The representative did not tightened trailer to hitch enough therefore trailer popped off hitch about 1/4 mile down the road. Was able to get my truck to complete stop without major damage, however, had minor cosmetic damage to bumper under hitch. Had a passer by stop to help me get it back on and tightened properly. When I returned the rental 4 hours later I did not want to make a big deal about it. I did tell them what had happened and showed them the bruised bumper. Good customer service would have comp'd the $18,95 rental fee since I wasn't going to go to management and throw the representative under the bus. Instead, I got my final invoice/receipt email the following day and was double charged! Absurd!Jason G.
26' truck was not cleaned out when I picked it up. The passenger side window would not close completely, so there was a very loud noise from it while driving. The second 6x12 trailer had a faulty hitch and frayed wiring. The trailer came unhitched twice on 2 different vehicles.Brian R.
We were promised a auto trailer originally on fifth st but the people never bought it back then they sent us to Allentown when we got there the trailer had a broken tail light and then they told us if you take it at our own risk it took 3 hours to get the trailer then we return it then they didn't log it in and they left us a voicemail that they were calling the cops on us when we return it the same night uhaulThao N.

Staff was extremely careless and disrespectful during check in, leaning back on her chair barely interacting then left her station to chat about coffee with another employee while on screen it's asking me to wait for employee to finish transaction, had to call her and ask her to finish it. Outside in the yard the other girl wasn't any better during the return, she mumbled instructions as she was walking away and I had to follow her and ask her again. Truck was so rusty with food/oil fingerprints all over the seat, dashboard and steering wheelJohnny K.
The truck reserved was not the truck provided. The truck provided was nearly half the size of the one reserved resulting in multiple trips and more than twice the mileage to get the job done. They would not accept drop off at another location so there was another round of mileage added on. We would not recommend UHaul truck service to anyone. Moving boxes are good though.Benjamin R.

When I returned the trailer, I put it away in the same parking spot where I picked it up from. I took my contract paperwork to the front desk, and without looking at my paperwork, Rocky instructed me to put the equipment I'm returning under the green awning, which I then did. Upon returning to the customer service counter, I was met by another employee who informed me he couldn't help me since he was about to leave for the day. He also questioned why I put the trailer under the green canopy. I've rented from many U-Haul businesses over the years, and this has to be the most poorly run U-Haul I've ever encountered. I would highly recommend avoiding the U-Haul located at 1428 E. Livingston St. (off of Union Blvd.) in Allentown if you value customer service. This location was filled with five or six employees who all looked and acted as though they're rather be anywhere than working. I believe Rocky seems to be leading them by his poor example.SCOTT F.

My order for a truck was transferred to another location 15 miles away. When I got there no trucks were available. Somehow the assistant did manage to get a smaller truck but took 30 minutes to tell me if could even get a truck... meanwhile my movers are sitting outside and waiting if I can even start moving! The girl who I talked to didn't have any answers to any of my questions. There were 3 other male staff there and Antonio was the only one that knew anything. Easy as asking if I can pay online, nobody knew. Which is terrible. I was literally on my way out until Antonio mentioned auto pay. I am going to be out of the area and I'm supposed to drive 5 hours to pay for my storage? Garbage. When I asked the girl anything she had no idea the answer. My only issue was that the pickup of the empty containers was supposed to be on a Saturday, they called and told us it wouldn't be until Sunday, then had to reschedule again until Tuesday. Other than that, very pleased.David S.

I had to go to three locations before i recieved my van, and thats after you allowed me to rent at one location online and then moved it 2 days before. So 4 different locations. the van i did finally get smelled terrible and had garbage in the walls of the van.ALEXANDER S.

Make sure that the trucks are running properly no engine lights on no broken Hood and shaky van overall make sure it's maintenance properly and smells good I had a very bad experience I've rented U-Hauls so many times this was the worst ever hopefully it's better next time.claudia L.

Wipe down the cabs before renting again, sweep debris out of the rear of the truck, and update the mileage in the system. Our starting mileage was incorrect, the clerk told me to take a photo and it would be corrected at checkout. This is not the case, I was charged for the previous renter's miles. Slow, disinterested staff, one person was helpful the rest were not. The wowan who was in charge of the forklift was very helpful. Mirror on driver's side of the truck was loose and would not stay in place. Equipment was not ready even close to scheduled time.Sandy M.
This location was not my required pick up locaton. When I arrived at the location for my reservation (20 miles away), there was no equipment for me. After talking to scheduling, they sent me an additional 20 miles away to get a trailer. The eqipment scheduling process is very poor.Donald S.

No complaints other than elevator access. You are only granted access to the floor on which your unit is located. The office is on G and the loading dock is on 1. My Uhaul experience was 90 % terrible. The original pickup location over booked their trucks and cancelled my truck 12 hours before. When I called they were unhelpful and dismissive. After I shared my experience my neighbors told me that that specific location has always provided poor service. The second location had people who were polite, but the truck was horrible. After 15 minutes the truck began to give off a putrid stink. When I got out to track it down it was emanating from the seat. Then under the seat I found used socks. This cannot be the norm for Uhaul, is it? I feel I was completely taken advantage of and have never been this disappointed in a company.George F.

We were given a 20 foot truck where the passenger side window wouldn't roll up over halfway. It wasn't a big deal because the weather was nice but had it been raining or super hot, it would've been a different story. Franklin did an excellent job of helping us and everything went smooth. This isn't about the locations,, this is about U-Haul policy and equipment. When two items are ordered together in advance, they should be available at the same location. There should be specific trucks with cruise control and a bigger pedal area for cross country trips, my legs have never hurt this muchJeremy K.

I certainly appreciate the fact that the units are well maintained , are temperature controlled and are constantly inspected so that my belongings are safe. FIRE EVERYONE AT THIS LOCATION. When I arrived, no one was anywhere to be found to assist me. Fiftheen minutes of wasted time waiting. I was then handed a key and told to go find the vehicle on my own in a parking lot of 35 trucks. More wasted time. When I found the vehicle, it was dirty, and my blanket and dolly were not inside. More wasted time to have to go back and get the items. Lastly, ALL the tires were significantly under inflated, three were 20+ pounds light and one was 35 pounds light.Stephen F.

The container was terrible. Worse container ever. It should've been scrapped. You couldn't use all the locking mechanisms. Door was crooked amd wouldn't line up. Allentown was going to drop the container off by 6 pm and pick up next morning. I told them that doesn't work. He said you can change the day you want the container. Wrong response. Put on hold and then was told it would come earlier. Florida was excellent. Allentown acted like they were doing you a favor. The drivers on both ends were excellent and professional.Russ F.
This was our third uhaul location of the day as our original reservation was changed from Mauch Chunk to 1313 Linden St in Allentown who also seemed to have no knowledge of our reservation and asked us to wait half an hour for the person who does those rentals only to asked to wait another half an hour and still not have a truck. So with this location, I was able book online and and truck was actually available when we arrived. Wonderful over all experience I was considering occupying a 10x10x10 space but unfortunately one was not available on the same floor where I already have a smaller storage space (3rd floor) The GM and his staff did everything in their power to accommodate my needs but were unsuccessful in finding me a spot on my desired floor they did find me a spot on another floor but the troubles it would have caused would have made the occupancy troublesome so I decided not to move in and explained my dilemma to the GM and his staff they completely understood and were able to refund me my cost. Was sold a unit that was in-use and then charged to store my furniture in an outside unit that I did not want. No one at the store could help remove charges from my bill, so now I have to use a general customer service number that may not help my case. I called and spoke with David. He was great, he held a space aside for me. Unfortunately, it was in the mezzanine where there is a step that prevents you from taking the loaded storage cart up to the door. I had to stop at the step with the cart before walking EACH individual item to my 5×5×10 storage unit. I asked for a better spot but I would have had to get a smaller unit 5x5x5. If you store items there, ask for David, he has excellent customer service skills. Some other guy there was very rude. Wish I had his name. David was extremely helpful, although I didn't get a good unit. Don't go on the mezzanine without checking or asking for a spot before the step. Don't do the step unless there are NO other spaces available. It's extra work when moving into a small storage space or any storage unit.
