When I arrived I was told there is a new policy and two of my friends had to be called to verify my existence. I found this unacceptable to bother my friends at work especially since I had phoned in my reservation and was not told of this policy. I was told to have a drivers license and a charge card, but no mention to be prepared to have 2 friends called. According to your clerk, this is suppose to stop theft. I believe professional thieves can find away around this (burner phones, stolen ID, etc..) I will not rent again as long as this policy is in place.

They do not permit parking your car at the Uhaul, even when you are doing a day rental. They insist you park on the street. I don't want to park my car on the street in that part of Cat City. I'll rent in Palm Desert or La Quinta next time.

The service onsite was very good, especially the (manager?) who greeted me and processed my order and the man who helped when our truck door was stuck in the up position. (He also checked in our vehicle upon return.) The only negatives: (1) the A/C in my truck faded in and out--not great on a 100+ degree day; and (2) the process for reporting existing vehicle damage was cumbersome.

Make sure to wipe down the inside of the front windshields. Night driving really is more difficult if the defrost can’t clear because of the film build up. That was truly a minor issue. This U-Haul business is a dream come true for anyone moving anything. I’ve completed 5 major moves in 9 years. The resources this shop offers all under one roof is a the best I’ve ever seen. This time I was only moving my son home from college, but I was so impressed with this outfit and everything needed under the sun all in one place. Great,friendly, efficient people helping people manage their moving jobs. Thank you for a great experience.

So the call center verified all parts for an installation 2 weeks in advance when I scheduled my appointment. The location called me at 630pm the night prior saying they had to reschedule. Once I got there, it was discovered that a part that was supposed to be ordered for my installation was not. Turned into a nightmare and had to cancel other plans as a 60-90min job turned into a 6 hour debacle. Run away from this place and find someone else to do your hitch install. Very disappointed with how everything went.

You seriously need to find a way to cut time at checkout. I had a “pre-checked” 08:00 reservation for a trailer. I “pre-checked” in, on line. The site said it would cut down my check out time by half (or something like that). I waited for 45 mins before someone checked me out. If that’s half... I would have to wait 1 1/2 hours??? In the mean time, I’ve got people of my own waiting on me. Not happy! Perhaps you should make use of some customer triage.

Rental truck was received with an Empty tank. Contract was updated to provide a $39 fuel credit. Returned truck with over 1/4 tank of fuel. The fuel credit was never applied and was charged full price. Called several times to Uhaul to get this corrected. The Manager never responded to the inquiry. It has been over a Week now with no credit applied yet.

trailer was not swept out.....a bit of glass was in it.....but that was no big deal ..... the pain in the ass was having to go back home to get my phone so the clerk could hear it ring .....this policy SUCKS !!!! I had two forms of i.d. and still had to waste time to go home and get my phone to check out rental....the staff tho is spot on and friendly !!!

We had a problem with the gas situation on this truck. At first was told that the tank read at 1/8 of a tank and a $16 credit was given to pay for gas to make it up to 1/4 tank. Upon getting in the truck, the gas gauge read under empty. So, received a $39 credit for gas to make it up to the 1/4 Mark, as that is what I had to return it with. Immediately went to the gas station and put in $50 (13 gallons) in gas and that just barely made it up to the 1/8 Mark. Added another $25 dollars to pull it up to the 1/4 Mark. So, $75 to get it up to the 1/4 that was suppose to be what I started with, and I got a $39 credit. That means that I needed to put in $36 of gas just to bring it up to the point where I should have recieved the truck and what I had to return the truck with. My opinion, the truck should have been filled before i took possession and forget about the credits. I should not have had to spend my own money to bring the gas tank up to a certain level and then have to return the truck to a higher level than it was received. When I dropped off the truck, I told the gentleman helping me out about our situation with the gas and he told me that only a manager can take a truck off the lot to get gas. This also needs to be changed. If the truck does not have gas, some employee needs to take it and get it filled! Technically, all trucks should be full before leaving the lot!

The Uhaul website is absolutely horrible. The entire experience was like dealing with an unbelievably pushy and obnoxious salesman. Your automatic addition of unwanted products and services is a clear abuse of your customers good will. The website experience was so bad it doesn't matter how well the individual store did their job. U-Hauls horrible website is what I will remember and I will avoid both it and your company in the future.

The company that loaded my items did so that there are items damaged. The movers did not use furniture pads to protect my items and some very valuable items were damaged. Uhaul says it’s not there problem and I need to contact Movinghelp. Moving help does not have a phone number only email address. My contract is with U-Haul but they are not taking responsibility.

I paid for the insurance coverage and when I returned the van the employee discovered a scratch on the rooftop that I could not see until she pointed it out to me and although they could not show or prove to me the scratch wasn't there when I picked it up they charged me $300 for the damage. Which I will get anyone they never did repair and probably charge anyone who rents the same can that charge. It's a huge scam. Because there is no way to inspect the roof prior to renting the van. In fact a ladder was needed to get high enough to see the damage.

The ubox arrived late from Columbia and they had the wrong address. I had to call them multiple times to give them the correct address. When the boxes arrived they were bolted shut and the driver had no tools to unbolt them. This delayed my move in and my movers by an hour and a half. Very frustrating experience. The movers were excellent.

The customer waiting room is void of any magazines or a TV that the public can operate. It would have benefited greatly from some comfortable seating, a coffee machine, a variety of magazines to look at,and a working TV. I was there from 10 am to 1 pm and it seemed like an eternity. originally we were to drop it of un north palm springs at plam springs shell. the person working there wasn't trained on u-haul transactions. there wasn't a drop box either. they told us to take it to the other shell in palm springs. that p shell didn't do u-haul transactions at all and.said we should take it to cathedral city u-haul. when we arrived the gentleman there was very helpful and nice. my complaint is by this time after getting a run around we drove over the amount of milage and had to pay more money. it wasnt much but its the point there were people uneducated on the rental of the equipment. and i shouldn't have had to pay anything.

Consistent hours on Sunday with other days...came at 7:00 am on Sunday to return m/c trailer ..closed...came back at 9:00 am when location opened .. no place to park...20 people in line ..had other errands to run..no place to turn around..had to back out..cane back after 12:00 noon...easy 5 min easy check out. The first subcontractor That was supposed to deliver the Box failed us ..he never contacted us or anyting he just didn't show up. That said I contacted uhaul in cathedral City and they found another subcontractor to come and deliver from over an hour away and he was only an hour later than what the original guy was supposed to be that never showed up... That person who delivered our box who I can't remember his name was awesome he was helpful, considerate, polite and professional what more could you ask for?????? I did let the other sub contractor know he'd really put us in a pickle and he said he didn't come to Palm Springs anymore and was not on the list however you guys had him on the list and he knew my name and he had the request right in front of him so I don't know what his deal was that I was not happy with him!

Gong show on 4 of the 5 occasions I visited the store. Counter staff do not appear to be very well trained and had to wait 15 minutes for the manager on duty to complete my refund as she was in the lunchroom finishing her lunch. No customer service training evident. Observed 3 other customers during the same time period leave angrily for poor service reasons. Windshield semi-clean but still had blobs of mud on it; interior smelled until like an old gym bag until I put a Febreze auto freshener on an air vent.

I was given a rental rate for the trailer., I had indicated to your desk person that I was dropping the trailer off in Las Vegas NV. When I called uhaul in Las Vegas they told me that the trailer was an in town trailer only., I was not told this information. Again I had indicated to the attendant at your Cathedral City location that I would be dropping that trailer off in Las Vegas.

I had a good experience picking up the truck and returning it. The store was clean and well stocked. I dropped off the truck and forgot some personal belongings. I called several times and was never able to get a hold of anyone in the actual store. I have yet to receive a call back from the general manager who I was informed would get back to me. I am upset that something as simple as a call back was not performed, and has ruined my experience with U-Haul, as clearly my personal belongings and my patronage are not seen as important to this company.

I had to wait almost an hour to get my truck. After I got the truck the wipers didn’t work so they had to replace those. Finally when I was at my destination to load the truck the check engine light came on and they wanted me to drive it all the way back to exchange it.

The cargo light didn't work which was a real problem when we needed to unload at 4:00 am in the dark. The oil light was constantly blinking on and off which did not inspire confidence. Despite being a 17' truck it had much less room than the standard 16' box trucks we normally rent from other companies. The rails are closer to the walls than in a standard box and will not accommodate standard bungie cords which make it very difficult to secure cargo. And last but not least there was a dolly and a bag of pads at the back of the truck that we did not ask for and were not shown to us at checkout that got in the way for the furniture we were loading and had to be removed. We had to complain vociferously not to be charged extra for using the dolly and pads because we had to break green ties to do so. The only reason this recommendation is not "Poor" is because they agreed to wave that bogus charge.

It would help to have more than 1 clerk processing. I waited in line more than 25 minutes waiting for my turn. There was only 1 clerk processing (two people in front of me and three more behind me). I checked in on-line as recommended to quicken my time at the counter. I just had to wait to get to the counter.

We have rented trucks multiple times in recent months from this location. It is always understaffed with very long wait times. Today, we rented a truck for a 50 mile round trip. I tried to do a mobile check in; it worked ok until I had to upload a photo of the odometer/gas level, then the site failed. We went ahead and left. About 15 minutes after our departure, the A/C went out in the truck. It was hot today (desert, Southern California) and the trip was miserable. Upon returning the truck and informing the attendant of the A/C issue, i was just given a “too bad, sorry to hear it.” I asked if a discount was possible; i was given an “absolutely not.” This will be our last visit to U-Haul.

when I spoke with a rep on the 1800 # each person will tell me different things so I was very confuse, last person told me if I didn't pick up my reservation on time they would cancel or if I went before the time they might not have it, so I went before the time and they did have it. Also online it gave a cheaper price for a tow dolly 45.99 around that price but they charge me around 98.00 dls. when the 3 rep. that I spoke with didn't know why until the guy that help us at the location in Cathedral city, he said it was because I was not returning it to the same location hope this make sense to you who is reading

Wait time was too long, only 2 customers ahead of us but took forever. Overall from when we arrived to when we left was about 45 minutes. We tried the mobile pickup while standing in line waiting, that was a disaster. Too many steps, had to repeat steps, wait times for mobile verification, confusion about phone numbers. Trying to get a truck sorted was a disaster. Initial truck was blocked in by a truck with a dead battery. Another truck had low tires. The gentleman who was helping us was doing his best, but overall between wait times and confusion I'm not sure if I'd go with U-Haul again. Mobile checkin needs A LOT of work, it's basically unusable. Truck was clean and well maintained. Notifications from U-Haul were good for receipts etc.

I rented a van. The employee did not alert me as to where to fill up the tank so I was stuck at the gas station walking around the van for several minutes trying to find the tank. Who would have known to open the driver's door to find the tank. Everyone behind me was honking and quite perturbed that I was taking so long.

They forgot to give us th3 rental blankets we ordered . When we returned the van they couldn’t give me the refund on blankets unless I went inside. The employee went inside to get the receipt but didn’t do the refund. When I got the van the employee didn’t go over the paperwork otherwise we would of been reminded about the blankets, it was only $5 but could of used the blankets.

I returned the equipment on time on a one day rental but later that day recieved a voicemail asking when I was returning the 5×8 enclosed trailer. I returned the call and explained I had already returned the trailer and the employee who unhooked me said I was all set with my credit card on file. I then got another call two days later asking where the trailer was? Communication was terrible from the staff..

Dropped car off at 11am as scheduled. At 7PM they told me they had too many hitches on the schedule that day and weren't able to do mine. I scheduled a week ahead of time. This is costing me an extra 50$ in gas to come back out to have finished, and another $150 in storage fees for a boat I had planned on towing out of storage. Ridiculous! HORRIBLY Handled!

Flor was great! I feel the location is very congested and the amount of traffic (people) that go through there has always been large. Thus the location and supply does not meet the demand due to its small spaced property. Otherwise, what the staff has to put up with, well they deserve kudos (all the staff for their positive attitude and patience to customers I saw while in line and their “drama” or lack of respect to the staff based on the congested environment) to serve each client and represent you company at its finest. The lady on the phone was absolutely professional and helpful her name was Cheyenne. If only the gentleman behind the counter Jaime took some notes from her. He was not at all helpful or courteous, frankly fairly rude. I had to purchase a different hitch due to mine being a different size...not a big deal honestly. What was not appreciated was his tone and demeanor about the matter, very short wouldn’t even get the hitch off the shelf for me he stood there while I searched for the proper size. Honestly you need to state the size of the trailer hitches needed per each trailer online.

When I brought back the van, the associate who was checking it in had difficulty with his mobile device sending the information presumably to the POS system so he could issue a receipt. That is fine but there was no urgency whatsoever, even after I said that it was important I get going because I need to get to work. Three associated were assembled around the van, taking no clear effort to resolve the situation other than to watch the phone to see if it would send. That was frustrating but otherwise it was great

A long wait to pick up the truck, only 1 person at the counter at 8,30 when we were scheduled for pickup. 2 people at 9 when we actually got most of the paperwork. The text messaging for driver license is useless when you are standing in a warehouse, waited at least 5 minutes waiting for the text before they gave up and manually did it themselves

I had asked for a dolly and when I opened the back for the 10' truck I rented- NO DOLLY. Instead of driving the 5.3 miles back one way to get it, I drove 3.5 miles one way, to get one from another provider. I called to ask that the 7 miles I put on the truck be taken off due to U-Hauls oversite. The person I spoke to, the next morning was less than helpful. Would be nice to know that that happened.
