Keyshaun D.I had a hiccup at the first with the arrangement of my storage unit ordered online verses when I arrived to pickup my access key due to a clerical/technical error and almost got locked in that very night after unloading my first load into my newly assigned unit but all services and staff were exceptional and took care it while I went through a medical procedure and within 24 hours. I felt well tended to and the unit was perfect, the Temp control never failed and my belongings were safe, the restroom always clean, the elevator never broken down and even though my unit didn't have a working interior light the hall timed light was plenty to access my unit and fulfill my needs and purposes. For someone who went through one of the toughest times in my life you guys made my life much less difficult with decent pricing and a place of security for my prized possessions. Thank you so much U-Haul Storage family and Manager Kim your personal help throughout my time at the unit made me feel contentment and trusting of your facility and staff. If in need service again I will definitely be a return customer.

This van was very dirty and the tire sensors were bad, meaning the warning light was on the entire time (I was told at rental to not worry about it - they just have some vans with bad sensors). Also, they didn't bring the van up front but told me I had to walk to the back of the storage warehouses and get it.

I actually left the office to get in the rental and came back in to tell them that it actually had 1/8 of a tank. I drove 22 miles total and put in $15 in gas before returning. The low fuel light came on when I pulled out of the parking lot. You charged me for extra charges for fuel and I will dispute these charges. Over $60 on charges that need to removed immediately. This is not right and I will come to the office tomorrow. Please remove the extra charges immediately as this incorrect. 803-513-0000

Joseph M.U-Haul new hire rep quotes me a price on shipping blankets so I rent for 10 days. The following day the manager calls me and said they will be billed per day, which is not what I was told. She then accuses me of having read the sign I pulled the blankets from on multiple occasions which is 100 % false. I then have no choice but to purchase 6 bundles of blankets. Will never shop at this location as there is zero customer service and nothing but accusatory tones. I have a suggestion, train your people better and don't blame the customers your providing quotes to, especially when it's all on video. If I could rate the experience less than poor I would.

An employee name KIM charged me extra 20$ for not doing mobile check. I uploaded the picture but it wasn't working and still charged me 20$ for no reason… I been renting for a while will avoid this location.

We were told it was due to a leak somewhere in the building which required electricity to units in our area to be turned off, but it wasn't fixed during our move-out visit 10 days later. Made the process a bit more challenging.

The attendant said we could not leave it there and to take it to another location. Then when we unhooked the tow dolly to help her out because we were not taking it to another location, she comes out and tells my boyfriend ‘Now you're just being ridiculous! If you had told me you were going to unhook the dolly, we would have had a different conversation!' And proceeds to talk down to him! I have NEVER seen or experienced such an unapologetic, rude and nasty person who deals with the public! Shame on this location if they don't fire her!

THOMAS M. | Expérience généraleI actually had some terrible experiences with your phone lines, being transferred from one department just to be told that I needed to be transferred to another, whom ultimately transferred me back, stating that they didn't handle my change of reservation. Luckily for me, LAMAR at your zimalcrest location in Columbia SC is as proficient as he is, and truly made up for my poor experiences with the rest of the associates. Although accountability on our part is needed for the mishap with the reservation and the size of the storage unit, Lamar made the process so easy in contrast to how difficult every one else made it. He is truly an asset to your company and is well-equipped with all the traits you could ask for out of someone representing your company as a whole. If it wasn't for him I would have left a 1-star review. He was articulate, accurate, hard-working and put forth extra effort to ensure customer satisfaction and his above and beyond tenacity is resounding. Thank you LAMAR!!!

ROBERT B. | Expérience généraleWe arrived ten minutes past the office closing time after a multi-hour drive through traffic, with multiple parties meeting from out of town to help move. When we got there, the office employees were walking around closing up for the day. We asked if we could get access to our storage unit to unload the (largest) UHaul truck we had rented on our one-way move, and were told the systems could not process our unit access 'after hours'. We ended up having to pay for overnight parking, have our friends and family drive back home overnight and then drive back in the morning, and then access the next day. It was a miserable experience, all brought on by the poor customer service of not letting us gain entry ten minutes after hours. We understand it was at our fault that we arrived late, but we believed it was an easy fix and we were lied to about the processing of our order. The staff was obviously ready to leave and not deal with us, so we did not feel welcomed or satisfied on any front.

MICHELLE M.When doing my online reservation for the storage unit, I was told that the truck drop-off could be updated to the Fernandino Road Storage location, and no charge was mentioned. The customer service representative at the store location was very helpful in getting me access to the unit as quickly and smoothly as she could, but she could probably use a little help when things get busy. Also, she was unaware of the $103 dollar charge that was applied when trucks are not dropped off at the location listed on the contract. I ended up driving 40 miles to obtain the unit, and wasn't informed until the representative at the office called me back after nearly an hour after dropping it off, and said that she was just informed of the charge from her manager on-site. U-haul has always been my choice for my moving needs, but not being informed of such a high fee is unacceptable, and almost seems intentional. I am very disappointed in that aspect.

I will never use U-Haul again for anything. The ridiculous fees they charge if you are one day past the due date and the service the staff provides are unacceptable. I was never more than 2-3 days past my due date, because my life as most people is very busy. But I came to my unit and a lock was on my unit. So I drove 30 minutes to my unit to grab a few items for my son only to find I was locked out. When paying $115 for a tiny 7x10 unit, I should be able to access it when I need to! I was yelled at, cussed at and hung up on by the manager at the I26 location when I called to discuss the situation. 8 months at this facility and nothing but issues! Could never get in touch with anyone. Even the reps at the 800 customer service number are not the friendliest. I'm DONE with U-Haul! There are too many other companies that are better priced and believe in good customer service.

There were multiple times we had issues with the elevator opening and closing and even moving when the buttons were selected. *We were unable to get in touch with the office by phone during the time we had to unit. We were also unable to contact the office to close out the account. Even the customer service line was unable to get in touch with anyone in the building to notify them that we cleared the unit. * Customer service notated in the account that we moved out and that would be enough since no one was able to reach the office. I received multiple calls and emails regarding the account being past due before receiving this survey. Even today I was unable to reach anyone at the office to discuss this matter. I will be back in Columbia in a few weeks and I would like to speak to the manager about this matter.

Davis P. | Premières impressionsWhen I first came to that location on Fernandina road Great manager she always looked out I paid my storage on time because I'm on a budget I'm disabled this new lady comes in and nickled and dime me to death true enough I know the pandemic isn't the greatest place to be in at this point in time in life but business is business and she was all about business and wasn't given any breaks I make a payment if I had a balance I got charged more than what I paid so I had to leave and the young man that she has working for her is dumber than a bag of rocks couldn't take payments for accounts that's in the hole because the manager wasn't there came there several times to make payments he couldn't take the payment because of the fact that I spoke with the manager and she didn't relay the message to him needs to be a dialogue between manager and employee she needs to trust him to do his job and he needs to know his job with that being said that's why I left the facilities have a good day.

I filed a claim but haven't been able to speak to anyone about it for weeks. Even if they don't intend to compensate me, I feel they should tell me. I spent $1,800. at that facility.

Since there aren't lights in the units, it was pitch black in my unit and I had to use the flashlight on my phone to look around. There needs to be more lighting and maintenance of ones that burn out. There were too many rent increases that occur every year and a half or so. Otherwise, my belongings were kept safe and I appreciate not having to worry about my things being stolen.

I was denied any coverage as they said it was from climate issues. Purchasing their insurance seems useless. And a climate-controlled unit shouldn't develop mold.

However, over half of my valuables were ruined due to mold, which was not present when I initially moved in. I was not offered a satisfactory resolution. Furthermore, when I cleaned out my unit, i documented a watery-orange substance had leaked into my unit from the adjacent unit. I have pictures of the mold damage. I'm just asking to have April refunded since I moved out on the 12th, before the monthly due date. I was a customer for years, I'm disappointed it has ended this way.

Carolina Sunshine f. | Premières impressionsUhaul has not maintained this site, the building has leaked due to poor maintenance, water destroyed all my wedding photos and personal property that I tried to keep secure in a conditioned unit inside the building, uhaul refused to investigate the cause of the damage and left me with absolutely no information as to how anything happened and I was on my own to solve the mystery. I had my own insurance that refused to help because uhaul wouldn't investigate their own damages to how water got into interior unit. Photos are irreplaceable and this one hurt bad with zero customer service.
