Seems like there is a lack of training in using the computer to rent the equipment or the application is to convoluted. It took me an hour to rent a 5x9 ramp trailer and I was the only person in the store when I walked in. It took several phone calls to the store manager, who was still u able process the transaction, after which she just gave up and hung up the phone. After another Employee tried again for the third time he was able to complete the contract. Needless to say I was very frustrated with the lack of knowledge the employees had in operating the computer system which they said had a “glitch”. It seems unimaginable that a company this size that relies on the general public to maintain its business would have such poor customer service. When I returned the rental the Store manager met me at the drop off and checked me in. After waiting a few minutes she looked at me and asked if I wanted her to unhitch your equipment. Really! She looked at me as if she was mad and said I would have to wait until someone came out. I don’t work for Uhaul and she was expecting me to do the work! Again terrible customer service. In closing, I expect a response from someone with authority to contact me. Like the email said, you have my information. Just to be clear the location I’m referring to is the Super Center at 5208 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond VA. The frustration involved with this rental was totally unacceptable. I have talked with other customers from the area and all have said the same thing, it’s horrible customer service. Other than the lady manager who was rude at check in the employees that were trying to complete the contract were very nice and apologetic, but that only goes so far when they tell you your card is rejected( that I just used before going there) and 3 attempts and an hour later I finally leave the lot. Not only is my time valuable but the the time you paid 3 people and someone on the phone is poor business management. There is no way you made money on this rental. I don’t get it?? Please be clear I expect a full refund to my card for this contract and if that doesn’t happen and I am not contacted I will be escalating this until I get someone to contact me, if not, I will be contacting the BBB. It took me over an hour to complete the self check out. The app does not work well at ALL. I was highly disappointed in that. The staff at this location were very friendly and helpful! My only dilemma was the STUPID app!!!

The customer service was excellent and all employees were very professional when accomplishing their job. In order to further improve your service, I would encourage you to ask the customer if they will pay with the same credit card used to hold their reservation. Some customers used their credit card to purchase items online and to hold reservations; however, they may pay with a debit card.

I called and spoke with representative at location. While my Minister waited at the location for me to arrive. I have rented from you for several months, same time, every Saturday between 5:30pm and closing. Chaz has been so very helpful, knowledgeable, professional and most of all, COURTEOUS. The young lady was none of these, first of all. But even with her rude customer service, we thanked her and left. When I looked at my account, it was overcharged $20 more than our weekly fee. After reading the receipt I noticed the young lady charged us $20 after hours fee...I again became furious all over. When did we occur an AFTER HOURS FEE BEFORE EVEN RENTING THE TRUCK???? I personally don't think I would like to deal with customer service like that. I appreciate the young man, Chaz, but expect to be treated similarly by all U haul staff.

Have a better system to keep track of damage. The Associate asked me if I had damaged the truck in one spot. To my knowledge, nothing happened to it under my watch, but I didnt go over the truck with a fine tooth comb and see what damage was already there either. I wasnt offended that he asked, but it shouldnt be a question at all. Take photos of the truck before it leaves or something because the current system of putting x stickers on it doesnt seem to be the best system. Other than that Marcus was extremely friendly, quick, no hassle, and my business was taken care of to perfection. Couldnt ask for a better experience

Ensure you have safe and functional equipment before confirming a reservation. I had a car dolly reserved for a return trip to FL, but when I arrived, two dollies on site were broken, and the one I was given had one of the lights about to fall out. There wasn’t another dolly within 75 miles.

The specified place in my rental contract would not take the truck because they were over their limit. Huge inconvenience and lack of professionalism at the rental origination. These guys made it seem UHaul can have trained and friendly staff. They did all they could to try and make a bad situation good.

This location was extremely helpful. The only thing I would have any issue with was the rental was set up at a location close to me but I ended up having to go to a different location to pick up the equipment. The Pick Up location did let me know before hand so I did not have to go to both locations.

I reserved the 5x8 cargo trailer a month before picking up - when got there trailer wasn’t available. I didn’t receive any form of notification. Even though I left with an 6x12 bc I didn’t have any other options customer service is below average.

My card was charged $155 for an amount of mileage I did not drive, somehow the teller who checked me out mixed up the mileage (123) from the 10 foot truck I reserved instead of the 15 foot truck I actually used. I am very disappointed about this situation and he did not verify the payment or mileage with me before processing the final payment. This has been the worse experience thus far with uhaul and I am very dissatisfied. It is very difficult and stressful to move, in addition to the unexpected charges and wait days to be reimbursed when there are other bills that have to be paid...

The inside driver Compartment was full of dog hair and smells like pot. The back loading area was dirty and needed to be cleaned before it was loaded. I’m in the process of moving from Virginia to Pennsylvania and will need to rent again I’m just not sure if I’ll read from Uhaul.

Renting trailer in Richmond is a joke! System is not good for renting a trailer. Equipment should be available at closest location when reserving a trailer. Same with trucks. Why can't equipment be moved to rental location?

'll start by saying from start to finish my experience was nothing less than deplorable. I hired movers through the U-Haul website and a few days later they called to set up my appointment. The start time I had chose with U-Haul did not work with their schedule so they asked that I contact UHaul for an earlier pickup time. I called 2 weeks before my move to try to arrange this. I sat on hold for no less than 25 minutes. The representative finally assured me that this need could be met. I was only moving up my pickup time by 30 minutes. The day before my move I went online to just verify everything was in order. Come to find out my pickup time had not been changed. Frustrated, I called again, this time waiting on hold for half an hour. Once I was connected, the representative was unable to help me so I had to be transferred to the scheduling department. Finally, this representative was able to arrange the earlier pick up time. However, instead of it being from the location that was 2 minutes from my house, the new pickup location was 25 minutes away from my house. I had to Uber instead of walk which just made this experience more expensive than it already was. I had tried to avoid all of this by calling earlier, but NOTHING was changed. There was no apology or anything for a mistake that was UHaul's fault. On the day that I returned my truck, I went to the exact location that was listed on the paperwork that UHaul had provided. When I got there, the parking lot was basically empty, and someone strolling by yelled "yeah, they moved down the street about a mile." How in the world, was I supposed to know that the facility had moved? There was no email, call, or any form of communication letting me know the facility had moved. I drove down the street to the new location where I waited in line for 30 minutes because the manager, who was the only person available to help customers was arguing with another customer. The man had ordered one size truck and UHaul provided him with the wrong size truck and he was frustrated. The manager said to the customer "well, this is your fault. There is nothing I can do for you." When the customer asked for the customer service number or a representative the manager said "I am customer service." Finally, the manager was able to assist me. The manager told me that I had rented a storage unit down the street, not at this location. She was correct, however, I was renting a storage unit at the location of MY LISTED drop off. Doesn't it make sense to want to rent your storage unit at your drop off location since all of your belongings you wish to store are already in your truck? After much debate and the manager leaving to "see what's what" in the back she was able to rent me a unit at this location. Last week, I called UHaul again because I was needing information on how to cancel my storage unit, how much notice I must give, and what the overall process looks like. After waiting on hold for another
