1. Allow the customers to call the local branch, and only roll over the calls to the call center when absolutely necessary. Give the customer the choice of being directed to the call center or staying on the line until a rep from the local branch can answer the call. 2. Accompany the customer to the vehicle and BOTH the customer and the Uhaul rep inspect the vehicle for damage and AGREE on the extent of the damage BEFORE the vehicle leaves the lot. Sending the customer the link to inspect the vehicle AFTER the vehicle has left the lot, and not advising the customer that the link is even coming is very counterproductive and aggravating. 3. Check in the vehicle as soon as it arrives, not 30 minutes later, which (in my case) resulted in an extra day of rental charge, that I discovered only after I reviewed the emailed receipt, because they were "too busy" to check in the vehicle and provide me with a receipt when I arrived. After calling the service center (since you can no longer call the local branch (see #1 above), I was able to get the second day charge removed after I proved that I was at the drop off point well ahead of the expiration time. Just extra hassle that nobody needs.FRANK S.

The two young men who helped us were nice and did a good job. I was stunned, however, to find out only when I got there, even after speaking to U-Haul representatives on two occasions, that I had to load and tie down my vehicle on the trailer myself or go to another location and pay $55 to have it done for me because they were not trained to do it. Good thing I felt confident enough (after watching a video) to do it myself. There should have been a very visible disclosure somewhere.CLINTON H.

New policies require the user to upload a selfie photo to the uhaul portal to verify the idetification card. This a security risk as with all things on-line the uhaul servers can be hacked and its data stolen. I do not aprove of this method and I will not be recommending uhaul because of this.Victor C.

I ordered a 15' truck, got email the day before that I have a 15'. Got to the place and gave me bigger truck. They said I should have got a call , but didn't. The truck was too big for the spot it had to park at. I would have canceled it I knew it was no a 15' truck. But I already have my help with me. Made the move a lot harder because was no notified of the change. Very poor customer service. Then I had to pay for the larger truck size that I didn't need or wantGary S.

Stored track car and trailer outside but under cover. Pigeons everywhere and the staff really didn't seem to care. While well lit and probably cameras, no gate to speak of to get it and out so one has to really make sure everything was locked up. So access was easy not only for me, but for someone who may have more nefarious interests. I was charged for my rental on the 27/28 of the month and moved out on the 31st and really not sure why there was no credit considering I was paying $245/month - started at $235 but of course they raised the cost. Not only that but I was promised a "reserved" space INSIDE but when I came back 2 weeks later to move in, wonder of wonders, I was told no, we don't reserve those spots so it wasn't available. Oh, and for 1/2 of my stay there, the promised electricity available so I could battery tender the battery in my track car was non-existent because I was told the breaker kept tripping on that circuit and no one had fixed it yet. For $245/month, I'd expect a lot better and CLEANER accomodations.James B. | Expérience générale

Had issue with a reservation I made. The reservation was canceled 5 days prior to my informed move in date when the employee who set it up informed it would be kept for a week. Then when called the employee moved me in these 5 days early which started payment instead of being moved in on my informed date and payment beginning then. The need of a second or third reference is ridiculous. If I am renting a unit, why would I need anyone in relation to me to be involved. Especially with giving all information at the start and setting up payments. I booked thru the 800 #. The guy was nice but gave wrong info, saying the guaranteed delivery date was a worst case scenario & it would def be there sooner. Turns out that is 100 % not true according to everyone else. The delivery gal did not call before arrival. For delivery, I got 2 calls, 9 txts & 9 emails. 1/2 said between 12-1 the other between 12-3. The next day (last guaranteed delivery date, already scheduled a ton of times) I get a txt from a AZ # saying my Ubox hasn't yet arrived in CA yet. What??? After being on hold & transferred for about an hour I found it it did finally get delivered & scheduled for the next day. Again, way too many txts & emails with different times. I took another day off work and changed my plane tickets AGAIN. At 2:30 still no box, so I called. Was told that my Ubox was still sitting at the Uhaul facility & they could probably deliver the next day (day 3). I said NO and was on hold & transferred a bunch again and by 3:30 was finally got someone who called the driver directly and had her go back for my box, which arrived way late in the day. Too cold & dark to empty the whole thing. Another day lost. To top that off, the Ubox was all janky on arrival but was fine when I packed it. Damage yo the outside. Slightly tilted to one side. I had to use a hammer to get the latch released. THEN discover that Uhaul hadn't removed the L shaped bracket you screw in, that I assume is to keep the door shut. My screw gun was inside the Ubox! Had to go introduce myself to a bunch of neighbors I don't know and ask to borrow their tools so I could get inside. Once inside I found that a BUNCH of stuff was broken. I'm no stranger to cross country moves & usually pack a Uhaul trailer or truck. I even have my own moving quilts & know to put the heavy stuff on the bottom & light on top. It's as if my Ubox got dumped upside down & set upright for delivery. Metal shelving on top is smushed. Solid wood pieces that were well secured are broken. Punctures in my table. Things that would never happen in normal transit. So, I was lied to about the delivery date/time. Even then, you guys missed it â€¦ twice. A ton of stuff is broken. I missed 3 days of work & had to change my flight twice, which isn't free, btw. Thank god for Claudia in the San Rafael, CA scheduling department. She's the only one who actually got things done and talked to me like a real human rather than just saying so sorry for the inconvenience, we're short staffed. Dude. Should have told me that b4 I booked. I would have driven it there myself in 5 days rather than being in my new place with nothing for 3 1/2 weeks. I will never ever use Ubox again. Ever. When I picked up the truck it was on empty even though the paperwork said 1/4 tank. This was incorrect. Gas light was on when I started it up. I returned it on empty the same way I received it. These trucks should be full and if not returned full THEN there is a surcharge to fill it. But when you pick up a truck the first thing you shouldn't have to do is find a gas station. For this reason and this reason alone I gave you an average. The clerk I dealt with was professional and very pleasant and the store was clean and inviting.Brian H.
Despite receiving a confirmation that the vehicle I had chosen was reserved for me, upon arrival the day of moving I was given a larger van. Apparently the confirmation doesn't mean anything. The front desk attendant did try to compensate for the larger size but if you don't have any space to put larger vans or are avoiding having to maneuver the larger moving vans I would not recommend.Victor C.
Very difficult to make reservations. Called location for rental. Truck was available but would no take the time for pick up, I said I wanted 9 am. Had to wait until got text from U-Haul. 100/100 stars! Uhaul in Bedford New Hampshire is by far number 1! Tara and Sam and the whole entire staff are polite and very helpful. I'm so glad I came across this location. Through out life we all meet lots of people and go to lots of businesses, if you want to experience the best customer service 24/7 365 I recommend you go to uhaul in Bedford NH, it's 5 minutes south of 293/101 and 25 seconds off route 3 ( exit 13) thank you to the staff for always being there for me whether it's to rent a trailer or to keep my boat safe.Steven R. | Premières impressions

1) the lift gate was hard to open and close; it was frozen 2) The service person was not friendly at all, he was staunch, stoic, did not smile, did not greet me at all in any friendly manner to make me feel welcome; He was strange, millitant and had very poor customer service people skills. This is a turn off, but I guess retail will take what they can get. It is just a shame the multi billion dollar companies cant train their people on how to treat a really nice customer, on how to smile, look at the customer, be nice, pleasant, and make them want to be there. With my interaction with the service person, I could not wait to get out of there. If I was running the training program, I would have a whole day on how to treat customer's 1:1 like gold and learn how to treat them like human beings. 3) The agent could not lift the hitch on the trailerBradley T.

I had made a reservation for the cargo van and the Insurance for the extra $10. When I arrived to pick up the van I was told there are none available? Although there were a handful on the lot when I arrived. I was told there were none available? I was given a truck as a substitution and was told it would be the same price as the van however it was not. You charged me $14 for the insurance on the truck instead of the $10 which would have been the charge had you honored the reservation for the van. Your published $50 equipment guarantee was never honored either? Lots of false advertising and bad information. The same 5 vans that were on the lot, were still there when I returned the truck. (Should U-Haul, through its own fault fail to meet time, place and equipment size of your truck, trailer or towing equipment, a $50 "Reservation Guarantee" will be paid and U-Haul will still attempt to fill the reservation. Dollies and pads are not covered by the $50 "Reservation Guarantee")Sal D.

The ramp dropped & completely fell while unloading vehicle, causing ramp to seesaw and hit / damage my tailgate, breaking off ramp secure piece and reflector. I was able to insert ramp to trailer to return. I explained the situation to Crystal the next day, as I dropped off after hours Saturday. She took pictures and informed me that the manager would call me Monday. It's Tuesday evening and I have not received a call or email. The trailer was â€œinspectedâ€ and deemed ok, so luckily I informed them that that it was damaged and should not be used. I'm surprised that u-haul does not have a safety checklist to check equipment and question maintenance practice company standards. If this rating was for the two ladies I dealt with at the counter who were very nice & efficient, Crystal being one of them, I would rate excellent. Very dissatisfied with lacking follow-up / responsive after minor accident, but accident nevertheless. Don't get the impression that a safety culture was being reinforced.Carlos D.
It would be helpful to be able to add commentary on the app when you check in to describe some of the cosmetic issues with the uhaul. For example our windshield had a small crack in it that didn't show up on the picture you had to approve. Just a suggestion.steven M.

truck I rented was undrivable so we had to go a few towns away to get a smaller truck than what we wanted/needed. even at a 'reduced' rate, still had to pay for over 30 miles of additional mileage that I shouldn't have had to pay for and it accounted for HALF of the mileage and ended up costing me way more than it would've if I had a truck in town like requested.GRANT H.

I was offered two months for free when I rented the storage at Nov 2021. One was the offer that rent a storage get the first month for free, another one was offered by the staff who said if I pay one year in full I can get another month for free after one year rent. Then I paid the one year in full. On Nov 6 2022, I passed by the facility and double checked if I will get the second month for free before next payment. A staff found a note in their system, which said because I paid in full I get another month for free and next payment should be in Jan 14 2023. She told me "no worries, if you are charged on Dec 14 2022, just give us a call and we will issue a refund for you". Therefore, I called the facility after I was charged on Dec 14. HOWEVER, the manager of the facility refused to refund and said they never offered the second month for free and they didn't find any note regarding it in the system!!!! truck ran fine . However the crack driver side mirror was a bit of a bother. Seeing 3 images rather than one isn't great. The mirror had been tagged so no charge to me . Very disjointed service. Your local schedule if and long distance hauling people do not communicate. You only got a 2 instead of a 1 because The actual drop off and pick up and drop off drivers were great and the person telling me the long haul was not picked up (Fernando) was helpful. I was especially frustrated dealing with your Florida scheduling department. They called to tell me my items would be dropped off a my Florida home the next day on the 11th when I had just been told minutes before the boxes were still in NH because they had even been picked up in NH yet. When I told the scheduler it was impossible she was less than helpful and instead of saying she would check on it , told me it was up to me to find out when they would be transported and then I would have to call them. She refused to listen and said she would schedule the delivery a week and I could call them when I found out they were in Florida .she works for Uhaul I do not and when I insisted your departments should talk with each other she hung up on me. There was more miscommunication with you Florida scheduling department on picking up the empty boxes. The miscommunication causes a great deal of frustration for me which could have easily been avoided if all your departments talked with each other.JUDITH W.

The only change recommendation I have is to provide customers with smaller time windows for the day when a box will be delivered or picked up. The only window we could get, even when asking early in the morning of delivery was between 8am and 6pm. This is inconvenient and should be easily remedied.john M.

The unit I rented online, when I showed up to move in had another lock on it, then when I went to the office the employee told me it's my unit and to drill the lock to get it off as they couldn't find anyone to do that. When I drilled and was unsuccessful I went back to the office where the manager for the day named Sam, arrived in a very nasty attitude looked in her computer and said someone messed up and that it was not in fact my unit, then told me I had to pay for the lock, after an employee of hers told me to drill it! Absolutely rude and made their problem become my problem! If I didn't have a trailer load of stuff to unload I would've driven away and gone to blue bird next door. I don't understand why it is possible to make a reservation for indoor storage on a certain date, but then when that date approaches be told "sorry, unless someone moves out, you won't have a spot where you reserved." The person on the national reservation line confirmed that yes, I would have a reserved spot on that day, but the person at the store said that isn't true, those reservations really are only a priority in case a vacancy opens up. Tara was awful to work with! The power has been out on my RV row for MONTHS! I've gone in and asked to have it repaired numerous times. Tara just gives me a blank stare and does nothing. Tara and her staff are great the places clean. After leaving Manchester I found rat feces all over my unit and also I had to go through all my boxes about 30 of them and found phases in my clothes. I know they will rat feces because the person that was helping me was a real estate agent and was totally freaked out about having to work with me after seeing that. I want the fee at Manchester New Hampshire unit of unit 2824 waved as a result. I had to move because I had a brain tumor I couldn't afford their fees and their service was horrible. We made a reservation online for a 10x15 storage unit and entered in my credit card info. When we went to the facility to check in and get our unit number we were told by a lady that they didn't have any of those left. Thankfully, Cameron stepped in and found 2 units for us- a 10x10 and a 10x5. Although they are note a drive up unit (they are 2 separate units inside on the second floor) we were relieved that Cameron did what he could to help us. We don't know why you would take a reservation for a unit and then not have it for us when we come with a full truck and a full car and then tell us there aren't any available. It was a very stressful experience and we will not be recommending this facility to anyone. We were very impressed by Cameron and his effort to help us and ensure a place for us to store our belongings.cathy h. | Premières impressions
