When doing my online reservation for the storage unit, I was told that the truck drop-off could be updated to the Fernandino Road Storage location, and no charge was mentioned. The customer service representative at the store location was very helpful in getting me access to the unit as quickly and smoothly as she could, but she could probably use a little help when things get busy. Also, she was unaware of the $103 dollar charge that was applied when trucks are not dropped off at the location listed on the contract. I ended up driving 40 miles to obtain the unit, and wasn't informed until the representative at the office called me back after nearly an hour after dropping it off, and said that she was just informed of the charge from her manager on-site. U-haul has always been my choice for my moving needs, but not being informed of such a high fee is unacceptable, and almost seems intentional. I am very disappointed in that aspect.

The truck  rode well at times,but the transmission system wasn't good at all. It sounded like it wanted to break down after my driver applied the breaks. I also noticed the address on my updated identification card wasn't put in correctly and the zip code was wrong. I didn't expect simple things such as these to be in error. The truck  was returned in the same condition as I received it. I will used UHaul again. Have

When trying to check in using my mobile phone, it required me to use the GPS feature of my phone to confirm I was at the correct location. I was there, but it kept saying that I was not at the location. I needed to go inside the office and retry a dozen times before it finally found me. Updating the acceptable radius for "you are at the location" would be helopful.

I was lied to by your uhaul employees at the 3754 Fernandina rd ….. they told me the were only holding my card on file and charged my card $1 159,36 after they said they were not processing for 3 days and processed it instantly and now I cannot eat now for 3 days because you took all my money ….. I never had light in any of my units. After Breanna Harvley left, the manager at that location (can't remember her name) was horrible, she was rude and unprofessional. Beverly was pleasant and helpful when I needed assistance with the light issue. Prior to the new manager I would have given an Excellent 5*. Breanna Harvley was a pleasure to work with.

The overall rental of the truck was good. However, I had also reserved an appliance dolly to go with the truck. After confirming availability of the dolly on the day before the reservation, it was not available upon pickup. This forced me to rent at another location after picking up the truck, and delayed me an hour of moving time.

The attendant was very nice and helpful. The truck had 133k plus on the odometer and needs work. The transmission did not seem to be shifting properly. Overall I didn't trust the truck. Since it was local driving I tolerated the issues. On the plus side I thought that the facility was nice.

I have used U-Haul for my moving and storage needs many times over the years, but no longer after this experience!! Worst service experience I've ever had! I will never use U-Haul again for anything. The ridiculous fees they charge if you are one day past the due date and the service the staff provides are unacceptable. I was never more than 2-3 days past my due date, because my life as most people is very busy. But I came to my unit and a lock was on my unit. So I drove 30 minutes to my unit to grab a few items for my son only to find I was locked out. When paying $115 for a tiny 7x10 unit, I should be able to access it when I need to! I was yelled at, cussed at and hung up on by the manager at the I26 location when I called to discuss the situation. 8 months at this facility and nothing but issues! Could never get in touch with anyone. Even the reps at the 800 customer service number are not the friendliest. I'm DONE with U-Haul! There are too many other companies that are better priced and believe in good customer service.

Our storage unit was on the second floor. There were multiple times we had issues with the elevator opening and closing and even moving when the buttons were selected. *We were unable to get in touch with the office by phone during the time we had to unit. We were also unable to contact the office to close out the account. Even the customer service line was unable to get in touch with anyone in the building to notify them that we cleared the unit. * Customer service notated in the account that we moved out and that would be enough since no one was able to reach the office. I received multiple calls and emails regarding the account being past due before receiving this survey. Even today I was unable to reach anyone at the office to discuss this matter. I will be back in Columbia in a few weeks and I would like to speak to the manager about this matter.

When I initially went to the office no one was in office, this was around 430p on 2/21/22. I waited until 440p and no one showed up, the store was empty. I called out for someone and even called the store phone and no one still came to assist.. I then decided to leave and come back around 630p and someone was then there to assist..

The problem with the vehicle I rented was disturbing because upon starting the truck the engine was extremely loud. We realized that the vehicle was missing the catalytic converter. The worker came out to listen to the engine but he said that the sound was normal. I have rented U-Haul before and I have not heard one in such poor state

I paid in advance and actually did not pick up until a couple hours later. They would not allow a grace period which sucks. That is the only complaint that I have. Everything else was great.

When I first came to that location on Fernandina road Great manager she always looked out I paid my storage on time because I'm on a budget I'm disabled this new lady comes in and nickled and dime me to death true enough I know the pandemic isn't the greatest place to be in at this point in time in life but business is business and she was all about business and wasn't given any breaks I make a payment if I had a balance I got charged more than what I paid so I had to leave and the young man that she has working for her is dumber than a bag of rocks couldn't take payments for accounts that's in the hole because the manager wasn't there came there several times to make payments he couldn't take the payment because of the fact that I spoke with the manager and she didn't relay the message to him needs to be a dialogue between manager and employee she needs to trust him to do his job and he needs to know his job with that being said that's why I left the facilities have a good day.

I put too much gas in the uhaul and y'all money hungry asses still charged me for the 1 mile I went over bringing it back. Run me my money back for that extra gas or go suck the gas out the uhaul so I can put it in my car. Gas too high to be playing with y'all like that fr!

I stored everything for 18 months. When I moved my belongings out of the unit, I found that the roof had leaked and some things were ruined. I filed a claim but haven't been able to speak to anyone about it for weeks. Even if they don't intend to compensate me, I feel they should tell me. I spent $1,800. at that facility.

I was told I would have to leave my personal vehicle registration with them if I wanted to rent the pickup truck. Then when I came back to return the truck not only did they leave after assuring me they would be there, but they held on to my registration for a full day without my consent. This whole place is illegal and unhelpful. Would not recommend.

I am very disappointed in my most recent UHAUL truck rental experience. Overall, everything was going well until I returned the truck. The guy working at the facility overcharged me. He charged me a $25 cleaning fee because some mud was on the floor of the driver's side due to the constant rain during my rental period. Additionally, he charged me for a dolly that was already on the truck when I rented it and I didn't use it. I felt as if he was trying to overcharge me unnecessarily. He didn't discuss any of these charges with me and had I not reviewed my receipt I wouldn't have known anything about the additional fees. Poor experience - last time renting at this location.

My reservation was for Broad River Rd. When I arrived, I was told it was transferred to Fernandina Rd. None of the card info was at Fernandina, so I had to contact my grandson to get his info again. I gave it to the desk clerk. He had to refresh his computer⁸, so I had to call my grandson again to get his info. It was a hassel!

My unit was in building D. The hall My unit was in was very dark and had a burnt out light. Since there aren't lights in the units, it was pitch black in my unit and I had to use the flashlight on my phone to look around. There needs to be more lighting and maintenance of ones that burn out. There were too many rent increases that occur every year and a half or so. Otherwise, my belongings were kept safe and I appreciate not having to worry about my things being stolen.

I had a climate controlled unit. I paid for insurance. My belongings developed mold that clearly came from a damp pipe. I was denied any coverage as they said it was from climate issues. Purchasing their insurance seems useless. And a climate-controlled unit shouldn't develop mold.

I moved into the facility in 2005 and still there in 2021. Now have two units. Always clean and secure. I highly recommend this facility.

I moved out on the 12th, I was charged for the month on the 13th and have not been refunded. In addition, I had many antiques and specifically chose climate control. However, over half of my valuables were ruined due to mold, which was not present when I initially moved in. I was not offered a satisfactory resolution. Furthermore, when I cleaned out my unit, i documented a watery-orange substance had leaked into my unit from the adjacent unit. I have pictures of the mold damage. I'm just asking to have April refunded since I moved out on the 12th, before the monthly due date. I was a customer for years, I'm disappointed it has ended this way.

Uhaul has not maintained this site, the building has leaked due to poor maintenance, water destroyed all my wedding photos and personal property that I tried to keep secure in a conditioned unit inside the building, uhaul refused to investigate the cause of the damage and left me with absolutely no information as to how anything happened and I was on my own to solve the mystery. I had my own insurance that refused to help because uhaul wouldn't investigate their own damages to how water got into interior unit. Photos are irreplaceable and this one hurt bad with zero customer service.
