I had a 5 x 8 reserved at Buler Street in Chesapeake Va. and when I arrived the young lady was very rude and told me "It aint going to happen today" because my standard F-150 ball was to high and she would not offer help locating another u-haul that would help me. I was blow away!! . 3 hours later I found another dealer in Suffolk Va. that had the trailer and hooked me up right away. Very disappointing. DaveDAVID H.

I ordered furniture pads and a furniture dolly. When I arrived at the location, I was informed that this particular location did not carry either. It should be noted on the website to prevent any confusion. Additionally, I had to ask for a lock for the back of the truck, as the lock that was already on the truck appeared broken and without a key.ANDREWRYAN O.

When I rented a trailer, as a storage rental customer, the woman working there was rude and unhelpful. She could or would not help attach the trailer to the hitch and was rude and snarky. "Traffic" sent me to a location 45 minutes/one way from my original reservation location, though there a MULTIPLE locations with 20 minutes! Trailer was too small and due to work circumstances could not return it sooner. Returned it to a center close to my home though was told I needed to return it back to the location I picked it up from...another 2 hour r/t away. Could not do so as I had to commence my move out of state.JOHNLEE B.

When I called to reserve a trailer the lady told me that I needed to get my receiver hitch inspected because I didn't know what brand it was. I told her it was GM factory equipment and she still insisted I get it inspected. I ask her where and she said any U-Haul but she couldn't do it. I asked for a location that could and she told me Pruden Blvd. when I asked for the address she said google it. After a little discussion she gave me the number. That guy said he couldn't inspect it and gave me another number. That lady said the first lady didn't know what she was talking about and booked me a reservation at the first place I called. That first lady gave me an inconvenient run around for nothing. I wish I knew her name but nevertheless they need more training.PETERANTHONY P.

I had reserved a dozen packing blankets which they did not have also they didn't have the appliance hand truck and she tried to give me a small hand truck to move some heavy appliances. I requested the truck with a moving dolly for a short move to our new house. I arrive to pick up my truck and I am informed they don't have any moving dollys that I had requested a week in advance. I was guaranteed that all equipment was available at this location however the attendant told me that only the vehicles are guaranteed and not the equipment. That significantly slowed down my moving process and made things more difficult. Then the truck only had 1/4 tank of gas when I picked it up so I needed to refuel PRIOR to doing any real moving. I was then informed that I would not be reimbursed for any additional fuel that would be returned with the truck. So my petty ass drove all over town like a pissed off teenager burning off all my extra gas after I was done moving to return that truck with exactly the 1/4 tank I rented it with. The online process for renting and returning a truck is convenient and easy, but the store's execution of the process is lacking. I would chose a different company next time if there was somewhere else conveniently close and available. I suppose a business model of supply and demand allows some companies to not try as hard to meet customer satisfaction and minimum standards when the scale is tipped in their favor.Kyle M.

The staff was pleasant, but more attention to detail is needed. Lights were not checked on auto transport trailer (daytime running lights were not operable). One of the straps securing tires was frayed almost beyond use. Ramp was faulty and took staff 15-min. to adjust to realign. (As info, at drop off, staff had to disassemble, as they could not realign.) Entrance to driveway was blocked by parked vehicle, so had to drive truck w/auto transport through the storage facility, then couldn't get out until staff finished loading another customers trailer (15 min) because gate was locked. All and all, we accomplished our mission. The staff was pleasant, but the equipment and orientation of parking/entrance and exit needs to be better management.Rebecca F.
First let me say I rent from uhaul pretty frequently, feel free to search by number 8182972769 or name Allen Bradshaw. The service I received today was by far the worst ever. The gentlemen that was there was rude, unprofessional and lack of knowledge. I will never use uhaul service again after the service I received.ALLENKEITH B.

I found the return process after hours to very difficult for not everyone is computer savvy and the checklist fir the return was extreme difficult for me and the surcharge for not being able to complete the process myself.MARYCHRISTINE C.

I was told when I made reservation I would be picking up at a Location about 10 minutes away. When I arrived my pick up location had changed (the day before) to a location was almost an hour away. Terrible. The local pick up people at both locations were great. Whoever made a reservation and gave me pathetic notice and really no chance of changing it should be fired. Customer service was great.. truck was horrible and needs to be decommissioned. Absolutely should not be re-rented... steering was all over the place. Transmission tried to fail when I hit the brakes.. It was ok on the interstate but on low speed roads I really thought it was gonna die. I never comment on stuff.. but this truck was that awful.James D.
For starters, do not make a travelodge hotel that doesn't have any trucks a pickup location for a truck rental. The manager of the hotel said this isn't an uncommon thing for uhaul. I arrived at my pickup location at my pickup time and there were no trucks. I had to call 1800 uhaul and have them change my reservation. The people that I had inconvenienced to help me move had to stand around and wait for me to drive further from home and go pick up another rental. I will never ever ever again rent from uhaul.SHANNON D.
Very disappointing experience. I made my booking 2 weeks prior to the date I will use the truck. I was all set and arranged labor for my move when I my pick up location was changed to a place more than 40 miles away from the original location. It was lucky for me i dropped by the location the day before the pick up date. When I reach to the new pick up location I felt i was treated a staff who showed no compassion. The night prior to the pick up I spoke to someone named Andrew and made it clear I will pick up the truck from the new location but will return to Ahoskie. The lady staff who processed my check out told me I must return the truck to their location or I will pay about 1 000,00 $ charge. I have to agree with returning the truck to that suffolk location for cancelling it can be more expensive. It added to my expenses with truck mileage and gas plus I have to add one more labor so I will still have time to return it the same day as I need to have some to pick me up from the location in returning home. My worst experience with Uhaul. I have to hold my frustration and focus on my move. I felt unjustly treated. I was thinking Uhaul was taking advantage because they monopolize the area. This last experience with Uhaul was totally opposite to what my experience prior..JESUS K.

Storage was good . Staff were good especially about correcting their mistakes. For some reason a few times my card was said to not be on file which charged me a late fee but they corrected it. The only thing I dislike is whenever I call I never got an answer so I had to come up there which was ok because I lived near but it was just sad they don't answer the phone at all. My code to enter the gated facility wasn't working and I had to call Heather to help again get me in with my two helpers.
