I will not recommend uhaul to anyone!! I reserve a truck 3 weeks before I move, confirm reservation the day before to get a phone call 3 hours later saying my truck is at a different location. Then I confirm my car hauler and get told it's also at a different location!! Go to pick up my truck rental and get told it's not there and that there are none in Calgary!!! Finally get sent to a different location to pick up the truck. Then off yo pick up the trailer. Not impressed at all!!!!Elizabeth A.

This location is an absolute joke. No one seems to know what's going on and customer service is terrible. Avoid this location at all costs, and U-Haul in general for that matter. My move was delayed 2 days due to their incompetence and I had so many extra costs from the wasted trips to pickup equipment to the exorbitant cancellation fees for all the hotels I had booked for our cross-continental move. I've tried to call customer service to complain but just seem to wait on hold for over an hour and then get disconnected. Save yourself the trouble and book a full service move.Layne W.

We had to look for the unit for 45 minutes. Found it buried behind five other units. They gave us a different one. They could not give us a printed receipt. When they finally sent us the correct receipt, they charged us for a dolly and moving pads. Unable to speak with anyone to correct this. We use your services regularly when we need to shovel furniture from the tractor trailer unit. We are moving company.!!! We have our own moving pads and dollies. Please correct this.mike N.
previous user of the trailer didn't wash the gravel and dirt out and i needed it to move furniture. i pressure washed my previous trailer rentals regardless of condition but i will no longer wash for discourteous customers who don't care for equipment.John M.

this was the worst rental experience ever!! tried using your so-called noncontact booking and pickup. Worst decision ever. I was first at the location. went through the online dispatch process.... truck numbers were given to me which didn't exist at this location. I walked totally around outdoors outside of this huge warehouse in the pouring rain and could not find any of the truck numbers sent to me online. finally found one after 4 walks around in the pouring rain, and now I am totally soaked. but this truck is completely surrounded by trucks and trailers so there would be no way I could leave with this. there is no help for this. so now I go back to the office and there are 6 people in front of me for service and only one person working trying to get through this all. another client had same problem as I did and she had to give them a different truck.... when I finally spoke with her she had to do the same for me. finally got a truck I could leave with, but this wasted over an hour of my moving day, and was costly in terms of our moving helpers... I will never ever use this service again.Paul R.
I was given keys to a pickup truck that still had a trailer attached to it. The customer service agent then switched my rental to another pickup. The problem is that the mobile equipment verification did not match my new rental unit so I was unable to confirm the condition of the actual rental unit I received. I took my own photos just in case.Jason M.
The only problem I have is - I wish you could rent these trucks/trailers for more than 2 days in Calgary. I have a few days between moving out and then moving in. Would be convenient to leave my belongings in the trailer and store the trailer for 5 days, now I have to load,unload into storage then load,unload again on my own. First off back 3 weeks ago I inquired into UHAL PODS at that time I was told they were 8'0â€ high and 9'0â€ long and would dropped off at the requested Location July 11 and picked up July 12. Then stored until my September 1st delivery. Put a m/c # down to secure the reservation (expected cost aprox 600). Great. It wasn't until I didn't receive my verification email that I called to inquire. I was then told there was no pod delivery's available and UHAL WAS BOOKED FOR POD DROP OFFS till mid to end of august. I could not believe it. SO, then it was proper that I now rent 2 UHAULS (as I had 6 pods to fill) load up Uhaul truck, bring to 6315 - 36st S.e. Location where I can unload the trucks into the pods. Fine. So then arrive at UHAUL (above mentioned location) and was told your UHAUL POD DELIVERY TRUCK BLEW AN ENGINE AND NOW PODS MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE DELIVERED. At this point I regret using UHAUL AS IT HAS MADE SOMETHING SO EASY SO VERY DIFFICULT. The. I told that I may have to re-rent 2 Uhaul trucks, unload the pods, load up the UHAUL TRUCKS, and deliver the items from the pods to the locations pre-determined now aprox a month ago. I told the associate at UHAUL that this is a UHAUL problem and why would I unload trucks and pay for pods to turn around in 1 mo th to deliver 3 pods and a month and a half to deliver the additional 3 pods. So, I truly hope UHAUL â€" figures it out. Your a large company and being a business owner myself, understand that commitments made are exactly that.Derek G.

This was a last attempt for renting a truck from you guy due to technical difficulties on your end. I thought I would try one more time at an actual location, and it was a fantastic experience. The lady who helped us was friendly and polite and had none of the issues on the computer. It was the experience I was looking for. We will now be back and rent from this location when we need to. Two people helping customers on the weekends. There was one lady working the front end helping people get there trailers vehicles. She was very nice and efficient but a second person would have made the steady stream of people to be helped faster.Christopher P.
The day I went to pick up my rental there was only one person working who knew how to use the computer system and was qualified to connect trailers. This lady was trying her best to handle all the customers, but was obviously overworked. There were two other staff members that had just started that day. They did their best to help, but obviously the were limited in what they were able to help with. It took me an hour and a half to finally get the truck I had rented which is unacceptable. The staff did their best and I felt badly for them, but management should take measures to ensure it doesn't happen for the customers sake and the employees sake.Mike T.

We arrived to the location and had chosen no-contact pick-up. I had paid extra for furniture pads and a dolly and neither were in the van. I notified the woman at customer service. She said the expenses would be removed from our bill. They were not and I have yet to receive a refund or any contact from an employee.Kathryn K.
We were already off to a bad start when I booked U-Boxs only to be told there wasn't enough covers to fulfil my needs. Why I was able to book this no problem on the website is a mystery to me. The solution offered was to rent a truck on top of the boxes to bring my stuff to your depot. So costing me more due to your locations incompetence. Seems pretty convenient, but I digress. So I canceled these and booked a truck but even then I was told that "nothing is gaurenteed" and I would be told a day before my long distance move if there was even a truck for me. That's absolutely terrible. But my troubles didn't end there.... Absolutely terrible service at this Calgary location. There was only one staff member and it was very busy. Two other people came out to help but I overheard one of them say "I don't actually work here I'm just helping". The truck I received was in poor shape. I had requested a utility dolly and a dozen pads. There was no dolly, and the back of the truck was fun of dirty used pads just sitting in piles that I had to remove myself. There was also no walk around and damage inspection done prior to me leaving. I was simply handed the keys and pointed to a truck. On top of all of this, my reservation was messed up and dispite multiple phone calls to your contact centre saying I was moving from Calgary to Victoria the drop of location was set to Vancouver. I called and was able to get it changed. The person who I talked to to change this has no business working with customers. They were incredibly rude and when I asked to speak to their manager I was told "I am the manager". That is shocking that a person with 0 customer service skills is in a management position. All in all my experience with U-Haul will ensure that no matter what your company will be my absolute last resort, and even then I'd have to be totally desperate.Graham S.

The line up to wait for the pickup was ridiculously long. The location is massively understaffed. There was no communication from the front desk as to what was happening. Employees would leave without informing the customers where they were going or when they would return. Numerous times, employees would leave and there would be no one at the front with no information as to when the service would resume. Extremely frustrating when you are waiting in line for an hour to pick up your vehicle. We even arrived 30 minutes earlier than our scheduled pickup to avoid delays. That did not work. I would strongly advise anyone of my friends or acquaintances NOT to pick up their Uhaul at this location.Werner B.

The location appeared to be understaffed at both pick up and drop off. While the staff were amazing and very kind wait times were long due to the lack of staffing. It took an hour to get the rental in the morning and this wait time was not deducted from the 8 hour rental period. Additionally signage for the â€œdrop off sectionâ€ was very unclear.Kelsey S.
We waited an hour and a half for someone to show up at the pick up location. No discount was provided for our time, nothing. An hour and a half of our 12 hour rental we didn't have a truck and all of our moving was put on hold. This is unacceptable and I will be calling the general manager.Jason T.
The worst part was picking up the vehicle. The 24 hour U-Haul share app/website wasn't working, so it took over an hour to wait in line to complete the rental. This was an issue years ago as well, there has to be an easier way to pick up a rental or otherwise let people know that they will be a substantial Wade and to get there earlier. Despite booking online and filling the check-in form, I waited over 1 hour in line to get the trailer. There was only 2 people in front of me... The wait to pick up our reserved vehicle took over an hour with only about 6 people ahead of us even though we had checked in online. There were only two people working, one of which who did not usually check out customers and so it was very slow. The staff member who seemed to have the most experience was not much faster and was rude. This cut in to our time with our truck and the option to extend our time to compensate for this was never offered. In fact there was no recognition of the wait or the fact we were almost 90 minutes into our reserved time when we drove off the lot. Not even an apology which would have gone a long way. The service was no better when we dropped off our truck and keys. The till/desk was empty when we returned and it took several minutes of wandering around the grounds and building to find anyone to help. One of the staff in particular was very rude when we dropped off the truck, she gave us a lot of attitude about the gas even though we returned the truck with the same amount of gas as when we left which was recorded on our conditions of the vehicle before we left. We will never return to this uhaul or any uhaul in the future and we will not recommend using uhaul to people we know. We are severely disappointed.Christopher M.

Poor signage at drop of, rental units were dropped all over the pace making it difficult. Biggest complaint - where to leave vehicle, where do I drop keys, very vague and frustrating drop procedure. Tried calling uhaul but hung up after waiting on hold forever.Terry D.

Great service in Regina location. The lady who helped me in Calgary was vvery fast and helpful. They had a couple of tough to deal with clients ahead of me so it slowed down the staff from being able to help me. But, the lady saw this and was able to step in and look after me.Frank U.

Horrible. I drove across the country with no AC in a heat wave. And now I'm dealing with a 500 $charge because Uhaul says I dropped it off at the wrong location. I dropped it off at the address on my rental slip.Marc L.

Who ever is running this location should be fired and they should bring in someone who knows how to run a business. I arrived 10 minutes before my reservation to a giant line outside the building. The line was fine, however, it took over 2 hours to get to the front. So when I was getting my truck I was told it was not ready. I was told there was nothing that could be done, even though there is a guarantee a truck will be ready for me. After waiting more than 30 minutes (With the staff allowing people to skip in line if they start talking to the only staff working, creating further delays) they finally got my truck and I was able to continue on. This *mostly* appears to be a case of bad management and understaffing and should be considered unacceptable. I will never go back to that location, and the next time I need a truck I will likely look at U-Haul competitors.Kyle B.

The line up in the building was atrocious. We did online self drop off which worked out fine. I had wanted to question inside about charges for being 15 mins past our drop off time. But through the checkout I wasn't charged so it did work out anyways. I feel bad for seniors or those who don't do much online. the facility was a mess. maybe they are renovating but right now it is a real mess. very dirty, very uncomfortable - even for the employees, poor guys - and very insecure. when i arrived to load my container (which i did not know it, because i was told it was a storage place, not a box) i was left alone in the facility. i imagine if a burglar had this kind of access... The place itself is far away from a well organized UHaul facility. There's not enough space to the amount of trailers, vans and trucks. For manouvering a truck or a car with a trailer, it's very very hard for an amateur driver. My credit card had gotten charged for the first month of the storage containers that I had booked.. When I had booked it online, it clearly says that the first month's storage rent is free. When I was at the store, they had confirmed that the first payment will be charged on Aug 28th instead of July 28th.
