Grateful for the excellent customer service and care rendered to me by Brandon, and Dominique. Although, there were computer software issues, a constant flow of customers coming in and out (many with combative personalities), they remained professional, and went out of their way to ensure that all my needs were met efficiently. I was very happy with the UHaul and the people that helped me this past week. The employees were very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. However, I was NOT HAPPY with UHaul because a month ago I paid to have a trailer hitch (and necessary equipment) installed on my son's car so we could tow a U-Box and/or trailer this past week, only to find out that I had to rent a UHaul Truck and pay extra costs and fees associated therewith, and incur unnecessary stress/anxiety because the break light wiring was not installed with the hitch on my son's car. At the time we had the hitch installed, we were led to believe that we should have the lighting installed at that time we plan to tow, not at the time the hitch was installed. WE WERE GIVEN BAD ADVICE! When we went to tow, we learned that we couldn't use our own car because we didn't have the proper wiring for break lights and the wiring couldn't be installed at that time. Now I have to arrange to have the lighting installed in about 7 weeks, from across country (I am in CA and the car is in PA), because I want to tow with my own car the U-Box presently in storage in Philly. UHAUL made a mistake and I am paying the price which is very frustrating!

I would like to let you know that I only used this location after originally booking a truck for Sunday 5/15/22 at the self storage at 1831 W Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19132. The 1831 location was horrible, and made me want to never use Uhaul again after that experience. We had a reservation and confirmation and upon arrival to receive the truck, I called the office to get into the property to receive the key and was screamed at by the employee that "HE HAD NO TRUCKS GOING OUT TODAY" while I stood on the phone trying to explain that I had a confirmation. My girlfriend then called to explain as well, as she had made the booking and he screamed the same things at her, and hung up. This is absolutely unacceptable. There is no reason that Uhaul should work with a location and staff like that. I do want someone to contact me, as that is extremely unacceptable. The staff at 2801 W Hunting Park Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19129 salvaged a terrible experience. Sincerely, Aaron Snyder

I was appalled at how unprofessional the workers were at the front desk. Scrolling on their phones showing each other photos of men as a line formed. They contributed to carry on their conversation as we waited to be served. Once they finished their personal conversation and looking at their phones the service was still extremely show and unorganized. The two working at the front desk were rude and unfriendly. I will never return to this location nor will I recommend this location to anyone in need of u haul services.

Vehicle was dirty both inside and out. Change oil message was on. Person checking vehicles in said he was too busy to help me so the counter helped me. She didn't go look at vehicle but tried to charge me $65 for gas even though the rental itself was only $54. She finally took the charge off after I went and took pictures of the gas and milage. I will never be using this location again if I use U-Haul again period which I probably will not.

There was 2 extra boxes that was on my account that I did not order. Then I kept getting calls about payment needs to be made. The total calls were five and each in ever time I explain to the representative that it's a mistake on my account. They would say I would take care of it. Just so the next time it would.happen again. Guess what it happen a total of five times. I would not recommend no one to this company

Nothing. The services i received was excellent. I had reserved a truck for 11:00am on Friday, April 22 i had to change my time from 11:00 am to 8:30am. I called u-haul and explained my situation and was told not to worry because u-haul had a truck. They was very professional, polite and understanding. Thank you for helping me. U-haul is number one.

Truck was not ready, I had to wait 15 minutes for them to bring it out. None of my materials that I ordered were ready and had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes for them to find them. Then I was told they didn't have one of the dollies I ordered. It's ridiculous that I ordered all this days ahead of time and selected the mobile check in option so that everything would be ready, and none of it was.

Need to ensure there are enough Carts available especially during Saturday and Sunday. When I moved in on a Saturday it was only 1 cart and we had to wait for a 2nd one. One reason I moved out on a weekday was because the lack of carts and access space for a moving truck to back in

Staff members need to tell us where to leave the keys after hours, and walk to the van with us to verify milage & gas he did not come to the van and wrote the gas was 1/2 full and it WAS NOT it was bout a quarter from half. Everything else was good.

Almost everything g was fine with my rental there. The only issue I had was they assigned me a unit that had a large column in it. Thankfully, I was able to work around it. But it was very hard to do. Something like that should have been communicated in the beginning.

It was a pleasure to have been able to use this Uhaul storage facility. The Manager and employees went far and beyond to welcome my first time experience at Uhaul. If I were to have to use a storage facility again it will be at this location. I feel if Uhaul can upgrade all there building to walk in and drive inside their storage for convenience to their customers. I want to thank you all at this location for the experience. Exspecially! I couldn't get into my unit kn the weekends unless it was before the office open just to get a cart to use. Sometimes on the weekends the ramp would be blocked therefore I couldn't get in. I was charged extra fees when I asked my card to be automatically charged. I could NEVER get a hold of anyone in the office to talk about my issues however the customer service agents whenever the calls get set to was very rude and telling me how they can't help me. So I got charged additional fees because someone didn't do their job correctly.

My brother has. Unit here that I was trying to take care of do to him recently passing. This U-Haul isn't making that easy on me, by law they're right though. But, Brandon the manager at Allegheny office is very disrespectful. A young man at this site took care of my needs, then I spoke with Brandon and he changed everything back which was fine up until I left the facility and came back for my money and to return the key. Brandon didn't have a problem with me returning that key, he had a problem with me wanting a refund. He told me that I would have to pay a late fee if I got the refund and I wanted to know why since my brother has died and they won't let me with his death certificate and my ID since I was the Emergency contact on his storage take his things. Mr. Brandon gave me the refund and while that went on, he went on to tell me that he would auction off his things if I didn't come back and told me to get out. Now, I check my email to find a late fee notice from Mr. Brandon. I will be calling the corporate office. This was a very unprofessional experience...

I was suppose to pay 1442$ - but I was asked to pay 9,44$ extra - without which my u-box would not be released. This is extortion - I was given a quote and should be honored - if its above the quote, an agreement should have been reached with me along with my approval for the charge. Nothing as such happened and my u-box was held hostage for payment of the amount!

My first experience of this location wasn't good, I was charged twice and the truck wasn't handed to me and the gas wasn't as it supposed to be but then I called Uhaul customer service and they refunded me my money. After 6 months, I still used the same location and had a great experience, the U haul representative checked the truck and brought it to me, she made sure I won't get overcharged and she was very friendly and professional. The new process is perfect, you can check photos of the truck and verify gas gauge and everything before taking off.

Everything at your location was fine. My concern was with the person that took my reservation. She was very nice and very helpful, however, the truck recommendation size, as well as the unit size were not sufficient for what I needed. I had to upgrade my storage unit and I had to make 2 trips instead of one.

I would also not recommend uhall to friends because when I tired to turn in my van the app wouldn't allow me to take pictures on the app. I had to use a friends iphone to return the truck. That took a solid 30min to do or more. If I have to use uhall again im going to the front end rather then use the app.

Need to check on people driving and parking in the facility who are not authorized customers.. There were quite a few non customers who park inside and sit to meet other non customers. This does not feel safe.

The service I received at the University location on Chestnut was horrible. The young lady that was at the counter was rude, unprofessional, aggressive, and threatening in her tone. I would not recommend this location to anyone I know and this individual should not be handling guests at all!

Please do not book with U-Haul. Especially if you're moving across states. After 30 years I decided to move from pholly to Atlanta and put my trust in U-Haul. Only for my container not to show up and no one has an answer for me. There's no communication from U-Haul at all in reference to my container and it's delay. Im currently on day 6 of no container. But U-Haul charged me the full amount yet my container is not here and it's past my contract date. Please please please DO NOT BOOK WITH UHAUL.

I rented a truck first and I was given keys to a truck that was not available. I rented a storage unit in which I found belonged to someone else after getting a bed and dresser up there. Then someone comes up there with a list and only one on the list was available, and that one had a large pole with a base to it in the unit. This particular unit was supposed to be a 10/10 which the pole took up 1/3 of the unit. I ended up finding my own unit that needed to be swept. Uuugghhh after all that I was exhausted and frustrated

The drop box for the key was not lableld. It was not in front of the store. It was around the side in an unlit corner. This is a bad neighborhood. If you want people to return the keys, make it easy and safe for them. I walked around in the dark for fifteen minutes in the rain to find the stupid box.

Checking in with Brandon was good. But checking out with Aleyah or Ayana (whatever her name was) was terrible. She had an attitude from the moment my friend and I walked up and during our truck rental and my storage close out. I work with the public as well as a supervisor and I wouldn't have her working for me. Very rude.

Honestly, this is the worst U-haul experience I've ever had. I moved all of my stuff out of storage there because recently they couldn't figure out what unit I rented. Each time I rented a truck and dolly, I did not get a dolly. Typically, I like U-haul. That's why I stored my stuff there originally. But it's been a really miserable experience, and I won't be going back anytime soon.

I chose this location because I always get good customer service and they have the equipment that I need. However there were 2 minor issues with this rental and one of the issues could have been bigger. The first issue was that the employee who connected the trailer hooked it on improperly. The trailer came off of my hitch ball less than a mile from the UHaul location on a heavily trafficked street with no shoulder. Luckily the safety chains worked and the trailer stayed with my vehicle. However, the trailer did strike the rear of my vehicle. This put me in a dangerous position when I had to reattach the trailer in the middle of a lane on a busy street. I was able to reattach the trailer correctly and it didn't appear to damage my vehicle. The other minor issue is that there were some moving supplies that were left in the trailer from the previous renter. That wasn't a big deal though as I still had enough room in the trailer for what I needed. Other than those issues it was a great experience.

The unit was marked ready and when he opened it the unit was not cleaned out. Then we went to another one and the same thing happened. The biggest inconvenience was not being able to bring the truck into the storage area as they close the gate before the office closes. It was very inconvenient. Also I'm really not sure that the unit that my stuff is in matches the paperwork. Even at the final destination he still had to swap me out. Something is clearly not working well. The people were great and helpful.

I had the worst experience ever. First the representative that helped me out was the only person at the from counter when I arrived. I waited roughly 45 minutes to be assisted. Then they did not have the truck I reserved, they said it had a flat and could not be rented out. I had to take a smaller truck I I ended up making an extra trip. The inside of the truck was disgusting, most of my items were ruined by the truck. The truck smelled like cigarettes and there were ashes everywhere. There was dirt and grime everywhere.

If I had any complaint it would be the equipment to things to my unit isn't easy to get. I find I spend more time looking for a dolly, and the right kind/type than it takes me to get my things to my unit. Additionally, the Key Card is not working properly l, I standing inside the elevator, wondering when it will move, and have to come out and swipe my card again and again...that's woresome as heck. I have spoke to the young lady at the front desk about my issues...I'm told I just have to be patient and come to them as my problems occur. They have gotten me a dolly, but it's not timely at all...and the Key card issue doesn't seem to be an issue for anyone but me...smh

Brandon is the best. He was very understanding and accomodating to my situation. Because of that, the Allegheny facility and vehicles are my first choice for storage and business in Philadelphia. The staff were also pleasant and helpful. I like that there is inside parking. I felt safe going to facility by myself. Con: slow elevators, but clean. I also wish that there was some memorium about the building in the building, since it was an iconic site in Philadelphia ( the old TastyKake Bakery). It would give me something to read while Im waiting in the lobby. Otherwise, it felt like my second home for 2 years.

Great secured facility. Very friendly staff. The only complaint I might have is the lack of more dolley and carts. I do understand that some people are more egoistic and selfish and that the staff do their best. I would recommend this place to my friends.

They signed me into a storage unit with a building support pole right in the middle of it, I told them about it and they found me a proper storage immediately they were very helpful and respectful. I have no complaints at this time.

I just got my storage unit yesterday, no one told me that after hours the sliding door doesn't work! That was very inconvenient especially that multiple people were using the one door. Elevator access was horrible, it took multiple times scanning my card for the elevator to actually do anything. My wife was stuck for 15min at one point as someone called it up to 5th floor and she was not able to get back down. There was a shortage of carts!!!! And I was told by someone there were a bunch on 5th floor but I couldn't get up there so that was useless. I tried asking the supervisor/manager before she left for the day to get more carts but she was not helpful at all! This was a horrible experience and if I had the option to pack up and leave I would!

When my friend moved in things were smooth. That's what attracted me to choose this site. But when getting my unit. It took a lot time locate a 10x10x9. First was still filled with some else stuff and locked. Second unit had volume in the middle not suitable since paying that space I can't use. Third was two 5x10 one had a column kinda goes back to the second unit ( I needed every inch of space. Finally found two usable units a few feet from each other. I will say that the staffing maintain a professional disposition throughout time. So I'm staying than you. I just lost a lot of time.

The building is not clean whatsoever. Floors and units are covered in dust and dirt. I had a small 5x8 unit and had 10 % off the space taken up by a structural beam. The floors in the entire building aren't level and are made of uneven bricks/tile which makes rolling the dollies difficult. They were testing the fire alarm while I was moving out and it disabled the elevators. Not a huge deal but frustrating when I only rented a truck for a few hours.

The GM (Brandon)was very rude. He told us "I'm out & im done talking to y'all" and hung up… we could not get in our unit due to staff giving us the wrong unit number. We had to look at a picture we took to see that the staff gave us the wrong unit number. We also had our stuff stuck on the elevator because the system shut down which is ridiculous.

Compared to other storage places I have used, there is nothing to be improved upon. I only voiced my facility improvement suggestions (fixing the check-in check-out card reader system, and adding a walkway outside of the building between the dock and customer service sides of the building) in my prior review because U-haul seems to be of a high enough caliber that they could actually act on them without suffering some great loss in profit. Adding the walkway might actually save thousands or tens of thousands in future claims. Outside of those minor suggestions pertaining to the facility, great experience. Very competitively priced storage, great customer service at that location, and the convenient on site availability the moving vehicles and equipment one tends to think of when you hear or see U-Haul.

They were completely unorganized and told me I could switch my unit at no cost then called me the next day saying I need to pay extra. I couldn't believe it. I had asked two employees before I moved my stuff in and both said it was fine. The employees names was John and Aaliyah that said there would be no extra charge for changing rooms because someone locked me out of one of my original units

The staff cost me money because they gave me a storage unit with a lock  twise .I had a crew that was getting paid by the hour and all that back and forth to get a storage unit was time consuming. I got a unit with a pole or been structure that took away from the square feet that I paid for but I didn't get so I'm supposed to get one month free but I still wasn't discounted the difference of the lack of square feet of what I paid for.

Facility is constructed in a ways where it is difficult to get stuff in and out of storage. That's obvious. Not enough workers there so people are always standing in line. Constantly getting calls from UHaul about billing but I have not received one bill from them so it feels like they are deliberately increasing debt payments to screw you. The GM Brandon was pretty helpful but everyone else is pretty useless.

I moved out in April which is documented. I called U-Haul so many times after that because I kept reviving emails after I moved out. On the day I moved out I discussed that with the staff at this location in April, he tried to convince me to stay but the rent was too high and I have a cheaper storage unit somewhere else for my business. Some how they ignored that and still tried to continue to charge me after moving out. They are aware that that there is nothing in the unit or a lock on the unit since April. They're f*cking crooks and the manager Donovan looks like a stoner thats why he couldn't read all the emails that customer service sent him about me moving out the unit along with his staffs notes.

My customer service representative was superb. Her customer service skills are impeccable!!! Kind, helpful, caring, accommodating, and more. If I owned any business, she would be my top manager. She needs a promotion! Not sure of her name, but she was young, 20's, black woman, about 5'5 and thin. Give her an Award and promotion. We need more like her in the customer service realm of businesses.

The only thing that I did not like is My online price for my unit was $49,99 plus tax for a 5×5. They did not honor it. I was charged $54,99 plus text. I was told that they didn't know why the website does that. Then I was told the $54,99 was the tax but my monthly fee on my contract is $59 that's a lot of tax. As soon as I am able I will be moving my things to the original company I had a reservation. I changed changed it because of the Uhaul price I got online and it was easier to unload my Ubox. I only stayed because of 1 free month. I sent an email about my concerns and I haven't gotten a response.

I usually use uhaul on Allegheny Ave and loved everything as soon I I used Allegheny west I had problems over and over and when I came to clean out my storage they had a lock on it that wasn't supposed to be there. The girl apologize to me and I cleaned out the storage turned in the key and lock and the next month I get a bill saying I'm late and i owe all these late fees when I closed my account the month before. I will never use them again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else do

Aljon was a very friendly and pleasant young man who assisted me on Sunday, May 9, 2021 (Mothers Day). He went over and beyond to make certain I found the storage unit and did it with a smile. But this is not my first visit to this site. I currently and began using this facility to store my son's items. I have found all the employees who have assisted me to be very friendly, helpful, and conduct themselves very professionally even under very busy and stressful situations. Unfortunately, I wish that while I am filling out this comment form that I could reach Brian Phillips the Field Manager of the Philadelphia Area, and make a comment about the U-Haul Facility on 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage. I am very disappointed with the way business is handled over there; very sketchy with handling their affairs of over-charging, and the building storage definitely needs a total overhaul of a makeover. The floors are so flimsy that it makes you feel like you might fall through them the moment you step on the floors. I have had a couple of bad experiences with them and I feel that it isn't a good reputation of what U-Haul represents. This is the second time I had to escalate an issue to Mr. Phillips and he had to authorize a refund for this place trying to rip me off. First, the storage on January 9, 2021, and then because there wasn't an available van for moving at 2801 Hunting Park the customer service told me the closest was 4663 Stenton. I figured that my first experience in January was enough, but to just pick up a van couldn't be too bad...but oh, it was. When I returned the van, children were at the front desk playing to the computer and handling my business and the manager who took care of me in the first place was nowhere to be found and the children have the phone to contact him as if they were a liaison to doing business with me. Only to find out the next day I was overcharged for my mileage and the original order that I put in online to save time was canceled and the manager created a new one when there was no need to. I had come in with the paperwork and confirmation that was filed online. Again I say, sketchy and not upfront honesty is delivered at this site. So my experience with 4663 Stenton Avenue/Ming Storage - first time "Shame on them" and they made me a believer the second time to "not do business with them "EVER". So traveling a little more distance to 2801 Hunting Park is worth my time and money, for sure. I do hope that Brian Phillips gets to read this comment that I took time to fill out. Merci.

While the staff tried their best to assist me, I got stuck in the elevator because the swipe access times out before the elevator comes and opens. The staff was unable to figure out why. Checkout took much longer than it should have given that I had made a reservation online.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. However, when I contacted the General Manager, Brandon Donovan he was EXTREMELY rude and disrespectful. The store experienced a flood and I didn't know the facility was still open. I contacted the 1800 number and then the manager specifically for this information after I had not heard back two days later. I explained that the streets surrounding were blocked off and he called me a liar. I told him "instead of calling me a liar why not explain to me how to get there." When I began naming the entry points that were all blocked off, he said he refused to help me and he hung up the phone unnecessarily. I had to contact his supervisor for an answer to a very simple question. On move out day, one of the seats in the truck ripped my pants, I spoke to a staff member who was extremely helpful and gave me the number to file a claim. The staff member said I could speak to the GM about it but I didn't even feel comfortable doing so after our first encounter. This certainly changed the way I look at Uhaul and I highly doubt that I'll be using them anytime soon.

Our reserved unit was opened to find someone's belongings in it. We had to get a larger unit since there none left of the size we reserved. This was happening while I had hired help there to unload my truck into the unit. I have called the general manager's cell phone twice to request a temporary reduced rate for the unit we took to make it comparable to the unit I had reserved. He has not returned my call. The staff at the desk were friendly, but had to handle many customers and were not able to address my request. The facility itself is nice and clean. Eventually, I hope I can provide a stronger endorsement.

I went through three changes trying to get assigned to a unit. I was assigned then reassigned then assigned again. Then I was called 2 Days Later to reassign again and I was told to come in and told to move my stuff to another unit upon which I refuse to move everything because I felt it was the responsibility of whoever was managing to move it for me because they were not assigning effectively it was not my responsibility to come to move. This was a harrowing experience.

The person helping me had no idea what he was doing. He cost me an extra $100 trying to figure out what to do instead of asking for help. My movers charge. $124 an hour. It was horrible.

It was great right up until the end. I wanted to rent a truck to move out my things. Although my driver's license was renewed and unexpired, due to Covid I only had the paper license showing the renewal and 2024 expiration date. PA allows the paper to be carried with the old photo license to show proof of id. This, however, was not accepted by the manager to rent a truck and he offered no other solution to rent a truck. Despite paying $200/month to Uhaul via auto pay for more than 2 years, I could not rent a truck from UHaul to move my property. Uhaul's shortsightened response to my situation forced me to make other arrangements to move my property.

I was contacted a couple weeks after moving my belongings In that there wasn't a lock on my unit. After a brief conversation I told her that the number on the contract wasn't the number she was suggesting was mine. Every week after they would call me and say the same thing and I would keep explaining to them I have the contract right in front of me.

This was my first time there no one escorted me or show me how to work anything upstairs they showed me about the cards when you get in the building on the elevator all that no one came to the storage unit per say I couldn't get in the storage unit then she gave me another unit on another floor I couldn't get up to the floor cuz you never gave me your number card it was a whole message depressed me and I had to stay there for almost 3 hours with someone for it to come to y'all is it y'all policy to show them what they getting out of work it Etc

The office hours are convenient but there was not nearly enough staff to run the busy days like Saturdays. Although I had rented a 6th floor unit online, there were none available when I got there. The manager gave me a unit # for a 6th floor unit, but when I came back with the movers a few hours later, that unit had a lock on it. The office was extremely busy and it was difficult to get attention to the issue that I had no place to move in. William was able to find an open unit on the 5th floor and helped the movers get access to both the 6th and 5th floors since now they needed to bring full carts from the 6th floor to the 5th floor. With the busy office, the moving of floors and the overall confusion about the unit I ended up using and paying the movers for at least another hour. Additionally, that morning when I picked up the 15' truck the manager had told my to avoid the waterlogged bay and drive through the garage door. However, when I tried to do that the clearance of the 15' truck was too high. The manager who rented me the truck should have known that.

I moved from NYC to philly so I emptied my storage unit in NYC and wanted to transfer my stuff to this facility. After making my reservation online- I called the facility to discuss office and access hours given I would be arriving in Philadelphia later in the evening- the person who answered the phone hung up on me 3 times mid conversation. She also did not offer me to try to set up 24 hour access by paying $10 extra and told me "don't show up here before 9." I thought that was unprofessional. When I got to the facility at 9am I had to wait 2 hours in line prior to getting my storage unit. Very disappointing. I had to return the U-Haul Trailer I had rented and due to the wait my time went over and I had to pay another days worth of rental costs. Overall I thought the communication was poor and customer service lacked professionalism. Although the young lady that helped me at the counter when my turn finally came was very nice.

Brandon and his staff were truly accommodating and made my experience of renting a truck and storage facility a good one. They explained all the charges, there were no surprises. Everything went well during the time I utilized the storage facility. The only issue was upon my arrival to my destination with the items I kept in storage I noticed dead roaches and live roaches on my belongings. This was disturbing as I had to get my new place sprayed before I could continue.

The facility itself was ok with the exception of the fact that we were never told that there would be a huge pillar that occupied a large majority of our space. Also when we tried to cancel when we called the gentleman left us on hold for 40 minutes. Then when I called back he said he would look at our storage and make sure it was cleaned and call back in five minutes. He never did he also said we'd get a full refund bc it was the day we cancelled was the day we were charged and I never heard back from him I had to call my bank to figure the charge and ensure the cancellation. I had 2 U-boxes and 1 Storage Unit at U-Haul of Allegheny West. My experience with everyone at this facility was extremely pleasant. All were accommodating, very helpful and friendly. I was particularly impressed with how the office personnel managed a busy time, efficiently handling each customer's needs in a positive, competent manner. If they did not know the answer to a question, they were happy to do the necessary work to find out. Very good service, friendly workers. The place is clean and organized. The only thing I would change is the price for the smallest storage unit. Otherwise, it's a well maintained placed.

The unit was great and kept my belongings safe and dry. I met 2 employees that were wonderful (can't remember their names, but wish I could). Everyone else seemed lazy and completely uncaring.

Had to call 4 times to refuse a charge based on a vacant unit I had cancelled, this unit was then rented out to someone else and I was charged for it, this is fraud and theft, staff was very rude

This storage place is spacious, clean, professional and helpful.. The prices are good but insurance is high. $55 for smallest unit to $71 after insurance is high. I hope the insurance rates go down.
