We originally had a reservation to pick up a Uhaul van from the Capitol Hill Uhaul location at 11:30am. When we got there, the lady told us they had no more vans available and that we would have to go to another Uhaul pickup location on the other side of town. We had no prior warning about this and it ended up costing more money to take an Uber to the further away location and we ended up paying more cause we had to use more miles and pay for Ubers to and from. We even went to the Capitol Hill pick up location the day before to pick up the equipment and the man who checked us out confirmed that we need to go there to pick up the van the next day. We never got a notification that we needed to go to the different location and it put us behind in our move and we ended up arriving late for our move out time cause we had to go to the other Uhaul location on the other side of town. It was very unprofessional and an extremely stressful experience.Ana V.

The return process is flawed. When I dropped off the truck, I had left my phone at home, so I couldn't process it. I got charged a $20 fee because of that.Gonzalo S.

The drop-off location charged me an "after hours service fee" even though I dropped off the truck during business hours. There was even a sign at the drop-off canopy explaining what to do when dropping off a truck during business hours, and a staff member acted in accordance with that sign. There was no explanation from the staff member that I was "after hours." The company has still not responded to my request for an explanation and reimbursement.Charles F.

This location does not accept military and/or Veteran's discount; therefore, I would not recommend the location. Also, my original order was changed from 5x7 to 4x8, and I was not compensated for the reduction in size.Angel W.

Have clear conditions and terms and not switch up my pick up and drop off locations right before i make a reservation. This is obviously a scam and then deemed as â€œuser errorâ€ even tho my original terms and rates were based off pick up and drop off at 2 different locations. Very unprofessional and I will never be issuing Uhaul again, as well as making sure everyone knows how U-haul truly operates. And no fault is on location employees, they were lovely, the fault is on the website that switches what customers put in without any notice.Stefany V.

I ordered a truck for the location nearest me and was offered2 location. Bladensburg and letfeyetta place, u showed up 15min early wailed til 30min after 10, they never showered 1045 I was at Bladensburg and the was very productive and professional.Tiombe J.

A day after I returned the truck (and took a video of me dropping the key in the box), a representative from the drop-off location told me they couldn't find my keys. As soon as I told him about the video he had nothing further to say and hung up. I believe that location is scamming renters.Cynthia B.
The inside was filthy. I had to wipe the steering wheel, dashboard, console, door handles, etc., and there was excessive dirt. In addition, the mileage tracker was inaccurate as I believe it has been tampered with to increase mileage. For example, I traveled from one location to a supermarket that Google maps listed as 3,3 miles away, but the mileage tracker on the car added six additional miles. I called and spoke to someone about this issue but was met with no advice. Once the car was dropped off, I did the same thing, and nothing was said. And as a result, I had to work over $25 extra dollars. Which seems like a scheme was in place. Please advise.Talayah O.

The pickup experience was a nightmare. I reserved a truck and trailer in Northern Virginia, but the day before Uhaul told me I had to somehow travel to two locations on the other side of Washington DC to actually pick up the equipment. I made my reservation for another location, on K st. In Noma (Washington DC). This location was far enough away that I had to take a taxi to get there, costing about $15. The reason they gave me for this switch was that they didn't have inventory at the K st. location. I made a reservation, which should mean the locations hold vehicles, so without this holding the reservation is worthless. It put us an hour behind schedule and led to additional cost purely because of poor planning.Liam B.

This was the worst experience I've ever had from a customer service perspective. I made a reservation and was then told it was basically unimportant as the reservation didn't guarantee a car. I had a finite window to move and had to go 30 minutes out of the way to get the only available car. This was terrible and I would never recommend this horrible company to anyone. The truck I had reserved was given to someone else so i was given a bigger truck which i didn't want. In the end it all worked out. At the dropoff location it was very confusing as to what entrance to use to drop off the truck. Because I went into the wrong one the attendant made me back the truck up and it was very crowded in the lot.Edmund L.
