Cameron was very helpful going above and beyond when help was needed. My car broke down in the U-haul parking lot and Cameron was able to help me get a truck and trailer, then proceeded to call some of his friends up and helped push my car into said trailer. I can't recommend this place enough and I am extremely grateful. Fortement recommandé!

JOSEPH SReservation for 09NOV24 rental was made two weeks prior. Reservation was for a 6x12 trailer and utility dolly. At time of pick up no utility dollies were available for rent despite store employee telling me there were "many in the back room." There were three utility dollies in the lobby on display. Were there equipment shortages the store and/or U-Haul had two weeks to contact someone. No attempts were ever made. Utility dolly was rented because I have a bad back and cannot lift more than 45lbs without suffering painful consequences later. Store employee tried to rent me an appliance dolly at a higher rental rate. I stated this was unsatisfactory, why an appliance dolly did not suit my needs and would be just as bad as no dolly, and that if a higher rental rate was to be incurred it was the duty of U-Haul to cover that difference. I was told that a reservation simply secures the equipment, but not the location, if I need a 26' truck and the only 26' truck in my state is a 4 hour drive away then I would have to make that drive. The utility dolly situation was eventually resolved when I was forced into purchasing a utility dolly rather than renting one, after being told several times that the dollies in the lobby were not for sale. This utility dolly fiasco also cost me one and a half hours of money as I had people waiting at my house to help load the trailer, they had arrived on time and I owed them pay for sitting around doing nothing because of U-Haul's first failure. Next was the trailer. Store employee directed me to a trailer and hooked it up for me. Upon getting the trailer home and backed into my driveway I have noticed that the electrical cable for trailer lighting was dragging on the ground, the store employee had not properly hooked the trailer up. After loading the trailer full I noticed the unit number and license plate number on the trailer did not match what was on the rental contract thus putting me at risk for a felony theft charge were I to be pulled over between trip origin and trip destination. I had to spend an hour of my time away from helping to load trailer and tow vehicle to get this squared away. By the time U-Haul customer service was reached everything was loaded and the people hired to assist me had been paid and dismissed. U-Haul suggested I return the trailer to the store, I said this would only work if U-Haul paid for personnel to load my belongings into the new trailer. My call was then forwarded to the rental store so I could explain their error to them and have them correct it. Years of renting from U-Haul and I have never encountered such unprofessionalism and incompetence. TL;DR Reserved equipment two weeks ahead of time. Equipment wasn't available, no attempts to contact were made, lost money due to U-Haul employee incompetence.. U-Haul employees hooked up trailer wrong. U-Haul employees gave me incorrect equipment putting me at risk for felony charges.

Now they offer ways to "save" cost off of rental by transporting ubox, to go half way across country it would have only save 700, barely the cost of gas and way more hassle. Shame on them and its crap they don not offer any savings for early return

The leather like coating was completely worn off and showing foam on the entire thing making your hands sticky with gray stuff from the steering wheel. The seat would not move forward and I had to ask a staff member to scoot it forward for me because it was impossible for me to do by myself. It was however cleaned right as I was picking it up so that was very nice.

When no one came out I went in and two employees were sitting on their phones. I said I'm trying to return a truck. She said "oh our cameras aren't working." No apologies. Ask my name and said you're good to go. I'll admit that we were about 30 minutes late dropping it off but we had to wait. They charged me a full extra day! I would NOT use this location at all.

Loaded the uhaul and filled it up with gas only to realize that it was leaking gas so half of our gas money was wasted in the parking lot of the gas station. Had to wait for roadside service to come fix it. Then had issues with the lights halfway through the trip.

They were always friendly and helpful And I have recommended this facility to several people over the years. I particularly liked the general manager Who was there for many years (Sam Crane) & Frank, his 2nd in command. Sadly, I found out that Sam is now retired BUT. Good news is that Frank is now the General Manager! And sure enough, Frank yet again came through for me In my pretty urgent time of need for immediate storage!

STEVEN LWe actually rented from Strasser Hardware Store in K.C.,Ks. Upon arriving after much time the clerk told us that they put the trailer out of service on Friday for repairs and no one called nor did we here from any U-Haul personnel that this had happened and we wouldn't be able to use the trailer on Saturday at noon. We had been been by the location on Thursday to make sure there was a trailer for us and indeed there was a car hauling trailer. So when a rental equipment is returned why is it not checked at that time??? So next is the clerk told us they had a trailer to rent out of Independence, Missouri and they would give us a fifty dollar credit for our inconvenience as this is about a 45 minute trip further out of our way and we also lost time on this transaction. Upon arrival at the Independence, Missouri store the gal clerk couldn't find the rental agreement but a higher up gentleman found the correct information which indeed said there would be a fifty dollar credit. Our gal clerk walked us back to the trailer for our use. Once hooked up she never even checked to make certain that a proper light connection was usable. We get home 2 and1/2 hours behind our schedule. We go to our car show event around 7:30pm and within ten minutes they announced the car show was cancelled due to high winds, lightning and possibly hail coming that way. After going back home we decided to drop our car and take the trailer back to Independence on Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. So on Monday we received the bill which charged us for 2 days usage instead of 1 day as they didn't check in the trailer until Monday morning???! So why the hell is this our problem as we had it back before 11am Sunday morning per the contract. So we called the U-Haul location in Independence, Missouri where we were told they would credit 1 day and credit 1 insurance fee but that we couldn't get the fifty dollar credit but would have to call the hardware store in KCKS to get them to issue the credit???? Once again why the hell do I need to do your job U-Haul employees??? We'll never rent another trailer if at all possible due to the lack of proper service we received during our need to haul a classic car to the car show event. Sincerely a very frustrated customer
ILLIAM SThe truck itself was below standard , The front end bounced as if it was missing a wheel weight or something, it also wondered around constantly and made driving difficult at times, wind shied wipers did nothing but make the windshield smear and very difficult to see the road, Overall it was actually treacherous at times, I have a reservation for a tuck and trailer rental and I may be second guessing my rental with U_Haul Thank You Lawrence McCarvell
LAWRENCE MI was told the rental was ready while in the store and I had to double check to make sure it was the correct one which took 2 minutes. Once I got back to the counter they had already rented it to someone online! I had to go to a different location to get another one. That was a bunch of crap being I was already in the store dealing with one of your employees

I also see on the app and directly on the gates at the facility that extended 24hr access may be granted upon request. These are the sole reasons I rented the unit here, because I was in need of later access hours as I am in a rush to move in addition to working all day. When we arrived around 8pm with 3 truckloads of our furniture, clothes, home decor, etc., we were told they close at 8pm. After arguing for a few minutes, they at least agreed to allow 1 truckload to be unloaded. The rest had to stay in truck beds and on trailers all night and fully exposed to the weather elements. Our furniture, mattresses and other belongings were rained, well poured, on. I am very, very upset and feel completely deceived by the confusion of the hours we can access our unit. I don't feel like I should be charged for this first month as compensation for my severely damaged items after it was confirmed to me I had until 10 pm when I booked. I was also denied the extended 24hr access when I requested it because they claim too many people were staying in the units. That's not my problem and it is clearly advertised although it is not actually an option at all. I would have never rented this unit had I known, and I was lied to and my items were ruined as a direct result of your false advertising and incorrect information provided by customer service. I deserve this month for free and a refund should be happily paid to me for my inconveniences.

I don't think the business should be the only one with access to MY UNIT it should be a 2 person to open it. I have one set of keys and the business has the other. I'm just not comfortable giving you 100 % trust at this point in game. I felt like I needed to take pictures of my unit just in case someone got in there without my consent. That is the biggest reason I left.

I do take issue with the fact that twice payment was "returned to bank" from corporate. However, I received no notice and neither did the bank. Being as I am military and a lot of your customers are military I find it appalling that is how we are treated. i do not believe UHAUL that the money was returned to the bank since I was not notified, nor was there a returned fee/notice/transaction with the bank. The bank representatives, USAA, said this is common practice for UHAUL. UHAUL stole $189,9 after I was erroneously enrolled in automatic payments instead of a one-type debit payment, which resulted in "returned payments". I made a payment EVERY month on time in addition to the two charges which were supposedly returned to the bank.
