parked closer to the building, but it was parked at the back of the lot. Not a big deal but it is a pretty big lot. They didn't have the furniture dolly available to rent with the truck.ADAM F.

The truck had a cockroach in it. It had not been cleaned an swept out from the previous user. The truck drove pretty rough. Your employees aren't wearing masks an aren't using hand sanitizer when touching customers personal items such as ID. Whn I picked up the truck I had to go wander around the parking lot in the pouring rain to find it. No walk around was performed. When I dropped off the truck the gas looked like it was on a quarter tank and yet I was sent an invoice that said it wasn't. I was charged 24 $for gas and a 30 $service fee for said gas which I was not informed of prior to this. Lastly I was charged 1,49 $ per km instead of the 0,89 I was told it would be and agreed to. I wasn't impressed that all in all this experienced cost over 100 $.JEANF W.

Staffs at the location didn't mind servicing customer waiting in queue. They were busy cleaning the floor and chatting. Had to wait for 20 mins. And then the final rate is calculated incorrectly. I would never choose U-Haul again.ARIVARASAN R.
We requested 8 am pick up. Truck was not ready and we had to wait until 9 am when we had planned our morning reserved elevators etc. The lack of professionalism was clearly apparent and when we received our keys finally at 9:20 we were told if there is a truck in the way just come back and get usâ€¦. You should check that the vehicle is clear to be taken or come out with us to ensure this. We were told we would receive a discount on mileage but I can't tell on receipt if this was received. We have used this location in the past and it was amazingâ€¦ clearly something has changed and I will not use this location again.AMANDA C.

The trailer had bits of asphalt in it when I got it. It was raining and I did not notice until I started to load my things. Asphalt was also stuck in the grating of the tailgate/ramp. The trailer was significantly cleaner when I returned it. I have not approved a cleaning fee and will not. This fee must be removed from my invoice.PAUL B.

The web based "after hours" return process did NOT work for the 3 trucks I recently rented. When prompted for photos of the gas gages and odometers, I could take the photo but the form would just reload and prompt for photos again.RONALD H.
The app was very convenient for making the reservation, the staff made changing to a more suitably sized trailer super easy and the cost was half of what I expected. The trailer was in great condition, towed beautifully and thanks to UHaul I now have a metal turning lathe in my garage. I wish that getting it into my basement was going to be as easy and pleasant as the experience of getting it home!Derek H.

Truck smelled like an ashtray obviously someone smoking in there , seats were not vacuumed and dirty, person who I rented truck from did not go over the outside of van to check for damages , he kept telling me I would be charged for damages if I ripped the floor mat in the truck, he gave me an old dirty cardboard box to lay flat from your garbage bin , it is so dirty the truck even your mat which he told me about when I rented the truck was dirty, when I returned the rental was two staff behind the counter also had no masks on I will not rent from this location againNANCYJEMINA C.

The 26' truck that I rented appears to have a leak as several boxes and items were quite wet after driving them from Stoney Creek to Waterloo. In addition, I was not able to complete the online return process...every time I tried to attach the photo proof of the odometer and fuel gauge readings, the website would reload the same page asking for the attachment.Ronald H.

It is sad to give this location a low rating, as I found one particular gentleman at the front desk to be top notch when I returned the vehicle. The employee that abruptly took the keys out of my hand when I went outside after I returned the cargo van, then told me I could go without carefully listening to what I had to say, all added to below average experience.O'Neil G.
The staff were very unprofessional and very unorganized. The lady Ashley I believe was very rude. While we were waiting for the staff to assist us Ashley and a young man were talking badly about the other staff member that was out on the lot getting a truck for the customer that was in front of us. It took them at least 20 mins to find my reservation and then blamed me because I did it online. On return once again the staff was very unorganized when I walked in I got old Ashley that one of the staff needed to unhook the trailer she said someone would be out and I then asked her if I needed to sign anything for return she said no. Sunday morning Ashley leaves a rude voicemail on my phone stating I needed to return the trailer that was suppose to be returned the day prior at 6pm. When I called Ashley back I was on hold for 22 mins for her to say that the guy didn't see it on the lot I told her that she is the one that sent a staff member out the day prior to unhook it from my truck and it was brought back 75 mins earlier then my paid drop off time. Ashley didn't even apologize to accusing me of not returning the trailer. Ashley should not be working without a supervisor or a manager she is too rude to the customers and clearly has no idea what she is doing if she lost a trailer that was as on your small lot, and not only she lost it she accused me the customer of not returning it. She also smokes a lot of marijuana that is very clear however she shouldn't be smoking marijuana at work as it clearly affects her brain. I would like a response please and an apology for accusing me of not returning your equipment and basically being a thief.Dorothy V.
Based on the customer service experience alone, I wouldn't recommend your business to anyone. I have rented many times from your location and always had a pleasant experience. Secure a vehicle earlier than 2 days from pickup. Have the vehicle ready at pickup instead of having to move other vehicles out of the way first. There were many vehicles available. It should have been easier to secure the vehicle when it was attempted to reserve one 2 weeks prior.MARK L.
I included a dolly with my order, the worker gave me the dolly to put in the truck myself. He pointed towards the back of the lot when I asked which truck was mine. There were 6 trucks there, I had no idea which was mine. I tried my key in several of them before I clued in there was a serial number on the top of the truck which matched my paperwork. Then the key didn't start the truck, so I walked back in and it turned out the worker gave me the wrong key. This whole process wasted 30 minutes of my rental time. I was really disappointed in the entire process. I returned the truck an hour earlier than my scheduled return time. Then I get a call an hour and a half later asking me when I was returning my truckâ€¦ that I had returned well before my time was up. All around it was very disorganized.Jennifer T.

I have sent a report complaining about incorrect gas level in the tank when handed over & had to be corrected after much persuasion and charging for Ins when it was clearly stated we declined Ins. Coverage as we didn't need it, yet the rep. went ahead and incl. and got us to sign with out our knowledge. Both actions amount to efforts to over charge the client. Clients should be on the look out for such actions by reps. trying to over charge. The rating above cannot be changed hence not our ratingsP A.

Called Aug 18 to book appointment for "hitch installation". Earliest date available was Aug 25, dropped vehicle off & came back 1 hr. later to find out NO ONE had checked for HITCH being in stock. Was told to come back (3-4) weeks! Finally had rebooked for installation September 22. No one took RESPONSIBILITY for this mix up! Very disappointed!!!george N.

My rating is average because I was told my unit was being demolished and would have to move ASAP. I arrived at 3pm and talked to office. I was told they were transferring me in a U-box and would get one delivered to my storage unit. After about 30 minutes the guy drove up saying they were just figuring out what they are doing and would just be a little while longer. After 2 hours of waiting I went back into the office to find out what was going on. The guy called his boss and was told they are moving me to another unit not a U-box. I was told the first month was free but I needed to pay the 18 insurance fee. I had forgot my wallet but need to come in to pay my other unit in a couple of days. I had to then go back unpack my truck of the things I was bring home and repack with the boxes to move into the new unit. I received an email a couple of days ago saying that there was a 15 late fee on thec18.00. On May 20, 2021 I booked storage as we sold our home and need storage for a short time. The storage was book and was told given the pass code to enter after hours but the MOST important part they left out was that the access code wouldn't work until after 24hrs, hence why we were locked out. We had to leave all our furnitures in the truck, park on a street. We returned May 21 to store our stuff and was told that, no elevator, so we we forced to cancel the storage and had no were to store our furnitures.
