First I rented the U Haul from a different location and was told right before pick up that that locations 10 ft truck broke down and that my reservation was moved to the Alum Creek location. I called before going just to be sure everything was good. The manager I spoke with was rude and not friendly in anyway. I arrive to pick it up and unfortunately had to deal with the same person that was rude on the phone. Adesha continued to be rude the entire time I was there. As if I was bothering her. I wasn't asking anything special or out of the way. I simply wanted a uhaul for the day. I kept it together and didn't give any reaction to her whatsoever. Maybe she was just having a bad day. Although I had a feeling this was just her attitude in general. She told me she needed the truck back by 7am the next morning, with a very rude tone and attitude. I said no problem. Unfortunately I had an issue that morning and was about 20 minutes late returning the truck. When I arrived I explained the issue and apologized 3 or 4 times for being late. She said it was no problem I returned it before the next customer showed to pick it up. All is well right? Come to find out the card used was charged 3 separate charges. One being the estimated cost, two being double that amount and three being the actual amount that should have been charged. Called the next day to ask why all of the charges but mainly #2. Of course she wasn't there so I had no answer. Although the lady I spoke with that day was pleasant and understood why I was calling. Call back and actually speak to the manager, Adesha, and was told that charge was due to the extention of the truck not being back at 7am. Two issues with this. 1 I was not told anything about this charge whatsoever and 2 here we are 4 days later and the other 2 charges have fallen off of the card yet the biggest charge and the one I was not aware of until looking at the days charges is still in a pending status. I understand pending means it has not actually been charged yet. I understand it should fall off of there. However that is a chunk of my money being held up that I can't use for 4 days now that I was never even told was being charged to begin with. I believe Adesha knew exactly what she was doing and choose not to tell me intentionally. Oh forgot to mention when I returned home that day I had a message from her at 6:50 am in that same rude tone that said "I asked you to have the truck back before we opened at 7am and hopefully it is on the lot or you will be charged". Unfortunately I did not have my phone with me at the time or I would have of course answered and also would have called to let them know I was running a little late. I take responsibility for being 20 minutes late. I can understand that maybe she may be upset about that. However regardless of any of that this woman was rude from the 1st second she answered the phone and continued to be so the entire time I had to deal with her. Horrible customer service. Then to top the experience off she put a hold on my card for double the amount that was due on top of the actual charge, that 4 days later has still not dropped off without even mentioning it to me at all. So would I recommend this place? Absolutely not! Or I'd recommend to call ahead and be sure it's Adeshas day off. As I stated the woman I spoke with the following day was very kind and understanding even stayed on the phone with me after closing time to try to help me out. Unfortunately I can't remember her name. But I do thank you again ma'am for your kindness and your concern. Sorry you have to deal with such management though. I feel for you and anyone else that has to deal with her daily. In the end due to Adeshas attitude issues and the lack of communication with customers about extra charges being made, I would not recommend this location at all. U Haul should really pay more attention to the people they have in management positions. I will probably avoid them all together in the future because of this lady.Kimberly G.

Newton was very rude. I told him I was not comfortable backing trailer into spot, he said then maybe I shouldn't have a trailer. He then refused to check my equipment in for return. More of a comment in U Hauls tech, the self check in and drop off is not very user friendly. The web portal could definitely use and update. As for the equipment, the truck I rented was not very clean. the previous user neglected to sweep it out as did the staff. I definitely returned it cleaner than when i picked it up.William J.

When I tried to drop off the vehicle, the online website wouldn't allow it. The store opened at 9 am but I needed to drop off by 7 am to prevent extra charges. The website is too complicated and I had to sign onto another web browser to get the system to accept my drop-off. Kept saying I can have them enter it during business hours for an extra $20 fee. Ridiculous amount. The web drop-off rental can be more user-friendly, or the manager at the front desk should have explained to me the process to ensure it would work when I told her I was dropping the truck off before business hours. 7 am, she didn't explain the website, she sent me a text after I left the store, and I had to navigate it when I dropped off with no availabe contact person to help assist me Sunday morning.Nicole R.

I am upset that my order was not together and it was not even recommended to go to a different location. The store owner/employees knew that I was going to have to make two different payments and get charged twice versus making it convenient and putting it together. I had to pay twice- once for my truck and one from my auto transport when I originally called I was quoted at one price of about $1300 but overall I paid almost $1500 for my U-Haul. The staff was nice and friendly however I am very disappointed in the fact that I had to pay twice on such a large expense I paid over $150 in taxes alone versus had my order been put together I would've had a lesser charge. I hope that the next time someone comes to this U-Haul location they don't make them pay twice for a services that they know they could've grouped together. The truck was very loud as well. This was the worst UHaul experience I've ever had. I do not recommend.alexandria W.

About 10 am After getting to my already ready to move in storage. I noticed that the gate which should have been open to me was not. No one was answering the "24hr security line'! Once was able to talk to someone I waited on hold for 50 mins to talk to a store that wasn't even open yet. I was charged a 30 dollar refueling fee in addition to the gas charge. I have never heard of this before. I rented 2 U-Haul trucks, 1 from this location and 1 from a different location the previous day as well as many other times in the past. I did not receive the fee on the first U-Haul nor on any others previously. When I called to inquire the representative in the store asked the manager about it and told me that the manager said it was since I did not refill the tank. When I asked to speak to the manager the representative told me she left and that I needed to come into the store. Only one employee working when I got there. I had rented using the "always open from your smartphone" option so literally the only interaction I had with her was going inside to pick up the keys. Somehow still managed to be rude and insulting in those 10 seconds. There was one other customer who was waiting before me. She was on the phone and told me to go around her, so I approached the counter with my phone (which also said "SKIP THE LINE" on it for instructions for picking up the key. I told the employee good morning, showed her my phone, and said I needed to pick up a key. The first thing she said was "she (other customer, still talking on her phone) was here first." I was confused, so she added "that was very rude of you. She was here waiting before you." I explained that the other customer had told me to go around her, and pointed out that I was following the directions on my phone. But I wish I had told her to just do her job and not insult customers. She refused to give me her name, so I called the general manager for the location immediately to let her know what happened.Jane T.

I was very upset with the customer service I received for my U-Haul storage unit move. On Saturday the 18th, I drove to the U-Haul storage center of Northland, where I had reserved a storage unit back in mid to late July. I get to the counter and find out from the extremely unhelpful and apathetic customer service agent that the unit wasn't available and that the website was inaccurate in its inventory of available units. He shrugged and said that this happens all the time - people making reservations online for units that they don't have! How is this acceptable? Why even bother making a reservation in the first place? I had five carloads full of my stuff in the parking lot and four friends waiting on me when I discovered that I didn't have the unit available to me. I made the customer service agent make phone calls to nearby U-Haul storage unit centers to find another available unit with my specifications. The process took almost an hour. When I was able to secure a unit at the Bexley location, I had to make an entirely new reservation. By the time the agent hung up and I left, he just watched me leave and didn't even apologize. He did not care at all about my inconvenience or assisting me one bit. My friends and I drove to the storage center in Bexley, where the customer service agent there was much more helpful and gave me a storage unit that was close to the main door, so I appreciated that. However, I was angered to find out that I would have to pay for my unit that day, because when I booked a reservation for a moving truck online, the website offered a promotion for a month's worth of free storage if I made a reservation for a unit - which was the only reason I booked a unit at U-Haul in the first place. If I had known then that my promotion wasn't going to be honored, I would have shopped elsewhere for a unit. I was finally able to get my things into the unit safely after paying for it, but I need to say how angry and disappointed I was that my advanced unit reservation or my promotion wasn't honored and I had to go through all the trouble of making a new reservation and waste hours of my time and the time of my moving helpers. I am going to keep my items in the unit for as long as I need to, and then I will no longer use U-Haul for my storage needs in the future.Allison L. | Premières impressions

My reasoning for my rating is because my furniture had mold and smelt like mold. Then moving into my new home I came across roaches!! Like what is going on, I didn't have this problem when I moved my things into this storage and I shouldn't be dealing with this in my new home. Being in an emergency living situation with my family and just recently lost my job two days ago, I had to act fast and after calling multiple locations, then driving to a few others, I got frustrated and took a desperate chance with U-Haul that made a difference in what I needed in storage size! Excellent work staff helped us a lot. Unfortunately, your guidelines for the cell phone mandated, was unhelpful for us as we do not own one. Got stuck in elevator and on 3rd floor several times while moving in. Upon moving out finding items that are damaged from leak in ceiling. You cannot get ahold of office staff to save your life. When you do finally The office staff has a tendency of being very rude. I would not recommend using this location.Joseph G. | Expérience générale
I was promised a free unit when I booked the truck, and instead when I arrived, I was told that the manager had made the decision to change the policy. As a result, I was told I had to pay for the unit, which is a charge I hadn't budgeted for. I was especially disappointed because I had booked the truck and expected that deal before the manager had decided to discontinue that deal, which should, in my mind, make me more than eligible for the deal. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at this location, and I won't be using it in the future. Hopefully another storage provider can save me some money or honor the commitments they make to their customers.Joseph R. | Expérience générale
Very nice facility. Only problem was until had pipes and duct work so didn't get full size unit as advertised. First unit had tight turn and also not quite full size. Switched and second was was worse the pipes/duct, but settled due to convenience to door and straight entrance.David K. | Expérience générale

This is the worst facility I have ever used! There is no 24 hour access unless you pay extra. I was supposed to get a free lock, which I did not get. When they close the office at 7pm, they also lock the double doors. So if you need to move after that you have to take all your furniture through a door barely big enough for one person. There are not enough carts, and only one elevator and you cannot use the stairs! It took hours to move in because there were multiple families there all trying to use one door and one elevator. And if you are not done by 10pm, you can't get in. And if too many people overload the elevator, it stops working. The staff is racist and rude. This facility is way to expensive for the amount of inconvenience involved. I will never rent from them again!Sharon S. | Expérience générale

Hello, Your company needs to update policies and standards in working with customers who do not own a cell phone. Please make sure to recognize also that some people live together and use the same phone. We were repeatedly asked for a cell phone number, we didn't have one with us nor do I own one. My partner did happen to be there and needed after several times reminded the store associates that we are partners and share the same phone number land line and his cell phone number. There are options for people. You need to make those options. I don't think I'll be doing business with U-Haul in the future when I can go to other stores that do offer trucks, vans and storage units without a big dramatic hassle. We were the first of two customers present. We didn't get tended to until two hours later because we were asked to stand aside while the associates waited on others. Staff was nice and helpful. When I made reservation, I was supposed to get first month free but it did not show up at check-in. Unit was nice but door wasn't directly to hallway and there was a tight turn to get in. Requested another unit so I could move items straight in. That unit had a large pipe on right side and duct work dropping about 4 feet down on the other side. We managed to fit our items in but took much effort to fit it. First unit also had obstruction for about 6 inches. If I reserve 5x10x8, it should be 5x10x8. These problems weren't a problem with the staff and they were helpful and accomodating, but the facility should have been designed better.David K. | Premières impressions

I give it a below average rating because I found the general manager at the Bexley location to be difficult to work with. I highly recommend she go through some form of customer service training in the near future. Her staff was great to work with and the facility was great. Very clean and convenient. I would also look into the elevator. I had a few near scares on it a few times. I hope this is helpful. I will be giving a google review as well.collin w. | Expérience générale
The instructions for how to check in so as to disarm the alarm and how to access the storage unit were vague which resulted in us having to go into the building to ask questions twice, pulling up to the incorrect doors and accidentally setting the alarm off twice, which was stressful.Wendy O. | Online Move In

The only issue with the facility is the elevator, it is not a freight and small. When moving larger items to 2-3rd floor units, it's challenging because of elevator size.
