Expensive. 1,59 $/mile when you cannot use belt parkway. So instead of 6miles my trip turned out to 40 miles because of this stupid rule that no commercial truck on belt..... no compensation.Dmitry C.

Don't believe that reserving online and pre-registering online will prevent you from having to go into the place, cuz you will still have to do everything at the pick up spot. And triple check any changes you make regarding your reservation, because they don't actually follow your instructions, nor do they read the notes in their own system, their employees are useless. I changed the time of pick-up via telephone, and it was never changed in their system, they not only canceled my reservation, I had to lay out another payment and its been 5 days since this happened and i still haven't gotten my refund. also don't believe them when they tell you its your banks fault. Where do I start the drivers seat was ripped apart , the air conditioning didn't work in a truck mind u the I drove 84 miles round trip and after 40. MPH the truck was all over the road . This truck should be taken out of service as it's a dangerous vehicle. For 244 dollars I'm very displeased.GEORGEV N.

I was notified the day before pickup that the trailer would not be available at the location where I reserved it on 9/13/21. I was told I had to pick it up in Brooklyn that was 14 miles away but 1 1/2 hours away because of traffic a normal occurrence everyday. I called on pickup day to see if possibly the customer returned the trailer earlier because the pickup time was also pushed 5 hours from my reserved time. I called at noon and the woman told me that there was one available and I could come and get it. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to get there and when I did the woman at the counter told me that someone else took it just before I got there. I was furious at this point and the woman who was taken care of me decided to walk away because she was not the one who rented it to someone else but did not want to deal with it. After about twenty minutes this man who may have been a supervisor made some calls and asked me if I was willing to take a bigger trailer which I did not need such a big trailer but since I had to get out of my house the next day because I sold it and was moving to Florida I had no choice. I had to travel another 20 minutes further into Brooklyn to get it. I picked up the trailer and it took me 2 hours to get home from there. The bigger trailer was heavier and bulkier and caused me to consume a lot more gas to say the least this was by far a very bad experience.JOSEPH P.

I made the reservation though the app for a mobile pick up At least 24 hrs before the reservation. I also ordered supplies and I went in to the store in the morning to discuss mobile picking up and they walked me through. I showed up after work and there was no code sent to me to get the truck. I called customer sever and had them call me back but when they did they just hung up and I spend a few hours on hold between 4 calls that night and The morning. When I did get threw they transferred me to the wrong branch and mentioned I would get 50 dollars credit. When I got the the store to pick up the truck the next morning the furniture dolly I ordered wasn't available and I didn't get the 50 dollars credit. This set back my move I missed work.JOSEPH K.

Explain a little bit better how this process works with everything being done through text and on line. The system is good and eSy but I wasn't really paying attention to the texts and had to go back when I dropped it off after hours to verify my location and then it wouldn't verify. Overall service and equipment was very good. My only disappointment was I rented a pickup for the purpose of towing a trailer - and no tow hitch was available. Very surprising for a U-Haul facility. I had to buy a trailer hitch adapter and pin for my own personal hitch which fortunately I brought along.Kenneth B.

For paying over 5 000 $â€"I am very unhappy with UHAUL's UBOX service. This is NOT just a complaint against the Bensonhurst location, but the Staten Island uhaul location and regional managers I dealt with in NYC. Their ability to problem-solve situation that go wrong was sub-par in regard to UBOX PODSâ€"UHaul's UBOXcustomer service is abhorrentâ€"nobody can get through for hours and ineffectiveâ€"the right hand DOESN''t KNOW what the left hand is doing! Total miscommunications and incompetence on their partâ€"amongst national reps vs local store reps vs moving helpers. It's utter chaos in NYC. My UBOX arrived empty because they delivered the wrong box! Uhaul needs expert project managers to streamline and make effective an otherwise potentially good product. When my UBOX's finally arrived ( a day late) its contents arrived safe and soundâ€"but frankly, the business operation around UBOX sucks to a point where its not worth it. They were a day late in delivery with NO compensation for it as statedâ€" I was not reimbursed 50 $( No guaranteed delivery honored) ; they over-charged me 10,77 $; the first box they delivered was empty; and also, their customer service national reps are good but their execution is horrible. No follow thru. NOTHING gets done even after 50 + plus phone calls!!! I spent HOURS on the phone to get my box delivered and never felt like uhaul was committed in taking accountability and make things right. Uhaul local Managers ( Bensonhurst + Staten Island) DON't pick up the phone and talk to their customers when there is a glaring problemâ€"it's an AWFUL SITUATION that you don't want to be inâ€"especially after paying over 5 $K for an interstate move :(. I should have listened to the reviews and gone to the other competitive vendors instead. No more Uhaul Ubox pods for me. You lost my future business UHaul.Richard P.

Staff makes the place a sad place to do business with, especially return crew is very unhappy. They don't like there job. Even to answer a simple question of if this is the place I can leave the van is answered with an attitude. Didn't know I couldn't bother you for a simple question and only to find out later they hit you with a cleaning fee of 60$ which was the same as my rental so total 12060 $$ to clean an already dirty van and 60 to rent for 8hours and rushing to get back in time. Wow very uncomfortable experience especially when your tired from a long day.ROHINI C.
I rented 10' truck for 1 day. There were more than 15 trucks on the lot. I asked to choose one. Every time I chose one it over sudden was not available for different reason. Finally, they gave me the oldest and worst one. Staff was very rude and not willing to help customer. Will not go there again.LEONID K.
