The guy running the show was very unprofessional. We were picking up a car transport and hooking it up to a loaded truck. His hand signals were less than helpful. He didn't inform us on anything, and also told us to disregard the speed limit of 55 printed on the trailer.Shilo P.

My complaint isn't against the store. My complaint is against Uhaul. I reserved a 26' truck and wasn't notified until the night before my move that the truck wasn't available. Very frustrated with the experience. I made a reservation in Rexburg and had to drive out of my way to pick up the truck in a different town. Rexburg has 5 locations for uhaul. Had to also rerun the truck in an inconvenient location. Prices were expensive and no features in the truck. Didn't even have cruise control for a pond cross country drive. They charged us for an extra day but would not let us keep the trailer because they had someone else wanting to rent it. So they made 2X the day rate. The girl was rude and short... and charged us a "cleaning fee" of $15 when all we carried was doors with 5 boards. Poor customer service.Rick A.

I am more than happy with the staff. I'm also happy I was able to have the boxes in my driveway until filled. But, there have been some things that I've not been too happy with or about. 1) I'd given my CC# on two separate occasions, once when i set things up and again via a phone call from U-haul. I was confident that my account would be kept current. It was not until I happened to be going through my emails that I saw my payments were past due resulting in late fees. So I went on line paid the invoices. I also saved my CC# to my account to avoid more late fees & hopefully my credit rating won't be affected. 2) Next, I understood on day 1 that my boxes would not be shipped to their destination ($$$ amount quoted)UNTIL all 4 boxes were ready to go. Much to my surprise the first 2 packed boxes which I understood were still here waiting for the other two to be filled had already been transported & had reached my destination. They none were not supposed to ship until the end of March. U-haul is not charging me the full shipping costs for the final two, but I still have to pay for the rest of my stuff to get to my new home. My main critique is this, communication must be explicitly clear. I believe a print out of the agreement should be given at the time of the transaction. Not an email, not a conversation. I signed on a pin pad, but what for, charges to my card? (That's what I thought). Both parties should fully understand what the other hears & understands. Every single person I've dealt with at u-Haul been so kind & understanding. If I knew then what I now know, I may have researched hiring a moving company. This was just so convenient & it appeared easy & economically wise for my situation that I didn't see the need to do other investigating. I'm always the one to harp on people to get everything in writing, and yet I failed to do so. I do appreciate U-haul giving me a concession on the subsequent shipping costs, but nonetheless it's an extra expense this new widow didnt need to have. Also, mode of communication should be consistent. Either send texts for everything, or phone calls to confirm (which was done for box delivery & pick up), don't throw emails (transport notifications) into the mix. I don't check mine consistently. Truck was dirty. Windows were especially dirty. I wanted to send pictures during the pick up however the app would not let me add any more then two pictures. The mileage and fuel picture. The fuel was less then the location said it was.WILLIAM H.

The back of the trailer wasn't clean. We had to sweep it out and spot mop it so it wouldn't get our stuff dirty. We rented a trailer for 8 days, then returned it in 6 days and was told there is no refunds on the difference. What a joke! Won't be renting from this location again.ERIK B.
The trailer lights worked when first connected. Then they no longer worked the following day (Friday). The Boise location confirmed the trailer lights were not working. The safety chain attachments were not designed to work with all tow vehicles. Boise confirmed this.BRIAN O.

The lady was super friend welcoming me to the store. But after that my respect for the company went down hill quick. I was handed keys to my 26 foot truck and had to hike in snow to the very end of the parking lot. Usually they have your truck waiting for you. I had to go spend 30 minutes cleaning 4- 6 inches of snow off and wait for the thick layer of ice to melt off the wind shield. I drove back up to the front door and told the lady I couldn't open up the rolling door. We then spent 5 to 10 minutes trying to get the door open. If for some weird reason my wife had to go pick up the truck I would have been pissed that she had to do all of that. Common on U-Haul.David E.
Parking is an issue. Huge parking lot, but no designated parking spots so you kind of just stop somewhere. The person checking out my van did not have it up by the office and it was out by the road, which is about 50 yards away. I am disabled and it was a painful challenge. She was also very stoic and not friendly, like I was a bother.JOHN S.
The car transport trailer I rented was covered in frozen mud, ice, and snow. Had to ask for a hammer to break the frozen mud free from the left ramp. Before I turned the trailer in I hosed all the mud off it. The tires were underinflated on the truck. I had to go to a tire shop to get them aired up properly. The truck pulled to the right.JAY S.

When we received the truck, the interior of the cab was good. When we got to our storage unit to load up our stuff, we opened the back of the truck and the smell of weed just pours out of the back. All of our belongings smell like weed now and it was very disappointing. On our drive, We have two hours left of our trip and the whole trailer wheel comes flying off and we had to pull off to the side of the road. After we had to leave the trailer there because we could not get a new one, I notice that one of the lights on the uhaul truck stops working. The last two times I've rented something from UHaul, the app sent me to a location that either did not have the equipment requested - or was closed unexpectedly. In both instances, employees were extremely helpful. However, the app definitely needs some work. Perhaps verification of equipment at the location or feedback from the location before a customer shows up to pick it up would be helpful. Today, the rental was not available in a timely fashion and I was unable to finish the work because it was too late in the day. Very disappointing. Once again, this does not reflect poorly on the workers. They were all well trained and helpful. The app and link to equipment availability really needs additional work.Lee N.

The staff member who helped me wasn't very helpful or clear on where to gain access to indoor storage. When I came in the afternoon to start putting my property in the unit, there was only one person working to cover all aspects of service. I had to hunt him down to get help in knowing how to access the building. When I got to my unit, there was a lock on it. I had to contact the staff member to have him remove the lock. The staff at the U-Haul was very knowledgeable and great at explaining all available services. The facility was well lit and secured. The drive in port at the Ammon location was very appreciated as it was rainy and cold. The carts provided to carry boxes and storage bins to the desired unit was very helpful. The staff is made of teenage kids. I've had this storage unit for almost a year and everytime I've tried to call to make a payment they put me on hold for over 20 minutes. Then eventually it goes to voicemail, the voicemail says their closed, Hours before their online hours tell you. So if that happens on the day your payment is due it means you get a late charge... not $5 not 10 % but a whooping $25. All because those kids refuse to answer the phone. So if you don't physically plan on walking into the building to pay your bill every month, expect a late fee charge. But even if you do, expect a bunch of kids who are just flirting with each other and treat you like your annoying them. Then if you call the cooperate office they just tell you to pay the bill online... Good luck figuring that out. In order to make an online account you need your account number, which if you don't keep your original rental agreement, then noone else apparently knows how to find it... Don't even try asking the teenagers, they have no clue. But yes it's clean and it appears to have plenty of cameras and anti-theft options. But it's your stuff and if you don't have the time to go in to the building every month to pay, or can't get someone to figure out how to sign you up for an online account. Then expect to overpay... The security keypads were confusing at first. Having to enter the security code on two different keypads is a bit inconvenient. If this is something that has to be done, the same setup that is on the outside also needs to be in the bay area. It took 3 hours just get checked into the storage unit, causing my uhaul track to have to be checked out another day. The extra day was reimbursed, but not the extra miles it caused me to have to drive. Since it took so long to check in I had to come back the next day to check in. The manager was rude and quite nosey, some better customer service skills are definitely needed. Many times when I needed assistance, there was no employee present at the front desk, or anywhere in sight. The wait time for them to show up was ridiculous. NO doorbell so had to wait quite a while to find someone, they were in a truck cleaning. Otherwise great. I like the smaller carts, easier to move than other places. One employee was very helpful, unloaded my car and took to room and unloaded. Had to walk across the parking lot. I'm in a knee brace. Then wrong dolly. Had to go back and pick up the one I was supposed to have. (Flat furniture dolly). Then went to put things in Unit. Reserved unit online for $39,95/Mo. 3 totes and a printer box 5X5 unit. Sent student to wrong size unit and now charging $54,95/Mo. and Student is in another state now and can't fix it.
