Also, it would be helpful to communicate the termination procedure with the initial lease, most notably the requirement for 3 pictures. I had to make an extra trip for this. The facility itself is very good though.

Could never get a straight answer regarding any request even after contacting the 800# and requesting on numerous occasions for the District Manager to respond to our questions and concerns. JORGE L | Expérience généraleVery dirty lot had a old chair set in front of unit had to move it down the row then someone threw out a bag of shifty diapers by unit door when we went to get a load there was a bin of electric items by the unit so there must be a company who does that kind of work left and came back 2 days later and it was still there. When calling the store for help with information the girl who was answering was so rude and nasty I ask to speak to manager and was told there is not a manager at this time I asked who I was talking with and real nasty she said I did not give you my name I just hung up Uhaul at other places aways answers and then says their name. Called there again and the same so nasty rude I told her I wanted to let them know I had moved out she said don't call you have to come here and tell us. I once again asked for manager as she is not like that and was told she only works every other day asked when she would be in and was told I just told you every other day. It is amazing customers have to be treated so rude, manager needs to have a conversations with her team about how they talk to customs and the rudeness needs to stop. While moving out there was 2 other people moving and they had complained about a worker who was on her cell phone the whole time he was there to get unit as he had free month of storage as he just moved to Toledo Area and was going to move to another storage as he thinks because he is white they act like that he said racism from the counter people. We were going to dump and had room in our trailer so we picked up a pile of junk and took it away tried to be nice. The people answering phone and waiting on customers are going to ruin the business and make the manager look bad. Hope things get taken care. The manager is a stand up person if manager is same as it was

Thomas D | Expérience généraleI gave 3 stars because Bri & Arianna from Detroit Avenue location were very accommodating & understanding to my situation. Logan from regional management, & Dylan from corporate were very diligent to giving me an accommodating solution, the worker that I dealt with wouldn't let me speak via phone, when I showed up in person she threatened to quit and walk out. She scolded me for working & not coming in earlier & refused to take the lock off my unit & didn't abide by my deal I made with Bri which gave me 24 hours to remove my things, the worker told me I only had 2 hours & said my agreement with Bri was "irrelevant". She was awful, she was the reason I didn't have my things out sooner. June 22nd Bri & I made the arrangement, I called June 29th to confirm & this worker still refuses to give me her name. She was working Friday July 14th & Saturday July 15th (closing shifts) the worker told me I was liar & didn't have an arrangement with Bri & hung up on me when I asked her name. I have a witness to both conversations so I called corporate & was able to get my things & abuse to the agreement. She was awful & should be terminated because she is rude, dramatic & made negative remarks about me & called me a liar & treated me like the problem when she told me didn't know anything. Whoever she is, she needs to be reprimanded for her foul & vile behavior. That is not adequate customer service.

The gate was left open all hours day and night because no management was on site. This is why i moved my storage to a different location. People were going in out of the unsecured gate and didn't need a card. Under the old management, everything was perfect and secure. Very irresponsible of Uhaul to not notify its customers that the location was no longer secured by the gate and thatbtherebwas no longer a person on site 24/7

We were not delayed to start our day. And she was very apologetic and offered to extend our rental, which was not needed, but very well appreciated the offer. Great service.

They weren't engaged with another customer, they were just driving around. When they finally answered my question as to where the unit was located they did with attitude. I had movers I was paying by the hour. It shouldn't be that difficult to be pleasant and helpful if you're a staff member. Disappointed and won't use again.

I was informed by your employee that my lock was cut & replaced due to you Uhaul's contract which states customers are "move-in"" & move-out" if you don't move-in within 24hrs. Of course this is untrue. As a result I was asked to drive to the location to sign a new contract, pick up a new pass card & new set of keys to my new lock. The contract your employee attempted to switch out had a later move-in date & also claimed I did not have an email address or insurance. None of it made sense so I stated I just wanted to pick up my belongings. When I opened my unit with the new keys I was provided by your employee, I had been robbed to the tune of $20k. I filed a police report which is still under investigation. Next, I came to learn UHaul's preferred method of insurance coverage" which is purchased through ,UHaul does not cover theft. The Regional Manager, Cory, didn't call me until 3 weeks after the theft. . You're employee's robbed me & your Regional Manager ran me in circles. He also tried to say I put my stuff in the wrong unit. The detective acknowledged this was also untrue. I choose UHaul to store my belongings because of your claimed security only to robbed by your own employee. Despicable that your employee is using your company to rob customers and your company & management made this situation worse by doing absolutely NOTHING to help.

Since this Byrne Road facility has changed management and eliminated the Byrne Road office hours, I couldn't wait to move out. The Detroit and Glendale office location is not convenient for me, and the staff is not friendly and professional. The icing on the cake was the damage that was done to my belongings when the overhead storage unit doors were replaced. As a renter, I complained to the Detroit/Glendale office and was told they were not responsible for the damage. I had 3 boxes of glassware tossed over which caused it to shatter. I also had a large solid wood dining room table top broken in half. It would have taken an immense force to break it. I no longer trust that my belongings will be safe, and I will never be back.

We had two storage units and my daughter lost a key to the second storage unit but didn't find that out until the night before our truck rental and move. There is a 48hr notice to have a lock cut off. The Detroit staff was able to get someone out the same day. I really appreciated that because who really wants to pay for another truck and trip again. Joseph N | Expérience généraleIf you don't have a trailer that can be safely and easily towed for my vehicle, don't give me the largest size of trailer as a backup for what you lack in stock. I was unable to tow the trailer with my Subaru Impreza, I had to borrow a truck last minute to tow this trailer for a 7 hour away move. This was an unnecessary complication. I would rather been offered a U-Haul moving van to tow my car, than be sweet talked to taking something larger than my own vehicle.

He tried giving me a card to access my storage and they do not use card. He charge me for a lock when he knew he didn't need to but the lady that works there she came in I think off a break and she was amazing.!!

I was told that my account would be ending as of Saturday, October 15th. I was told I didn't have to do anything else. The account with you would be closed. On October 24, the monthly rental fee debited from my account. I was very upset about this, as I was told the account would be cancelled as of that last date, October 15th. I called UHaul and was told it would be reversed. As of today, it still is not back in my account. Hopefully, it will be very soon.

The lady suggested I drive to another location and hope they have a truck for me. Did not assist me in anyway to figure out a solution. She kept telling me I shouldn't have made appointment for when it wasn't open and that I wasn't going to find a truck on a Saturday morning at 830am. Thankfully, the 3 gentleman who worked at the location were outside cleaning up and let me in early so I did not have to wait any longer. They were more helpful than the lady in customer service. The gentleman working at this location explained the mixup and worked with me to make it right and send me on my way.

Fernando SOverall it was a secure place to keep things temporarily. The grounds was very secure, safe, and well maintained! Other than that I would not recommend due to the fact that the staff customer service is extremely poor. I don't think it's intentional but it is a lacking area that needs to be addressed and trained! I have a bachelors in communication studies and a lot of things are lacking professionally based on my experience of learning. There is no tone of consideration, lack of empathy, lack of regard to customers, little politeness, and more. Overall, I hope this gets better but I wouldn't recommend if your looking for a caring, attentive staff to go along with your storage needs!

DAVID MI recently have used the Byrne Rd. UHAUL during a move. I used small trucks taking small loads as I was doing much of it myself as my wife as I are downsizing. But on a day I had reserved a small truck, I had to go to the hospital overnight and I called to cancel the truck. The team understood and reserved the truck for me on another day. When I came in to get the truck, they expressed happiness to see I was feeling better and were helpful at getting me what I needed. It felt like I was dealing with family.

It rattled constantly and every little bump in the road made it sound like your bumper was being ripped off. I stopped several times to check the connection and tried to tighten but no improvement. This made for a very uncomfortable experience. Other than this issue, everything else was fine.

TERRENCE SI had reserved a moving truck along with a storage unit. Everything went fine with my truck reservation, truck was clean and did the job. But when I got back to drop my things off to my storage unit and return the truck I was told that they had sold the unit I reserved earlier that day. With no other units available, I ended up with nowhere to take my couches, dresser, or box spring that I had which ended in me having to get rid of them and a drag in my day. I was told that just because I made a reservation did not mean that it would be available, but I'm sorry I thought that was the definition of a reservation? Would not go back.

Even though I have received confirmation that my move-out request was processed, I still keep getting charged for the storage unit. The first storage we went to wasn't safe and we were rented a storage unit that was already occupied so we opted out and chose the Byrne Rd location.

There were 2 times in the last year that my storage had a lock put on and even after I paid it was not removed. I had to come in personally and have it removed. When I did finally get everything out of the storage I wasn't able to dispose of 1 large item so I left it. I received a phone call at 7:15 in the morning to inform me I was going to still be charged rent for the unit. I told the lady over the phone I will not pay rent but if they remove the item I will be more than willing to pay the disposal fee. She had an attitude with me and got a bit huffy with me stating the fee is $250 and she suggests I come dispose of the item myself even though I had told her multiple times I could not. She then proceeded to tell me that it'd be in my best interest to pay the fee otherwise it would go into collections. I feel this was unnecessary for her to call me so early, to get upset after I asked her to go ahead and have it taken care of by their company and to make me feel like she was threatening me with collections without giving me an opportunity to pay the fee. Very unprofessional last experience! Chad and Chris were amazing over the past 2 years!
