Dashawn at the facility was so helpful - he helped me lift my furniture when it fell off the cart, he got me a lock because one was missing from my unit. He really made the experience top-notch!!

Service was really incredible. The woman who helped me out was friendly, efficient, and helpful. Overall the van was in pretty good condition - someone had definitely cleaned it, but it still stank of cigarette smoke from a previous renter. I know smoke is hard to get out, so I don't think it's the employees' fault or that they could have done much to fix it except let the van air out more before re-renting it.

Before customer takes the vehicle attendants could ask customers if they know how to start a push button ingnition by putting foot on brake. Some people like me had not driven vehicle with push button ignition before. Still, very good service by both attendants

Had damage to some of my items from mice. And there was a lot of mice poop on things too. They chewed through and had holes. Also the many items had strong odor. Mayhe moth balls. But visits and amount of security was good. Staff was always helpful.

I moved out and got charged for three weeks and got charged for the return uhaul truck when I just want filled the gas tank. But everyone was clean spacious to hold my property and the staff was awesome

This was a horrific experience renting at this location. The rental agent was rude, threatened to cancel the reservation, and was working alone. There was no manager available to deal with the situation, or the rudeness of the agent. Though I was able to rent the trailer at this location, the rental agent threatened I would be placed on a "do-not-rent" list and never able to rent from U-Haul again! Do yourself a huge favor and avoid renting from the Menands location. Drive down the freeway to the Downtown Albany location (near the USS Slater) where there are more employees, a manager that is helpful, and you are not treated like trash.

First I was given a vehicle that was due for maintenance, then fuel level was marked as 7/8 where as the vehicle showed 3/4 and when I asked them to change it in the contract they did not. When I returned the vehicle with over 3/4th in gas, they marked it as 5/8 and charged me for fuel between 7/8 and 5/8 which is totally unacceptable.

There is a rodent infestation. I noticed rodent feces in my storage unit hallway, noticed feces in my unit as I closed it out, seen rats scurry throughout the hallways into different people storage units. Also witnessed countless dead rodents within the facility. Very dusty in my storage unit despite me cleaning it up. Overall needs better cleaning maintenance and a rodent control with chemicals or get a proper pest control worker to neutralize the warehouse.

The guy there was lovely and kind. Easy pick up process. The location is much better than the other one on Broadway. I feel much safer leaving my car there while I rented the truck for an hour.

I understand that staffing is an issue but at night when there's just one worker there it can be pretty hard and tough on that person so maybe just look into maybe adding extra pay for people that's there by their self because they are doing a great job there and maybe higher pay for oncoming people that want to work for you all that will be appreciative

There should be 2 people in the store when the one that's on is a new employee. The girl that helped was new. When she hooked up the trl asked her why it was so low, the chains would drag and the electrical wires would drag. She said it was fine. After the trl was partially loaded it was even lower. A friend said it wasn't safe, so we brought it to another UHaul dealer. They turned the coupler so it was higher and kept the 2" ball. When we drove and stopped or started we could hear the trl move on the ball. I believe the ball should have been larger. I am very unhappy with U-Haul and think this could have ended very badly. Fortunately it didn't.

The room was filled with mice feces, (we have photos). We had to throw a lot of belongings out due to it. It was very disgusting. I let the staff know over the phone and I was told to make a manager aware and we possible wouldn't be charged to discard the stuff in U-Haul's dumpster; usual it is $10.00.

Only issue I had was when unloading my property to my rental unit..There were workers that had parked their vehicles in customer space and also one one workers had a dof with them..therefore I was not unable to unload due to.no fault of mine..I would been charged for an extra day.. The representative was excellent. Courteous, professional, and handled the transaction quickly and efficiently. The only negative, which was handled immediately, was as I was leaving, the representative stopped me to give me the dozen blankets that were a part of my order. I wanted to put them in the trailer, and when we opened the door, there was wrapping material and shipping trash left inside. It was quickly removed, but I would have really been upset if I had gotten home and found out. Again the representative was excellent and took care of it immediately. I think a process should be in place to check the equipment before it goes out to avoid any problems in the future.

Not very happy or satisfied with the service I received at this facility at all.... I was locked out of my storage room on Sunday 8/25 when I already made my payment and was all caught up, then Tuesday 8/27 I returned to the unit and was finally let in I seen the worse thing no customer would ever want to see and rats were nesting in "MY THINGS!!!..." This was the worst experience EVER AND I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO THIS STORAGE EVER!!!! I took pictures and will definitely be posting them along with my experience to let everyone know now to rent from y'all because y'all have rodent problems and it doesn't even end there after taking my stuff home there were rats in my belongings and I have about to mice in my freaking apartment .... I am so disappointed with this location and what I have to go through on top of that I had to leave some of my kids things behind because it had rat feces all over them so now my kids lost some of their toys and gained a nasty rat in their home..... The only good thing about this location was Flor the sales rep who helped me out so very much by checking on me constantly after I told her what was going on but besides that I would never recommend anyone to this "NASTY" location "EVER...."

My only complaint is the rodents

I would recommend it to somebody if they were just going to put their items in there and if they had help doing it. just leaving it there until they were going to move it somewhere else like into a home or something. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. They would have to find out what place is better for them in regards to pricing can the pace places it very well air conditioned. And if you're moving items from one place to the other always recommend a truck and not a van.

My rating has nothing to do with the Staff they are amazing friendly and great! The Manager Angelina is amazing and kind. I just experienced something which I am sure does not happen often. But I am grateful that I was able to store and keep my things in the unit while I was in transition. They worked with me and they were patient!

The ghetto of some of the workers is unacceptable. I got the wrong size unit I need a larger one and that's not easy to fix. Also KFC across the street poor. Also you're very busy at times and we can't get in to talk to you in person. The place is very redneck meaning it's really for truckers and it was actually originally delivery building where truckers would drop off whatever they have. I wouldn't say it's very consumer friendly it's a humongous building. I have to try and make an appointment to change my unit size which is extremely little compared to what I have to bring. Vans high powered too high-powered and I can understand a truck being that powerful but those vans are powerful altho fuel efficient enough. I did not end up liking to drive the uhaul. It wasn't easy to put items in and take items out of the van altho cheaper than a uhaul moving truck an no dumpsters.building overly warm. Good recycling if a building.

I don't like to be rude but my storage 1677 had thousands of mouse feces they chewed up most of my stuff dead mouses was in it and it smelled like a zoo mouse's is running around inside all my clothes everything have mouse feces all in it

The door to the storage unit unit got stuck in it took over 20 minutes trying to figure out how to close it. The latch was also hard, and it seemed like it was broke, and it was hard for me to put the lock on.

The hours are good and I liked being able to swipe my card when entering and exiting however the facility could be a little cleaner. It is very dust if you store your things inside and rodents may pee or poop on your stuff. The staff are friendly and helpful so that's a plus. And the place should definitely have a dumpster on the property. I had to take my broken/soiled items and broken boxes with me and find a local dumpster to get rid of my unwanted property.

They have a SERIOUS AND NASTY bug and mice ( maybe even rat) problem. All my things got damaged because of pee and poop and I have pictures to prove it. It was absolutely disgusting and it looked like my unit was their hub when I also didn't have any food in my unit. Staff was so help at all and I was paying my monthly unit to basically have my stuff slept, peed, pooped, and eaten my nasty bugs, mice & rats. The staff always had an attitude with any issue or concern I brought to them or even if I didn't have an issue or concern.
