My experience with this move was the worst move I've ever made dealing with uhaul dot com. From beginning to end. The employees were great at the actual locations I dealt with. The move was horrible. From getting the u boxes to pack my house in South Carolina, to the boxes being delivered and not being picked up for 5 days after being empty.

Roaches in the unit and when I lost my access card was told by the "owner" they hadn't passed out access cards in the last year but then when he saw that I had just rented the unit 3 weeks earlier just stared at me shrugged his shoulders! Definitely do not recommend this location!!!

Location for pickup were very polite and helpful. Very understanding when I had to extend my rental by two days. Sad to say when we dropped off truck at this location the (very) young man behind counter was rude, over confident in his position and lacked customer service skills. He was more concerned about how he was right and Uhauls policies than listening to my questions about billing. Moving can be stressful enough, but having to to be assisted by a young arrogant person in customer service is unacceptable and unfortunately I am seeing this more and more.

The cost of a one way rental truck (15ft) is absolutely immoral. It's a prime example of price gouging and taking advantage of a situation. There's no reason for a truck to be used for a few days to cost over $4 000 (including taxes). Where I understand supply & demand, profit & added fees for taxes and insurance; what was paid is outrageous - 10 % of the vehicles market value is unconscionable. I would ask that U-Haul looks at its on site algorithms when providing pricing.

This is the 4th time I've used Uhaul and it's the same problem EVERY TIME. They are always overcharging my card and I have to call and get it resolved. This has been every time. If I wouldn't be the type to keep my proof of payment and receipts, they'd keep the money every time because they always ask for proof or it won't be resolved. Good thing I have proof, but for the people that don't, this company is a SCAM.

I am being charged for gas (13,5) because the app said it was given to me on half but I provided a picture before I left showing the gas was not at half but the line before half. I returned the truck with the same gas I received it. A manager was suppose to call me today but no has contacted me. I even went to the drop off location and reported it.

Hire local rental agents who care about customer service. I rented from Kaliste Saloom location in Lafayette, La. The young man seemingly in charge wouldn't even tell me his name. He was intent on charging me an additional seven or eight dollar fuel charge when I had only driven 17 miles. He was the afternoon counterperson! The morning counter person assured me that his store's policy was to not levy additional fuel charges when such minimal mileage is driven! I accept that I have to pay a per mile charge of 0,69 cents, but we're talking about a tack on of 8 dollars which would have amounted to almost $25 levied for mileage and fuel. The young man seems Ill equipped to relate to customers on a regular basis and I surmise he should be a candidate for Anger Management training!! If not for the online CSR, Kimberly Rubino and Jerry in the local marketing office, I may not have received satisfaction! My hat's off to them!! They were fantastic!

The website was not accurate in the arrival date when I first booked. It also took an extremely long time for the boxes to ship. Uhaul was in possession of the boxes for 2 weeks. It should not take that long to ship the boxes. I called uhaul to get an update on my boxes but they did not know where my boxes were. They were just “in transit” but wouldn't tell me where. They just gave me an expected arrival date which I didn't trust because they were already late dropping the boxes off by a few days. This was a very bad experience overall.

Nothing I reserved was actually what I got. I wanted a pick up, I got a 10' van, and the crapest of them too. The AC didn't work. No backup cameras, the latch didn't work. I should have not paid a single penny for this horrible experience. Someone didn't return the pickup, touche I should not be punished for it, especially if you were gonna charge me the same. Outrageous from you lot. I will never use u haul again

The truck was reserved a month ahead with a preferred pick up time of 7am. Two days before I learn that I can get it at 2pm. Apparently there was only one truck available and it was not returned in time. By nearly 4 the truck had still not arrived. This was very detrimental to the scheduled and safety of my move. The staff at this location were trying to be helpful and got us a different sized truck which made the move more difficult. The staff were kind and apologetic but this experience has made UHAUL loose a costumer for life.

When you offer reservation for a storage rental unit or accessory piece for moving, that reservation should save a spot and our equipment. When I first try to pay for my rental unit that I reserved, I was told I was third in line for the unit. Also when I rented my truck to move equipment, the utility dolly was unavailable. I had reserved that online as well. This is unsatisfactory and inexcusabe!!!!

Although the U-Haul staff was courteous and amicable to findings solutions which ultimately solved the problem, this last U-Haul experience was the absolute worst. Every experience was inconvenient, from the initial problems that arose with the pickup. It was only the willingness of the staff at the Kaliste Saloom location (specifically Mr. Sonnier, the sales representative) to find working solutions that allowed me to get the U-Haul I ordered, albeit, over eight hours after I was originally scheduled to pick it up.

I actually would not recommend Uhaul as a company. The location did all it could but unfortunately uhaul doesn't seem to care that they reserve specific size trucks out , then when you arrive to pick it up, they down sized your rental to a moving van that can not hold or fit an appropriate amount of stuff for a move. We received no phone call or notification of this change. We could have at least had time to make other arrangements or look into other rental companies. According to guy at uhaul location, “this happens often” and all he could do was look for another truck which was not found in a 100 mile radius. I will not trust uhaul for any other needs

When a customer calls the location of pick up they should actually get an employee that works the location of pick up. Not the national 1 800 UHAUL. When you call the location of drop off you should actually get an employee that works at the location of drop off not the 1 800 UHAUL. Thursday July 28 2022 we called the 1800 UHAUL number and made a one way reservation for Saturday July 30 2022 for a 26' from Youngsville La 70592 to Natchitoches LA 71457. We were told closest place to pick up was Cajun Hardware Kaplan LA at 10 am. Moving. Under contract. Closing. New owners. Time sensitive. We drove several hours to location. Location turned off. Blocked. No longer taking UHAUL customers. We called UHAUL for several hours. At times using multiple phones. 1 800 UHAUL. Traffic #. Supervisor phone numbers. Etc. Left on excessive holds. Calls dropped. Transferred. Traffic # consistently after giving details of your situation we're told you've reached New Orleans let me transfer you to Baton Rouge. More excessive holding. Baton Rouge would answer let me transfer you back to Louisiana. Then here goes the final transfer. Excessively excessive. Music and repeated voice eventually stops. Then just nothing. In outer space. Customer service…. Now that transfer was even a bigger joke. One employee. One after five hours of relentless calling emailing and chatting only one employee tried to help. She actually explained things and where we need to be and what we need to do. She apologized so many times for everyone at UHAUL failure. Customer never picked up. Ever. Consistently heard over and over the pre recorded message that this number could not help with truck reservations or cancellations. To hang up and call another number. Emails were never responded to. Chatting took forever and only one responded only to tell us to call the traffic number. The New Orleans/Baton Rouge/Louisiana number. Extremely upset angry deflated disappointed etc. Took off work. Very short window. Time sensitive. Expensive. And a total waste of precious time and money. Zero accomplished. To date we still have not heard one word from UHAUL. Not one. Nothing. Zip. This experience I rate you a negative. Zero. Our experiences with the Kaliste Saloom branch in Lafayette LA and Hwy 89 in Youngsville LA in person on site is exempt from this complaint. No issues. Ever. Multiple business transactions starting April 2022 to current.

Kareem saved the day! I reserved a rental for a Sunday using the truck share 24/7 option, and once I arrived to the pickup location, their was no truck in sight! I was very upset as this was my last day to move. I called customer service and hold time was 30+ minutes, and the phone hung up. I called again, same hold time and was told my reservation was still in scheduling, and they had to transfer me to another department to get another pickup location. The next person I spoke with said a family was returning for 2:30, it was 1:30 at this time, so I reserved for that truck. Got to the location where Kareem was working, only to find out the truck was in limbo and the family may not return for that day. Kareem then went above and beyond, which he didn't have to, to find us a truck!! Crisis averted, he was very kind, knowledgeable, and respectful. I was very appreciative for his service, after the initial mess up with U-Haul. It wasn't his fault, but he acknowledged the issue and and inconvenience we experienced, and he made it right.

I wouldn't even give this location one star! We did the online reservations. When we went to pick up the cargo trailer, the women stated she has never rented them. We tried to show our reservations, she was she wouldn't even look at it and restated she didn't rent trailers. Was very rude and wouldn't help us. Found another moving trailer from someone else.

First, Nicholas L. was professional and easy to work with and I am so appreciative. However, my overall experience was mind boggling awful. I made my reservation online and was informed that someone would contact me w/in 24 hrs. That never happened. When trying to confirm my reservation I literally stayed on hold for several hours, transferred to different departments, which all transferred me back to the previous department (some of which in the wrong STATE), after which I was told no truck was available. I settled for a different time. Got there at my assigned time. No truck. And no apology. I missed work hours trying to arrange the vehicle. People were rude. My time AND DATE were changed on the day of pickup without notifying me. The hold time was ridiculously long. The absolute worst customer service I have EVER received from any business. It's shameful that a reputable company can be run so incompetently and with no regard to customers. Moving must be done on a finite timeline. People have to be scheduled to help with the move. They show up ready. And there is no truck. This is unacceptable for even a start up business. But for a nationwide, established business it is reprehensible.

I don't usually leave reviews but this service was just outstanding. We had reserved a trailer @ another U-haul place in Lafayette and it hadn't returned. So they contacted The Kaliste Saloom U-haul and saved one for us. We were moving my Aunt out of state and couldn't delay to wait for a trailer to come in on Monday. Brett got us all set up to come back and pick up the trailer when it was returned. He didn't have the trailer size that we had reserved at the other U-haul, but gave us the larger trailer at the price we were quoted. While he was getting everything set up the trailer returned and we were able to rent it right away and leave with it. Brett had other people waiting behind us and kept say to them that he would be with them in just a moment. It was the end of the month and lots of people were needing rentals. Brett was just awesome and went above and beyond with an issue that wasn't even his problem. My husband & I were just super impressed with the job he did. My other family had set everything up for us to come get my Aunt who just got out of the hospital over that weekend. We were pressed for time and Brett helped out in a very stressful situation. Would give him 10 stars if we could. Great Job Brett...

If I didn't show up early the unit would have been blocked. The 2 that was there wasn't the most polite people. I went by the fuel information and still put $30 bucks to much. But I guess that's by design. Floorboard was sticky from a split drink.

3 rentals in 2 weeks and all were a nightmare. Terrible service throughout Uhaul. Still fighting to get the 2 credits promised to me. Nobody in uhaul organization cares about customers. Highly recommend trying to use anyone but uhaul

I reserved two storage containers at this facility and when I showed up with the U-Haul, the two I reserved were not available and I ended up with smaller ones that could not fit all my stuff. Don't let customers reserve stuff that's not available especially when planning a big move. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time so I could have shopped around!

Busy street. Hard to get out of the lot. It's on a curve. Blind coming out the parking lot. Cars come around the corner really fast. Dangerous. Need some type of mirror to see what's coming around the corner or alt exit route

During the checkout of the storage reservation on the internet, I was informed of not being charged for the 1st month of storage due to reserving a 20' Uhaul truck in conjunction with the storage. Upon checkout & signing the documentation at the facility, the service rep did not want to discuss or explain as to why I was informed of not being charged for the 1st month of storage rental. She was very inconsiderate and slightly rude.

I only use the storage building for half of the month of October and was told that I would not be able to receive a discount for this month. My things have been in your storage over 18 months. It seems to me that U- Haul would help out good paying customers. Just like you want good or bad reviews from your customers we would like a little help from u guys as well . I had two of your building and never miss a payment. I moved my things because the rent went up and I I still trying to get back into my house. Things are very riff a this time and having to live on a fix income is not easy.

The manager was excellent however the unit I originally reserved was not available when I got there to sign and pay. Thankfully the manager had another unit available to suit my needs. I would highly recommend the manager for promptly making it right. I seems there is a communication disconnect between physical U-Haul storage facilities and the online service. The online service just lets people reserve units that are not physically available. U-Haul should talk to the physical store before allowing reservations. This very well could have become a very bad review because I drove an hour and a half to get there after I spoke to the U-Haul customer support center that confirmed everything was good to go. Thank goodness that the manager there was able to get me into a unit regardless. Some people may not be so lucky in the future. U-Haul should communicate with the facility manager to confirm the number of units available for reservations before letting customers book a reservation. I gave 4 stars because I didn't have to go find another place to bring my truck load of stuff. The staff at the facility deserves 5 STARS! The online customer support deserves 2 STARS for not actually confirming my reservations with the facility staff when I asked for a confirmation before making the trip and told me the unit was available. If I had gotten there with all my things and the manager couldn't rectify the problem I most probably would have never done business with U-Haul again because of the false confirmation I received from the support center.

The manager there gives exceptional customer service. All of his staff is friendly and helpful. This location is by far the best U-Haul location that I have ever been to and the best in Lafayette, LA.

Needed a storage unit to store a few things, I went online to try to find something convenient and in my budget. I decided to go with uhaul. When I went to get everything set up, I was promptly greeted. The staff at this place is amazing, they took to time to thoroughly explain everything I needed to know and answer any question I had.
