You know what they say about first impressions? Well If I went by that I would NOT be going back, BUT I know it can be better. The details of my 1st visit are very long so I'll just hit the highlights. 1.: The e-mail I received said that I could AVOID the desk & go right to my storage using my "Access Code", WRONG. 2.: I find my storage room & there is a lock on it. 3.: The door to my storage room is opened and low & behold someones stuff is in there, so the room is NOT even ready for me to use, I have to wait for it to be cleared out. 4.: The e-mail I received said that a lock would be in my storage room, well of course there was no lock in the room. 5.: The "check-in" & "check-out" process was NOT explained to me when I was given my key card. The very nice young lady that cleared out the storage room explained all that to me, if she hadn't I wouldn't have known that I had to check-out before I left the building or I wouldn't be able to get in on my next visit. That young lady was the reason I didn't take my business elsewhere, she was very nice & sweet & kept apologizing for all this "stuff" that wasn't even her fault.

Charged a 112,90 $ to rent a 10x10x6 only to learn this unit was too small. I then asked to move to a larger unit (on size up), but it appears as though I've been charged for both. It appears as thought I've been charged full price for the unit which I only occupied for 4-days.

This location need to be shut down immediately for God's sake, for the past five years peter st. U-haul is always a mess I had 2 u box job at this location had a 20ft truck to pick both at the same time the manager (useless) said my truck will not fit in the basement where u boxes are kept asked for a smaller truck he said no he can't rent me one I made a reservation on the phone with u haul got one at the same location at 1pm. The employees are over worked don't care about the customers waited over three hours to get help to load u box the attitude of the guy loading the u box was terrible I had to cancel the move before this get out of hand my customer got mad destroyed my company image on Google and several online platforms all because of u haul in efficiency to provide quality service. I'm considering all my legal rights at this point against u haul. Wale Yussuff Ay moving company LLC.

Overall it was and good an easy experience. Maybe a little better communication in the emails. At time the emails were a little confusing as it felt like I was getting new emails to complete tasks already completed.

I made the reservation online, when I arrived to the store I was given the wrong information. They could not do separate payments. They ran my card once, realized a mistake. Then tried to run my card again after they said they credited the first one but then said I'm sorry sir your card declined. I asked why and they said they had to run it again for the new transaction and I said your first run hasn't been credited back to me, it's only been a minute since you ran the first one. Then I was told by the general manager I would have to call my bank. Who told me to contact the merchant who charged the amount. They knew my reservation was for a long trip, over 1500 miles through 7 states some desert. The trailer I was given had bad tires. I encountered two separate blow outs two consecutive days! I would not recommend this location to any friend and depending on how U-Haul would like to compensate for my troubles, I'd like to talk to the media and the better business bureau and submit pictures of the equipment that was given.

Very slow and poor customer service. They did not care that I was there. The "24/7" checkin option was not set up when I got there. Rented hand truck was not in vehicle. When I returned the vehicle, it was 10 minutes after closing. Lots of workers standing around outside. As soon as they saw me, they all went inside and left me with no instruction. One I know was the "general manager" because he checked me in. I used the after hours self return option on my phone, but was still charged the 20 $"service fee". It's not the 20 $would have been glad to pay it, but you would think at least the manager would have taken the time to tell me what to do. I am in management and have to work late all the time, I sure wouldn't leave a customer like that. They close at 7:00, I pulled in at 7:08. Never will return to this location. They got there 20 $but cost themselves repeat business. Their loss.

Need more staff or at least more services offered online or via a kiosk or something that can be completed without too much associate assistance: There also needs to be more areas to unload...I spent most of my time just waiting in line to ask a simple question...the vehicle was hard to find & there wasn't a working map on the site or one posted in the facility I could follow to get to my storage unit. The access hours also end at 7:00 which is inconvenient because I work until 5-6:00pm and that provides no time to unload into a unit. Horrible hours considering there are other storage places that let you access YOUR OWN STORAGE THAT YOU PAY FOR at any time I wish I'd known about before renting a storage unit here. I used to like using this location but other than renting equipment, it's actually become way more inconvenient and still expensive... I don't think I'll be using Uhaul for very long after I close on my home and take my stuff out of storage.

The customer service was good, however, I was supposed to pick up a truck at 9:30 am and received a call about 9:15 am from the Uhaul on Peters St stating there wold not be any trucks availablle until after 1pm. I already had my movers ready to load the truck. I was then told by the representative that I could call the 800 number and to see if someone could locate me atruck at another UHaul location and they cancelled my reservation. I called the 800 number and was on hold for nearly an hour but the representative was very professional and courteous and was able to accomodate my needs.

They told me the truck had half a tank of gas. When I got in it it was barely above empty so I clicked the link in the text they'd sent me to change the contract. Upon clicking it it simply said “link expired” so I couldn't upload a picture of the low gas level. I put 15 bucks in it and brought it back a little below half. I'm waiting to see if I get charged for not bringing it back at half a tank even though it wasn't given to me at half a tank. Also clearly the word “reservation” doesn't mean anything to U haul anymore. I reserved a van weeks ago at a location closer to my apartment, I got a confirmation email and everything. Then the morning of the move I did the online check in and I received a call saying that they didn't have my van and they found one of the other side of the city and would be sending me there. Apparently I don't actually get a van till I pay for it at the location. Which I'm happy to do, but don't promise me a van with your “reservation email” and then not have it when I need it. This has nothing to do with this location this is a tirade against U hauls policy as a whole. Please fix it. I will certainly be looking elsewhere next time I move. Also at this location there was a guy in the parking lot in a construction vest yelling at everyone about parking. He took my key and everything after I dropped the van off. Apparently he doesn't actually work there but his vest and working with the u haul workers implies otherwise. Not sure what the purpose of him being there was but it was confusing and irrational.

The staff at this location is HORRIBLE. Maria in specific needs to be retrained on customer service because she lacks professionalism in the workplace. They legitimately are on their personal phone as they are assisting customers, which shows how much they care for my business. If it wasn't for my pod being sent to this location I would have my storage somewhere else. I got there 30 minutes prior to opening and wasn't able to fully access my unit until quarter till 10 (this location opens at 9) because though I had made an appointment to come the following morning to empty my pod and move my things into storage I still had to wait an additional 10 minutes to get the previous lock taken off. The store opens on the weekend with ONE person and a line backed up with over 10 people waiting. There's employees that spend more time flirting with you then relaying information. I came back the following Day ready to move my things out of the pod into my permanent storage ñ only to find out that the storage unit required a specific lock, one that I did not possess. Thankfully for Abraham and Tony I was able to move my things in to the storage after having numerous incidents that were affecting my entry all which were on the fault of the staff members, miscommunication, and lack of professionalism. Again thank you to TONY and ABRAHAM they were the ONLY TWO there that were genuinely concerned and wanted to assure that I had everything in order.

My unit was destroyed by mice. My belongings were chewed up and covered with mice droppings and urine, and when I talk to the office and put in the complaint I was told I'd be contacted and never heard back from anyone at the company.

Got assaulted by an employee that goes by 'Q' Harassed to the point of fearing for my life, called the police and had to reload my truck and get my money back for the storage unit and leave. The employee grabbed my personal belongings and started taking them off my dolly that I had chosen to use and then took the dolly because he wanted to use the one I had. He got inside my truck, bucking up on me telling me he was going to beat me up 4 against 1 because i was alone and he was with 3 other girls. NEVER WOULD RECOMMEND THAT LOCATION TO A SINGLE SOUL. That manager and employee should be fired.

Fund this place bc it was an inside venue. My vacuum sealed packages had mold, lost half of my belongings to rat pee and poop and my lock looked tampered with and just overall frustrated.

Please ensure that the main access elevator is always working. I experienced one visit where it was not working, and had a terrible time moving my items. This was back at the beginning of December.

Many, many equipment issues with the Elevator system throughout the facility. Access cards don't work, the elevators don't work, the gates don't work. People were nice, but had to bug them to help with equipment issues not their fault. Not worth the hassle. FYI, both incoming and outgoing movers hired, all had past experiences of equal frustration regarding the facility.

Your system seems to be top notch but there are a few glaring problems. I had a lot of questions and it seemed like i was alway on hold in Phoenix for a long time. I tried to get a hitch installed and the hitch did not arrive in time even though I had ordered it 2 weeks in advance. The local usual dealer did not seem aware or concerned that i was renting a trailer the next day. It sometime seemed like the local people on the ground didn't really know what was going on. The system seem to be run from a central location and none of the downstream people were aware of the big picture.

The Building is very old and full of rodents . I had to trash about one half of my belongings. Shared mice drippings and then roaches with Mr. Oday and 2 staff members named Tiffany. Everyone was kind and helpful giving me mice killer and roach spray.

When closing our unit, the staff had locked us out saying our payment was overdue, when in fact our balance was zero as we were on autopay. When we notified office staff, they were apologetic and asked a team member to unlock the unit. No one had the lock for the key that Uhaul placed on our unit, and we sat for two hours outside of our locked storage unit waiting to empty it's contents, until someone finally found the right key. No one accepted responsibility and everyone blamed one another. No sense of urgency to fix the problem that was caused by Uhaul was in place by the employees, and we had to keep coming down every 20 minutes to ask for an update. Only one staff member at the front desk was friendly and actively trying to solve our problem, and apologetic on behalf of the company.

I moved into a unit for no more than a month, a week or two to be exact. I told the person on staff at the moment that I was vacating the unit and called back to reconfirm and that everything was taken care of, that was August 2019. Here we are in 2020 they are send emails, letters and phone calls about a storage until that I left a year ago. Even calling to the property directly and speaking with whoever the acting anything is for the day is, I get no luck. In the past in other cities I have used U-Haul but after dealing with this and not being able to get this matter taken care of, I will no longer patronage a business who communication skills is anything less than professional and accessible.

Though staff eventually answered questions and resolved issues, my overall experience with the customer service here was poor. I was there Friday, Saturday and Sunday - two out of three days my experience was severely lacking or an inconvenience to my move out from my apartment. On Friday the manager was rude and impatient in communication with me. First, he seemed frustrated because he couldn't hear me through my mask, then he got an attitude while gesturing for me to hand him my card, despite the card machine being within my reach. There was simply a better way for a employee to talk to a customer, let alone Black man talk to a Black woman, or human being to a human being. On Saturday morning, there were so many people in line that we were there for an hour which delayed our move. Saturday evening when I arrived to move my stuff in, we had a delay with the elevator and finding our unit because some of the lights were out. We also stumbled upon a leak in the ceiling. When we found it, my units door was broken and there was stuff still inside. The staff member transferred me to another unit which still had a lock on it. She then showed us some other units with issues such as they had roach motels in them or weren't climate controlled. She did inform us ahead of time of the latter. All out of her control but clearly the system needs to be updated with accurate info. We had been up and down the elevators 5 times already with heavy furniture and she informed us that the building was about to shut down and lock us in so we gave up and tried to get a refund. The machine wouldn't not issue the refund despite her attempts. She was nice enough to extend the truck rental. Sunday, the manager did end up canceling our contract and refunding the money which I appreciate but I was already soured on my experiencia. He was slightly more polite on Sunday but again, first impressions are lasting. Won't be doing business here in the future and still waiting for the money to hit my account.

I was calling by the uhaul staff on two occasions telling me my storage unit was open and my lock was missing and it appears to have been broken into and I want my stuff replaced or money for stolen items because I was advised that I had rental insurance and upon my move out it was never applied to my account and that's your staff problem. I'm a loyal patrion with uhaul over 40 years of rental history with you. Please contact the store and they can verify everything I have told you. Both of my storage spaces were riddled with rat droppings. Even after I spoke to them about it, there was no changes and up until the time that I cleaned it, it remained with rat drippings. Worst of all, when I cleaned it out, there was a dead rat in my storage that had decomposed and maggets were everywhere. In fact, I had to throw out some of my clothing as a result of it.

I wish it was explained on the website that my unit was going to be above a level but not on the second floor which made it difficult to move some items and I would have changed my unit given the option. The place was somewhat dirty and the bathroom was disgusting and reeked of cigarettes while the outside of the building smelled strongly of weed. the inside of the locker had mold or something on the floor of it and there were glue and poison traps for rodents which does not make me feel good about keeping valuables there.

I was very disappointed in how many people helped. It was a very stressful time having to move out and this made it even more stressful. I know many people that did not get in on time from having to hours just to get served. Many people could not have anticipated to wait hours just to get their storage registration done. Also the lines could have been more organized depending upon what people needed to get done considering all the rush for college students. Ex - line for only purchases , line for car rentals and line for storage units.

Self entitled Mgr and customer service representative. I asked for a floor-level access storage, paid for it and when I was walked to my unit, I realize it's the wrong one. No issue I say to myself since we all make mistakes but when I returned to counter there was no apology from CSR or Mgr. I was put in a unit that had a pillar in it and that took away at least 1 sq foot of space in a 5x5 when there was one totally empty in front It. I very calmly and matter-of-factly explained the dilemma and requested the change for 2nd time in a row. The manger most of clearly knew that unit because he made no fuss but didn't apologize either. The attitude was surprisingly arrogant and self entitled. As a home owner of a loft next door I was excited about supporting a neighbor business but I can't and won't recommend our local uhaul and will make that know in our HOA and Nextdoor platform. A simple sorry and thank you goes a long way. Uhaul falls short.

Representative said I didn't have reservation, I informed her that I was there for storage and not a truck rental. She did not inform me that I had to swipe my card in the office in order for access.

The workers there are very unprofessional! And I was going to get a storage on the 4th floor but overheard another customer complaining the elevator won't go pass the 3rd floor.

We stored our items for two weeks as we transitioned to a new location. When we came to pick up our items they were covered in roaches. The staff was very responsive and we did get a refund.

The staff at this location was amazing..there was a young lady there whom was pregant and she still went above and beyond for my needs..I would rent here before anywhere else in the ciy !

I can't speak to the facility itself, as I was never there. The U-Boxes were delivered to our new apartment. But I was generally very satisfied. Both the operator and the driver did fantastic jobs.

The facility was poorly run, with a lot of confusion and workers with POOR customer service who were seemingly more interested in their personal conversations than helping the line of customers.

I would have given this facility an excellent rating but one person was rude and not knowledgeable on the phone. I called back and spoke to a manger and everything met or exceeded expectations.

Unfortunately, the utility dolly fell out of the truck that I rented. A neighbor recovered the utility dolly, and returned it to the maintenance man. On 0/6/18/2018, I got it back! I was charged 120 $.

The counter was understaffed on several occasions. Staff was fine with a couple of exceptions. Security system malfunctioned which nobody was able to fix or explain
