I was worried every day that someone would break in because the door getting into the area I was in was not locked. There was a security camera outside but that doesnt stop someone from walking in. Overall I had a good experience with U-Haul
Linda D | Expérience généraleI rented a 10x10 unit...the door bottom was rusted and leaked water when it rained.....the light in the unit only worked for a month...yes....I changed the bulb..still didn't work.....the location was in a windy area so when ever I opened the door ...it blew shut ..unless it was a perfect day...no latch to keep it open.....in the last 2 months of the facility expansion....the security fence has been removed allowing easy access from the hyway so no security exists......which was the main reason to rent in a secure facility......im sure you will rectify this situation at some point....I dont see value for my money to justify the cost of security for my work tools at your facility....i have relocated to another facility that ifeel more comfortable at.......cheers.....Paul Burke...

I asked for confirmation of my moving out to prevent additional charges and no one would email me, we then did receive an additional charge and late fee notification that took myself and my husband 3 times again to call and correct.
True P | Expérience généraleI rented a space on Dec 1, 2024 being led to believe the price was $69,95 monthly. Then it showed up as 99.95. Parth was unapologetic and made excuses but he offered me a different space for $89,95 on Dec 9. I moved my items to the new space. On Jan25, 2025 I couldn't access my space. After calling the office the attendant said it was rented to someone else and didn't seem to care about my stuff. I had Parth's number from the previous discussion about pricing so I called him. Parth wasn't willing to do anything. Azroo fixed everything and is amazing. Parth is useless.

The location has a phone number on the large billboard sign, that leads to an answering service that says the number is no longer monitored. The reservation email had a phone number that just rings and rings to no end. The security gate had a cell number asking to text it, where I finally reached someone after a 30 min wait. Eventually, I googled it and got the office location in Truro where I was able to book the unit. My earlier reservation couldn't be found so we started a new one. Everything was smooth after that.

I cannot say how helpful the gentleman who was on the phone with me was. This was a crisis and he made havign to find emergency storage a little bit less unpleasant!

Denise B | Expérience généraleIt took a week for the rental to be closed after I called and visited the location several times to make sure I was out before it renewed for another month. 5 days after I last visited I received a call saying that they couldn't close the rental because I left stuff in the unit. I told them I didn't leave anything and that I have pics I took when I left of the empty unit. I asked the manager to contact me with a list of the items left in the unit and I still haven't received a call. I assume the rental is closed.

A bit frustrating, but I ended up getting a good deal on the truck rental, and the staff were super helpful.

LISA B | Expérience généraleI was storing my camper (B170 YARD) on the Bible Hill NS (Main Street 333? near north river). While in storage another trailer beside mine was stolen, my camper was also damaged (window to the trailer door was broken) and lockers were broken into. The management at the Truro facility has changed several times and no one messaged or phoned me to say that my trailer was damaged, the window was shattered for 3 months before I discovered it. The gate there while accessed by a code is open an extremely long time (at least 5 minutes or so) allowing people to access the facility while the gate is open - hence the stolen trailer. The RCMP and myself were called to make sure that my trailer was still on site. The back chain link fence was vandalized allowing unauthorized access which lead to lockers being broken into and the RCMP called in. The lighting there at night is not enough and the cameras are not that great either. I personally do not recommend the Bible Hill Uhaul storage to anyone. The locked facility in town is more secure. I've had a locker in town before. The gate in Bible Hill is open way too long. I always waited by the gate before going to my camper or when I was leaving. I was asked to move my trailer so that new storage buildings could be built. When I moved my trailer, the RCMP were conveniently parked across the street during the date/time that I said the camper would be moved. I hired someone who is licensed to move trailers, so everything was above board. U-haul said they would help with the cost of moving my camper, that did not happen. Michelle who is the manager was great to work with. She was not aware that I was not contacted about the broken window in my camper.

MARK F | Expérience généraleI have never experienced such poor communication and poor customer service with a business in our region. The transition from Jeff MacDonald to UHaul was mismanaged and lacked utter communication. Jeff and his family provided excellent customer service - they were approachable and put their customers first. I have experienced disrespect, rudeness, and have been locked out of my storage unit TWICE with no notification. I needed to rent a unit during a very difficult period of time in my life which was very stressful and the level of poor customer service compounded my decision to seek business elsewhere. The first time I was blocked from my unit was because UHaul did not mark my account as paid in full. The second time I was locked out of my locker (and I have NEVER missed a payment), I was not notified to come to the office to receive a key to open the lock they placed on it. It was extremely frustrating trying to access my belongings which included my total household. Any attempt to contact the office/customer service was more than poor - it is very, very difficult to contact someone when I needed help or clarification about a notification. Whenever I have talked to someone over the phone or in the office, I was shocked by the lack of service and respect. I will never recommend this business to anyone seeking a storage unit. Customer service and communication needs to be reviewed.

I asked for a refund for the final month due to being robbed and was just told no with no explanation as to why. Eventually he will run out of customers to screw over. Suggest replacing this team in Truro as they are out of touch with how to manage a business.
CORY J | Expérience généraleI had problems with uhaul storage in the past which is why i rented from a non uhaul company. when uhaul purchased this rental property i made arrangements to move my things out as i was not willing to risk being ripped off again. In regards to being ripped off in the past I am still waiting for the refund they promised me almost 4 years ago. I would never recommend uhal to anyone and have done my best to convince friends to look elsewhere for truck rental and storage facilities.
