Well let's just say some of the rules needs to change. If I'm cleaning out my storage I should be able to use your dumpster. Now I can't get my deposit back bs
cameron s | Expérience généraleI had a very good experience with the staff at the Alum Creek U-Haul location. They were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The only drawback was the storage facility elevator broke down and made it difficult to get my items into 2nd floor unit. The staff quickly came over to give us access to the stairs. Thank you and I would definitely recommend this location to others.

MICHAEL MThere was a pregnant girl (6 months), apologies I have forgotten her name, who was great with her service, including hooking up the tow trailer to the truck, while 2 of the men working just stood and watched her. I made a comment about them standing there, the response "she got it" The manager walked out to go home for the day and didn't say anything to the men either.
STEVEN TI checked out of my unit months ago and they still sending me letters telling me I haven't checked out I've been in that office twice I've even called four times I even have an email where I told him that I checked out and they still continue to send me letters telling me they're going to auction something off that's not even in there
Towan P | Expérience généraleNo issues with the equipment itself. Concerns with the costumer service / lack of knowledge from employees. I was told by an employee that I could change the drop off time from 11:30 to 2:30 and this was confirmed the day that I picked the uhaul up. Yet, this was not reflected on my account nor was it allowed, apparently. So I was lied to and thought it was okay to return the uhaul at 2:30. I returned it at EXACTLY 2:30 in perfect shape and even used less miles than originally planned. But yet uhaul is making me pay additional charges due to "returning the uhaul late" (I turned it in the time I changed it too, which I was told I could) and a "late payment charge". I was never contacted via phone to tell me there was additional charges and only knew about them when uhaul tried to take money from my account without permission. I explained all of this to them and they are still charging me for a mistake that their employee made by telling me I could change the drop off time. Absolutely terrible costumer service and charging their customers unnecessary fees.

RYAN BThe condition of the trailer was terrible. Both of the straps to secure the car were torn and I was really worried the whole trip they would break. One was torn more than 50 % through and this never should have been rented to me.
MICHAEL GI was trying to pick up the truck through the app but I advise going in if the store is open at pick up. The guy at the counter was super efficient and easy going. Made it easy. Truck was clean but a worn old beast it was. I was just running a few miles so wasn't an issue but I would keep that truck close. Had an issue with the fuel not being recorded properly on getting the truck but I took a picture and submitted it and I was given a credit so it all worked out in my favor at the end of the weekend. I always move with Uhaul.

SHARON MGrateful to the employees at this location for saving me on the day of an international move. The employees at 5th Ave Uhaul apparently just didn't show up to open the store at 7AM like they were supposed to so I wasn't able to get my truck at 7:30AM, with moving helpers waiting at my house, but thankfully the Alum Creek location had a truck and were able to get us up and running quickly. In the end we were still 30 minutes late getting started, but it would have been so much worse if the employees here weren't so efficient. We rented a 26' truck and it worked great for our international move. I would not say that the cab could fit three people comfortably like it claims on the site, but for two it was just fine.

SHAYNE WGreetings! On this past weekend, my school hosted our 5th annual Back to School Bash! As apart of this process we had to move a lot of equipment thus we used the Alum Creek Location U-Haul Central. I must say that Mrs. Dee and her team of service providers were there right at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning to make sure that our team had everything that was needed to make the event amazing. So keep on doing amazing things, I was totally pleased from start to finish with the service that I received. Thanks so much -Dr. G Principal Central High School, Columbus, Ohio.

Susan SI will not be using this location again for my UHaul needs. The employees at the location seemed to be enjoying their work by being on their phones and wheeling around in circles on an electronic scooter. Customers were secondary to their activities. My vehicle was not prepared for me. In fact, it had a large dashboard sign advertising it could be rented for 19.99. I was handed keys and told to find my vehicle in the lot. After looking at every license plate in the parking lot (it is a large location),, I went back in to say I could not find the vehicle. I was told I need to look for a number in the front of the vehicle instead. I then was sent back to search again for the vehicle. No one inspected the vehicle for damage when I left or when I returned. I completed my registration providing all needed information and choosing to not have any additional coverage. When I arrived at the location, I was told they did not do that at that location. I was forced to take pictures of my driver's license, and sign a small screen with no ability to know what I was signing. When I received my receipt, I had a 15 protection charge that I did not want. I contacted the manager of the location several times, and she just kept saying I chose it. I did not and in fact coverage was not even discussed with the location. She said I would have been forced to provide my insurance card to deny the coverage. Another practice I have never experienced before at a moving rental company. I would have done so if asked. If you do out of necessity need to use the location (I hope I do not), specifically ask them to tell you what charges you will incur before you sign and make clear if you do or do not want their multiple coverages. Plan additional time to actually get your vehicle, so you are not frustrated against a time deadline. The location is large, so I assume sometimes they may be the only location to get what you want, so take these steps to save yourself the frustration I experienced. On the other hand, the UHaul Corporation was extremely responsive to my concerns and apologized profusely, and the regional manager refunded my money for the coverage I did not authorize saving me filing a claim with my credit card.

BABAK DMobile app is terrible took too long to check in. Waiting to return the vehicle wasn't acknowledged. Told me to just leave the key and they would email receipt charged me a surcharge on the fuel and only drove 12 miles the needed didn't even move.
Juan JPick up and drop off was easy. Van and storage unit were clean. Staff was very helpful and corrected a billing mistake with no hassle. I will definitely use their facility again.

Katherine HNo one greeted me, the clerk was so quiet I struggled to hear her. She was on her phone the whole time, which took longer, she was answering direct questions. When I returned the truck there were 5 or so people waiting, all saying no one is there. If you only have 2 people there, shame on you uhaul. You aren't enabling them to be successful, and I am sure it is not great pay. Customer service was non existent and drop off was just an unattended store. Honestly, both the corporations fault. not there. If you were underpaid, understaffed and dealing with stressed out people moving and taking their complaints because you weren't there, because you couldn't be two places at once, I would check out and stop caring too.

JENNIFER BI had reserved a truck and trailer online at one location. Within minutes of making the reservation I was called on the phone and told I needed to go to a diff location. I get to the other location the next morning to pick up the truck, and am told they have no reservation for me and that they do not have a truck and trailer I can use. I was then told I can take a regular box truck and I have no choice but to take it as I was already running behind… and the truck clearly was not cleaned as it was full of dust and dirt and there was some kind of sticky substance all over the dash and windshield. It was ridiculous… the entire situation.

Diego CIn Indianapolis, the GM Antonio Woodward refused to sign the receipt of transfer for the trailer. He was rude and unprofessional. We were unsure if we would even be able to receive the discount for our efforts. We were also told that the Uhaul staff would park and disconnect the trailer and they did not do that. We had to do that. The WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD. Antonio Wooward should not be managing a customer based organization.

Victoria EI didn't have access to move in without support from the staff. The code and card were not working at move in due to a " system error". I hope this can be resolved because this will not be convenient for future usage.

My key card didn't work 2. The doors didn't work most of the time 3. I made my payment for April on 3/27/2024 and the manager the (lady) didn't process the payment so I was charged a late fee and a extra $10.00, this is when I decided to findr me another storage unit somewhere else and I did. I had a funeral to attend and couldn't get into my until the next morning and the doors was still not working, many people told them about this and nothing was done. I had to go to the office and them it's not working. The lady with the shaved haircut help me right away. I want to THANK HER!! and the assistant manager (white man)

You guys charge for not having a secured lock, even though U-Haul is covered legally through the lease agreement for stolen property. That's over extending your hand and taking money away from people and it's wrong and you need to stop. I think notifications are fine but don't violate renters rights to leave it unlocked. The White guy at the Bexely location in Columbus, Ohio is a phenomenal employee and I'd love to see him get a raise. He was polite, explained things thoroughly and even helped me when he could have otherwise penalized me. He was a charm and the best part of my experience with U-Haul. Reward him please

My initial reservation was cancelled without notification or explanation. The text I got from uHaul were deleted from my inbox without my permission, and no explanatiin given for that either. Also, I was given a wrong unit. Good thing I didn't move all my stuff in before I noticed, because I have a lot and that could have taken awhile. I had to present ID in person since the access codes i was given didnt work so, I had to go all the way back home to retrieve that, and then return and display.

Also, there's no refund for moving out before billing for next month. But obviously the storage can be rented out. Seems like your getting paid twice that way. And screwing the move out early customer by not offering a partial month refund!

My only suggestion is, the longer your property is in storage after the first year your cost should go up half the normal increase. It should do that as long as it is in storage. That would not only increase customer volume but clients would feel more comfortable about leaving it in there longer.

THELMA B | Expérience généraleWhen I signed up, I made a reservation for a 10x10 unit and had a confirmation email and everything. When I arrived a week later to move my stuff in, they told me they didn't have any large units and never actually reserved one for me. I had to figure out where to put half my stuff that day as they could only offer me a 5x6. I asked if they could notify me when a larger unit became available and they said they would- they never did. I checked in with them the next 3 times I went, asking to be notified and they never did reach out so I was with a 5x6 the whole time I was there. The elevators have also been out of order multiple times I needed to get stuff from my unit, which is so incredibly frustrating. The lack of follow through from employees is what annoyed me the most.
Jessica J | Expérience généraleI have to question the customer service training of the Manager, Adeshia Petersen. Upon removal of the items from my unit, the movers inadvertently took away one of the moving carts in their truck. The Manager called me and basically said that they had stolen the cart. I don't know who she usually deals with, but the assumption of theft from the get go is not "a best practice" from a customer serice perspective and is not acceptable in my books. I contacted the movers - who had already realized their oversight - and they returned the cart. When I called to update the situation to the Manager, she wouldn't take my call and instead communicated with me through one of her staffers. Not very professional in my opinion. She would not apologize for the accusation of theft and then a few days later, a charge for $75 was applied to my CC on file. This is NOT OK! I spoke to staff in person when I cleared the unit and they would not remove the charge and told me to "call Corporate". I have been a UHaul customer for close to 10 years in multiple locations - including Canada and have never had the rude and offensive treatment I experienced with Ms. Petersen. I would be glad to speak with someone about this should you need any more information. At this point, I cannot recommend this particular location to others and that is unfortunate.
