When I used to work with Brandon here it was a great experience. I haven't been to this location in a few months, or maybe a year or so, but when I was there yesterday it wasn't very nice. When I was returning my truck there were 3 people behind the desk. They ignored me for a while when I got in, and then when one of them acknowledged me it felt like my presence was just an annoyance to her. I tried to be nice and she was just like, acting bothered the whole time or something. I wanted to make sure everything was OK with my drop-off before leaving. I went outside to where I left the truck, then was told to go inside, then was told to go outside, then was told to go back inside. Very surprising experience here considering that it used to be really nice at this location with Brandon and whoever was working in the back accepting the truck returns.Nathan S.

Brandon was extremely helpful. The location is tight to get into with a 26' + full car carrier. I booked a 20' box truck to be picked up at a closer location to me, however the location did not have the equipment or actual u-haul personnel to help direct me to a new location. When I finally spoke with someone from u-haul they sent me a another location to pick up a larger truck because my reservation was not available anywhere. This increased my driving stress, and gave me a worse MPG for my move. Everyone I spoke to in person was extremely helpful, and everyone I spoke to on the phone wasn't helpful at all. This experience dropped u-haul down a few pegs in my book. All equipment provided was in excellent condition and made the drive great, just didn't have good customer service.Ben S.

In the early morning there were only two women working the counter and it seems as though early morning on a Saturday was a busy time. The young women that checked me in had to do the check in process, plus gather my added on items (dollys, bag up 12 cover blankets) and bring the truck around to me by herself. It seems that the staff could use additional morning help, because by the time I came to return the truck (approximately 1:30pm) there was like 5 or 6 staff members at the counter. My experience was great, because I only had 1 person in front of me, but I would have been frustrated if I had to wait, and I'm sure your tan members would probably appreciate the help.Christina B.

My key card wasn't working, I was first given a 10x10 unit with a big pile taking up space but charged full price, there was no flat beds to move items, I got stuck on elevator with my son. A homeless man was inside on 5th floor, starting harassing me and my 14 year old son. Worst experience I have ever experienced. Brandon has horrible customer service and does not maintain the facility. I can't tell you how many times I went to the location and at least one of the lift gates if not both were broken. Went on site to access my unit on a Sunday after office was closed to find a lock that wasn't mine on the unit despite being paid in full for all of my time there. From the very beginning the storage units at Allegheny west were a nightmare. I moved to Philadelphia unknowing the limited amount of space across the city, which led to needing a storage unit for my things that could not fit into my apartment. Upon arrival at day 1, the parking lot was full of incoming movers but the staff was not properly numbered or readily available. One staff member, a black male about 40 years of age, helped myself and my dad unload my things. Since then he'd always been great if he was working while I was at the unit. Other than that, the staff was rude, slow, and not helpful. I had to return to grab miscellaneous items from time to time, so I was there frequently. In early 2022, the staff members called me warning me of a flood in my units. I arrived at the storage to check it out but it wasn't daunting. Each time I came back, however, there was more and more water in the unit until there was a mass flood. It ruined several expensive items, but I've filed a claim and will file an additional one. The staff never offered to move my things into an opened unit although they've been aware of the flooding all year. This hassle has caused my family valuables that money cannot replace. It has also yielded distress and anxiety which I am prone to. Overall I had a terrible experience renting a storage unit here. Hopefully I am refunded for a few months worth as well as receive money from my insurance claims. This has made me not want to use U-Haul ever again.Trey W. | Expérience générale

When I got to my storage unit there was somebody else's belongings in there and since I had to remove it I wasn't able to fully move my belongings in since the elevator stopped working and when I called the after hours GM since I saw something about extending hours he was very unprofessional sounded like he was at a party and when I tried asking him questions only thing I could hear is a bunch of people yelling and cursing in the background this had to be the worst calling experience I've ever had if I could give a zero star rating I would but since the lowest rating is one star that's what I give Brandon's customer service horrible experienceAndrew G. | Premières impressions

Requested uhaul online and it wasn't ready. I waited almost a half an hour to then drive off and find out the break lights weren't working! I had to bring and back then they actually charge me for guess after having to exchanged my van three times. One of the employees complained about his and duties and made trans jokes about staff! This storage unit at Fox Street was the best option for me while I tried to locate a home for my family. The only down point was not being able to pay a daily rate at the end of my contract. I don't remember the young lady's name, but she worked rapidly to get myself along with another customer to our uhaul. She greeted both of us, checked both of us in at the same exact time (operating two computers at once), and showcased exceptional customer service. Along with checking two customers in, she helped a customer who couldn't gain access to his unit or remember his unit number. My overall experience was wonderful. The fact that this location opens at 7:00 a.m. and the employees are extremely professional, it helps with my business relationships with my customers. I really appreciate the services that this location provides. And the trucks, they're always available. It seems to me that this is one of the bigger locations in Philadelphia even though it isn't. The room wasn't the exact size I accepted. There was a pillar blocking some of the extra space we could of used. Also the first month wasn't guaranteed "free". There was a specific requirement you had to complete in out to get the first month free. Lastly, customer service takes a long time to answer and then the reservations you select don't match the location's system when you arrive. The best part of the experience was the in person staff. I honestly would never recommend uhaul to anyone and will not ever use this company to move again. I had the worst experience. I made a 12:30reservation at the Ogontz Ave location and after waiting in line for 30 mins this is what was said to me. 'You didnt get an email, we don't have a truck for you'. No apology no nothing, it was very unprofessional. Then I called customer service and they sent me to another location. When I arrived there and explained the situation I was told 'They lied and they do that all the time we don't have a truck' even tho the parking lot was full of trucks at both locations was told there wasn't a truck for me because those were reserved, yet I had a reservation and there was no truck for me. After about 20 mins at the second location someone returned a truck early and they gave me that one. By the time we got a truck it was 230pm, 2 hours after my original reservation time and we didn't finish moving until late in the evening as a result. They also placed 2 holds on my bank account which caused my account to be in the negative and I was told that nothing could be done to reverse it. This experience was terrible and unprofessional and severely inconvenienced me financially & emotionally.Genevieve C.

Shout out to Ayannaâ€¦ I'm not sure what was happening at this location today but there must have been 8 or 10 plain clothes people being lead around by a U-Haul representative while several people dressed in U-Haul uniforms stood behind the counter. Our U-Box was given to someone else and the manager scrambled to get us a new one. Ayanna was tasked to do this on top of being asked to open a cash drawer. I'm not sure what roles or positions everyone else had but it appeared that Ayanna had come in on her day off and was being stretched thin. If you want your employees to last long enough to have a full team on hand at not be stressed out, there should be more hands on deck. Thanks for taking care of everything you did, Ayanna!Jonathan R.

I have been a loyal customer with a company account with Uhaul for over 4 years and today I was disrespected by Shantell Hadley The service representative was disrespectful and rude and I was forced to tolerate her blatant and bold rudeness because I she would have clearly refused me service because she was the only one there. Even after making it clear to her she was being disrespectful and rude she acknowledged her behavior and responded " look I don't know how many other Uhaul you been to but I not gonna be verifying ur ID when you can just go online and verify yourself im just gonna send you the link. Even though I did it while making reservations I agreed to comply, while I was trying because she kept sending it to the alternate number she asked me for while registering, she felt comfortable enough to say" look whatever you got going on don't got nothing to do with u the one over there mumbling under ur breath wita attitude" I replied im wearing ear budds and im on the phone phone, so excuse you. She replied " well I ain't got time for it," then I return to the counter to finish check out and she just rolled her eyes and walked out without informing me of what she was doing, and return without the truck. Finally got the paperwork and keys and gave me a truck parked i had to search for. If I didn't rely on Uhaul for my business I would have walked out, and she knew that as well. However there needs to be some way for the employees to know if a unit has a post in it or not without having to go back and forth to the units to see. This was the worst experience ever. I called in to purchase the uhaul and storage unit together. The representative asked me what I would be moving into storage. I told her a living room and few other things. She suggested a 5 by 10 space which of course would not even be close. I told her I need the truck for the day and she placed me at 4 hours. I picked the truck up at 2pm. When I got back people were just parked in the loading dock and gone away from their trucks. By the time I started unloading, a worker came out to advice me that he was locking the double doors. I went to discuss it with the manager, and her tone was horrible towards me. They gave me seconds to get a couch love seat and library case off the truck and in which I hurt my back moving fast. Then there wasn't any carts available so my furniture sat on the floor inside. When I made it up to the storage unit it couldn't fit my furniture because like I mentioned it was too small. The office was closed for me to complain. I was never given a tour of the storage unit I was purchasing to begin with. I had to stand my furniture up in the unit in order for everything to fit and end up damaging my couch and scratching other furniture.Herbert H.

Some of the staff need to be a little more knowledgeable about the difference between a mobile drop off and in person return. They should also make sure that all staff are knowledgeable on how the mobile drop off and pick up "skip the line" key part works. I was very happy with the UHaul and the people that helped me this past week. The employees were very friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. However, I was NOT HAPPY with UHaul because a month ago I paid to have a trailer hitch (and necessary equipment) installed on my son's car so we could tow a U-Box and/or trailer this past week, only to find out that I had to rent a UHaul Truck and pay extra costs and fees associated therewith, and incur unnecessary stress/anxiety because the break light wiring was not installed with the hitch on my son's car. At the time we had the hitch installed, we were led to believe that we should have the lighting installed at that time we plan to tow, not at the time the hitch was installed. WE WERE GIVEN BAD ADVICE! When we went to tow, we learned that we couldn't use our own car because we didn't have the proper wiring for break lights and the wiring couldn't be installed at that time. Now I have to arrange to have the lighting installed in about 7 weeks, from across country (I am in CA and the car is in PA), because I want to tow with my own car the U-Box presently in storage in Philly. UHAUL made a mistake and I am paying the price which is very frustrating!daniel R.

I would like to let you know that I only used this location after originally booking a truck for Sunday 5/15/22 at the self storage at 1831 W Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19132. The 1831 location was horrible, and made me want to never use Uhaul again after that experience. We had a reservation and confirmation and upon arrival to receive the truck, I called the office to get into the property to receive the key and was screamed at by the employee that "HE HAD NO TRUCKS GOING OUT TODAY" while I stood on the phone trying to explain that I had a confirmation. My girlfriend then called to explain as well, as she had made the booking and he screamed the same things at her, and hung up. This is absolutely unacceptable. There is no reason that Uhaul should work with a location and staff like that. I do want someone to contact me, as that is extremely unacceptable. They contributed to carry on their conversation as we waited to be served. Need to ensure there are enough Carts available especially during Saturday and Sunday. When I moved in on a Saturday it was only 1 cart and we had to wait for a 2nd one. I couldn't get into my unit kn the weekends unless it was before the office open just to get a cart to use. Sometimes on the weekends the ramp would be blocked therefore I couldn't get in. I was charged extra fees when I asked my card to be automatically charged. I could NEVER get a hold of anyone in the office to talk about my issues however the customer service agents whenever the calls get set to was very rude and telling me how they can't help me. My brother has. Unit here that I was trying to take care of do to him recently passing. This U-Haul isn't making that easy on me, by law they're right though. But, Brandon the manager at Allegheny office is very disrespectful. A young man at this site took care of my needs, then I spoke with Brandon and he changed everything back which was fine up until I left the facility and came back for my money and to return the key. Brandon didn't have a problem with me returning that key, he had a problem with me wanting a refund. He told me that I would have to pay a late fee if I got the refund and I wanted to know why since my brother has died and they won't let me with his death certificate and my ID since I was the Emergency contact on his storage take his things. Mr. Brandon gave me the refund and while that went on, he went on to tell me that he would auction off his things if I didn't come back and told me to get out. Now, I check my email to find a late fee notice from Mr. Brandon. I will be calling the corporate office. This was a very unprofessional experience...rodney c. | Premières impressions

Everything at your location was fine. My concern was with the person that took my reservation. She was very nice and very helpful, however, the truck recommendation size, as well as the unit size were not sufficient for what I needed. I rented a truck first and I was given keys to a truck that was not available. I rented a storage unit in which I found belonged to someone else after getting a bed and dresser up there. Then someone comes up there with a list and only one on the list was available, and that one had a large pole with a base to it in the unit. This particular unit was supposed to be a 10/10 which the pole took up 1/3 of the unit. I ended up finding my own unit that needed to be swept. Checking in with Brandon was good. But checking out with Aleyah or Ayana (whatever her name was) was terrible. She had an attitude from the moment my friend and I walked up and during our truck rental and my storage close out. The unit was marked ready and when he opened it the unit was not cleaned out. Then we went to another one and the same thing happened. The biggest inconvenience was not being able to bring the truck into the storage area as they close the gate before the office closes. It was very inconvenient. Also I'm really not sure that the unit that my stuff is in matches the paperwork. Even at the final destination he still had to swap me out. Something is clearly not working well.
